Making green chicken pozole feels like a celebration because it brings family together. There are three types; red, white and green pozole. Pozole verde is a lovely recipe due to the richness provided by all the wonderful green leaves and aromatics. In addition, the toppings take this dish to a whole other level goodness. No wonder there are restaurants named “pozolerias” dedicated to serving this traditional Mexican dish.

This is the greatest stew I've ever had.
Not exactly easy to make, not difficult just requires a lot of effort and cleaning but every drop is worth it.

Houston...we have a problem. I'm sure some folks are going to have an issue with blending the vegetables in "their blender". So, if I might suggest to those who do not have a Vitamix blender, they should get one. Believe me, there is no substitute for a Vitamix and the value per dollar is going to be extremely high when folks find out what a breeze it makes doing this kind of kitchen work. Folks don't need to buy the high end models as all of them have the same motor and blender container/blade. The Vitamix E310 does the job and Costco has them and often on sale...best money spent in my opinion and you will not believe how effortless it is to get things blended.
This recipe looks delicious...talk about healthy

Why was the hominy added at the beginning of the cook? Would the blending of the greens use the liquid of the chicken broth to add another layer of flavor? I want to make this so I'm curious about a couple of the steps in the process.

    How to cheat
Start with the roasted peppers. I put mine on the comal, but then my blow torch finishes the job. Drop them in a plastic bag and let them sit.
Instead of a whole chicken, use boneless skinless chicken thighs and a couple of boneless skinless breasts. Cook them in chicken bone broth which will give you the same results.
Epasote is an important ingredient and can be found in most Mexican grocery stores.
