A full duration static fire! Congrats to the entire SpaceX team!
Was it All 33😮?
@@BillsFan2020 At least 30
@@BillsFan2020 hopefully!
@@BillsFan2020 3 seconds. The other 30 was the water deluge system.
Two seconds is not full duration.
The water system really seem to be doing its job
@ 50% thrust yep
until they hit full power its still in doubt but looking promising so far
It looked a lot dirtier this time but there could have been dust and sand on the pad. More worrying is the huge area of missing paint on the lower part of the tower shielding. Looks like something big hit it and took the paint off.
@@The_Art_Of_Paina lot further from the ground
Not much water on mars
The power of superheavy is just astounding. Way to go SpaceX
It's hard to remember that was only 50% power.
But this isnt Superheavy.
@@N1gel But is is though. The booster is called superheavy and the ship is the starship (or called ship for short). That's why the full name is starship superheavy.
@@N1gelliterally says it in the title... I guess SpaceX is wrong and you alone are correct 😂

Thank you buddy. You are a buddy.
Thanks. Getting here six hours late.
God bless
Yeah, I don't know why they always have the several minutes of filler stuff at the beginning. The best one is the 19 minute video and in the last 10 seconds, ABORT. Gee, that was worth it.
Never get tired of watching SpaceX. Always amazing. 😍
Literally
Jajajaja puros fracasos una tecnología muy contaminante
Me too ,i cant get tired watching space x
@@davie627 incredible isnt it 😍
Super incredible😍
Amazing! SpaceX thank you so much for the transparency and bothering to livestream these tests! An amazing full-duration static fire of Booster 9! IFT 2 here we come!!
(pending further testing, and paper-work ofc😅 )
OFT-2
@@francocastilloAR No, it's IFT-2 😆
@@clevergirl4457 It's both
"Suborbital mega kaboom, Vol.2"
@@clevergirl4457 No. It's very similar to orbital. It deserves to be called that. There has never been a suborbital test quite like the one the Starship is about to do.
WOW just WOW. Go SpaceX!
Sorry? It FAILED! 2 second, not 6 second. Musk groupies bots are mentally ill.
I think we have found our ride to Mars!

So powerful, you can seemingly feel it through the screen
Maria Pointer here (BocaChicaMaria-BCM). Thanks for the great live stream on B9. Best of all, thanks for lighting 33 candles off on my Birthday! What a treat. Deluge really damped the sound at 4.7 miles away on Canal H across from OLM. Big improvements from no deluge.
Congratulation to your birthday, Mary!
Happy birthday Maria. What a way to celebrate!!!
Happy cake day 🎉
Happy BDay!! That was an amazing overhead view!
I know, it was insane. Even with my hazy view I loved it. Should of went over to watch at Boca . Had better atmosphere. But it was all fun with the SpaceX streaming! Thanks for birthday wishes.
That over head view....absolutely PHENOMENAL !!!! way to go, SpaceX !!!
Amazing. I watched the first flight of the Saturn V on TV when I was a kid. I never dreamed something more impressive would come along in my lifetime.
Then you must be about my age, 72. I was following everything in the 60s, had scrapbooks full of newspaper clippings.
my first book, which I bought with my own (pocket) money was about the Moon Landing Apollo program. I still have it! Astronauts were my heroes.
I want to interview everyone on this thread...like I was late elementary to early middle during the shuttle days..
But Saturn program!
I'll say it's impressive when it can complete a mission without exploding. I really want to see the next launch work.
Big thanks for the transparency to show your fans what's happening (instead of the secrecy the other space / military-industrial companies do)
They still have to keep some stuff secret but yeah! It’s cool in the wnd
What a time to be alive. I was deep into NASA as a young boy of 10 years back when Apollo 11 flew so you can imagine my excitement at watching SpaceX lead the way.
All Saturn V's were successful (none ever exploded) and no Rocketdyne F-1 engine on the Saturn V ever failed. Still waiting for Starship to match that.
good job, SpaceX. I wish you well on IFT2
WE GETTING OUT OF THE ATMOSPHERE WITH THIS ONE 🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Much better! The breakneck pace it took to get to this point is almost as amazing as the mindboggling amount of enegry that Starship uses.
WOWWWWW - the amount of energy released is insane! Excellent looking full duration test - huge congratulations to everyone! Hudson FL checking in!
Hmm now I want to know.... processing....
googling....
Mass flow at half power: 250 kg/s/engine, duration... let's say 3 seconds, that's 250 kg/s x 3s x 33 engines = 24750 kf of fuel.
Ratio 3.6 kg LOX /1 kg CH4 so 24750 kg/3.6 = 6870 kg CH4
Energy in CH4: 55 MJ/kg so 6870 x 55 MJ = 378000 MJ or 378 GJ.
1 Watt = 1 J/s so 378 GJ over 3 seconds = 126 GW
So roughly equivalent to the output of 100 large nuclear power stations during the static fire. Or the equivalent of 25 tons of TNT being detonated.
Or it could keep a 737 flying at cruise for 12.5 days.
Hmm let's how many cheeseburgers that is 230 kcal per MJ so 230 kcal x 378000 = 87 000 000 kcal
1 McDonalds cheeseburger is 236 kcal so the burn was equivalent to 389 000 cheeseburgers. Not bad!
@@user-lv7ph7hs7lmeasuring the energy released by a rocket burning it's engines in cheese burgers is the most American thing I have ever seen, thanks for making me laugh today
Thank you Dan for the amazing coverage ❤❤❤
Very nice. I appreciate these short and to the point streams and then leaving them up for us. Transparency is awesome.
I'm beyond excited to see the full stack fly again. Good luck and great work!
Congrats and thanks for the SpaceX feed. Your imagery is unmatched. All the best

Tremendous power, frightening fire. Love it! Can't wait.
Great commentary, thanks Dan. And thanks SpaceX for allowing us to watch your history in the making!
Well done people! Please continue the narrated videos, so interesting and informative. Thank you!
I'm so happy for this, every step is getting us closer to Moon, Mars and beyond! Go starship, go space x
Congrats to the team as always. Great to see a full duration one as well 👏
So much power. I was like wheres the water? then to my surprise it came out like magic.

How can Dan be so calm!! That was LIT!!!

I like how they announce all the launches tommorow like it's a football game. I swear this company is cutting edge. They launch so many rockets that it's like clockwork now.
Absolutely impressive! Cannot be described any other way.
Great narration. Well spoken, informative, to the point.
It blows my mind at the absolute power of this rocket.

Thank you SpaceX team! You are restoring my faith that I may yet live long enough to see humans on Mars. Living through Sputnik, the moon landings, and Mars would be really cool. Don’t let me down! Go SpaceX! Go Starship!
I clicked your up thumb.
So at my age, I had to invest heavilly in some "Elontime"
I love Elontime, its so very close to reality and self funded.

Bozotime (sue origin)
Funded up front by taxpayers and non functional items delivered "only 10 years" behind schedule.
Great team SpaceX.
Powerfull, thx for the show, Go Spacex, Go Starship!
Absolutely insane, if you watch carefully during the static fire on the overhead view, you can still see the water ejecting out with the flames on top, a clear sign that the water pressure is so strong it is deflecting the flames outwards away from the steel plate.
Absolutely amazing, beautiful machine and team behind it! best of lucks on the next Starship test launch!!!!
Always have to watch at least, like, 10 times! Go SpaceX!!! 👍😁😆😄
This booster feels so dense and powerful, it creates whole new world records.
That was beautiful! That high flames through the holes!
You can almost feel the power Wow. Just WOW!
With a good subwoofer you can!
Looked nice. I hope the FAA gives launch approval soon. Good luck!
It is really cool to see the hot-staging ring atop the booster!
Congratulations. Incredible work.
Just SpaceX can do this !!! congrats to all the team
That was crazy at only ~50% throttle as well!
i really hope it will manage to withstand the pressure at a real launch
I bet it was more
@@Bryan-Hensleywhy do you worry ? If there is a problem they will fix it .
@@Bryan-Hensley I noticed the same thing. You can also see some pretty good chunks on the ground next to the booster.
@@Bryan-Hensley thats just dirt kicked up by the cloud, its impossible to avoid and isnt dangerous
That booster bidet is amazing.
SpaceX deserves thanks for being willing to real-time broadcast a test like this; in contrast to most other operators (e.g., China, ESA/Arianespace/Ariane 6) etc. Keep shaming them with your relative openness, SpaceX!
Came in just as it happened, deluge already running cause I was expecting :45 like originally showed on youtube. Amazing static fire and awesome to hear that it was full duration, though at least to me the water pressure actually seemed bit lower, although that is most likely wrong
El sistema de agua 💦 está mejor que nunca porque inmediatamente corrige la explosión 💥 que emiten estos 33 motores Waooooo 👏🏻 buen trabajo 👍🏻
Looks awesome. Can't wait to witness a launch of the whole system
That is a gorgeous booster.
All that water immediately turned into steam and once shutdown happened water flow returned like nothing happened.
People thinking this was only 2 second duration have lost their perception of time or are just not paying attention.
People can't count.
I hope it was as good as it looked, please take my thanks for all the enavation you do it is so good.
Congratulations! Great job! 👏👏👏👏👏
CONGRATS! Full Duration, incredible. Hoping to all engines having fired so we can move onto a full orbital launch! Exciting Stuff.
Full duration? 3 seconds?
@@executivesteps there may be a lag between the timer and callouts. From when the engine ingnited to when it stopped I count 6 seconds. Also mission director calls out full duration. So....I guess 🤷🏻♂️ 😂
@@TENDRKRISP Three seconds or six seconds, calling either “full duration” is ridiculous.
@@executivesteps the test duration for adequate performance baselines they set was for 6 seconds, so by making it the full amount of time it's made it the full duration of test parameters. What would you recommend?
Edit - at 9:05 in the video they say " we were targeting about a 6 second firing of those engines"
