Thank you so much guys for providing us with the coolest footages in the universe!!!!
Watched it with you guys for a few hours and the event! This compilation is really sweet, as was promised! Hearing a bit of 'toot' bloop' 'hoot' too!! Lol! Great job to all of you there at NASASpaceflight!
Was it only 31 engines, not 33?
Why were there flames coming from the side of the booster at 0:55. ?
I hope and those birds are very well. ❤️ A scare nothing more.
No explosions, no fires, no easily visible damage, what a great day for SpaceX. We'll hear more as they get the data gone through but it was about as good as they could ask for. So happy to see this go well. I've seen every single major rocket firing and all the tests far as I know from the Mercury program till today. This test is a major step forward in every way. Bigger, stronger, and so much more able to take us to space this rocket is truly ready to take man to the planets. I hope to be watcing the first orbital flight very soon. Go SpaceX
Go SpaceX-go humanity
Wow. It’s great that the older generation that grew up hearing stories of the future and stars but never lived it may finally see the space industry finally soar as it was always destined to. Even I am exited beyond belief but knowing there’s people out there that have been waiting for this their whole lives makes me feel like I’m not appreciating it enough 😂😂😂

Dude, the shot with the birds will definitely be in future encyclopedias for centuries to come
Might not be birds - It might be like 1000 Chines spy drones :)
@@peo9180 Birds aren't real. Definitely a mass gathering of information collecting drone flappy things. 😏
I had that same thought watching it live. The rocket and tower ominously shrouded by the plum looked so powerful combined with the birds reacting by forming their own cloud in the foreground.... just a beautiful juxtaposition.
The kids are saying. What’s an encyclopedia?
I wonder how many birds died because of this static fire.
Info for people who was not following it live:
1 was shutdown by the team before ignition
1 shutdown by the flight computer
Leaving a total of 31 engines fired.
That should still be within acceptable bounds for earning a license (as far as we know)
@@codearmadillo it's also within the bounds for launch. Elon said on Twitter that starship can reach orbit with 2 engine failures
What was the reason for shutdown by the team? Did they notice a problem before the test fire, or something else was a reason?
@@renascence239 My guess would be testing to see if the flight computer would automatically compensate for one dead engine by disabling the one opposite of it.
@@3SM20Pilot That'd be the dumbest reason to not do a full engine test. Your guess is pretty poor.
How can they harness so much power and have it still in on the pad in one piece. Thank you SpaceX for relighting the imagination of our youth. Anything can be possible.
I'm almost more impressed by whatever it was that held it in place.
Very strong anchors
Intelligent engineering and experience is the answer. These are the same people that fly the falcon 9s and dragon. SpaceX knows what they are doing. And its very exciting indeed.
If the government will get out of the way there is nothing space x can’t achieve
Dozens of hold down clamps. For these test, a very large steel pin is inserted through each clamp to ensure the clamp will not release. We just witnessed over 6 million pounds of thrust!
That was utterly mind blowing. Speechless.
I was totally expecting to be mind blown but not to this level. Holy fuck!!!
Seriously 😍🌌🙏🏽
100 bro. One friggin hunnit
Seamless, as if routine.
I would rather have a bottle in front a me than a frontal lobotomy. But yeah, that was pretty cool too
Booster 7 is now officially the most powerful machine in the history of the world
And it didn't even use all 33 engines, absolutely incredible
Except SLS actually launched
@@Rawkus919 begone sls fan
@@iLikeButter35 😁
SLS used old used tech, stuff ripped from the spaceships and pieced together, and still had problems before it launched. RnD takes time and mistakes are extremely costly. It's best to take it slow or even rich people become completely broke and you loose ALL backers helping you with your funds.
2:05 Man... the crackling. Can you imagine what this is going to sound like when it's in the air?
What an excellent firing sequence, I cannot wait for Scott Manley to review this… and most importantly, watch it fly.
Amazing to watch it live, and really appreciate these replays and different angles. Simply stunning!
The birds in the last shot really show how much life there is around the test site
I remember while watching the livestream I had accidentally turned the stream off to put something away, only to come back right as the deluge system came on. I was exited beyond belief and expected the engines to fire seconds after the deluge came on. It felt like forever before the engines finally ignited and when they did it surprised me, I watched in awe at the huge plume of orange expanding into a cloud of brown dust from under the OLM with that deafening roar of the raptors, I think I was so exited I might have screamed “holy shit” to the entire neighborhood. I’ve been waiting for this for 2 years, but I know others have waited for it their entire lives and I can’t imagine how they feel right now. This was intense, exiting, and mind-blowing, beyond belief. I have no words, none can describe how I felt. Thank you NSF!!!!!!!
'Excited' - 'Exiting' would mean 'to leave the vicinity'. Just trying to help. It was a monumental leap forward.
Last scene bird whirlpool is magnificent 😍😍😍
Yeah, that'll be iconic...
Birds that had their eardrums exploded and freaked out so bad they will be mentally shocked for the rest of their lives. We can love what's happening with spaceX and starship and this static fire. But finding beauty in a bunch of animals suffering is wrong. Looking at these birds fly in every direction really is not one part of this whole rocket development to celebrate.
Unfortunately this only lend credibility to protesters.
@@cliddily you really like to see things in a very simplistic binary way - the good ones and the bad ones. Things are not simple, there are nuances in life.
THAT WAS INSANE
To see the fully stacked starship lift off, on its first orbital test flight, will be an unbelievable moment. In just over a year, we will have seen James Webb, SLS and now Starship launching into space. This is one of the most exciting periods of space exploration history, if you ask me.
I am so happy to be alive to witness such momentous event. The world will never be the same again. Thank you to SpaceX team!
Hello to the person coming back to this video after watching the first starship Mars landing. I hope you are doing well. Have a great day.

Yup, let's see if it takes a decade or so. Hello me.
Im a time traveler. I spent some time on mars in 2034.
Thank you, NASAspaceflight for all you do. You have made my days and weeks so much better every night after I come home I watch your daily updates. I’ve been watching the progress of SpaceX, Starbase since the days of star hoppers creation. I am an obsessed fan. Thanks do you guys

That was amazing! And that last shot from behind the tower was fantastic. At first I couldn't make out just what exactly was happening, then the birds began to come in to focus... That was a lot of birds and they were fleeing the onslaught of so many Raptors gathered together in one...flock...
Thankfully many of them flew back to their resting place within the first minute. The others maybe a bit later.
What was cool to see in that shot is how quickly the birds regroup and come back.
The Raptors fired, then a whole lot of bird poo flew!
I wonder if they can use sirens to scare some of the birds preemptively away. Wouldn't be required by the PEA but maybe they could do it on top of it
@@xWood4000 If that was doable they would do it. I doubt all would fly away. But birds learn fast. Soon they will understand that a white rocket on the pad means trouble.
@2:23 Perhaps Spacex could consider cracking a few fireworks to shoo off the birds before static fire or launch. This could appease any potential environmental/wildlife issues, as well as giving observers like us a heads up.
Yeah I'm looking at those birds like "how close are they to the blast?! Are they okay??"
They shouldn’t do it just to “appease”, they should do it because it is the right and ethical thing to do!!! 😞
@@danielwilliams9764 those were european starlings, and they’re invasive. an environmentalist who’s worth their salt will not oppose their deaths.
31 out of 33. This is why they DO static fires. Now they'll investigate why the two engines had issues, and if necessary swap them out.
But they are enough to get it to orbit. Either by increasing the thrust of the rest (~ 6%) or by extending the duration of the boost. Maybe neither is needed. I hope SpaceX/Elon tell us which it is.
Wow! Great lingering last shot with the birds, thank you for posting this

Booster 7 _Black Panther voice_ : Skeptics!! I never yielded. And as you can see, I AM NOT DEAD!!
Those rocket clamps were holding on for deal life not to let the static fire get airborne! Good lord that was beautiful!
It's amazing with how much thrust that thing is generating and it stayed on the ground. That's a pretty good mount.
That was a great livestream and thank you so much for this spectacular coverage!
This is definitely the nr. 1 video on UA-cam with the shortest intro, starting right away with the action! Very nice job guys, followed your livestream yesterday!
The venting igniting near the top of the booster was interesting
They need to institute some sort of bird protection systems to make birds move away from the launch site prior to launch. I wonder how many birds were just permanently deafened by that static fire?
Had the same thought...
Just watched the SpaceX Drone video, after watching your stream live. Just insane amount of power!
It was cool to watch it live on the stream with you guys. Thanks for the coverage!
Love the shot with the birds scattering. Hope they're all okay but just a bit stirred. I know I would be if I'm that close (I wish).
I wonder if there's a couple of thousand deaf birds, lol.
Absolutely amazing!
That was BAD @$$!!! Thank you for the coverage. NSF, y’all rock!!! I had your live stream on all day at work. Pretty dang epic. 👍
Absolutely fantastic work by the whole crew! Thanks a bunch for this.
Incredible! Great job SpaceX on reaching this milestone. NSF thanks for the coverage 👍🏻
How can this only have 8.4K upvotes and 115,000 views? That was unbelievable.
Nothing left to do but launch. The time has finally come. Congrats SpaceX!
Well that was intense 😳 It’s going to be quite the experience when that’s firing for a few minutes on launch.
It will throttle back for MAX Q after about one minute. The spectacular part will be when it throttles back up as it starts leaving Earth's atmosphere, the spread of 33 exhaust plumes in near vacuum will look fantastic.
This is gonna be one hell of a rocket launch or the most epic fireworks show.
That is insane! Can't wait to see it fly!
Let's give a round of applause for those clamps
YAY, clamps! Restraining that kind of power under those conditions (VERY hot)! And cheers for whatever the clamps are mounted into, while we're at it. Where IS Boca Chica? Florida? How much sand do you have to dig through before you find bedrock? Or are the clamps anchored in just a really huge slab of highly reinforced concrete? I dunno.
Awe-inspiring.. Was so glad to catch that live via NSF's stream today! Congratulations SpaceX. You never fail to excite and amaze.
That was insane. The sound alone was epic.
Wonder what was the discharge from the middle third of the booster at 0:57?
I hope the rock shower right afterwards isn't gonna be another issue. Insane!!
it looked like it was still raining concrete on the 3rd video you had. Great pictures. Go Starship.
Seems a lot less worrisome though, more than likely just dirt and gravel getting hoofed aloft. The concrete under the OLM did seem pretty in-tact from shots that followed the firing.
Wow such a long wait thanks for being there to share this guys you do such a good job and get these videos up so fast orbital test next let's going
It only feels long because SpaceX has been spoiling us for years.
By any reasonable measure, this has come very quickly. SpaceX are not reasonable though. They demand far more of themselves and keep delivering.
Great job on the quick edit Jack! Fantastic work @nasaspaceflight!! Impressive coverage!Thank You all involved in making this history in the making available to us!
Orbital flight is gonna be crazy!
I'm pretty excited and can't wait to see the full ship and booster in action on it's first launch. This must be the same feeling our older generation must've felt during the Apollo missions. To see such a massive spear pummel through the sky, omg so awesome.
Congrats SpaceX and THANK YOU NSF crew for the fantastic views!
@Phlogistan Jones That should be "phlogisTON Jones, with an "o", unless your real name is Stan and you're doing wordplay. But regardless, I like it! It's science AND history! 👍
Epic shots guys...!!! It's amazing how smooth and clean sounding the ignition and shutdown was. SpaceX continues to never disappoint....!

Can’t wait for Orbital Flight! 🚀🚀🚀
So since 2 engines shut off are they going to try another 33 engine static fire, do a smaller static fire including those two engines, or attempt orbital launch next?
That will likely depend on why it was only 31 engines, along with if they got all the data that they need. Only SpaceX knows that.
Probably just replace those 2 engines and then go for orbital launch. Elon said that even with 31 the booster would make it to orbit
NASASpaceflight team, what a way to capture history! You're simply the best!
PLEASE do a side by side of the 33 raptor static fire with other static fires, from 1 raptor to 33, a collage of sorts. That would be fascinating to see!
Yes pls!
That is the literal definition of AWESOME!
All I have to say is just wow!
....can not wait to see this beast in the air and going for throttle up!!
Cannot wait for the full send. Keep up the amazing work SpaceX!

Thanks for the enjoyable *late* night NSF. Superb coverage. Birb cloud was beautiful to watch but damn I hope there weren't too many casualties.
I may well be wrong but, by their flocking behavior, I judge them to be English Starlings. If so, they're an invasive species - fwiw.
