    this is how i used to do fish eye camera in c4d years ago. it was incredibly frustrating as you couldn't see anything until it was rendered. having octane and real time gpu viewing definitely helps.

    Tons of light and dispersion
    Look at how quickly it is constantly cranking out 2k samples
    I wonder what the system specs are

    Mindblowing!! Just one thing: 10:12 viewport speed: if you hit shift c and search for all frames, hit it c4d lowers the frame rate to guarantee viewport realtime speed in scenes like that

    hi David! awesome as always! Just dropping my 2 cents here: you can still use google images, just after you search go to settings (below search bar) - advanced search... and THEN you can dial in any resolution you want there. Not very user friendly, but still works! cheers!

    Hey David, I was wondering if you used this same-ish type of technique for the whales you did for the Immortalys video you did. I really dig the northern lights effect!

    • @octanejesus
      @octanejesus 3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Terence! There were none of these effects in there, no. For the texture on the whales, I just mapped an image sequence of some turbulent fractal effects onto the whale, and used some glitter in the normal maps, along with some opacity maps (maybe falloff? can't remember).

    for me, it takes an hour to render each frame when I add a few glassy materials (using Octane 3.09), how are you even able to render animations with this?

    • @Mograph
      @Mograph  3 роки тому

      What kind of card are you using? Pretty sure you can upgrade to at least Octane 4 for free if you have Octane 3. Using the latest version of Octane will help for sure.

    • @RmaNYouTube
      @RmaNYouTube 3 роки тому

      @@Mograph GTX 1050 Ti. I Know it's outdated for renders (& even end of the line for proper modern gaming), but it's a no no to some octane features like Glasses and Volumentrics.
