Hello Bob, very enjoyable video, glad your on the bank, my radiator job was a nightmare, but its fitted, and on Sunday, will turn on the mains water, and see how many leaks I get, all the best mate, and hope to be out on the bank soon.
Hi Clive, I wondered why I hadn’t seen a recent video from you. Obviously a home plumbing issue. Glad to hear it’s been fixed and looking forward to your next adventure.
Hi Derek. I can’t manage dawn escapades these days but it seems that others arrive mid afternoon and, I assume, fish to dusk. Not so many years ago I would regularly fish until dusk, after being on the water for most of the day, but I have tended to adopt a much more ‘relaxed’ approach in recent years. Perhaps I need to bite the bullet and organise a few late sessions.
I was brought up fishing Fen drains like the 20foot and if l wanted a decent sized fish l used to float ledger just off the opposite bank reeds.l suppose nowadays you could use one of those squeaky bite alarms but l prefer looking at a float .My float is a quill about a foot long, home made .
Thanks for the tip. However, given the depth of these drains, I would think it could be difficult to cast a float-leger rig because of the length of line between the weight and the float. Unless of course a sliding float is used. What was your experience when fishing this method?
@@BobGoesFishing Generally speaking the float ledger resulted in a Tench 2-3lbs or an eel .I used a 15 foot match rod and about 11foot of line between the weight and the float .2 white maggots on a 16 hook .Tight lines !
@@AnthonyCarter-g2o thanks for explaining your approach. The 15ft match rod obviously gave you enough length to manage the cast. Unfortunately I don’t have a rod of that length in my collection.
To be honest Steve I rarely use proprietary baits, my recent outing being an exception. However, when I was editing the video I realised that the solid bite I had on bread was after applying the Unfair Baits attractant, which I didn’t do on subsequent uses of bread. So perhaps it did what it it says it will do, ie attract fish. Something to experiment with next time.
Better Luck next time Bob

Hi Bob, have you ever tried Fjuka baits? Can be hit and miss for me
