Personally I would like to see Cloak of Shadows works so that you can cast it again while under its effect, resetting the duration rather than fixed duration regardless of skill level.

what of the usage of druid elemental skills? can you use geddon and hurricane at the same time? what are the limitations with ele and shapeshifting as well? only spell that says you cant use in shapeshift is the tele, but i doubt that means everything else can be used

In a group of 8 players maxing Battle Command is massive. +3 skills to your entire group ends up being a lot of value the more players you're grouped with, even if it reduces your personal effectiveness.

Blizzard ground improvements seem like a good thing to me. It could be just my luck, but blizzard never seems to hit anything for me.

-Paladin support build

For the rest there’s balance/imbalanced changes to single skills that don’t really create fresh ways of playing, or am I missing something?
Yea I think ur missing a lot considering u missing like 4 months of dev streams and just reduced that to a couple mins of what u watched on this video but bro u do u don’t play lol it’s ok u don’t have to like it. As for me battle net d2 is dead MXL was fun single player but really dif from D2 for my taste and POD is run by only one guy who did a great job but is limited from him being terrible at working with ppl so I’ll be grinding PD2 and having a great time

Nobody is supposed to watch some streamer for a mod most ppl have never heard about for 4 month to be up to date. Indeed Sun flower, I haven’t watched all that and I don’t feel I need to. Which is exactly why I asked a genuine question on whether I’m missing something highly refreshing. Your attitude really wasn’t refreshing, but luckily the overall PD2 community has been lovely while I played this weekend 😊
Overall I still stand by my question, and although you might’ve interpreted it as “complaining that there isn’t enough work in this mod” it really was to make sure I play the new builds, while the team is undoubtedly creating new skills over the upcoming 4 months for the next ladder.

What is "while they're static'd"? I was not aware static field added a status effect to monsters...
It's new in the mod. Lowers lightning resistance.
@@jonassholmberg8071 will - enemy lightning res on items or merc gear effect the immunity now or just those specific abilites that now say so...? will the -enemy res on infinity break light immunes with static etc... that normally do not get broken. Vanilla rules do not apply here as they reowrked all those skills.

Do they delete inactive characters like battlenet does? Since I sometimes have several month long breaks and that's why I've mainly been playing single player.

@Austin Kloth Welp PD2 is fresh and just started new Season, POD is in middle-end of season. PD2 has 4 month seasons while POD is like 7. PD2 has a group of people modding it, all working under a project leader who is a D2 no lifer that already was streaming the game everyday grinding it for hours. POD is run by 1 guy who has a job and a family he did a great job but is limited by what a single person can do.
So def cause season just started I would go with PD2 then u can try POD when it resets see which one u like more or play both. But PD2 has a much higher ceiling based on having more ppl on it.
Also PD2 has single player POD does not. Just in case u trying to play sp

Summoners were able to do ubers in vanilla d2.
okay so this is something that applies just as much to the original, but I can't believe it never occurred to me until looking at some of the druid powers in this video that the point of the druid is multiclassing
Nah rabies isn’t too strong rn. For pvp it is, but ar and ias is too slow. The spread isn’t good.
I base other character skills on how fast kill speed is to a sorc or hdin. So bumping rabies a bit could make it a viable melee attack for non troll builds.
I think, blizzard and fissure are improved density, but reduced damage, so that damage is about the same, but more consistent
Personally not a fan. I love the idea of "awkward" spells (but they should "compensate" for awkwardness with damage or smth else)

What do they mean by hard and soft points? Up to 20 is hard, 21+ is soft?
Hard points = points you put into the skills via level up/Den quest/Izual (or any other source of points they add that you can choose to allocate).
Soft Points = +skills from gear.
hard points are points that you spend on skills, soft points are from items or abilities
Can someone please explain hard and soft points? If I see a hot girl I start out with a soft point but quickly grow to a hard point. Is it like that?
Hard points = points u spend after u leveling
Soft points = gear added points, e.g. +3 to P&B, +1 to shout .........

I'm assuming the creator wasn't a fan of casters and did not duel with them very much. Every melee weapon has splash damage. Teleport gives a -50% damage debuff. And spells like fireball disappear at the end of your screen, which pretty much eliminates all complexity and strategy that existed in caster vs caster pvp. Seems like most of the decisions were PVM driven. If you played D2 primarily for pvp in vanilla then I'd pass on this mod. In it's current state a poorly geared BvC would destroy any caster with little effort.
I'm so worried about the PvP scene for this mod...

Fissure does NOT suck at max level with -res. Fire druids are already amazing
I've been loving PD2 so far. I broke my Necromancer today by using my only respec to spec into golems at lvl 24. They are terrible at this level and I can no longer progress. Other than that, all of the new changes have been great!
This is still the problem with most of the skills. They didn't do any balancing before the closed beta and 1 week wasn't enough time to figure it out.

They added respec potion into Akara for 10 gold, if you can spare the coin.
Well, if the guy who was responsible for this abberration of a patch note summary does word the skills, the wording will be atrocious.
I feel pretty done with D2 at this point, but honestly, i'll definitely be back just to try out the new summons. Necro summoner my fav build, but it can be a bit slow and clunky on live.
It looks promissing, but I don't like some of these design choices. In my opinion good/cool skills shouldn't get nerfed in most cases. Instead of making good things bad one should improve on the mediocre or bad. Lightning Fury for example is one of the most satisfying skills in the game. Why then nerf one of it's most satisfying parts? I don't want another thing like WW. WW was cool, got nerfed and nobody played in anymore (efficiently). Depending on some other changes WW also looks nerfed. Faster WW = less dmg ticks on enemies. Meanwhile I don't see a change to blessed Hammer. I'm not sure about Blizzard. If it's just a change of consistancy it's fine, if it's a buff well...
But I like the increased variaty in viable skills.
From what I read I think the "speed of WW" altering with movement speed doesnt mean that the movement during WW gets faster, but that the attack speed increases with ur movement speed. If it's purely the movement speed, then it means that WW is back to Classic behaviour and u always have maximum hits/frame regardless of ur weapon attack speed, which in itself is a buff. I might be wrong here, but that's my understanding.
The Java nerfs are kind of justified and only really applied in cows I think. Java was the one and only Cow Queen for a long time and I don't think the cap will make her that bad either.
I do kind of like the reasoning for the teleporting nerfs. It's slower farming across the board, but every class can have more competitive farming builds now.
I guess a better fix though would to just make Enigma easier to get at a lower level so everyone gets teleporting without a significant cost. I'm not a seasoned D2 player though.
Lil Roach Dogg everyone getting enigma at level 1 is lowering the bar. Senpai is raising the bar. Delay on teleport so not everyone is forced into a meta of farming that way.

Damn that sucks about Teleport because having to use Lightning 125% FCR frames. Also Act 5 Mercs suck so might or concentration is pretty much worthless. Or I hope that Senpai here can make an act 5 merc have concentrate instead of bash as its attack.
Without knowing changes, based on vanilla D2, A5 mercs are great. Last Wish is end game. But Death in a phase blade is ridiculous. Lawbringer rocks as well. Treachery is cheap and easy to get lots of attack speed. Guillames combined with phaseblades and ias kills.

I agree with some of the changes, likewise, I disagree with some.
But it's something fresh in a time of stagnation, and it's easier to install than most mods (if you are installing on top of a "fresh" install).
Really hope they include SnapChips "UberTristramFix" (or something equivalent).
Какой толк от этих модов, да они интересные , НО не решена главная проблема - слабые боссы и мало врагов на всех сложностях. Всё проходится одной ногой не то что руками, хочется сложности , чтобы монстры были очень сильные, норма и кошмар даже без шмота проходятся слишком легко, это, именно это достало меня. Вот если бы в этих модах делали сильнее боссов / мини боссов и всех монстров и их количество больше - был бы смысл стартовать, хоть какие то новые эмоции, а так нет, пока смысла не вижу

i just started playing PoD. there is nothing in that mod that i dont like, really, but there are a lot of questionable changes here, so im not sure how i feel about it. that said, they are very similar in some areas

I wish rare items (yellows) had a better chance of being usable while leveling and maybe they can increase the difficulty of normal to compensate. Finding a usable rare while leveling is basically a pipe dream.
You gotta save every topaz to cube them up, then sacrifice a helm or armor slot to get some mf. Pretty easy to get close to 50% on boots + gloves as well. It takes mf to find more mf. Then you use a “prevent monster heal” shopped weapon to hit bosses, then swap to your mf gear for the kill.
Don’t forget, merc gets your mf + his/hers, so all the trash they pick off starts dropping rares.

You didn't read what I said, I said while leveling, instead of heavily relying on the go-to low rune words everyone makes every time. Even with all that MF, you will likely never find a rare item that is worth trading.

You don’t seem to understand item drops and magic prefixes/suffixes. You just can’t get mods that beat the rune words. So what you really want is nerfed low level RWs
@@chrisp2272 seems like you never played d2 befor. First he was talking about leveling and second, even if he wasnt talkig about that, your point is completely false. They are alot of rare items that beat even the highest runewords. Take weapons for example, multiple mods like 40 ias, max dmg per lvl, xxx% inhanced dmg etc... can result in huge numbers. OP mentioned items for leveling, found while leveling. Other than questing to get through the game, leveling is basically one game/run per level from about lvl 25-75. Realistically, you’re getting more than one level per run. So that’s maybe 40 runs. Compared to high level magic finding with Shako, enigma, etc. MFing while leveling is a drop in the bucket of your total loot. Let’s also assume there are other people grabbing loot. Baal’s minions drop gold half the time. Not getting much there. Baal drops 6 items, but you might only grab one per run.
At lower levels, you don’t have the MF% to drop rares from every random monster. If you could find a cruel, fool’s, eth wep in 2 hours of playing with 50% mf, everybody would have entire mule accounts full of them.
Unless you’re doing solo D/Baal runs for loot and less exp, you just don’t get many chances for items to begin with. Especially compared to 3 min chaos runs with a level 90+ char.
Anybody who has ever played D2 and has a high school education would interpret what OP said first to mean a usable rare for lower levels, NOT end game rares. “Finding a usable rare while leveling is basically a pipe dream.” When I make a new char, just about all of them wear Death’s set gloves and belt. Is it impossible without? No... speed runners beat normal with basically no gear. To me a usable rare is one you can use. OP then mentioned a rare “worth trading” with all that MF (I assume referring to the 100-200% you can cobble together with junk mf gear. Although, thinking you can find an end game rare in norm/NM diff in a couple hours of playing versus weeks of MF running with end game gear shows that you just don’t understand the math of item finding.
The same literate person would also understand what I said about topazes and mf gloves/boots to mean “throw on whatever mf gear you can scrounge up to get lucky with a rare ring or ammy or belt or gloves or boots or wep.”
The only rares that beat runewords are for dueling purposes. You can’t beat the 400-450 1 hand dmg of grief with anything rare for PvM purposes.
Were it not for bots, the eth rare weps just wouldn’t exist.

Game shouldn't have gone to open beta. Too many balancing issues remain. Season 1 is basically just going to be a trial run... So much stuff is still broken. It'll still be fun to mess around though.
Yea imo season 1 should be looked at as more of like an extended open beta. It’s too late now but I think that framing would’ve been preferable. I don’t want ppl judging it too harshly I think it has potential and will be 💯 come s2-3.
Yeah, you can already see glaring balance issues, but theres also a lot of changed gear so noone really really knows how it will turn out.

@@nviwraith5271 I was in closed beta and it didn't look like they did any balancing before the beta. Then during the beta you had a majority of people only testing on end game gear saying builds were OP (end game gear with perfect corruptions) and stuff was getting nerfed that had no business getting nerfed.
Anyway, I'm still excited for the mod and it'll get to where it needs to be eventually. The devs are cool people.

Sounds like they are making characters easier to build and making it so spells are more spammable. Instead, the game will be about having a strong party to do "endgame" content. On one hand it's cool, on the other hand it's not at all what I want out of a Diablo update. I'll stick to LoD and the original Diablo....
group play being needed is added on top of everything thats already in d2. you wont need to group for anything youve ever done in d2 before, but the new maps highest levels, its suggested. idk how hard these are so idk how mandatory but this is all on top of the normal d2 content
