❤ Kevin! ❤ He is soooo cute! I've been on Mounjaro 7.5 since end of October. Down 8 up 8, so no loss in 2 months, food noise didn't really go away with this dose and appetite suppression is hardly there. Just had blood work done, waiting for the results. See doc on Friday and going to ask to go up to 10. Hoping for better results. 🙏🏻 Glad you are feeling better. Love the bedhead! Thanks for keeping us informed and keeping it real!
Your channel has been a great help on this weight loss journey. Doing Oz right now, had a great start, lost 22 pounds since August. Hit a stall beginning in November to date. Tried to up the dosage to .5 had miserable side effects. Doctors recommend to back down. Since its the end of year gonna try again to go up to .5. Been following up with your channel about how minimize side effects. Fingers crossed will see if this makes a difference.😉
I've had the shoulder thing too, on 10. My collar bones too. I didnt associate it with mounjaro but now it makes sense. Hope you feel better now. Love your channel.
Since these are peptides, you CAN cycle off to desensitize your receptors. This is how all other peptides are used. I plan on cycling off after one year (June 2025) for 60 to 90 days. am I freaked out? a little. But if I can start low again after that, it will be well worth it.
I applaud the willingness to experiment (if done with your doctor). Let us know how it goes. But, data seems to indicate that cycling isn’t necessary for GLP-1s, even if it is for some other drugs or peptides. Multi-year studies where ppl didn’t regain the weight… so, where’s the receptor burnout? 🤔 But, only one way to know for certain, I guess. Try and see for yourself, if your doctor’s on board with it. (But I’d think diabetics and ppl with severe obesity co-morbidities shouldn’t do this, unless arrangements are made to put them on other meds to deal with/thise things while off the GLP-1).
I got off for 2 months not to cycle but because I lost access. I initially lost almost 50lbs and then gained 15lbs during those 2 months. I had lost access at 7.5….when I started over 2.5 & 5.0 were useless. It wasn’t until 7.5 again that things started moving. Mind you the first time around I lost most of my weight on 2.5. So I don’t know how accurate the cycling off theory is….but I probably would be prepared for it to go either way. :/
@xoxo Anecdotally, and from the maintenance trials, your experience seems to be a common one. 😕 But, ‘cycling’ has a lot of buzz on social media right now. So I suspect that a lot of ppl are simply going to have to go try it and see for themselves… for good or ill (more likely ill).
I’ve been on 5mg for 3months. I hit a stall in the beginning of November. The week after Christmas, I lost four pounds. I think my stall was the holidays. I hate to admit it, but the holidays were tough. I have one more refill of 5mg. I wanted to go up but now thinking I should ride out the last month at 5mg. I see endocrinologist in middle of January. Go up then. I have renewed faith that I can do this.
I loved 12.5 did 5 boxes hope it works for you. I stalled last 2 boxes so moved to 15mg. Currently on 11th box of 15. Weight loss is very slow, but I did lose 100 in 9.5 mos then 65 the next year, last 15lbs taking forever. I also track it all and had a dexa scan. I just feel we have lost so much the closer to goal the longer it takes 🤔 If it gives anyone a lil hope for some 15 continues to work even if weight loss is slow. I love 15mg, no side effects, hunger suppression FANTASTIC after all this time and food noise suppression is great too, no other doses lasted like this. And 15mg started working better for me after 2 boxes. Weird huh 🤷🏻♀️
@ 165 pounds of muscle 😳😳 I’ve had 2 dexa scans done so I know my numbers. I actually put on 8lbs of muscle my last scan. If you believe what you hear about these meds causing muscle loss its fat bias, sorry. They just try to vilify glp1’s because they are helping obese people. These peptides can actually be muscle sparing because of how they impact insulin sensitivity. Muscle loss can happen with ANY weight loss, its not the meds causing it. Make sure to get that protein in and strength train, which Ive been doing consistently for 10 years, way before any weight loss with Mounjaro. I also lost 100 before MJ and kept that off so its actually 265lbs 💃🏻💃🏻 Mounjaro corrected my insulin resistance pcos to help my body function properly and continue the weight loss as I was stuck for years. Have hypothyroidism also. Its hard AF to lose weight even with the medications you still have to put in the work, especially if you dont want muscle loss, but know it is possible to preserve that and even gain some in the process.
@shewygirl 100% I have lost 45 lbs total. Had DEXA scans in July and December. Gained 6lbs of muscle and lost 23 lbs of fat in 4.5 months. I am ok with slow and steady!
@@tiafennthis 💃🏻💃🏻 so awesome to hear. It is possible to maintain and gain muscle and that is fantastic progress wow 👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Do you strength train a lot? I do 2x a week for an hour. Full body. I am older and I always hear for us of a particular age its best to get 72 hours rest in between training so I just opted for 2x a week. I lost so fast at the beginning that now a year later I feel its good its been slow. I think that helps the body reset to get us used to the new lower weights 🤷🏻♀️I dont sweat it anymore. Ive done maintenance on 15 twice the last year to give my body a break from a calorie deficit too and that was great practice for when I do get to maintenance. Anyway great job 🥳🥳 Happy New year.
CONGRATS on the great labwork and only having to go in every 6 months! That's fantastic! Doc's offices do overbook I guess, which causes us annoyance when we have other places ro be...like AT WORK... Sorry you needed to move up to 12.5, but hopefully you'll linger there like you did at 5 mg - or even longer!!🤞 thanks for all you do Ali!!
I had really bad sulfur burps on 12.5. Never had them with any other doses..including 15, which I have now been on since May. 12.5 and 7.5 were like having nothing…at least weight loss wise for me. Good luck on staying on this dose for awhile.
I am having the same five pound revisits for the past two months. Worries me as I am at the end of my journey. I wonder how much this is my fear of coming off the Mounjaro and how much 10 is just not working. Five was the best! I have found sugar definitely not my friend. My shoulders/upper arms call to heat at the end of my shot week. Are they watering down the larger doses? Are our receptors ignoring the signals? Like to know how the first guinea pigs did on higher doses?
I had side effects on that dose… anxiety and heart burn so bad that made me think I was having a heart attack. Haha. It was terrible, but now I know for when I restart treatment.
Rooting for you. I had similar experience on 10 but have been very pleased with 12.5.... 3rd shot of my 3rd box. Very happy with my slow but steady weight reduction. 10 I was all over the place😂
I get really sore knee joints sometimes and never realized - until now looking back - it is about a day after I take my shot🙈. Don’t get me started on being my Dr’s first appt and spending 2 hrs at the office. Ughhh!! Thx for the update😉
I'm discouraged...been on Mj since June. My blood sugar is great, A1C 6.5, off all insulin and almost all metformin. No food noise, no appetite BUT ive only lost a total of 25 lbs.
Aww ❤ Kevin. I have a whippet too the love is real, they are all the same 😂 I was on the fence on going up to 10, just finishing up my 3rd box of 7.5 mg, and it is wearing off for sure. This video helped me to decide, will talk to my doctor on the 9th and go up. Interesting you mention the joint pain....I know the dose is wearing off for me, as all my joint pain comes back! I have psoriatic arthritis and this drug is a wonderful for my joint pain. But I know it's time to go up when my joint pain starts rearing it's ugly head again.
Ali I love your intro so cute and funny. I been on the 7.5 this is my 3 shot I was on ozempic until November and I already lost 3 pounds already I need to lose 24 more and I should be good
Good luck on 12.5. I’m curious. If you were able to eat in a healthy calorie deficit on 10.0, how will titrating up help? The reason I ask is that I’m on 5.0 and am able to eat the appropriate amount of calories with little to no food noise. But, I can’t help but wonder if moving up to 7.5 would help with weight loss. Would it only help if I also lowered my calories, or does the medicine itself encourage weight loss. I’ve heard it explained both ways, so I’m wondering what you think.
Good question Mindy... I know it's a personal decision, but curious like you, as going up in dose hasn't necessarily accelerated weight loss in Clinical trials (no comparison studies).. That said, much luck/blessings to Ali Happy Holidays 🫶🏽
I find that I too have muscle aches after my shot. I use either the hot pads on my joints or a hot water bottle. I have been on 12.5 dose since early summer. I am trying to stay at this dose because my a1c is still at a great level and I am still losing a pound a week.
Hi Ali, another great video. Question. I've moved up to 10 and still have a couple of 5mg boxes, can I use those once I've run out of 10mg? I hate to waste them.
@@FitFlavorFun Ok and another silly question, so both the 5mg does can be taken at the same time, no need to space them out correct (i.e. one 5mg one day and the other the next day) Sorry for all the questions, just a bit nervous.
Wow these titrations are different for everyone. I just titrated to 12.5 Mounjaro. First week still food noise, no change on energy still have fatigue. Hungry all the time and have been up and down same 4 lbs. yikes! Been in a panic. Took 2nd 12.5 shot on 26th still no change. Sunday at supper - took two bites and was done. Less food noise today and could not eat lunch. Still fatigue down a whopping .4 lbs. hoping good things continue. Hoping same for you.

Sorry you had pain. Have you tried ibuprofen and acetaminophen extra strength together? Helps me, and I have lots of musculoskeletal pain. Best wishes to you!
I’ve been on a stall for a couple months too. I, like you, have been losing hair 😩. I’ve lost 92 lbs and only 7 lbs from original goal. I take Ozempic and have been on the high dose forever. Wondering if I need to change meds? Any ideas?
I took my first 12.5mg mj Wednesday and it hasn’t stopped food noise and I am not full it hasn’t stopped my eating and no side effects it’s like I haven’t even took it
Hey Ali!! Have you considered switching to Compound Semaglutide? I had been on Compound Tirz for 8 months and as I titrated up, my joint pain and insomnia increased to an unbearable level. I have been on Sema now for 2 weeks and almost zero joint pain, sleeping like a champ and have no fatigue! Just a thought as I hate to see you suffer. I feel you. 🤗 🥰
I have been on 10 mg since October the first week on it nothing no weight loss and all month long no nothing then comes November maybe 5 lbs it’s like taking water no effects but my determination to see what would happened because I had slacked on my water intake and protein then I started getting back on track with water and protein and boom December started seeing the scale move again and this morning weight another 3 lbs gone total 83 lbs now I was so determined not to go up another dose I’m glad I stuck it out even when i wasn’t loosing anything and I was talking major ish that’s for sure. But still said I wasn’t gonna go up but if I stall again I will be moving up
You got it exactly right. Don’t move up unless and until you’re doing EVERYTHING ELSE right first. THEN, if nothing happens on the scale for 3-4 weeks (1 week means nothing), and you’re feeling excessive food noise/hunger, especially Days 5,6,7… then yeah, all signs point to ‘time to move up’. ⬆️
Ali, I need your expert advice…I have been on 5 mg Zepbound for around 6 months. I keep losing weight and am currently at 147 pounds. My goal is no lower than 145. I don’t have a drs appt until April. I’m getting worried that I won’t stop losing! I know, what a problem to have. I need to level off! Any ideas?? OH, and I have issues with sore joints in both shoulders! Help!
Does the higher dose of mounjaro affect your blood sugar levels or is your diabetes controlled now, I take mounjaro for diabetes and would be interested in your diabetic journey with mounjaro, well done with your weight loss, good luck with the 12.5
Poor Ali… the life of a high-responder is often odd. 12.5 for you is maybe like being on 20 for an avg responder, lol. 😆😳 Most any titrate up is likely gonna try to get weird on you. Even more fun? You’re not ‘fully on’ 12.5 yet. About 35-40 percent of what’s in your system is previous shots… and all your pertinent previous shots are still 10s. Give it ‘til the third shot of 12.5… then you’ll know how weird it’s truly gonna get (or *NOT* get, hopefully🤞). And Kevin is adorbs, and thanks you through his legal team for giving him his required minimum amount of screen time (it’s in the contract). 🐕
Guys I need your advice, I started zepbound in June and took it all the way up to Sept. With no side effects at all. I had to stop the meds from oct to now and my next dosage for oct would have been 10mg ,now that my insurance is BK up and running my Dr wants to just put me on 10mg after the break I took. Do you think I should just go with 10mg? Or restart from the beginning again?
Hey, I'm a bit confused. Ii was under the impression that you've lost over 100lb. Does that mean you lost all that weight on doses of 2.5-10mg and never got higher than 10?
@@FitFlavorFun I do. Can you make one that explains how you were able to lose 100lb on only 2-10? I started in Sep and am down 27;b but I'm on my 2nd week of 10mg. I know people are different and bodies respond differently but this is too big of a difference to attribute to that. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Yah energy, oof pain. Congratulations on the good labs!!!! Your doctor may have been taught about keeping patients at a higher a1c because of the risk of patients having asymptomatic hypoglycemia, which is very dangerous. I think you have symptoms so as a provider I would probably not be as concerned.

Does the higher dose of mounjaro affect your blood sugar levels or is your diabetes controlled now, I take mounjaro for diabetes and would be interested in your diabetic journey with mounjaro, well done with your weight loss, good luck with the 12.5
It’s controlled now, a1c down to 5. I got on as soon as I was diagnosed
Lol funny. I just started the 12.5 last Tuesday. So far not seeing a difference in side effects.
This is my 3rd month on 10 and I think it should be my last. I'm sad too. I wanted to stay here longer.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Guys I need your advice, I started zepbound in June and took it all the way up to Sept. With no side effects at all. I had to stop the meds from oct to now and my next dosage for oct would have been 10mg ,now that my insurance is BK up and running my Dr wants to just put me on 10mg after the break I took. Do you think I should just go with 10mg? Or restart from the beginning again?
Restart so you don’t get sick
My AIC is 4.7. My doctor is ecstatic.
That’s GREAT❤️❤️❤️🎆🎆🎆🎆
My shoulder pain is horrible, when you fibromyalgia the pain is worse 😫..lowest dose
Hey, I'm a bit confused. Ii was under the impression that you've lost over 100lb. Does that mean you lost all that weight on doses of 2.5-10mg and never got higher than 10?
Correct. I make update videos every time I go up in dose, check them out on my channel ❤️
Thanks for the video! 💊💉
Girl, you need to find a new doctor…your time is valuable too.
I agree…small town problems ❤️
✋🏻😊
You gotta cycle off!!! Give those receptors a vacation. I know you're "a-scared" - but you can do it!! I have faith :)
I know!!!!! But, I am scared. It’s hard to let go when I have had so much success so far…I agree with you. I’m just a 🐓
