The PS2 version does have differences to the arcade gameplay wise. Some combos do/don't work between versions and Armor King's infinite back grab for time outs was removed for the console.
In addition to A.King's "handcuffs" being removed, Kunimitsu's Kunai had it's length shortened, making db2 not hit grounded opponents anymore and making her ffn2 worse in the PS2 version.
The outfit rant is not irrelevant. It's incredibly important when you look at the ridiculous custom outfits these days.. and yes people really wore cool stuff like that in the late 90s

So the story of this game is basically this: So there's this JoJos stand that somehow just exists. The stand posesses people and grows limbs by absorbing it's user. The stand's user manages to give the stand stomach cancer and explodes it from the inside creating a jumbo size serving of spaghetti. Man this series is wild.
The Kazuya wanted poster 😂 I lived in Delaware all my life and never seen that man there but that's definitely a place to hide if you're hiding from child support payments
i used to play jin/devil/kazuya in this game when i first played it but i barely touch any of those characters in anything after this game bc ewgf started becoming more and more mandatory to master esp in t6 where all those characters were really weak so i started learning Lili and Asuka more and they're more fun to me in the more recent games

Thanks for the reply. I'd love to see you cover Soul Edge and Tekken 4, since you prefer 3D fighters. I spent shitloads of time on both of those. I love Soul Calibur 1 and 2, but couldn't get into 3, and only casually played SC4. 5 was trash, and 6 just feels incomplete and has wack dlc characters, except for Hwang.... who was too little; Too late. I just wanted Lizardman to make it in! I'm sure you'll take off organically with more content, please keep it comin.
Tekken 4 is actually my favorite fighting game of all time, so I plan on making a video on that one wayyyy later in the future once I believe I could make it the best Tekken 4 video on UA-cam. I do plan on doing Soul Edge tho! Also, thanks for believing in me. Your words are appreciated. 🙏🏼
@JuiceboxJoints - 👊😎.... love Tekken 4! Played a bootleg of the import, hardcore until the U.S. version finally dropped.... used to have to wait like a year for a U.S. fighter to make it over from Japan! That T4 Force mode + the main game's wall mechanics both need to make a return in T8, but I'm not holding my breath. T8 looks like a mixed bag, so far. I've played every Tekken in arcades, up until T5... after that, newer cabs were rare in my area. I did see T6 in an arcade here once. Didn't play it, tho. Too bad more younger dudes aren't as open-minded about classic fighters as you are.... props on having some taste yo 👍!
I will love to see Jack in the newest Tekken video game, but in the meanwhile, I will love to see a mod to have Jack, to be modded to be krang from Ninja turtles.
i just love the vibe of old tekken like t3, tag 1 and t4. it didnt go too over the top and didnt try too hard to be cool like how it seems in tekken 5 onwards. there was a unique kind of soul that is just so comfy looking back on it and i wish it was present in the newer games but nah
Agreed, the aesthetics were more defined and I feel like there was more effort put in the non gameplay areas of the games. T7 has my favorite gameplay in the series for sure, but personally nothing comes close to the cozy vibe Tekken 4 gives off with it’s unique announcer, pastel color palette, ambient stages and music, drippy character design, and much more mature story. Oh shit I’m rambling, thank you for watching!
@@JuiceboxJoints dont worry about the rambling, i feel the exact same way as you! watching this video and seeing tag 1 made me feel a bit more iffy about tekken 7 despite it's solid gameplay just because the vibe feels more... esports-y (with the HYPE EDM music and FLAMING MATCH INTROES and DRAMATIC CRAZY LAVA STAGES) rather than something that's more defined as you said, which sadly feels less mature
Thank God there are people like you out there speaking the truth. I hate all the fans who just accept all the shit the developers have been giving us since Tekken 5. Tekken used to actually be cool, now it's just embarrassing...I still play but I long for Tekken 1 to Tekken 4 vibe
@@JuiceboxJoints I do I beat the game with one quarter last time I was there only thing that sucks is that the joy sticks are kind of fucked up and hard to operate
this is the first tekken game that i couldn't put down for weeks!! found it at a gamestop for pennies and had such a great time lol. i'm a fellow zoomer so the next one i picked up after that was T7. i still had a ton of fun with it but man it felt like a step down from this game... thankfully there's an arcade not too far from me w a tekken machine but man i wish console versions could catch even a little bit of that same magic

👿Good shit 🤜🤛🤝
Thank you so much dawg! I’m glad that you approve! 🫡
Ho have i played 1000s of hours and never realized the damage boost with the tag partner!? wtf?
After watching this, I guess America's future isn't as fckd as I once thought. Our president might call people "brah" but he will have profound appreciation for Tekken Tag Tournament.
Using the Tetsujin bonk as a censor was hilarious, subbed.
I knew it was the right move
Hey great work keep it up! You earned my sub fr. I'm excited to see your next video as well as watch the past couple you have made. I'll keep my eyes peeled in the future for a Patreon page, seriously this is great content and it would be a shame to see die.
i just found your channel. Keep it up man, this is gold to me.
I’m subscribing to you, because very rare do I watch one of these and feel the need to actually play the game again. Good lookin out bro 🤘🏾
Thank you very much bro! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts! 🙌🏼
Go ahead and boot it up again, it’ll feel as good to play as the last time you did.
What it comes to, true ogre, it's a Chimera.
So the story of this game is basically this:
So there's this JoJos stand that somehow just exists. The stand posesses people and grows limbs by absorbing it's user. The stand's user manages to give the stand stomach cancer and explodes it from the inside creating a jumbo size serving of spaghetti.
Man this series is wild.
Banger video mate! Never realized how good Tag 1 music is.
Check out the arcade soundtrack too!
The Kazuya wanted poster 😂
I lived in Delaware all my life and never seen that man there but that's definitely a place to hide if you're hiding from child support payments
Lmaooo I’ll keep that in mind…
I love how you edit bro. Keep it up
Thank you!
Xaiyou’s theme is 🔥🔥👌👌
Aux worthy.
Cool video..very informative..im an OG player since 1995 (TK1) and i pretty much adore TTT ^^
Ouhh nice video bro! I was fixing to do a zoomer's retrospective on Virtua Fighter so it's nice to see a video similar 👍
Hey thank you very much bro!
Let me know when you finish that video! I’d love to check it out as someone who wants to get into Virtua Fighter more 🙌🏼
Glad to find your channel dude. Funny as hell
Thank you!
The school stage reminded me of the game rival schools for Dreamcast
The ps1 version was actually in development but the ps1 couldn't handle switching 4 fighters without loading, so the game moved to ps2
“Everyone besides the michima’s are a joke nowadays”
Sadly your not wrong.
Nobody:
Yoshimitsu theme: no eyes, no ears, no nose, no mouth, no mind, no body, no shape, no shape.
Such a banger
i used to play jin/devil/kazuya in this game when i first played it but i barely touch any of those characters in anything after this game bc ewgf started becoming more and more mandatory to master esp in t6 where all those characters were really weak so i started learning Lili and Asuka more and they're more fun to me in the more recent games
Great video. I've never played TTT myself. Gotta check it out one day
Great video bro, I'm looking forward for the next one g
I really appreciate that!
Yeah, this video fye, subscribed.
Dope video dude. You're a lot of fun to watch. That Sakura video sounds like it would be great. Hope you cover some Parasite Eve cinematics in that next video.
Thank you! That means a lot to me!
And of course, you already know the opera scene is a must!
Entertaining video. 14:24 - 14:34 Hilarious. Hope to see more of these.
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏🏼
nice video man really good presentation and research and the ost and music you use so chilling you could make your videos around 20 minutes and it will be perfect, well done.
Lmao dawg, wonderful retrospective! I was prolly your age when this shit dropped, and I remember the impact well. Good old days G
Forgot to reply, but thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it as an OG 🙏🏼
@@JuiceboxJoints You're welcome, bro! Thanks for your kind words 🙏🏾 You gonna make it big on UA-cam for sure, I look forward to it
keep on grinding my man, vids are fun so far!
I’m glad to hear it! Thank you for the support! 🙏🏼
Dope video G, Tekken is so fuckin hard
Rightttt
Baek doo San in tekken tag tournament 1 the best looking baek to me that was when he was young
But I wish tekken tag tournament was canon
He’s also young in Tekken 2!
9:10-9:20
Understatement of the decade
This video has so much depth! I really appreciate all this detailed info. I'm def gonna pay it a revisit. Think I'll fire up Tekken Tag on the PS3 soon 😎👍
You won’t be disappointed!
@JuiceboxJoints -
👊😎.... love Tekken 4!
Your voice is chill af really dig that
Hey thank you! Sometimes I feel unsure about the vocals, so I’m glad you fw it 👍🏼
I will love to see Jack in the newest Tekken video game, but in the meanwhile, I will love to see a mod to have Jack, to be modded to be krang from Ninja turtles.
i just love the vibe of old tekken like t3, tag 1 and t4. it didnt go too over the top and didnt try too hard to be cool like how it seems in tekken 5 onwards. there was a unique kind of soul that is just so comfy looking back on it and i wish it was present in the newer games but nah
Transitions are great.
Boomer here. I agree with your point of the outfits.
This was a damn good video, keep up the good work 👏 .
Thank you!
One of the best fighting games of all time
Tekken 2 was my first Tekken. as a 34 old millennial to a sooner, good shit bro
Thanks!
This game was Godlike back in the arcades. And i like how we listen to the same kind of music lol
Ohh you recognized some of the instrumentals?
@@JuiceboxJoints yeah. Playboi Carti
Lol I remember this game as a kid blew my mind I live in Sacramento there's a barcade in downtown sac called coin op this game is still at that arcade
That’s dope, you should go play sometime lmao
@@JuiceboxJoints I do I beat the game with one quarter last time I was there only thing that sucks is that the joy sticks are kind of fucked up and hard to operate
I'm so glad I accidentally found this video... love it
I’m so glad you took time out of your day to watch it…thank you!
this is the first tekken game that i couldn't put down for weeks!! found it at a gamestop for pennies and had such a great time lol. i'm a fellow zoomer so the next one i picked up after that was T7. i still had a ton of fun with it but man it felt like a step down from this game... thankfully there's an arcade not too far from me w a tekken machine but man i wish console versions could catch even a little bit of that same magic
Cherish that arcade machine while it’s there!
