      This is a word whew…. I feel a person like this must revel, negatively or positively, in the chaos of a lifestyle like this guy. The resignation to accept any & everything happening to a person is so odd and kind of sad to see unfold. For clicks & money. But what haven’t people done for money? Technology just gives people more ways to do what they’ve always done. Innovate new ways to make & steal money.
      My bf & I debated recently about how social media/streaming impacts us psychologically. I think given what we know now + later research, future generations will consider limitations on screen time and such. I think we have a lot to learn still about how this constant contact is effecting us on a macro & micro scale.

      This sort of content isn't actually good for mental health, it might seem like it short term but it's not. I depend way too much on UA-cam for entertainment just like millions of others. I genuinely don't think this format of content is beneficial to our minds. Not saying it's bad, it's well made and everything for what it is but it's still superficial and not really emotionally or mentally stimulating, and the format continually conditions our minds to seek out more quick dopamine hits.

      This is absolutely wrong. The "fans" that swatted Ice were long gone by the time the crypto scam happened. The Purple Army has been long gone and most of them became known for being in the IcePoseidon2 or IP2 community that outright snubs Ice. Same fans will tell you straight up you even deserved to get scammed if you trusted scumbag Ice enough to put your money into his crypto scam.
      This wasn't Ice's revenge, watch the video again, he's always been a scam artist. He took advantage of the fans after he tried to appear as a goody two shoes, not people who swatted him. These were probably 99% innocent people who weren't aware of how much of a scumbag Ice is. The 1% might've been someone who knew, but still put money into it just for the fun of it.

Ice is clearly a product of what the internet turned him into. letting random people control your life and getting paid to be controlled is not going to end well. I am sure he didn’t have any delusions of expecting the good in people to win over the urge to create chaos with no immediate consequences, but no one could have imagined the real consequences of doing so- losing your own self consciousness. This guy doesn’t care about anyone or anything and has made his identity that of someone who pushes the limits of legality and social boundaries all for the sake of seeing how far it would go until he is thrown in prison for a long time or dies. He will only get worse.

      he literally did everything he could to get swatted constantly because that's what brought him clout and profit. the swatters were a few people, at least one close to him. and the nature of a fanbase is obviously a direct result of the nature of the content that draws it. that content was literally himself seeking active participation in him being a shithead.

    Honestly, I feel bad for him. He made his fame from living without privacy and if he chose privacy, his toxic/voyeuristic fan base would probably stop watching. It's clear that getting swatted and not feeling safe in his own home had a clear impact on his already damaged perception of the world which lead him to the choices he made. My mother put me in one of those tough love boarding schools because I was just a weird kid and she didn't want to put the work into understanding me. That school stripped away all my privacy to the point where someone would watch me when I peed. After that I still struggle with understanding that I deserve privacy and I need to respect everyone else's too. Trauma fucks with your head.

      Way to put it into perspective. The rug scheme struck me as weird because for a while it seemed like he was genuinely trying to become better. Maybe he just got tired or it and wanted a fresh start away from the cameras. I'm active in cryptocurrency and my thought is that he will be successful with these future investments as he is knowledgeable about the market. Then put it into an Ira or something similer and live the rest of his life online. That or lose it all in the upcoming bear market 😂

  • @MatthewBurns8
    @MatthewBurns8 2 роки тому +38

    I feel it kinda had to end this way in some respects. Like you can rationalize it pretty easily. His fans were great to him in the beginning and eventually the toxicity of his fanbase ruined many portions of his life. The beginning he was complaining about not having friends and stuff, so he went online to get them. Now those friends are somewhat abusive because he failed to set boundaries and treated them more as friends rather than fans, and the hate/trolling built on itself. Now he had gained real friends and relationships and they are harmed or destroyed by the online ones who thought they owned him and he owed them. I wouldn't be surprised if he hates his fans now- at least the most ardent ones. Who, coincidentally, would prob be the ones buying into this scam. It doesn't have to be a rational career move to be understandable. It is undeniable that it is shitty behavior. But I'm sure he fell prey to his malicious tendencies (it's a running theme that he's kinda shitty) and thought his fans deserved it. Either to punish them or to exact some form of "payment" for what they did to him.

    I miss the good old days of Ice. I wasn't a part of his Twitch audience, I always just watched his vods on UA-cam, so I honestly wasn't even aware of the toxic nature of what I was taking part in to be fair. Those vods are seriously some of the most memorable content in UA-cam history for me and I've been on UA-cam since 2007 through every era of the website. I mostly thought it was all in good fun, and the side characters that showed up like Hampton Brandon, Asian Andy, and Burger Planet were the ones that gave his stream the toxic reputation, not Ice himself, but after he did that fear factor thing it opened my eyes to how shitty Ice was as a person and I drifted away.

      That is a stupid way to put it. He is the MAIN CHARACTER / THE STORY WRITER. He is responsible for each and every decision for his acts.
      You always have stupid viewers with stupid requests and ideas...........literally every streamer got that.
      Now the decision is just up to the streamer, which direction he is going to take and Ice mainly chose the degenerate path, because in the shortterm it creates more attention, more viewers, more money.................but in the long path it is not sustainable.
      Surprising he could even stream so long being such a nuisance and scumbag.
