as someone who works in a scare attraction, this is literally just an outlet for psychos. were not allowed to touch anyone, and are trained to recognise when someone is too scared to continue, anything beyond a panic attack is no longer fun for the customers or the staff and is just simply sadistic
The fact that he's said that he'll only stop if someone is too physically or mentally hurt (which is *extremely* hurt by his standards) is disgusting. Scare attraction are meant to be scary in a fun way. This is not fun.
What signs are you taught to look for to recognize when someone should be left alone? I’m curious! I’ve only been to one haunted house and had to be escorted out halfway through. It wasn’t for me to say the least 😅
Anna Banana usually if people are too scared they'll be saying they want to get out, they can't breathe, they'll be crying etc. sometimes people will specifically ask us to take them out, sometimes they are clearly having a panic attack and we ask them if they need to leave and show the, out a fire exit
I went to an extreme haunt with some friends once. One of my friends started crying and having a panic attack while we were chased by someone in the woods and you know what the pursuer did? He stopped and pretended he lost track of us. And gave us time to help her calm down before we continued. (There were also people hidden on the sidelines who had cpr training and first aid kits) People can love scaring and still be decent. McKamy just wants to hurt people
Ive never been to a haunted house or anything but that sounds so incredibly sweet of him to pretend he lost track of you guys and give her time to breathe!!
This man lives an hour away from me and everyone locally can’t STAND HIM. He’s insane, capitalizing on this manor and barely slipping through the cracks from all the distress and pain he’s caused.
That's my point in my comment. People go, willingly...so who is at fault? It's well known what can happen. Yet, still they would go...I don't get it. It only goes on when the people keep frequenting it...
This guy is literally Scarecrow. Fun fact: a contract is automatically legally void if said contract involves illegal activities. Just because the victims signed a waiver doesn’t magically make it legal to torture them. Torture is a crime, waiver or not.
Don’t worry there is nothing going on that is illegal. The district attorney mother fucking agrees and will always agree until the day he no longer presides.
@@istartedajoke1704 A waiver is a contract. WTF dd you think a waiver is if not a contract to waive your legal right to something? (For example, signing a waiver of wanting a lawyer when you talk to the police. However if you, after signing the waiver, say 'nvm I want a lawyer' they have to get you a lawyer. They don't get to say 'too bad, you already signed a waiver!' The waiver just proves you knew what you were entitled to and didn't want it.)
As a scare actor I genuinely hate when people bring this place up when I say I'm a scare actor. Such a terrible place that shouldn't even remotely be considered a haunt.
Just wanna say you're amazing for doing work as a scare actor! I've seen a lot of people at haunts freak out and harm actors instinctively, so it takes a lot of guts to do a job like that. Hope you're doing well, and I'm sorry that people associate you with this.
There's definetly an art to horror, being able to scare someone without actually putting them at risk of actual harm, there's nothing special about beating the shit out of people and calling it "horror".
@@Illhavesnakes I get hit a lot but I'm a big guy and its normally the super small people that hit me so I don't really feel it but some people go straight for the crotch or come in looking to fight someone. Worst I get is sexual harassment. People that think its ok to grope me or just say stuff about me thats a little uncomfortable.
The story about the Marine that actually beat the time to win the money and actually revealing McKamey is a perverted lying psycho and getting literally forced to quit is just perfection
@@streetrat48 Yeah. It’s an endurance test. Allegedly, you need to last 10 hours of that Hell to win the money. Except Russ never lets anyone actually win because of “safety reasons”. “Safety reasons” obviously referring to his financial safety, aka being a weasel and not actually having the $20k he promised.
There was a discussion group on Facebook for a long time. There were multiple members who had been there and after hours of torture, Russ would say they weren’t fit to do it anymore and pull the plug. He definitely doesn’t have the money.
I know I saw that guardian video they literally have children around when they do it...he says "we actually had a real heart attack and he said was good"...
I had a professor in undergrad who had been on the waiting list for this place for years but had to be removed due to a heart condition and honestly Im glad, he was a fantastic dude and super glad he wasn't subjected to this bs
Bruh, my crazy ass actually did this few years back, after waiting years to get my turn. I highly recommend not doing this. This will change you mentally, physically and emotionally. Earning the money is literally impossible as well. I lasted nearly 8 hours and simply refused to give up. The closer I got to winning the 20,000, the more brutal they became. My breaking point was when they bound me up with chains (they were pressing so hard into my skin, that I was bleeding) and hanged me upside down. They put my head half way in an aquarium with the water covering everything but my mouth. It was impossible to breathe and when they allowed me to breathe (yes allowed, because you have ZERO control. They owe you), it was for a matter of seconds and since I was upside down. I still had water in my nose. So I was literally breathing in water. As I was literally fucking dying, they decided it would be a good idea to squirt some weird looking liquid in my mouth. The taste was so brutal, that it made me puke. They scoped it out of the aquarium and smeared it on my face and body. They were spitting on me and in my mouth. Nothing I said, changed nothing. They simply don't care about you. They enjoy it and you are theirs until they are done with you. About the waiver controversy. They showed me a two page 'waiver', but I wasn't allowed to touch it, or even read it. They claimed that they allegedly 'told' me everything that was on it. This conversation lasted only about 3 minutes. Here's the kicker, I didn't even have to sign anything. Before I even entered the torture room, I was already being hit and then pushed to the ground. Pinned down. Gagged so tight that it left marks on my face for weeks. They then shaved half of my head. When it was all said and done. I went back to my hotel room. I was in quite a bit of pain, but just assumed I was sore. Next morning I was in a fuck ton of pain. I went to the hospital. Come to find out I had multiple hairline fractures in both of my wrists. Also need 5 stitches in both of wrists because of the chains and water in my lungs. I had bruises all over my body, as well as flesh wounds. Don't make the same mistake I did. Stay far far far away from this man and his redroom
He's safe and okay! He's still active on Twitter, he liked something less than 24hrs ago! I think he just got burnt out and decided he needed to make his mental health a priority. I miss him too, but he's safe and happy now, so no need to worry. Hopefully he'll be back soon ❤️
@@stvy_g0ld dude based on what I’ve seen in this video it seems impossible to get out. How do you get out of a freezer? Or untie yourself? There’s no safe word there’s no way for you to leave and from what I’ve seen in another comment here a girl tried to quit and it took 40 minutes for her to actually leave.
His name is basically a slur in the Haunting community, even among professional Extreme haunts. AFAIK he is still banned from a couple of the big Haunt conventions that are invite-only (big name prop makers and such are in attendance). He was also known to employ known sex offenders as well as underaged actors as well back in Cali which also no doubt contributed to his sudden convenient move to Tennessee (which has far more lax laws). Mentioning his name is like going to a Furry convention and mentioning Kero the Wolf
He’s a known zoophile in the furry community who was exposed a while back. I won’t go into detail (he makes me feel sick) so feel free to search him up.
The old McKamey Manor house was in my neighborhood. My mom always talked to me about how she got bad vibes from the house and I thought she was overreacting until I found out about it a few years ago. It's still wild to me that I lived so close to someone so depraved
Only thing worse than this guy is the rather shocking amount of people I've seen saying this is ok because people "consented." Did yall miss the part about how he denied use of safewords? Or the people who went and claimed there wasn't a waiver? Also, "if this was actually illegal I'd be in jail" just reeks of manipulation
Yeah that’s what confuses me. It’s like that story of that dude who wanted to be killed and eaten and a guy he met online actually did it. He got put in jail for it.. The victim may have wanted it but it doesn’t change that fact that it’s murder.. So just because people sign up for this doesn’t change that it’s legit torture 💀
@@KingOfGaymes The problem is that this dude is NOT clear about anything, which is why ex-contestants that did not sign anything and went in without being able to use a safeword exist. Those things are the key of real consent in this case, as where there's real consent from both parts, even to extreme violence, it means that anyone of the participants can make anything stop whenever they want(just as it works in BDSM for example). I don't know which consensual cannibalism case you're referring to(there are....several💀)but in the most famous 2-3 cases, there was more consent involved(as in, the victim knew in precise detail what was about to happen to them, and desired it)than in the ex-contestants' cases when you think about it lmao
Interesting you say that. I just got done watching J Aubrey's vid on Sam Pepper, a shallow UA-camr from back in the day who assaulted women and genuinely called it a prank /srs

I've been working in the haunt industry for at least 3 years now. He is breaking all rules that the haunted industry have established. Harming people is a GIANT rulebreaker and it sickens me. Everyone I know, knows this man and they hate him. Yes my haunted attraction pushes and pulls people a little, but we never bound them or put them in a freezer. We also have a required safe word, its not a recommendation, its a requirement. Makes me sick how this man was never jailed for this abuse.
Honestly, the fact that people are capable of having their rights waived at all-consensually or otherwise-I feel is a pretty massive flaw in our current system. It's genuinely repulsive to hear the cops say that their hands are tied because the people signed a waiver...when it's literally torture.
Should family members of a terminally ill patient be allowed to sue because of assisted suicide, even if forms are signed clearing the hospital from wrong doing? I just don't understand what mental gymnastics have to be done to say this guy is this and this guy is that when they literally signed up for it. If someone wants to willingly put themselves through discomfort or whatever, I'm honestly okay with that. But to say this dude is a monster because he did what everyone knows he does is just silly, imo. It's literally why they showed up
@@JK-gm6kk I mean I'd say there's a pretty massive difference between helping someone who's suffering can't be alleviated peacefully and comfortably pass on and just straight up torturing people for kicks. Discomfort is one thing-if it was an ordinary haunted house I'd have zero issues with it. But this guy is brutalizing people, and that's not in any way okay. There's quite a few things in the video mentioned that he's done that go way beyond anything safe, sane, and consensual. Pinning it on the people curious about it rather than the dude who didn't even have an actual safeword in place until recently feels kinda scummy, even if it's "literally why they showed up." Plus, it was mentioned in the video that most of the people who were participating were super underprepared for what went down? That they had no frame of reference to go off of and that the dude literally got to know them before letting them in so he could make the experience traumatizing in a personal way? I draw the line at people having actual PTSD because of this. There's no way in hell this is in any way alright.
The overall vibe I got from McKamey is that he's one of those boomers who believes he is always one step ahead of you. His laid-back, condescending demeanor and his desire for power over people is on full display here. Saying that a guest's heart attack was "good stuff", joke or not, is all the proof you need.
I truly believe this guy is a sociopath that realized he found a loophole in the law for torture. I really hope he gets shut down eventually and someone can study him because the way he gets away with this is wild.
its legit just straight up torture hiding as a haunted house im pretty sure no waiver lets you legally break peoples bones and pull there teeth out on purpose thats not horror thats not fear thats just pain
As many others have stated, this is NOT how extreme haunted houses work - no matter what this man wants you to believe. I've worked in an extreme haunted house in multiple positions, including as an actor on extreme nights. Yes, you sign a document because this DOES push you and your limits - but we always have to abide by the law. That means we cannot, and will not, intentionally put any customer in harm's way. Injuries DO occur, but they are not intended and usually occur when a guest freaks out for whatever reason. If an injury occurs, any play stops immediately for that group and the person is escorted out to get taken care of. What we are allowed to do is to push you and give other 'light' touches - nothing like a serious punch, and CERTAINLY nothing like actually torturing someone! Shouting at you and screaming is commonplace, but we are also trained to recognize when someone should not be pushed any further and pick our targets carefully - as actors we don't want to hurt people, we want to bring that rush of adrenaline, but never let it turn into anxiety or a deep-seated fear. We've had people soil themselves, scream to be let out, cry and all other manner of extreme reactions without going for torture, nor physical or mental violence.. If he wanted a scary haunted house and finds glee in scaring people, alright! There's safe ways to do that! But this is torture, disguised as fun or a challenge.. This will scar you for life. There's a reason this behaviour is NOT allowed, both per the law and per the unwritten rules of extreme haunted houses. If you want an extreme experience, then find a place that takes your safety seriously first and foremost. You do not need to be tortured to feel a rush.
@@itskitt3237 Typically, I think it's the mental stuff more then anything. Same reason people watch horror movies. The rush of being scared without the actual danger.

If this was literally any other set up the guy would be in jail for a life sentence.
If I recall correctly, some guy was minutes away from winning the 20K reward when Russ broke it off for "safety reasons". He never intended to let anyone finish, because even if they did, he'd just scam them out of the price money at the end. Besides that, some dumbasses wanna test their physical limits presuming they are of course aware what they sign up for and some sadistic psycho living his wet dream doesn't really bother me that much.
Yep true. That guys has spoken out about it several times. He reassured he was ready to move forward and keep going but of course Russ is broke and was never going to let anyone win.
Hes a sadist that has found a legal loophole to practice his craft. Ive known about that place for awhile and am shocked he hasn't been shut down yet! And this IS NOT a haunt! It's torture and degradation
I personally spoke with Russ on video chat one night after saying that I've seen love videos of him kicking people out who were successful. He started recording me via video camera, trying to get me angry, and then threatened me with law enforcement. He is a compulsive liar who uses interrogation tactics to manipulate people. Look at the young woman he dated in the past few years. Completely twisted their heads up. He won't let you win. At all. He's just a spectacle and a coward.
The way that girl was put to the top of a waiting list and brought in the next day is really fucking revealing. Shows how he's just doing it for his sick, sick pleasure.
That was my feeling as well. Also, the fact he spends time with the people beforehand Just adds to his pleasure i have to assume. I assume he's looking for a certain type of personality, same as a hypnotist looks for easily suggestable people. This dude is legitimately disturbing and dark as fuck.
@Satan People go to these attractions for a fun spook, not a panic attack. Don't go in acting like it's the customer's fault when this psychopath literally simulates a kidnapping, people go to these attractions for a quick, fun scare with the lads, not to be chased around, traumatized and literally kidnapped. This man is a sicko and you know it. Horror doesn't have to be in the form of physical contact, it could be atmospheric, a looming dread, a noise, plenty of things. Horror doesn't specifically have to be physical, and McKamey took it way too far and it doesn't take a genius to figure that out. If someone has a heart attack in your horror establishment, that means you need to tone it down so it doesn't happen again, that's when you know lines are being crossed when someone passes away during your attraction. Many, many other horror attractions know how to handle this business properly, they don't get physical, they rely on visual and atmospheric horror and they never, never keep it going while the customer is literally bawling their eyes out or suffering from a panic attack or about to have a heart attack. Do not pin the blame on the victims, pin it on the jackass who runs this little freak show. Consent doesn't make it okay, you don't murder someone who consents to it because it's still murder and it's still highly illegal regardless of the consent, it's simply common sense.
@Satan Again, consent doesn't make it okay, you don't murder someone because they consented to it, it's still illegal and this, no matter what you think about it is morally incorrect and seriously wrong, again people go to horror attractions to be scared, not tortured. Consent doesn't make it okay, especially if it's something as deplorable and sick as this.

My older brother went to this hellhouse in 2013, He said: At 1st it wasnt that bad, all they did WAS LITERALLY POKE ME, PUNCH ME, SLAP ME, GAG ME, AND RIP MY HAIR OUT. Then after that, they whipped him. Water Boarded him, and literally made him sit in gravel while hot rocks being put on his stomach burning his skin off. He was literally bleeding out at that point and it only had been 2 hours, Then they chained him on a table and forced him to eat a squirrels organ. He had to go in a ambulance and he could not even use his legs or arms barely for 7 months.
I’m sorry he went through that and for the suffering and trauma that must cause your family and himself. These people need to be stopped and locked up forever
I remember when people thought signing up for this hellhole was the best thing to ever happen to them. Meanwhile, it was a sociopaths playground and he disguised it as a simple haunted house.
It's pure insanity that anybody would still sign up for this. Everyone knows what the deal is at this point and if the waiting list is still thousands long, idk what is wrong with those people, but they may need serious psychological or psychiatric help. He says "I'd be in jail, lawsuits, etc..." But the law in his area said "we *cant"* stop him because of waivers signed", so that defense falls flat. I assume SD county was on his ass too and wouldn't look the other way any longer either, so he ran and claimed it was the taxes and cost of living. That's an opinion, but it's not any more outlandish than what his "defense" is. It's not ok, and the milk toast bs excuses that he uses to "exonerate" himself without anyone actually overseeing it and there being no good way to spin this other than by lying or manipulating the conversation, as he tries to do. If lasting harm can be done, it's clearly more dangerous than he is willing to admit and than local law enforcement will admit either Btw, you're beautiful. Js.

Something I learned in AP psych recently: you can’t perform hypnosis on someone without a medical license to do so. So if when he says he is “hypnotizing” the people into letting him know your worst fears, it’s illegal no matter what angle you see it at
I don't believe he's actually hypnotising people because you have to be very relaxed, willing and open to be hypnotised-you don't just keep repeating words like he said in this vid and stuff like that, I've a feeling that is just a red herring to get into people's heads (which is different from hypnosis). All hypnosis is is suggestion and that's likely why he doesn't have a license-because he doesn't practice it

I'm suprised no one has tried suing for civil damages. Sure legally, the police might not get involved, but that doesn't mean you can't sue him civilly for damages suffered, and if there really is a consent form, there might be an argument that you're not signing up for all that happens to you and thus there is a breach of contract, like with the person who suffered a heart attack, I doubt a Judge/Jury will find that a person willingly signed up to be given a heart attack.
It's actually strange because the opposite should be true. You can't sue for civil torts with a waiver, but this shouldn't make any difference to McKamey's criminal liability. If someone were to report this as an assault, I have no idea how (as someone who works in criminal law - albeit not in the states) the police would be able to say the waiver prevents them to pursuing charges. You can't consent to being the victim of a crime - there are plenty of cases to prove it. I have no idea what that officer was talking about honestly.

Here in Germany, that waiver/contract wouldn't count for anything in court because it is immoral ("sittenwidrig"). I am not a lawyer but I am pretty sure that in Germany "It was totally okay for us to seriously injure this person on purpose in a way that they will have lasting damage to their body or might be killed... because they signed a contract beforehand that says so" will not keep you out of trouble.
Then that is another thing I wish the US would do that Germany is doing. Cult leaders here are allowed to horribly abuse their followers here because “it’s consensual,” and I just think that is so wrong. If you watch the Nvxim documentary...the police had to be convinced to intervene. 🙄😣
This guy used to live near me back when he was still in California. That house terrified us as kids (he kept horror decorations out all year), and the stuff that went on in there (mainly the waterboarding) was a local legend with all of us. I had assumed that the stuff we said as kids were rumors, and until I watched this video, I had no idea that house was internationally known and actually as bad as our kid legends told. Awesome video dude, it was crazy to learn how bad that house actually was.
Your old peers must have said stuff like the owner of the house would put you in a pit for trespassing on his backyard and would send out his members of the household to torment you from sneaking in. As well as driving a van to kidnap kids so he can torture thrm and lock them in the basement.
dude that video of the girl and a couple other actors calling him out to his face, that’s great, i can’t believe he had people on his side during that too
There is no length of waiver that makes illegal things legal (unless you’re joining the military). There is such a thing as an unconscionable contract. At some point somebody is going to be either affluent or ambitious enough to involve a lawyer with this. Kinda surprised it hasn’t happened already.
Law enforcement is such a joke. Wtf do they mean they "can't do anything?" Even if they can't get him on harsher charges like assault (or even torture, in some of these cases) because of the waiver, they could easily charge him with something like disturbing the peace. Clearly, if the neighbors keep calling the cops on him, they're being disturbed... right?
@@Player-jh4ko The participants signing waivers have absolutely nothing to do with his neighbors constantly feeling harassed by his inconsiderate antics.
@@Player-jh4ko No it doesn't. The neighbors didn't sign any permissive waivers. He has no right to perform actions that are incessantly disturbing the people around him. The waivers only prevent him from being charged by the people who sign them.
He’s been getting sick kicks on hurting these people for years. It’s not a game, or some funny entertainment. This is human lives ruined at the hands of this mans exploitation.
How did people not know this going in?! Even if a visitor never heard of the infamy ahead of time, my question 8s this: did the physical/psychological exams and doctors notes mean nothing? Did that not clue you in at all? Not to mention, he's gotten tons of press and exposure over the years, so I don't really buy that people had no idea what they were in for. It's like going to North Korea after that kid died for allegedly trying to steal a poster or whatever, and being surprised when you get framed for the same thing.
@@JK-gm6kk the video literally included a clip of a girl saying how it was far more than expected because the videos about the tours of that time came out years later
@@phaeste yeah, because people totally stopped going after those videos were released. We all know that those videos completely killed off his brand. We all know that the manor doesn't exist anymore.
OH MY GOD. This house was right down the street from where I grew up. There was always this one house that went way way too far on halloween, into the late hours, you could hear screams, etc. There was always a huge line to get in. I think this was the beginnings of that house! How insane. I never went it, I'm not a fan of jump scare haunted houses.
Wait hold up-- McKamey himself said deputies should look into drug abuse when it's written on the waiver that you might be forced to take medications that will make you hallucinate or sedate you??
the waiver basically says you give away your every right to them, allowing them to do any harm those are just examples. Who truly knows what he’s done when there wasn’t cameras.
Never forget the story of the ex-marine who came close to actually winning the grand prize for the full time, but McKamey cut the game off short "for his safety". He's a psycho.
It can't just be me, but the guy's insistence on domination and humiliation even outside of the manor in how he interacts with the "guests" feels somewhat perverse. Those aspects in particular feel unnecessary outside of the manor and that he's doing it because he simply enjoys having that power He's an entertainer alright, but how personal he tries to get with the guests experience and the involvement of his dominating and humiliating actions says to me a lot of that entertainment is for himself His own cast members coming out and saying its not just for the haunt, but that he gets off on torturing people only really solidifies this.
Not defending the guy but you do realize lots of people have had heart attacks at regular carnival haunted houses? Sometimes when you have a heart condition a tiny little jump scare will set it off.
They had a documentary on him on Netflix. My husband watched it ( I hate this stuff). Even he was grossed out once he realized what it was. He had just heard of it. There is a part where they show his neighbor and had her speak of all the stuff he did to her in this torture house. And then had him explain what he did to her. All you can see is his sick glee as he speaks. He has her so manipulated it’s sickening. I looked at my husband and said that’s a guy who probably is a serial killer, if he’s not (yet) I’m surprised. And that I can’t believe this is actually allowed. It’s not funny or entertaining. It’s torture. There is no sugarcoating that.
Imma need a source on that one bud. Predators are literally KOS in prisons. I guess you mean that some predators don't end up going to prison (which is a fucking travesty) but like being a nonce means you can't get a job, you'll have no friends, your family will disown you and of course you can go prison and often do. So I fail to see how society "blatantly" protects predators.
Kyle rittenhouse shot a pedophile and half the country rejoiced on the pedo getting what he deserved, what ducking country do you live in where people protect predators?
StuG Life I highly suggest you look into people like Dahvie Vanity and Onision, who are both child predators and have been outed as predators for years and have faced zero legal consequences.
Libel is a verb that fits that sentence's context well. Given the phrasing/context of the rest of the "waiver" it probably is a typo and may even have been overlooked specifically because it fits in that sentence's context.
Also, could you imagine somebody got so scared or the lines got so blurred that one of the contestants turned around and attacked one of the people who was torturing them? You know for a fact this leech would turn around and try to sue them in 2 seconds flat.
As someone who lived where this happened in TN, I tired to warn anyone I meet or knew who wanted to do this. I saw past videos. They didn't care. Thanks for the video.

Everything in real life is scary and fucking weirder than fiction , things in life created , inspired our fiction there's endless examples Tremendous video Audrey Keep it up
About a year ago me and a couple friends obsessed over this. We watched videos, did a ton of research, etc. I hat surprises me is that this isn’t very well known, not a lot have heard of Mckamey Manor
Stop because literally 2 hours ago I was looking into this again for the first time in a long time. What a weird coincidence that you just posted this video
I remember me and my friend watched, or skimmed through, some of the McKamey Manor videos when we were younger and that stuff was SICK. We could barely sit through it, imagine actually being there... I remember there being snakes, people locked in coffins, getting their hair shaved off, getting their heads dunked under water by the 'actors.' It is literal torture, I can't believe this guy hasn't been stopped.
I'm seeing too many people say "It's fine because they consented to it." That doesn't make it fine. If your friend wanted to kill themself, would you just say "well it's what they want?" No. If you weren't a shitty friend you'd try to prevent that.
I'd try to talk them out of it, however if they continued killing themselves /went to the mcamey anyway, that's on them not me I tried to be the voice of reason
With how big it is now and how much time you have to research it you do hold some of the blame for willingly doing this, but also I highly doubt any of us can even remotely begin to comprehend the full scope of that hell. I'm guessing most people who participate are those who try to be cool and do something everyone considers insane, only to regret their decision after the first minute. And in case I need to clarify this, even if people are stupid to participate in this today, that's still no excuse for hosting a FUCKING TORTURE HOUSE!
I don't think militaries have ever been humane anywhere or at any point in history though. So I'm wondering if this is a revelation, or just a general observation of something that's ostensibly obvious?
Finally someone! So tired of these people saying “well they consented, so why should I feel bad for them??!” This event and “waiving of rights” is clearly taking advantage of people that are vulnerable and underestimate what the sadists behind this will actually commit to.
There is one, it's called "The Houses that October Built." It's a found-footage movie about a group of friends going to different haunted attractions in search of "the scariest" until they're tipped off about a super intense one (not dissimilar to McKamey Manor). It's... alright. Some spooky moments and with some "so bad it's good" moments
There’s also a similar one called funhouse. Its different cuz at first ppl don’t even realise it’s a torture house and only one of them is going to survive. I don’t recommend watching it though because it’s absolutely awful in terms of plot, cgi and basically everything, but ig it’s so bad that’s it becomes kind of interesting
I read through the agreement/waiver at 15:28 and there's an error in it. In line 74, it reads that the participant can't hold "MM responsible or libel" "Libel" is a form of defamation, like slander They meant "liable" as in "legally responsible" Just in case you needed another reason to doubt the legitimacy of this prick (However, this error does mean that, if this contract is legally binding, then they *are* liable if you black out or suffocate)
His sadism isn't just the things he does, it's that he doesn't give a rip about the effects of what he does or the impact. And he hides behind, "They knew what they were getting."
"ALRIGHT NOW TRIM THESE HEDGES OVER HERE WITH THIS TIRE AROUND YOUR WAIST, YOU LITTLE WORM!!!! WATCH WHERE YOU STEP, THOUGH; DON'T CRUSH THE AZELEAS OVER HERE, AND THEN RIGHT OVER HERE." -Russ McKamey probably, while wearing a Frankenstein mask and a miner's helmet
I will always love your intros, they're mesmerizing every. Single. Time. And after that, it gets even better with the poignant script. All around amazing.

as someone who works in a scare attraction, this is literally just an outlet for psychos. were not allowed to touch anyone, and are trained to recognise when someone is too scared to continue, anything beyond a panic attack is no longer fun for the customers or the staff and is just simply sadistic
I had a phobia of masks so I have never been in haunted house but that makes me happy that places are aware of this for people who are scared!
hence why it is litteraly pointless lol if you are not allowed to touch anyone... the only people going to that and being scared snowflakes.
I went to an extreme haunt with some friends once. One of my friends started crying and having a panic attack while we were chased by someone in the woods and you know what the pursuer did?
He stopped and pretended he lost track of us. And gave us time to help her calm down before we continued.
(There were also people hidden on the sidelines who had cpr training and first aid kits)
People can love scaring and still be decent. McKamy just wants to hurt people

@@KingOfGaymes The problem is that this dude is NOT clear about anything, which is why ex-contestants that did not sign anything and went in without being able to use a safeword exist. I don't know which consensual cannibalism case you're referring to(there are....several💀)but in the most famous 2-3 cases, there was more consent involved(as in, the victim knew in precise detail what was about to happen to them, and desired it)than in the ex-contestants' cases when you think about it lmao

@@JK-gm6kk That's a very out of nowhere question and I don't see how it relates to my comment?
Should family members of a terminally ill patient be allowed to sue because of assisted suicide, even if forms are signed clearing the hospital from wrong doing?
Pinning it on the people curious about it rather than the dude who didn't even have an actual safeword in place until recently feels kinda scummy, even if it's "literally why they showed up."
Plus, it was mentioned in the video that most of the people who were participating were super underprepared for what went down? That they had no frame of reference to go off of and that the dude literally got to know them before letting them in so he could make the experience traumatizing in a personal way? @Satan this coming from Satan 😂😂😂😂
Thank goodness!
What exactly DOES the extreme experience entail when done right?

OH MY GOD. This house was right down the street from where I grew up. There was always this one house that went way way too far on halloween, into the late hours, you could hear screams, etc. There was always a huge line to get in. I think this was the beginnings of that house! How insane. I never went it, I'm not a fan of jump scare haunted houses.
Wait hold up-- McKamey himself said deputies should look into drug abuse when it's written on the waiver that you might be forced to take medications that will make you hallucinate or sedate you??
excuse me WHATS ON THE WAVER
imagine already being on some sort of heavy medication and they fucking force u to take sumn and then u od n ur dead
@@arsal7959 I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet. I’m guessing that’s why they want a doctors note
Imagine being forced to take those meds and then forming an addiction
the waiver basically says you give away your every right to them, allowing them to do any harm those are just examples. Who truly knows what he’s done when there wasn’t cameras.

Never forget the story of the ex-marine who came close to actually winning the grand prize for the full time, but McKamey cut the game off short "for his safety". He's a psycho.
There really are actual villains out there.

@@theomiddleton7603 it did happen. its fake now. It wasnt fake in San Diego.
That $20 000 prize would probably be needed to used for therapy after that traumatic experience
It can't just be me, but the guy's insistence on domination and humiliation even outside of the manor in how he interacts with the "guests" feels somewhat perverse. Those aspects in particular feel unnecessary outside of the manor and that he's doing it because he simply enjoys having that power
He's an entertainer alright, but how personal he tries to get with the guests experience and the involvement of his dominating and humiliating actions says to me a lot of that entertainment is for himself
His own cast members coming out and saying its not just for the haunt, but that he gets off on torturing people only really solidifies this.
"Didn't somebody have a heart attack?"
"W- yeah, but-"
"that was good stuff"
Not defending the guy but you do realize lots of people have had heart attacks at regular carnival haunted houses? Sometimes when you have a heart condition a tiny little jump scare will set it off.
“We can pull your teeth out and break your bones” what kind of crazy person hears that and says sign me up?
Sounds fun lol
Sadists
Somebody dumb and vulnerable
Maybe he thought it was all part of the horror scare act🤷🏼♀️
"If this was illegal, then I'd be in jail." - Uh no? Society blatantly protects predators.
Sad that society is like this.
We truly live in a society, after all
Imma need a source on that one bud.

Errr, no… it was a strategic move. It was obviously planned that way.

I forgot about time zones for a sec lol
This comment is a power move 😉
This isn't "horror", this is just torture with extra steps...
Ehh same thing...
yeah don't actual attractions have some kind of rules.
I love how, in the waiver, they spell "liable" wrong and use the legal term "libel." It made for confusing and then hilarious reading.
Libel is a verb that fits that sentence's context well. Given the phrasing/context of the rest of the "waiver" it probably is a typo and may even have been overlooked specifically because it fits in that sentence's context.
Lol that actually wasn't the only error, either.
Haunted house: relies on spooky sounds, costumes, and actors to bring attraction to life.
McCummie manor: “lmao we’ll beat you up for a bag of dog food”
I don't know if you're already aware, but he wasn't even doing anything with the dog food. His ex did an interview where she revealed he had a scam of doing charity for dogs to convince people he's nice. He would just let the bags sit and rot.

I look it up once every year or two to see any updates. Kinda cool how it resurfaces often too.
to be fair, it was Halloween
THANK YOU👏👏
I'd try to talk them out of it, however if they continued killing themselves /went to the mcamey anyway, that's on them not me I tried to be the voice of reason
I'm not saying that it is fine, but they did consent to it in a way. They brought that to themselves and I can't he but to not feel bad for it...
@@RAT_CHUGGER except not only do most not know, but also, you should still feel kinda bad anyways right?
With how big it is now and how much time you have to research it you do hold some of the blame for willingly doing this, but also I highly doubt any of us can even remotely begin to comprehend the full scope of that hell. I'm guessing most people who participate are those who try to be cool and do something everyone considers insane, only to regret their decision after the first minute.
And in case I need to clarify this, even if people are stupid to participate in this today, that's still no excuse for hosting a FUCKING TORTURE HOUSE!
Not gonna lie, the way he links this whole thing to his military training really reinforces my opinion that the military is painfully inhumane.
There’s a reason if a lot of US soldiers are a wreck after they left the army
@@Dragorosso95 True, true
I don't think militaries have ever been humane anywhere or at any point in history though. So I'm wondering if this is a revelation, or just a general observation of something that's ostensibly obvious?
@@a.nonimus6705 Reinforces. Militaries are always abusive and inhumane but these days we should know better.
Hell, it’s more than an opinion, truly.
hot take: consent is bare basics, not the only requirement for ethics. you cannot consent to abuse, torture, and manslaughter.
Finally someone! So tired of these people saying “well they consented, so why should I feel bad for them??!” This event and “waiving of rights” is clearly taking advantage of people that are vulnerable and underestimate what the sadists behind this will actually commit to.
Honestly, story about torture house mascarading as haunted house attraction could be a basis for a good horror movie.
@@ulraiz aw dude the book by dean Koontz is awesome it's a lot different though but Im not sure if their related
I read through the agreement/waiver at 15:28 and there's an error in it. In line 74, it reads that the participant can't hold "MM responsible or libel"
"Libel" is a form of defamation, like slander
They meant "liable" as in "legally responsible"
Just in case you needed another reason to doubt the legitimacy of this prick
(However, this error does mean that, if this contract is legally binding, then they *are* liable if you black out or suffocate)
His sadism isn't just the things he does, it's that he doesn't give a rip about the effects of what he does or the impact. And he hides behind, "They knew what they were getting."
The funny part is what he did after he moved and lost his funding, the "haunt" was just hard tasks in his backyard with a nonexistent cash prize
"ALRIGHT NOW TRIM THESE HEDGES OVER HERE WITH THIS TIRE AROUND YOUR WAIST, YOU LITTLE WORM!!!! WATCH WHERE YOU STEP, THOUGH; DON'T CRUSH THE AZELEAS OVER HERE, AND THEN RIGHT OVER HERE."
