KSI is a frustrating figure when it comes to a lot of online beef, he's been in the right more than the wrong over the years but he just can't be right without making it a bit of an ego trip. Like the recent event where ispeedshow was bugging him to box him because he thought he was stronger, KSI was right from the beginning that it wasn't gonna be a good idea and that he wouldn't win but my god does he like to play shit up.

She wasn't the one that hurt old fans. It was Adam who did these things in the first place. Hearing their voice made me nostalgic and it's a bizarre form of whiplash to know that they've done so much to hurt people. It feels wrong.

I was taught at work and certain other resources that there's 8 different types of abuse: physical, sexual, emotional, mental, psychological, economic, intimidation, harassment, and stalking. This man hit all of them.

Emotional abuse is specifically used to demean and create a sense of worthless in the victim; convincing them that the abuse is deserved. It’s also typically tied to verbal abuse (name calling, shaming, humiliation, demeaning). This is the destruction of self esteem, the deterioration of mental health (causing depression/attachment issues), and low self worth.
Physiological/mental abuse would be more like gaslighting, guilt tripping, manipulation (but typically in the sense that they make you second guess yourself/your actions: e.g. am I really being abused?). This is the destruction of mental well being, cause of paranoia, heightened anxiety, and [mental] self doubt.
They have a lot of similarities and often overlap, but they also have distinctive differences.

Honestly a lot of his behaviors during videos show a lot of red flags. One in particular was how he’d constantly provoke Max (who had anger issues) to snap and encourage others to do the same. Max wasn’t jokingly laughing along or enjoying it, he just was frustrated.
There were a couple other signs too, but I didn’t notice them as a kid.
When I was younger I thought Max’s anger was ‘a character performance’ he was putting on. I thought there’s no way Max would hangout with someone who intentionally angered him.
I honestly never thought about this as a kid. I always thought it was “haha max is angry again XD” which was probably how none of us saw it for so long.

know what the worst part of this was? Alesa has been defending herself for years. all this information was out in the open, and she was still villainized. it was only after a tweet got viral that people finally saw that Sky was the bad parent. they literally weaponized a young fanbase to harass her.

@@MiNoSabee yes, but all the allegations of Adam abusing her were no where near the intensity of him. Not defending her, but you could see it as more of a defensive abuse after all she took. I myself for the longest time felt bad for him, and lately, I hate myself for doing it.

As someone who has been hurt multiple times by horrendous excuses of human beings that just so happened to call themselves content creators, it always hurts. It never hurt any less compared to the first time even through D1, ZeRo, RelaxAlax, Ryan Haywood, CreepyProduce, MiniLadd, Lui Calibre, and Ohmwrecker, and now I'm finding out that SkyDoesMinecraft one-uped literally everyone I just mentioned (which says a lot considering both Ryan Haywood and MiniLadd are on that list).

I used to be huge into this youtuber called CreepyProduce. He got me back into MarioKart Wii and I thought he was just the funniest guy. Then I went to his channel one day and found out my favorite youtuber at that point had several explicitly sexual conversation with a fifteen year old fan. Saddest part is he is still on youtube (with heavily monitored comments I'm sure) and has an audience of teens that probably have no idea what he did.

As sad as it is that Adam chose to continue the cycle of abuse, we gotta give Liz so much more credit for being the hero of this story. This woman stood up to a person who had everyone intimidated by them because of how well they preserved their image. Because of her voice, everyone's voices were heard.

What makes this particularly terrifying for me is how similar Adam sounds (especially the Lizbuggie section) to my mother- she was absolutely insane and even had a black magic phase in which she’d put spells on people she was cheating on my father with late into the night- these type of people definetly exist

It's never easy to see someone you idolize be revealed to be a bad person. If you looked up to Sky there's no shame in that, there's no shame in looking back at those memories fondly. That doesn't mean you should continue to support them.

@@alisana8346 Please don't forget that most of the people who "looked up to Adam" looked up to them when they were 10-15 years old while they were making Minecraft content. Sky's content was made and directly tailored for this demographic; I don't hold my 12-year-old self for being infatuated with a celebrity because that's what 12-year-olds do. Even if I wasn't still attached to Sky when all of this came out, it still hurts because of the good memories that I had from them during that time in my life.

@@alisana8346 My point was that most of the people disappointed by this particular situation weren't actively following Sky, but are rather past fans of theirs. I agree that we shouldn't idolize celebrities, but in this case, saying that is kind of preaching to the choir.
Again, completely agree with your point - and it's definitely important to take this as a lesson for why we should avoid idolization in the future - but the people here were probably not actively idolizing Sky when this all went down.
Let's just take a moment to appreciate stampy, captain sparkles, and dantdm for not being bad after all these years
I actually feel like a horrible person. As a kid I looked up to that guy and was a fan and now that I know all the stuff that people went through, that I helped to perpetuate by supporting him during those events, I just feel so disgusted in my self. While I didn't support him very strongly or anything substantial, I still turned a blind eye to it all and just nodded. I was a kid and didn't know any better and, like "j aubrey" said in the video, was blinded by the haze of nostalgia. I just wish I could go back and stop myself from doing that. But now all I want to do is support the people that were harmed by the events of the past and push them to move on and heal from those scars. Thank you J Aubrey, cause now I know the facts and the truth and can move on with the new knowledge.

Recovering takes time, and based on everything that happened, it sounds {to me at least} like it'll take a lot of time to recover from something that big. I want to support them too. I just want to reiterate that you can have mental health difficulties AND be a bad person!! This is an evil man, people who suffer with bipolar and psychosis don't all act this way - we're not monsters!

I appreciate that their girlfriend said "You told me you were bipolar and had issues and that was never a problem for me." The two aren't synonymous. I've met plenty of evil people with a "clear bill of mental health"; and many kind people who had their mental health struggles. Let's keep working towards breaking down that stigma.
This bears repeating. People with mental illness are more likely to be the victims of domestic violence than the perpetrators.
I got diagnosed w severe anxiety and may be bipolar myself, watching this was pretty sobering cuz ngl I’ve had my own behavioral problems (smashing shit up, being manipulative, always feeling sick, etc), and the problem is that Adam never tried to get better. I’m currently on Zoloft now and I’ve quit most of my substances and I’m in therapy, but I had to be willing to take those steps and frankly, when u have as much money/clout as Adam had, getting better for the sake of your friends doesn’t matter when there will always be ppl around u regardless of how u treat em

Just a reminder, these people who are being ousted for their disgusting behaviour did not "make your childhood" and that's really important. The idea that people express themselves by consuming content is really weird. If a UA-camr you used to like turns out to be a garbage human being why would you think that in any way reflects on your growth? In fact I'd argue that if the consumer choices a person makes has *that* big of an effect on their identity they have a ton more growing to do.

Your admiration of Tobuscus as a kid is pretty relatable. I was an avid Sky fan as a young kid and even met Adam briefly at a Team Crafted event in Los Angeles when I was 13. Out of all the members of the group, Adam was the most distant towards the fans, talking to event staff and blatantly ignoring people just coming to say hello. It probably isn’t surprising that the energy between Sky and other members (especially Bajan) was ICY. Still, I just passed all this stuff off as a celebrity being exhausted by undue scrutiny. I never thought that, at age 21, I’d be watching a video essay about SkyDoesMinecraft LITERALLY threatening to kill AntVenom. I know that isn’t even the worst of his actions. This whole thing throws me for a loop. 😅
I was upset with Alesa when the diss tracks came out but now, I am horrified to find out that I supported him. My niece who was around 11 at the time, would live his videos, now she got rid off all the Sky merchandise. It makes me cry because I went through a relationship like that.

Parasocial relationships have been around at least since the dawn of TV, but the rise of social media has made them worse. People think following someone's social media accounts means they're getting to know the real person, but those interactions are just as mediated as watching someone on a TV screen.
I think most of us can say we had an obsessive minecraft phase, with that one minecraft specific youtuber we idolized. As much as I didn't want to know such dark parts of such an important part in my life, I feel it's necessary. Thanks for bringing light to this, I feel a weird mix of sadness and clarity.

I worked for Adam in December or January of 2016. The office was...interesting. Adam's puppy kept shitting in my office. They basically told me to just steal everything from Google for content instead of making the content by hand like I thought I was hired to do. Adam was very nice to me, but he seemed really sad and manic. I didn't know who he was when I was hired, or anyone in that community for that matter, so that made me not worth getting to know I guess because I was pretty much forgotten about and ignored. I remember having to talk to Alesa briefly but she never even looked at me the whole time and just seemed really distant. I see why now. I remember how hard he grilled me that I didn't know who Post Malone was because he was from Syracuse and I was from Syracuse. I quit after a month and a half because it was just so gross in there, the general vibe was not good, and their lax attitude towards stealing others' artwork and cutting corners did not sit well with me. The CTO walked me out the backdoor and Adam and the CTO wouldn't let me say goodbye to anyone and told me to pack my stuff immediately, no box. I got a severance package of $5000, so it worked out but it was not a good working environment and it was a very dark time.

Me too. Like, I can't believe I watched that guy from elementary school all up until he became NetNobody. I would even go back and watch some of his old videos in late highschool for nostalgia. He, Ross, Mithzan, etc really made my life and childhood better because they were an escape from some stuff I had to grow up dealing with. Now, I just see the horrible monster Adam is and I can't watch or remember those videos the same anymore. It's awful just how many people a lot of us looked up to as kids turn out to be bad people.

It's hard to believe for some people but after seeing almost every single content creator I loved and watched get cancelled I'm not surprised. I'm really not. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the whole minecraft community ends up being child predators or serial abusers. Literally it all started with Tobuscus(accused of sexual assault, battery, domestic violence and drug abuse). Then jinbop(aka Starlit Zhao, there's an entire court case along with arrest info, mug shot, and release date), then lionmaker, miniladd, Callmecarson, and now sky.
Honestly the worst sin that SkyDoesMinecraft did was make it so that his diss-tracks subtitles were in comic sans, his career should have ended there for his crime against humanity.

Max and Ross were (I think) the first to jump ship after Team Crafted started going down, and then they just rode the wave until minecraft started picking back up, they don't really do much minecraft anymore, except for their mini games, parkour, and hide and seek. Right now Max actually has 2 ongoing series, one of a game he and his friends made, after Among Us got taken over by the 8 year olds called Goose Goose Duck, and a Raft series nearly at its end.

Sadly, like every one of his viewers, we wanted to work at Sky Media, because it was of the "coolest places ever". However that can't be further from the truth. Max admitted the place was an digesting pigsty to work in and that Adam had two schedules, one for when he would come in when he felt like it and one for when everyone was "ungrateful" to him. Alesa admitted she worked there, even though it wasn't a known fact and she was basically Adam's ride to work, but when Adam didn't want to go in, she couldn't either, so she couldn't make money when he didn't want to go in AND that Adam sang a love song for another female co-worker in front of Alesa while everybody was watching, leaving people confused.
Honestly, the stories I read about how Adam treated people were horribly digesting and they still give me goosebumps for how bad they were!

Holy shit, I was wondering when people were gonna start talking about this more. Adam was successful in destroying the reputations of his old "friends" so much that people don't even pay attention to them anymore which caused the majority of people miss what happened. It sucks that so much was happening but due to the age of most of his fan base at the time,no one ever noticed. Alesa was villanized for trying to be a good mother and Adam capitalized off of the hate long enough to figure out a new way to exploit his fans for money. I hate knowing I supported him as long as I did, but I also can't hold it against me or others because of our ages at the time most of this happened. I myself am only 19 now. I was barely a teenager when I started watching the videos, and I can definitely say I'm not going to be watching anymore.

They were my childhood and I loved watching the old office videos and Minecraft videos. Adam was the one to get me into Minecraft and ofc Max and Ross. Adams will always be my childhood and I will always have a place for their videos in my heart. I said their videos since they turned out to be the bad guy. honestly i saw everything about adam coming when ross left. the way ross talked about adam despite how much of a nice person ross was told me i wasn't hearing the full story. everyone before that point there was some way to excuse it, twist it, or ignore that sky was the cause of it, but with ross i knew that him leaving was a big warning flag that pulled the rest of his many friends abandoning him in a new light.
The thing about the dog truly horrifies me because there was no purpose to that except to make it suffer and possibly cause it do die and make Liz hurt. As someone that defended Adam from Alesa's allegations over the years, this hurts me a lot. It's frightening how effectively Adam twisted the story to paint Alesa (and others) as the villain, weaponizing his large fanbase against those that attempted or considered speaking out. Adam is such a terrible person, and I've stopped following Adam on all social media platforms.

Now that I'm an adult in my early 20s, I've learned that anybody can put on a charade in front of a camera but be the complete opposite when the camera isn't rolling (and SkyDoesMinecraft is a perfect example of this internet double life that got 12-year-old me hooked with his stuff).

Wow, I had only seen SunnyV2’s video on the situation and he made it seem so one dimensional. He had this weird angle where he thought that sky bringing up that he had a feelings a few times on camera made the entire community view him as a low value soyboy with no confidence. Which just seemed weird and biased wasn’t really adding up to a clear story. Of course we didn’t have the whole story then but we did have a lot of it. To tell you the truth, I think it’s a mixture of multiple different factors.
1) lots of Minecraft UA-camrs had tough teenage years at school - hence going into Minecraft, but always keeping a chip on their shoulder about their experience
2) their egos go massive because of so many people watching them and sending them kind letters and gifts - but their remains a certain dissonance because they are ‘just Minecraft UA-camrs’ and feel that they are a little pathetic that this is what they do all day. (Hence the constant desire for many of them to branch out into other ventures)
3) they spend all their time online, which means gross sexual degeneracy, brainlet takes and lots of echo chambers. Such an environment almost encourages abuse.
There are other things I’m sure, but these three main reasons are much if the cause I think.

I feel so bad for Liz. From all she wrote it sounded like she really did love him and he just continued to hurt her again and again, not treating her like anything but a baby maker and an object. I'm very happy she's gotten away from him and I hope she gets the love she deserves.

There's a difference between being mentally ill and just being an abuser. He has a fundamental problem with his personality. You make sound like this was all due to a mental disorder and his only mistake was not taking his medication properly. The people who knew him said he acted like this even when he was stable.

I have bipolar and OCD (20% of bipolar people have OCD and it makes your bipolar more “extreme” as you have an even higher suicidality). I say this to explain that my bipolar is a bit more complex than the average-but still not uncommon, 20%!! . And I have NEVER been violent towards others.
Mania for me manifested in other common ways for mania to manifest-extreme spending ( I once spent a $15,000 student loan in 3 days on notebooks, pens, and scarves 🤷♀️😳🤷♀️😂😂), extreme goals and arrogance ( once thought that I was going to compete in the next Olympics as a marathoner despite being morbidly obese), irritability, hyper focus, forgetting to eat, and inability to sleep. Bipolar people are not ALL violent and it is not your destiny. Promise!

The conversation shown about the abuse given to Liz really f*cked me up mentally, anytime I see Adam or Jin on screen I immediately feel scared/uncomfortable, seeing Ross and Adam next to each other in that one clip made my stomach turn. I remember being a kid that wanted to do UA-cam as a job and someday join Sky Media. Sky/Adam made almost the entirety of my childhood, their videos were a safe space for me, since I was constantly bullied and harassed at school, I could go home, laugh, forget my horrible day. As someone who also had to escape a horrible relationship, I can not imagine the fear that Liz has gone through. I don’t know if I can even find nostalgia in Adam’s videos anymore. I feel sick to even watch. If he really wanted to live a good life, treat your friends better, see UA-cam as a hobby and not a job, because this is what happens. Fellow people who watched Sky/Adam as a kid, I hope you’re doing okay.
Their fame gives us a rare in depth glimpse of the dangers of mental illness. Their reported behavior shows that this person was deeply disturbed and needed real help, really sad hearing how it affected those around them so brutally.
Hearing Liz recount such a horrifying time in her life is so heartbreaking. I can’t imagine having to endure that especially while pregnant. I’m glad everyone who had to silently suffer as well as those who spoke out and faced the wrath of their fans are finally getting vindicated. I hope everyone they’ve hurt are able to heal, especially the mothers of their children.

I remember watching Keem’s interview with Adam and them just breaking down over not being able to support Mason as a parent. It disgusts me to my core just how much I sympathized with them. I hope Alyssa, Ross, Liz, everyone ever effected by their manipulation and abusive behavior, can rest and find better lives without Adam anywhere near them.

It's likely that the emotions and what he was saying were at least partially true; but the instance itself was exploited so that he could have people on his side.
Either that or he has lied so much that he believed his own horseshit.

It's kinda funny how people can't even stick to the "they/them" pronouns in just a few sentences. Shows how absolutely pointless it is.
To say I am speechless would be a severe understatement. I'm not one to usually comment on such sensitive issues but it really does hit different to know that somebody you looked up to for so long was not who you thought they were. Not to mention that my other idols were subject to the horrors off screen. And I fell into the trap of believing Sky; I have never felt dumber.
I sure hope that everyone involved gets therapy of sorts. And that Alesa and Liz's children get taken into more safe arms. Huge props for Liz to being the first to speak out; I can only imagine how terrifying it was, but this is the first step to justice.
I was one of those 13 yrs old back in the days, he was really funny and kept me a companionship during a really lonesome phase of my life. At a certain point i stopped looking at him since i changed the games i was playing and I never heard of him again until yesterday that i found this video, and as you said multiple times, its really hard to have a childhood hero ruined. I feel so sorry for the state that he is rn but mostly i shed tears for all the people around him for what he did during the last years. I'm so sorry for everyone in this tragic story, i may now look at the past with a bitter-sweet view point but at least i know the truth.

Of all the people that J Aubrey has talked about, this one hurt the most. To see someone I respected, and even tried to emulate when I was younger, fall so far from grace is heartbreaking. The worst part is, if I had the same vapid growth that Adam had, I could have turned out the same way. I'm so glad that I had and still have such supportive friends so that I never turned out like this horrible, disgusting person.
Seems like he showed lots of signs early, and people dismissed it, or disregarded the people talking about it, or even blatantly defended him and harassed them.

From all the information, adam was a product of what happens to someone who was neglected/abused in childhood with possibly developing a mental illness along the way. A tragedy that unfolded made by a mentally unstable man that was given too much power, and didn't get help.
Being a former fan, while I condemn him for all the torturous things he's done that's reached far past the point of forgiveness, I do hope the man finds some professional help. Drastic professional help. It's clear that his quality of life is in the drain, with seemingly 0 long term personal connection to anyone. Even if just to atone for all the harm he has caused to all those around him, and himself. Even as a deeply horrible person, no one deserves to be chained to their demons.

I’m 21 now but I was watching Adam in 2012-whenever he started Sky Media and wasn’t on social media then this popped up on my feed randomly and this is honestly incredibly heartbreaking but not surprising. I’ve heard a few things over the years but never thought it was this bad. It sucks that someone that created such a fun childhood for me turned out to be the most despicable person I’ve ever seen. Well glad he got what he deserved and is incredible irrelevant now
i watched adam and the whole team since i was really young, but i kept watching ross and max after i realized adam wasn’t a great person. i was so young, i never even realized they had problems and it never occurred to me that there was contracts involved let alone money. that’s how young i was
as i’ve gotten older and heard all the truths come out, it’s broken my heart more and more. i hope the best for ross and max, and i will always continue to support them. i cannot believe a person who brought me so much joy when i was innocent was dealing with intense and unstable mental disorders, and manipulating and abusing his coworkers.

@@tonyisnotdead it can be. It’s a sign that the person doesn’t respect anyone. Especially when there’s no reason to talk over people. Also Adam does it in other people’s videos either. Seto’s videos for example. I can only think of one video where Adam treated Seto like a person and even then it was because everyone found what happened funny. (< I don’t know if that makes sense. I’m really bad at explaining myself)
But I guess it can be a cultural difference? I’m from a country where respect is highly, HIGHLY valued with unspoken “rules” (for the lack of a better word) and such. Not speaking over others with very little exceptions is a major one.

This comment brings me comfort. I grew up with sky for a long time, he was my hero as a kid and as a teenager. His music got me through college. I couldn’t stomach the video. I’m not brave enough to stomach the video. He was one of the last sacred things in my childhood that I hold dear and ... my mental health isn’t in the best shape either. I agree, I will still hold those memories dear to me, but I’m not gonna ignore what he’s done... I’ll watch this video one day, just not now...
Finding out people whose work you enjoy are terrible human beings isn't something that's limited to the current generation. It's been happening since the rise of mass media. There's a drummer I really like named Jim Gordon. He played on a ton of records back in the late 60s and 70s and I love listening to him play. As that was before my time, I didn't really know anything about Jim Gordon. Eventually I learned he was in prison because he murdered his mother in 1983. I love The Beatles but I also know John Lennon abused his first wife. People are really into Michael Jackson but it's incredibly obvious he was a child molester. In all those cases and the one concerning Sky that knowledge shouldn't do anything to make your past enjoyment of their work somehow wrong. I don't think it should effect your enjoyment of their work in the future after you learn the awful truth about them. The art is not the artist.
I remember an old video from Sky saying that the reason Team Crafted fail was because they were these young guys that suddenly got immense popularity, fame and money. I always took that as trying to keep my feet on the ground at all times
And while that may have been a reason, Adam seems to have been the biggest problem all this time
