What a beautiful lineup. Wish Mike could muscle up one more Steps album or a tour with these same guys again. Mikes not been active in past few years getting up in his mid 80s. He is a legend himself as well as the Steps bands and lineups from Brecker to Evans, to Gomez to Bailey, Bona, Stern, Khan, Grolnic... just so many greats involved with this legendary band.

All the credit and respect to the whole band!!! tremendous to be on that stage you need courage!! Bill Evans,Mike Stern, Richard Bona,Steve Smith,Mike Menerie,!!!
To love Michael is one thing, to admire him is something else, to love him is to make him infinitely great and unforgettable, which is true, I feel him in me as a comunion, he spoke to me as being one of the most great figure of cotemporain jazz, it is so wonderful, it still arouses today so much vocation, one simply likes it, that Randi is proud of his brother. I absolutely love Mr. Michael Brecker it is unforgettable. It's the best, the biggest, I'm sad to know that he's gone to another place that I do not like when we're too young to go see the end door. I love him infinitely, I am a little, but am a human being and he would have loved me I am sure and certain. Thanks to you Michael, peace and love in your heart and your life that your death is beautiful to you and that it allows you to be the happiest man in the world, when I listen to you like at this moment, I am convinced of your great humanity and your enormous desire to be a loving man, I love you deeply.
Does anyone know what happened to former sax player Bendik?....saw him with the band and Rachel Z back in the 90's at IMAC on Long Island....excellent show.
Its wield to hear these d rummers who strive to become better. Some times i like their sound better before they “improved” . Maybe its just my unrefined pallet🤔 just steak or lobster really i love both. I think i like the stank is all just not so literal. But just mho

clancywiggam..lol actually some guitarists will not practice unless they have electricity because they suck without special effects. of course these guys just use distortion to get chicks and money

Richard Bona is not only a great bass-player but also a wonderful singer.
Michael Brecker... will be missed

That was really beautiful what you said. Michael Brecker was a true musical treasure and a humble gentleman as well.
Steve Smith is an incrdible propeller... with a twist here an there. Great, great drummer.
JAZZ MASTERS!!!!!!! OF JAZZ MUSIC!!!!!!!
They very steps ahead of time...Greats for ever..
big respect for bill evans! after michael, who would be brave enough to take his succession?
Excelente momento, grandes músicos.
Thank you !!
Great, very high emotions 🙏🍻
Great lineup. Excellent post. Timeless music.
magic mike and some more magicians

Ahí no está Michael Brecker. Esta Bill Evans en el saxofón.
Too bad the poor image quality, but the show is great. All great musicians that I love.
Sempre bello ascoltarli
agree, absolutely .. my fave as well
Awesome band
I really feel good , Wibes an' everyth. I luv u!
Hi. I was actually at this concert. It is from the Vitoria Gasteiz festival in 2006.
great play-along for bass players!! :-)
"wishing well" is a brilliant tune
Gracias. Thank you!
SUPER !!!
Thanks !!!
Cool!!!
THANK YOU!! :)
I like the sound Bill Evans gets on soprano on this.
Bona truly upgraded the band.
Mike should still be using the synth with the vibes, imo, that was a cool sound, maybe some new modern patches, etc.
the best Bill Evens !
Does anyone know what happened to former sax player Bendik?....saw him with the band and Rachel Z back in the 90's at IMAC on Long Island....excellent show.
This first tune, did Weather Report do it, too, or is it just reminding me of it?
jazzernauts NOPE , SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING FROM WR THOUGH...
what's the name of the first tune? Had it in my ears for more than a week but couldn't find out!?
It's Beirut, from the album 'Magnetic'. Make sure to check out the version with Brecker on EWI from 'Live in Tokyo'. It's awesome!
deetgeluid
thx a lot! will do!

without Michael Brecker, cannot come true unfortunately...
Big shoes to fill
I hear that JB lick
Anyone out there who knows whether or not MIKE M. ever got a chance to meet LIONEL HAMPTON?
Bona on the money. Not really so with Mainieri and Smith in the forst tune. Maybe the monitors but saved by Evans and Stern in the end
NOT SHORT OF MASTERS IN THIS VERSION OF STEPS!!! ....as of any version of Steps is short on Masters!!
No bass till 2:45? Been there, sound engineers should get docked pay for screw ups, then I guarantee we'd all sound great all the time.
Es Vitoria, no Barcelona
My Bad! LOL
magnificent segment from 5:30 - 6:30 !!
elsewhere it seems to me smith is dragging occasionally
Dragging...?! I do NOT agree! Steve is a great drummer, swinging and keeping everything in place...
with all due respect to Bill Evans it's not the same without Mike
I love you bill but listen to the actual record next time...you're playing the head wrong! The solo makes up for it though, great stuff as always
Beiruit

you know you are getting old when you just want acoustic guitar
Haha, and acoustic bass and a piano. I think I'm on the wrong page!
clancywiggam..lol

Aparte de su atuendo podrías criticarlo musicalmente?
