Hi friends. This 20K proof of funds requirement seems a bit too much for a short duration visit. But it has to be followed because Thai immigration officers are doing random checks and demanding to see proof of funds from some of the visitors. Please share your views and visit experience.
@sugatochattopadhyay6952 Hi. Yes, there are different entry rules for different countries. For India, currently visa exemption is there, but perhaps after Nov 11, 2024, visa on arrival will be back. Or, they may extend visa exemption for another 6 months. We will know in the first week of November.
I just booked my flight and only staying for 60 days, Travelling out next month from the United Kingdom , so when I get to Bangkok airport, only thing I need to show at immigration is my Passport, or is there any other documents required ? 🤔 Thanks
@awesomethailand8977 Hi. There is no form, no photo, and no fee. You will need a return air ticket for leaving Thailand within 60 days, confirmed hotel bookings, a passport with a minimum remaining validity of six months, boarding card of the flight on which you arrived, and proof of funds equal to or more than 20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family. Since you are planning to stay for 60 days, be prepared to answer questions about the source of funds because, obviously, you will spend more than 20,000 Baht during your stay.
@@desiyatri Thank you for the info, very much appreciated. With the funds, I usually take cash, as the exchange rate is better, but I will still show them my bank statement to be safe anyway. thanks again 🙏
Hi, I am visting for 4 days and it is before 11th Nov only. 1. So it will be a free entry right? 2. 10k baht should be in physical or we can have international debit card as well as it's statement in INR? thanks
@farozanakhtar1003 You are required to have hotel bookings for the entire stay. If you book only for the first day, you may have to explain to the immigration officer as to why you did not book for the rest of the days. There is a workaround. You may book for the remaining days on a Pay Later - Free Cancellation basis. This type of bookings are available on Agoda/Goibibo/MakeMyTrip. Once you clear immigration, you can cancel the unwanted bookings.
@@desiyatri I actually have booked for the entire stay, different hotels, but i haven't taken printouts for all, only the first place. Do I need to carry booking printouts for all of them? I don't think showing booking confirmation mails on phone will work?
@sumedhpawar8963 Hi. Even I could not find a specific Thai government website. But this information comes from two sources. One, it is the current practice at immigration counters in Thailand. They are randomly asking visitors to show proof of funds equal to 20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family. The other source is the funds requirement for the regular 60-day tourist visa. When someone having a regular 60-day tourist visa goes to Thailand, they need to show funds equal to 20K Baht. Currently, because Indian nationals are eligible for 60-day visa free entry, the same rule applies.
@sugatochattopadhyay6952 Hi. Nice to hear from you. Logically, 10K Baht in cash and the credit/debit cards we carry should be enough for a few days when hotels and return ticket are already paid for. The problem is, the random checks done by immigration officers. When they demand to see proof of funds, they will insist on 20K Baht. This will happen as long as the 60-day exemption is there. When visa on arrival comes back, 10K Baht will be enough.
@mouparnasarkar9363 Hi. As of now, visa free entry for Indian passport holders has been announced up to November 11, 2024. If they don't extend it, then visa on arrival will be applicable on 20th Nov.

clear, concise, informative...GREAT JOB
@dorolal Hi. Thank you for the appreciation 😊
Great video once again. Therefore, the VOA and visa exemption both are in force simultaneously in Thailand right now?

@rsgoyal6147 Hi. Yes, you will get a visa free entry. But the funds requirement is 20K in currency. Please watch the video one more time.
I have a question. At immigration, do I need to show hotel/accomodation booking for my entire stay in Thailand or just the first few days is enough?
@farozanakhtar1003 You are required to have hotel bookings for the entire stay. @farozanakhtar1003 I will suggest that you print all the booking confirmations. Better not give them a reason to doubt anything.
@@desiyatri guess that's safer. Thank you!
Can you tell me where you saw the rule for 20k baht per person. I can't find the official announcement where it says 20k Thai baht is required.

If just got back from Thailand. I flew out 28th Aug and got a 60 day visa stamp and didn't have to show any proof of funds.
@sprizer Hi. Just what I said in the video. Many times they don't ask about money.
Even if I stay for 5 days or so 10K baht fund will not work anymore? Thanks for posting such an important video.

@mouparnasarkar9363 That is correct. 2000 Baht visa fee and 200 Baht for the fast track service which is recommended.
