Destination Thailand Visa (DTV Visa):
Details of the Thailand DTV visa are not finalized and are subject to change. However, a general picture of the visa can be created based on the government’s announcements and comparisons to similar long-term Thai visas. At present, this is what a DTV will offer its holders:
A 5-year, multiple-entry visa. Holders can enter and leave Thailand an unlimited number of times without needing re-entry permits or new visas.
Holders of the DTV may stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per visit and can extend the visa once per visit for a further 180 days.
DTV holders can bring dependents with them on this visa, including children under 20 and spouses.
The visa fee for the Thailand DTV Visa is 10,000 THB. The renewal fee is also 10,000 THB and must be paid with every extension.

That’s Brilliant, let’s hope it stays Ike this and great effort getting this out early .
Your welcome! Hopefully more options come around as well
Nice one! Glad 60 day is finally kicking in, will take advantage of that in September
Great news as always, cheers 🎉
We still await official Royal Gazette publication as there is so much speculation and different interpretation about the DTV.
Its frustrating for many as a lot of people are sprouting authoratively online about a visa which is not yet finalised or approved yet.
So glad you have the perspective of - its a good thing but lets see exactly what it really is before we get too carried away...great job.
My best friend arrived from Aus last night and got stamped in for 60 days if that’s any help. I don’t know anyone personally about the DTV yet but saw Siam Legal has reported on it and would like to think a legal company like there’s wouldn’t risk posting non confirmed news.. hopefully 😁
good video Rob thanks
I'm from Australia, can I just straight forward fly there and stay for 60 days without any hassle or paperwork? If so, I'm going in 2 weeks haha
Yep you can
Hello, thanks for the video - very helpful. Do you have any info on the tax implications of the DTV? E.g. will you get double taxation if you work for a British company and live in Thailand?
Hey Rob great video im from mexico so I'm finally in the list do i still need to bring passport photos or any other documents besides my passport? Thank you
Hello Rob, once I have extended the 60 day visa for 30 days ,for a total of 90 days then can I leavev go visit another country ,return and start the process again?
Also how many times a year can I do this..?
Hello, thanks for the information. Is the 500000 bath required to keep within Thai bank or just to show bank statement from our bank account to ensure for our expense? Thanks
Rob, I cannot completely understand this 60 days exemption. I'm a 75 year old Aussie. I will list my questions I hope you can assist this old bugger ha! ha! - 1. I can get on a plane in Australia to depart to Thailand
Arrive in Bangkok Airport and go through Customs / Immigration etc.
and all I need to present to the Officers is my Current Australian Passport.
2. I have no need to produce documentation to the Officers regarding where
I will be staying in my Tourism period. ( Please note been to Bangkok 8 times )
3. Do not have to show my return Air Fare Ticket.
4. Do I have to pay any Fee to Enter Thailand ( Suvarnabhumi Airport )
5. Do I need to apply in writing to someone about = Visa Exemption (60 Days)
My name is John
Good News nice vlog❤
Is this issued to British passport holders on arrival for 60 days visa. Or do I need to apply beforehand?
Oh ok rob ,so you can definitely extend it for 30 days ?
Yes mate
When I travelled 30 days wasn’t enough to do both the north and south of Thailand sufficiently so did it in two separate stints and travelled into Laos and beyond for a bit. This is good now that fellow backpackers now have the time to knock out Thailand in one visit
So Iam retired and live off rental income. Can I apply for the dtv visa? What do you think they will want to see regards to my income
Do they have any details about criminal history?!
i would like to know a full list of activities that can be included / listed for DTV. what about scuba training? or snorkeling? or art? sculpture and painting? i ask because going to music festivals is listed alongside muay thai which suggests a wide range of possibilities as long as it’s a legitimate activity with a thai business benefiting. i am a retired senior and would like to dabble in a variety of subjects. i have been trying unsuccessfully to obtain more information.
When you find the list please feel free to share it on here for everyone 👍🏻
@@ProjectBangkok you’re the one making videos on this topic. you are in Thailand, right? can’t you do this?
Hello Brother,
Regards from India.
I am planning to visit Thailand in first half of September this year with my wife and 3 kids (6 yrs, 4 yrs and 20 days-at present) for 10 days tourism trip.
Please, tell me how much proof of funds is required to show?
I am self-employed and my wife is a house wife.
Two way tickets, passport and hotel booking are enough only or anything else required to show on immigration?
Thanks and regards!
Back when they first announced all this they also mentioned doing some streamlining of all the (many) non immigrant O visas, including some changes to the retirement visas in September. As a newly minted geezer of 50 looking to retire early, I'll be pretty interested to see what happens with those.
Mine starts in 8 days! Cant waaaait
I was considering Phllipines or Thailand to live from USA. But from what I am seeing I cant stay Thailand more than 90 days? IS this correct. Is it like Phillipines I can leave country and return and start over again. Seems 90 days is the max then your done! Can somebody clarify?
Yay ❤
Yay indeed 😁
I'm from India, so if I only show my bank account with around $20000 than can I get my DTV visa?

Hello, how much is the fee for wife and kids if i apply for DTV visa?
10,000 per additional person
13 or 18K usd
There is confirmation that one can extent the 60 day exemption to 90 days?????????
Oh yesss 👍🏻
@@ProjectBangkok will you need to do this online or can i get a upon arrival visa or anywhere to get one? im form UK
Ya ya ya. All that visa talk is well and good but where is this location you’re at😂😂😂😂 Looks like a cool place to chill. Do not see a lot of people around
Ya ya ya... you must have missed the first 4 seconds of the video then 😂 either that or you got bored after 3 haha
True Digital Park my friend.. it was like 6:30am though so really quite when I filmed that.. really cool place to check out!!
@@ProjectBangkok my bad 🤣
1:40 you need this money in your home country bank account or a Thai bank account?
Either is acceptable 👍🏻 just need to have proof
some VOA countries also appears in Visa Exempt list. Why so ?
Erm.. the question doesn’t make sense sorry. Of course they would.. maybe I misunderstand
Is the conversion between GDP and USD a typo? 10,645 GBP is $13,848 USD
It will obviously change everyday with conversation rates. It’s close enough 👍🏻
Costs 17000 baht in Canada, its not 10000 any where but Laos
That’s just wrong information.. you should really do your research on the facts
@@ProjectBangkok So you can retire in Japan? I went through your videos and didnt see a retirement solution. No visas exist. Need to be married to a japanese citizen. They have one visa listed if you have 300k usd in assets like stock or bonds you can get a visa to travel with your non-japanese wife for a year. Can you help with another option, or guide me to one of your videos??
so if im cooming with my wife we need to have 1,000000 tbh in our bank acount or 500,000 tbh for both of us is ok?
@evya-q2j just go to the booth on second road in Pattaya next to Red planet. Tell them that it is your intention to bribe. Include extra money I would say 10,000 THB plus another 2500 for the booth. They will get you any Visa you want, no joke. I've gotten student visas and I'm not a student
I am not surprised tourism is dropping it’s not all about the visas the flights are stupid prices 1100 for one person economy from uk in rainy season people are going elsewhere
what visa to stay 9 months ?
Business visa
Hmmm, interesting 😏
Thanks 👍🏻
The DTV sounds too cheap. 10k baht for 5 years. Compared to the elite visa etc. sounds too good to be true.
I was thinking the same. Don’t shoot the messenger 😂
I think it's 10,000thb for each 180-day stint.
Don't shoot this messenger either 😂
10k for every 180 days
@ronr3133 @ProjectBangkok I believe that it’s 10,000 for each 180 days… so, 10,000 when you extend.
@@ProjectBangkok It's only valid for 180 days plus one 180 day extension at 10k baht. It's not a 5 year visa. It can be used for a period of 5 years, 360 days total.
Theres slightly varying information available. The DTV might be like this: 180 cumulative days during 5 years, which is then extendable by 180 cumulative days. Cumulative being the key word here.
is there a way to avoid showing own 500k ? Or can a girlfriend show it for me?
This is a legal document and status in the country you want to live in. I wouldnt ''Avoid'' anything.. and just do it properly 👍
