I have never purchased a crown crate and I never will. I consider them a rip off. I have bought an occasional item offered in the crown store but not crates. I convert about half the free crown crates I get through Plus into gems. Rarely I get something I don't already have...but never a mount of any sort.
I've gotten 2 mounts from the free daily reward ones, nice ones too.. Never bought any crates, and probably never will.
@@elderwiz3165 Ya, I got a few from freebies as well. I would still never buy them, complete rip-off and no amount of lucky free mounts make them worth it

I’m not hung up on Crown crates, but some players are. It’s nice to see we’re getting more of them in Daily Rewards.
Nothing should have lower than a 1% chance to drop and ZOS should be required to publish the drop chances in the descriptions of everything in game (but especially things that cost actual money)
Also, ZOS should cut all potions, foods, and costume styles of motifs that can be earned in the base game by just playing the base game (Soul Shriven costumes, I'm looking at you here). If not cut them, increase the number of Crown Gems they're worth
The crates are predatory enough, they can afford to be less predatory to the playerbase
The Crown Store will always be a sticking point for a large portion of the player base because it's so heavily stacked against the player. It's the part of the game that isn't player friendly
Free crown crates: awesome, lots of fun. Paid crown crates: never gonna buy one ever.
In a word...YES.
I've played ESO for 9 years and if I had to guess on the amount of money I've spent, it's between 8k and 10k; most of which was on housing and crown crates. Less than 1k a year for the most engaging virtual world I've ever stepped foot in, no regrets. Maybe I'll get that rare Charizard card in my next pack!!

Better camera resolution on this one, 👍But it looks like something is causing the lighting to flicker? Like, not the lights themselves, but rather the light balance of the camera/recording software is constantly oscillating back and forth trying to even out the brightness or something? I hope that makes sense. I'm not a professional, just doing my best to try and get the idea across, >.
Yea last time I spent money on crown crates for the purple sheogorath senche that when summoned came from a cloud of butterflies..... I spent my whole paycheck on them and got the same things, a pet ill never use, potions I'll never drink. That was well over 300 dollars, trying to get one mount....... I really think that if they put everything in the store they would make just as much money or more because players are actually paying for what they want... what a dream...

I don't think there's anything shure-fire about these, no matter how many you buy you still just have to be lucky. It could be in the first crate you open or you could open 400 of them and still not get the mount you wanted.
There is something insulting about having something that is already a gamble giving you duplicates.
😢 he didn't say but i think the cost is 880.00 dollars for 333 crates my math could be wrong but thats really bad that companies can get a thousand dollars (close enough) for 1 mount
unless its crown crates BUNDLE with bonus (USUALLY CUSTOMIZED ACTION) that i want,

I dont think sSals of endeavor wasn't introduced because of microsoft. I remember it being introduced before Microsoft was anywhere in the picture.
I left the game bavk when crown crates were first introduced. Never payed for a single one. Now I’m back after all these years and crates are still if not more predatory than before. Yikes.

Ive heard the free vs paid crown crates have different rates as well. No clue if its verified through.
I got two mounts from the same free crate. RNG be crazy.
I wouldn’t mind the coolest drip and mounts being on the crown store if I could just buy them outright. I’m not going to gamble for a chance at paying for something I want. Tf lol
never bought a crown crate.
even after the 10 free ones i am more determined than ever to not buy one.
got 3 duplicates, 2 orange stripe facepaint, 2 feather invested headdresses and 2 duplicate mementos i already forgot.
other 2 main "prices" were another facepaint and a scholar personality.
thank god it was free!

Sweetroll isn't diluting it because it gives 400 gems so it's basically a choose your own apex thing.

I love crates open at least 20 a month it’s really fun I don’t even really care about the rewards😂

Gotta ask, what's the main draw of crown crates currently? Only briefly played ESO several years back. Do apex mounts bypass horse leveling or something?
They're just shinier and have some extra effects on occasion. Glowing eyes,pulsating effects,call in effects etc.
To look badass as the only earnable mounts in game are either too hard to get or the other 2 are dogshit 🤣
Just for clarity, they added these in game so that they could tell regulators that you could earn it in game. So you don’t technically have to gamble.
Also, the reason they are giving these away is because of all the canceled ESO+ subs they lost with the debacle at the beginning of the pts. Thats why all this months rewards have been so good.
Sub to ESO+ for X amount of time, get the craft bag for daily writs, get the free crowns, look at crown store 'featured' and 'on sale' items, choose which on sale item you want. If you see none, save crowns for next batch of 'on sale' items. Don't even look at crown crate items, they shouldn't exist in your mind until you have 4000+ endeavors.
The "you don't have to buy them" thing has always pissed me off. Every crate purchase is more incentive for ZOS to gatekeep the best items behind purchases instead of game play. Your crate purchase is making my game experience worse.
The reason for them adding the sweetroll in to apex is you can convert that in to 400 gems which is juicy
I spent 80 $ on the recall tp ball thing from crown store for 8000 crowns all I got was 2 none combat pets and trash poison then I get the 10 free ones from monthly daily login saved all 10 then opened them got a mount and a apex mount like wtf what a waist of money

The problem with ESO is that there are two crown stores:
1. One store with vanilla items that can be purchased with cash via the store currency (crowns).
2. One store with the best items which can only be obtained via gambling (either through direct winning or crown gems).
I believe the later is highly immoral and there is no excuse for it!
There is literally no other way to buy the best items except through gambling (yes, I know about Endeavors but that will take a year or a PTS server meld ban).
The random lootboxes are gambling and should be illegal.
They got sued, and HAD to add seals. it wasn't out of the kindness of their hearts.

To me the issue is: WHY SO MANY PEOPLE DIDN'T GET CROWN CRATES ARE PURE LOTTERY? It is a bet. With a low veeeeeeeery % drop. The only crates i got are the free ones. No way i will waste a whole dime on them.
The fact that they don't even show the actual drop rates makes this system only more scummy. I really hope the EU or Microsoft will ban this at some point.
I don't have a problem with the shop itself, even though I think that the game would still be immensely profitable with ESO Plus alone.
Nobody can convince me that of the supposed 26 mio players only a small fraction are ESO Plus members, and even with only 10% ESO Plus members, the game would be very profitable. -- Just not as profitable as with psychological tricks like FOMO and exploitation of vulnerable players, but greedy shareholders don't care about that.
Pc players are finally getting plugins like osrs 🤣
