During World War II, ABDACOM (American-British-Dutch-Australian Command) was a short-lived military alliance formed in early 1942 to coordinate the defense of Southeast Asia against the advancing Japanese forces. It comprised military forces from the United States, Britain, the Netherlands, and Australia.
However, due to various challenges such as limited resources, communication difficulties, and the overwhelming strength of the Japanese forces, ABDACOM faced significant setbacks. The alliance was unable to effectively coordinate its efforts, and its member nations suffered major defeats, this provides an opportunity to rewrite the course of history and reverse the tides of adversity.
The Mod incorporates a number of new ships and a new map with two campaigns of the Dutch East Indies:
Allied Campaign - The ABDACOM Defensive.
Japanese Campaign - Centrifugal Offensive.
You now have an immortal Dutch cruiser loose in the Pacific. The war is lost.
The Flying Dutchman is real!
It’s a British cruiser though
@@s.31.l50 shut
I think all those shells are going through that dang ghost ship, too.
There is a moment where you can actually see a shell fly through the ship's super structure and explode in the water next to it. Some BS.
Yeah, apparently this ship is currently glitched
When I saw it was the Caledon, I started laughing. There's a documented bug with that ship in Steams's forums.
The brand new torpedo-resistand Caledon has been deployed
That Caledon from earlier has shells fly through her. Something messed up there like.
It’s a known bug
Wow. That torpedo bug was something 😂
No flooding either, probably something related to the hull.
Maybe the Cruiser had so many holes that the torpedos threaded right through them
the OM mod for TTE had a bug like this. It made an immortal ship.
Those Torpedos are like Xcom when your point blank range with a 100% hit rate and still miss.
Yeah the Caledon class is bugged. I fought her late in my campaign with a full compliment of battleships and heavy cruisers and torpedo planes. She whiffed every shot and survived for wayy longer than than expected
Oh no, the Allies have imported some stalinium and made warships out of it! You're doomed! Also it does feel a bit sad seeing the heroic Dutch sub sunk unceremoniously like that...
O-19 seems to have much less illustrious career here compared to IRL let alone the Wolfpack's ABDACOM campaign.
@@lontongstroong I mean with our man's track record as DD skipper, Uboot skipper, commander and admiral, meeting him in combat as a submarine crew is equivalent to rolling a Tarrasque encounter in Dungeons and Dragons with a pointy stick as your main weapon. You simply cannot survive.
Wow man, wasn't expecting a flying Yamato to come out of slip space.
12:14 Those torpedos had me dead ☠️😂🤣, Such an epic shot, Such an epic fail. Talk about bad timing for a glitch to happen.
My grand father served on H.M.S Porpoise during WW2, the sub sank a dozen ships with mines before being depth charged from a Japanese destroyer. He survived to serve after the war because he was ashore at the time of the subs sinking.
That sounds like the joke I´ve heard a few weeks ago:
"Hey, do you know that my grandfather survived the HMS Hood tragedy?"
"Wow, how the hell did he survive?"
"Got too drunk and missed the journey..."
starting to feel that caledon hitbox being björked
With a Bjork soundtrack!
It should be noted that IJN CLs are bascially big DDs. They're not really cruisers. BTW, I never use Tenryus anymore; they're way too lightly armed. I prefer the Nagara class when possible, then Sendai/Kuma.
I would say in case of bugs like this, a reroll from your last save should not only be possible, but encouraged. After all: real ships can’t get a bug that let torpedoes and shells phase through them… it’s unfair to the player, and reloading the last save levels the playing field. I wouldn’t suggest it for anything else or less, especially since you caught it in film. Call it “the admiral had a bad dream”.
Poor O-19, the hero of the last campaign.
You are far better at narration than so many others, thanks.
Glad you think so!
RIP O-19
Wow, You would have gotten 4 torpedo hits if only the crew remembered to actually prime the torpedoes.
or if they remembered to set their depths shallower, those torpedoes looked like they were targeting a battleship with how deep they were
@@ham_the_spam4423they didn’t seem that deep. They literally went the ship lol
I didn't realize the Japanese had phasing torpedoes in WWII. That's something I'd expect out Star Trek in 2342, not WWII in 1942
28:20 Historically speaking, that was fairly common. If a submarine suffered a hit that caused a serious flooding, it usually blew all the ballast to rise up to the surface, then it was abandoned, and then the flooding gradually sunk the sub. Even without "help" from other enemy ships.
Sir who is that Freind you are talking about @Wolfpack345
😅
The sub O-19 😉
😅
I thought @wolfpack345 had being playing too much of The Sims and befriended the Grimm Reaper.....
I was thinking the torpedoes might've been below the Caledon's draught, but she sits at 5 meter below the water even without flooding, while the Type 91 is also typically set to run 5 meter below the water.
15:00 Every time you say "Fuhyo", I hear "khuyo" which sounds way funnier in most Slavic languages.
huyo mean's dick at slavic
don't be shy
I hear Uncle Roger
Allies have discovered Stalinenium.
Blimeyium
@@lontongstroong Churchillium?
12:25 that's not a bug that's the game saying "NOPE!! NOT TODAY!!" .... in other words, programed to cheat
Is it just me being a conspiracy theorist or did the latest patch of this game include an anti-Japanese bias?
@@Cybernaut76 i think the bias was there since the beginning
@@Lornharding I cannot even remember was it Wolfpack345
or Taff in Exile who lost a total of *THREE* ships, one of them a Mogami class heavy cruiser, in one scenario. All of them due to same reason: Magazine explosion. I was like: "something is not right! Not gonna start playing this game, especially not with Japanese, until at least next patch"
@@Cybernaut76 That was Wolfpack. Very X-Com like. The Allies have some "special" mojo going on with this series. The Allied command has to figure that all is lost and HMS Caledon said hold my beer and engaged immune to being hit mode. 😆
@@klydon1291 First extreme identity politics, woke & intersectionalism (where even one COD game had black women in Wehrmacht ranks) thinking we would not notice, now bias they think would remain secret against Axis Powers. HOW STUPID do the western game devs think we, the gamers are? What sort of idiots do they take us for? We are geeks, not morons and they better learn that and *FAST* before they sabotage their competition against Polish, Ukrainian and other emerging non-western game devs that know what gamers want.
I love the losing his mind drawn out laugh at that torpedo "strike". We felt it too Cap!
The rest of the Allies are really pressuring them for the amazing technology to dodge obvious torpedo hits and being impervious to all shell fire!
Wolfpack: "These torps look good, we might get 2 hits"
War on the Sea Gremlins: "Keep tellin yourself that bro"
In the video I could see your shells at the start of the battle phasing through the CL. I don't think it was just the torps that were bugged, it was the entire REDFOR damage/ collision box that was bugged.
That action with the subs, just great. That's the beauty of this game. Keep it up
@12:30 You wuz ROBBED!!!
GW levels of plot armour on that cruiser 👀
I see the Caledon has that WWII state of the art British torpedo defense technology. No need to dodge. Just sit back, hit the button and watch those torps just phase right through your now incorporeal ship. It's almost like magic and s**t.... I'd almost prefer they pull some unrealistic maneuver and dodge the things. It would be at least slightly less irritating than watching them just swim right through the target. Just as fun as that other bug that causes downed torpedo bombers to act as invisible minefields in the spot where they hit the water.
I wonder if the bug is because the ship that shot the torpedo sunk.
Age Of Empire 2 had a bug like that with trebuchet projectile doing 0 if the trebuchet got destroyed before the shot landed
You released an hour twenty minute long video and then follow up with another? Dang WolfPack we're eating good this weekend.
The visuals in this game are top notch. Between the water and the ship models it's fun to watch any War on the Sea campaigns regardless of the games shortcomings. Keep it up, I love all the ship battles in this series!! ❤❤
New tech from allied - a ship with immaterial hull but very tangible ammunition. Scary 😛
Alt-History theory: Caledon class used in British "Philadelphia" Experiment. Ship remains detectable by Radar, but can only take damage from the concussive force of near-misses.
"That Us Cruiser was Using Game Shark!" no fair!
Unfare plane. He Kemp Bush.
The power of mod, the reason there was splashes all around was because the hull was bugged the entire time and shells went through it.
I survived the Scapa Flow mission on U-boat last night. It was tough but we came out unscathed.
12:20 Thats "What the hell" is funny. And disappointed in the same time XD
That one cruiser must of succeeded in the Americans trails of a stealth ship or somethin
12:31
I've noted the moment Wolfpack's soul left his body, just for future reference 👍
MAVIS floatplanes (1/2) -- To save them, start using them correctly. You've played submarine commander, and with three Mavis's you have six torpedoes, more than any spread from your subs! AND, just like a sub commander, you need your target's course and speed. You also need the speed of your torpedoes. Now you will need to work it out more exactly, but to illustrate, let me give you an example:
On the battle chart, with all the squares drawn there, your enemy will be sailing down a line. Time how long it takes a ship to get from one square to another. Let's speculate the convoy is 8kt and it takes one minute to cross from middle of one square to the middle of the next. Then assume that your torpedoes travel at 40kt. That means your torpedo will cross 5 squares in the time it takes the freighter to go one square.
All of this is an example. Obviously, you will want to time the freighter or warship on the chart to get the exact time.
Now from one try, with a stopwatch, you will get the speed of your torpedoes, which will always go at the same speed. Time how long it takes a torpedo to travel over five, six, seven, etc. squares. Then bring in your Mavis and drop at the correct 'square' so that its torpedo will intersect the square when the ship you are targeting will enter that same square.
Remember, your torpedoes have enough fuel to travel something like 25-30 squares, so you can drop at a long distance, completely undetected if you wish. And if you do, turn and fly away and still score a hit, the enemy will likely think that they have been attacked by a submarine!
had the same issue with the light cruisers of that class. they seem to be unsinkable atm
5:44 I don't know why you regret switching over to HE ammunition for destroyers and cruisers since they have very little armor. At best they are only going to have an armored belt. And armored cruisers are technically battleships.
Wolfpack is a weekly treat
Oh Man, that Calderon glitch was costly
Those torpedos dude 😅😅
Seems you find the flying dutchman - nice that it is in the game.
Wolfpack, love the series, mate! Can't wait to see you get your hands on a Japanese battleship and give the Allies "The Full Dose", so to say!
The 2 games I love watching you play the most are war on the sea and silent hunter3 keep up the great content man 🙂
i was so lociked in to see those hits go off..
I actually feel cucked from those phantom torpedoes. It feels so rare to have such a well played spread... And they just phased through. Heartbreaking
RIP O-19
Seeing O-19 surface reminds me of Hunt for the Red October with the USS Dallas
Ghost Torps, just like ghost shells from WOT.
Dang it was a hologram decoy!
You encountered one of them famed ghost ships, you were actually fighting a group of one ship less but your crew saw it floating with them
(Mavis 2/2) -- From a very safe distance, get one Mavis down to 20m, and have it fly down the line to intersect. When it gets to 5 squares away, drop, and turn away. Then watch the torpedoes travel on the map, time them, and watch the freighter in the same time. THEN, as you work your timing-out get another Mavis down and try again. As a sub commander, this should be easy work!
Two ways to drop (one Mavis): 1) Both at once. This will give you about a one degree spread. 2) If possible in game, drop one torpedo and a few seconds later the second. This will have both crossing the same point, but at different times.
Guaranteed hit (two or three Mavis): Line ahead, have them all drop one, then wait a few seconds and have all drop their second. This will give you six torpedoes crossing the same point at different times -- sure to get at least one hit.
Turn away, save all your Mavises, fly back, rearm and return with six more torpedoes! Rinse and repeat!
Work this out, time it and get good at it. For freighters you can get closer, do from 5 squares out (or whatever is correct), warships with lots of flak, drop from 10 squares out, etc. Always turn away, save your Mavises for another run later!
In order to fix the Caledon-class bug you have to aerial bomb it and hope that you flood it, even so, it is pretty hard to sink it as torpedoes dont work. However i have found out that a BB can cripple the Caledon pretty quickly, when i played the ABDACOM I decided to disengage always the Caledon and find other ways of sinking it
I have no idea if she's in the game or not, but it would be cool to see kitakami added to the theater to drop walls of torps or an i400 as a scout sub. As always, awesome video and I enjoy watching!
torps went yeet on Caledon I cannot believe it
Great video, thank you very much for sharing, but I think there is something wrong with your bloody torpedoes today!
Can’t get enough of this series
That was a lot of action for one episode. Well done.
You got 70% sulotion you should be using full spread instead of narrow spread. If solution isn't at 90+ but you use narrow, you might miss all the shot in a salvo most of the time.
Time to get a big boy Battleship
Seems like the Allies have developed Plot Armour and the test it on the Caledon.
Thanks Wolfpack 🫡
Having known that Portugal was neutral in WW2, I had assumed that East Timor (Portuguese Timor at the time) had been neutral as well and that your occupying it should have been forbidden by the game, or been penalized with a loss of command points based on the idea that Japan's European Axis allies would have protested to Tokyo that dragging Portugal into the war had ended access to an important intelligence gathering and trading post and brought the Allies back onto the Western European mainland.
However, in looking it up, I see that the Japanese actually did invade and occupy Portuguese Timor and not just West (Dutch) Timor. Without, apparently, bringing Portugal into the war. So - smart move after all.
Wow the Flying Dutchman appears in first battle and trolled you hard.
I must say the replay value of this game is spectacular.
Don't be silly, Wolfpack. We were all told at school that IJN ships were made of Bamboo 🎍🎍😄
Your destroyer became a Yōkai just before it launched it's (her?) torpedoes 👻👻👻
Caledon is weird , that thing can tank 203 like nothing ... when in other game I just oneshot citadel it with Furutaka 203..
YorT(The Dev of the mod)said to use bombs on Caledon, but the bug will probably be patched in 3.01 along with the release of Indian Ocean raid Mod
yeah its been removed in v3.01 until my ship modeler can fix it
@@YorT-G The man himself
I don't think I have seen allied surface warship launch any torpedo spreads this campaign, despite great opportunities to do so. Is this a hole in the AI?
Bro got styled on by the Flying Dutchman
YESSS WOLFPACK. you make my saturday dude
Hello from the England. Another great vid wolfpack. I really enjoy these series. Along with any of your wwii content. 👍👍
Hell yea, Wolfpack video!
I love the videos so much. PLEASE PLEASE do a stream on home to install the mods. I am older and not that great with computers.
thats a crazy bug
4:57 - Myoko Ono?!
Welp, I guess she broke up that British* -band- formation after all, huh?...

(sry, terrible The Beatles joke)
Good job Wolfpack!! Thanks for another excellent episode!!
How many command points for the 3 subs?
Yours is the best channel of this genre. By far!
12:31. Glitch.
At that point I'm downloading a trainer and cursor killing that thing
It's a pity the in game AI never really got strats
Hey man, whatever happened to that documentary you were making with a couple other creators using WotS as the platform? Is that still a thing? Also, great vid and love this series!
Manual targeting any use against ghost ships???
A little anticlimactic with these subs
You know there is a danger without knowing what exactly
Love these!
Deploy the fleet!
This game has awesome music!
I’ll assume O-19 was our old friend there?
Indeed
