    Dont understand why you would attempt to strike from the reverse mount? First priority would be to attempt submission like knee bar or an Achilles for example or if mount was low down to change position since back is vulnerable, cant ever imagine strikes being attempted in that position

      then do what makes you happy and works for you
      ...these are options not necessities for your game.

      +diago montana BJJ isn't the only option. Also some people may train in striking centric styles like KB and want to integrate ground and pound for self defense purposes but do not do BJJ at all.
