a real masterpiece for Gameboy. awesome playthough. only the Japanese could think of something so crazy as being a marshmallow riding on a hamster rat...shooting fireballs and getting a Tomato for health. lol the owl's eyelashes 7:35
This game is the hardest Kirby I've ever played. Just so happens to be the first one I played and the first GBA game I had. . . . good times. I never got all the rainbow things. I was too young and stupid hahaha. I at least got 5 of them though.
It was really the hardest Kirby game..!! :) I remember when I first finished the game, I defeated King DeDeDe but I didn't have all the planetaries ( I used to call them like this!) and in the end it was written "The end?". So I realized that I hadn't finished it and there was something more bad.. O_o Then I played the game again and i saw a planet (that was how I called them!:P) and I thought yes there must be seven of them and then it was really the end. But at first I really remember I was shocked that the first end wasn't really the end :P …!
Agreed. Just played it through again and was taken aback by just how hard it is compared to the rest of the series. Rainbow shards are a lot of trial and error without a guide and in many cases the animals just make things more complicated. It’s more on par with what I’d expect from any other game released in the early to mid 90’s. The only thing that might be more challenging where Kirby is concerned is the hard mode of the first dream land (which I didn’t even know existed until this year as I’d always just assume the game was over after beating it once)
You probably said ‘GBA’ because you used to play this game on the Game Boy Advance. It has backwards compatibility for Game Boy and Game Boy Color games.
I was pretty amazed when I played KDL2 on Game Boy by the improvement compared to the first game. I can proudly say to archive the 100% and the access to the special config and sound test. But I don't think that my save game still exists after all the time has past.
Crazy to think that when this was released, the audio tech for gameboy was was so limited that it had a mere five sound channels. If all five were playing you'd have to mute one just to hear a sound effect.
Fuck how can anyone still remember playing this. I am 25 years old and i remember just playing this game and loving it but thats it. I just cant remember more.
Kirby games tend to be released on a Nintendo console late into the console's lifecycle, yet because of this, tests the console's processing capabilities to its fullest.
I played the hell out of this in 1997 or so, hadn't played it since. Didn't think I could remember any of it but once I started watching this it all came flooding back! I don't think it was a very hard game, but it did have a hard mode that I recall was brutal Also some trivia: the music for Red Canyon had debuted a few months earlier in Kirby's Avalanche, and at 48:35 the placement of those blocks is supposed to resemble a naked woman and was censored in some regions when they figured that out
Ahhh yeah, I remember playing this game when I was young! Though only certain details really stuck to me, like the boar boss or the intro scene with the animals or things like that. Don't know that I even finished the game, I think I was playing on a friend's console or something XD
This was one of my first videogames-I couldn’t have been more than 6 or 7 years old. I was able to get as far as beating the “first” final boss, and thought I’d won the game. I didn’t think much of those difficult rainbow stars (only managed to get one or two), and thought the black question mark in the (not full) ending was just foreshadowing for the next installment. Fast-forward to 6-7 years later, when I dug the game out of my closet, and decided to replay it for fun. I thought hmm, this is too easy, why don’t I try to figure out how to actually collect all of those difficult rainbow stars, and I did. Sure enough when I defeated Dedede and thought the game was over, I was SHOCKED when I realized I was now about to fight the FINAL final boss. I felt goosebumps-it was the 7-year payoff I never knew I needed.
Kirby Kirby Kirby! He's the name you should know! Kirby Kirby Kirby! He's the star of the show! He's more than you think! He's got maximum pink! Kirby Kirby Kirby's the one!
I never thought of using abilities for the deeded battle but now that I see that little damage can slowly make up to a whole I think I’ll finally defeat penguinny king dude
I love that Kirby in this game has the Various Abilities & Weapon to use like Fireball , Hedgehog Needle and Throwing Boomerangs to enemies and more . Also , he has various Animal Buddies too :3
If Silver Tails Charmy and baby Daisy can be in a game dreamland Is going to call BoomClapClub: Baby Daisy's big Dream. Only can play with baby Daisy Alone With Silver, Tails, or Charmy
Halfway through the gameplay and he takes damage for the first time Edit: Awesome playthrough, pretty sure he only took damage once during the whole thing.

I love the Owl's Theme! The soundtrack in this game is just phenomenal!
Tyler Mabry his name is Coo btw
I love Coo's theme, too. My best friend liked Kine's (the fish), and we would sometimes argue whose was better
Rick's theme is pretty good.
What about it?
The owl's name is Coo
You have no idea how much this means to me. This was probably the first game I played and absolutely loved. Thank you so much for this.
This one blows the first out of the water! It improved on everything!

And by GBA I mean GB. . . . sorry!

poor wispy woods. he doesn't seem like he's that bad of a guy... and he always gets his ass kicked.

Hamster and Kirby best friends forever
Ragnar Ahlman ii
Except when he tries to stab you
What about Waddle Dees? HUH?
Such an amazing sequel, i remember that final fight way harder since i was constantly attacking instead of reflecting the attacks back lol.
You can't hate on that Kirby dance.
Sheesh

Time Flys by don't it
I loved this game sooo much when I was a child!
And I still love it today! That's something one can't claim about a whole lot of games.
One of the BEST Kirby games ever made! It debuts Kirby's animal friends and his Copy Abilities too!
Kirby adventure debuts the copy abilities there was a ton of them
And this is where the Kirby series reached the Dark Matter arc, where Kirby's story became truly dark and sinister...
My first video game ever.
Best Kirby Game of All Time!!!

49:28 Mr. shine and Mr. bright are my favorite bosses in this game and kirby's adventure.
Mine too. I loved that you could replay levels, including bosses, so I would fight those 2 over and over again
I love Whispy Woods,Mr Bright,Mr Shine,Kracko,
I love the power up system in this game and the SNES version, but IMO the soundtrack of the first was much more memorable. At least for certain songs.

When I was a little boy in Greer, SC 1998, It seems to be a Beaver Hamster Song, on my Kirby's Dream Land 2 Game Boy Game!

The nostalgia...

Wait a sec...so that dude at the end was not the final boss? There's still that shadow thing you must deafeat after you gathered crystals?
That's right. He is Dark Matter, the true main antagonist, and to even fight him, collect all 7 Rainbow drops and defeat King Dedede.

The Art of coo, the hamster and kine at the opening is good for game boy
Nostalgia hits once again
It’s amazing how short this game is
And how easy it is to speed run it even for NON speed runners
Fantastic classic
Wow. Hitless on the final boss. GG, gamer!
I _still_ can't beat the final boss to this game. I'm too sloppy and take on too much damage early.
48:41 - 49:12. That Easter egg...
lol when the hamster throws Kirby, he looks like pacman
This video is so good!!!
1:46:38 I remember watching a video of this screenshot with colours without using Super Game Boy.
Was that maybe a GBC?

kirby’s dream land 2 > kirby’s dream land & kirby’s dream land 3
At least whispy woods stick to the anti corona measures. 😁
0:05 You have played it? Or No? Who?
The bad part about this game, once you get an animal friend, you never get to hear the stage music till you ditch the animal.
I still have this game for the gameboy color!
Kirby Kirby Kirby! He's the name you should know!
Kirby Kirby Kirby! He's the star of the show!
He's more than you think! He's got maximum pink!
Kirby Kirby Kirby's the one!
Channel DE! DE! DEEH!
@Vanessa Pilar [AppleMations] Yep!
They have it on the Kirby's 20th Anniversary game for Wii.
All of the rainbow drops
Hidden in each world's areas
I never thought of using abilities for the deeded battle but now that I see that little damage can slowly make up to a whole I think I’ll finally defeat penguinny king dude
This game's making my hungry.
One of my favorite gb games!
Who's here after Rick, Kine, & Coo were added into Star Allies?
Me
28:11 I remember this is where I was stuck because I didn’t know how to get other skills
What are u supposed to do in that cloud part after u beat a level?
Bolt Kirby Power, like the Movie Bolt Dog Powers!
Kirby is a psycho. He eats other creatures alive in order to steal their powers.
*****
Like how Mario breaks boulders who are in fact transfigured people of Mushroom Land.
Jarosław Sobiński 2 years later..
Those creautures he eat are attacking him. Also Toads are only in question mark blocks and question mark block don't break when hit.
ScHIAuChi must really like the Cutter ability.
Why didn't ScHIAuChi get the Rainbow Drops the FIRST time he was in each level that had them?
The final boss in this one is really cool.
I'm playing Kirby's dream land 2 for first time..and beat this game with all rainbow and just 94%😅 after beat 3 last boss.
I love that Kirby in this game has the Various Abilities & Weapon to use like Fireball , Hedgehog Needle and Throwing Boomerangs to enemies and more . Also , he has various Animal Buddies too :3
Coo the owl's theme reminds me of Pokémon's battle style music.
This boss fight is so creative and awesome dark mind
I found this game and mario land 3 during karate class, don't remember the gameplay at all just the cartridge art
I just got an Insidious ad as I was about to watch this D:
If Silver Tails Charmy and baby Daisy can be in a game dreamland
Is going to call BoomClapClub: Baby Daisy's big Dream.
Only can play with baby Daisy
Alone
With Silver, Tails, or Charmy
der hamster ist einfach süss :)
How do you get to the final boss? After the dedede fight the credits just roll. What did i miss?
Silversonex the Hedgehog I have been asking the same questions, and I still don't know.
Silversonex the Hedgehog You must take all rainbow drops
Nvm I got them.
Every Island has a rainbow drop on the island map?
I could never figure out what the thingies with their brooms were
My favorite game boy game
Halfway through the gameplay and he takes damage for the first time
Edit: Awesome playthrough, pretty sure he only took damage once during the whole thing.
are you playing the 3ds version or gameboy? Cause I play the 3ds.
Pitch, Nago and Chuchu are not in this game, they were introduced in Kirby's Dream Land 3 for the SNES
Never heard a single name like that. Even IN DREAMLAND 3!!!
@@acesamm Pitch is the little bird, Nago is the cat, and Chuchu is the pink octopus/blob.
I love Kirby
Did you know Kirby’s Dream Land 3 has similar Cutscenes?
Do you have the original Rom? I need it xd
last boss music. never used again. so sad
So cute a game ❤️☺️
Why did they ditch the sliding and running from Kirby's Adventure on the NES in this game? There was no reason for them to do that.
To make Rick have a meaning to use I think.
Which Gameboy Is it
I want this game a remake on a Nintendo Switch 😢
My childhood...
I only 'fully' beat it once as a kid.
I saw Gooey. As an Easter Egg!
48:39 😳
It has color I played it before on my netendo
I passed this game 1 year ago
FIRE BREATHING HAMSTERS!!!!!
