If you want to buy the pro version of Custom Curve, use my code 'HALO' to save 5 bucks. Upgrading to pro will help get you the most out of using mouse acceleration. I sincerely appreciate it. Thank you. Also, here is an UPDATE MOUSE ACCEL GUIDE: ua-cam.com/video/6SyWtgSfDBo/v-deo.html
I used to use Raw-Mouse accel in CSGO back in the day. Super useful for quick flicks and controlled aiming but was heavily frowned upon just cause of its possible "consistency" issues. In a game like halo infinite where tracking is more important this could be super useful. Getting that controlled slower sensitivity and then quick flicks when needed. Thanks for sharing and I wish others viewed mouse-accel the way you do!
I have started using accel for the same reason. If you want to compete with controller in halo especially on higher ping, you need to slowest useable sens possible, but the accel helps with sniper and rocket flicks
Quake 3 had mouse acceleration curve in the settings. Plenty of people used mouse acceleration in earlier games because they were much faster paced, so you needed that "slow and fast" benefit for aiming. It's just a Counter-Strike influence and Windows' point precision being bad, so there used to a file you'd download called "cpl mouse fix" that everyone who played CS would use to disable the setting from Windows. But no it's not bad at all. I think the majority of top level Quake players used mouse accel, and even some in CSGO do. It's just something people say because everyone else says it.
this is really interesting I'm glad you managed to get around to this video after all my begging. you have definitely intrigued me and ill be looking to play with this at some point. big props for this, I know a lot of people get instantly triggered if you discuss mouse accel in FPS games.
I'm using Tenz's settings (classic curve) for Valorant with a input offset of 20 and angle snap on. Now I can draw a straight line while in the death cam while waiting to respawn. j/k. Feels sooo good for my slow ass play style.
I’m on Xbox and I’m using the in game mouse acceleration settings. I have never played without it turned off. When I finally go to PC would you still recommend using custom curve or stick with the infinite settings? Thanks

Hey Halo, i enjoyed this one a lot. I've been thinking about doing a mouse accel video for a while. I think i will (1 day) do the same 30 day experiment and see what i find. geeat job man
Ayo, lets go. I absolutely love mouse accel. I actually did a follow up experiment and disabled it for 15 days and it took me less than a full day to get acclimated which wasn't what I expected. I expected it would take a few days. I have been on both sides and I much prefer to play with it enabled, but change the curve style dependent upon the game that I am playing. Give it a shot. You may find it isn't for you or you may really like it. Expect the first few days to be brutal. This can be negated by using good settings and I couldn't recommend custom curve enough. The ability to draw the curve vs input numbers is S tier. Start with any/all of the presets and build off of them. By the way, still patiently waiting for the ec review
@HaloDaycare Ah i have used raw accel in my short test of mouse accel but i will give cudtom curve a go, it does sound more intuitive for sure! I found it made sense when i tried it, then was t a huge transition issue for me, but i was tinkering frantically in settings to find a good fit for my playstyle and game as you say. The EC1-CW will be my next review, but im away for a week now, and I'm uber busy at work so im unsure how long it'll be until i can publish, im scripting in the evenings but it all takes so long to do this stuff properly :)

I assume this has nothing to do with the topic of the video of mouse accel. Yes, Halo Infinite has a terrible mouse input and the game suffers from crashing issues. It sucks honestly. Look into 'XLR8' and see if he cant help you. He has some fixes via youtube that could help.
Hey brother. Hope you're doing well. Using custom curve pro for a while now and I think I'm pretty happy with settings. Though I am interested in what you're using. I've whittled my sense down to around 41 cm360 but I haven't changed my curve to compensate. Would you mind posting your curve file?
I apologize for not seeing this comment, youtube doesn't notify me of comments :/ Im planning on a new guide soon. Meanwhile, I'm on twitter if you need anything
The one thing that confuses me here is, like, I was under the impression that Infinite's built-in accel settings actually aren't dogshit like most are? I remember 343 specifically talking in a pre-release blog about how mouse accel is kind of a lost art. I guess the advantage is just consistency between games.
I wasn't aware of that pre-release blog. Like you said, consistency is key. I'll dive into the inner workings of Infinite's accel settings and see if it's worth taking advantage of. If it works for you, awesome. Even still, custom curve allows you to draw your own ideal curve which is far more simple
In-game does just that; very useful on console (I miss it on CoD)! It's just the lack of visuals and breve descriptions that makes it less intuitive to configure but it does the exact same thing nonetheless.
You’re referring to the max and min acceleration, correct? Where the the slider is pretty long? I changed this and I like playing halo now. Got tired of controllers and stick drift.
Used windows mouse accell playing CS Source for many years and got really great at 1 tap headshots. Thank you and I couldn't agree more. All it took was a misunderstanding of mouse acceleration and people falsely claim that it's bad for your aim. Bad mouse accel settings are easy to obtain and building your own unique curve takes time and effort. People also want to blame anything other than themselves for missing shots. I appreciate your comment
Mouse accel will undoubtedly feel off as you seek out the right settings, tailored to your play style and needs as an aimer. The first few days are the worst and the readjustment period feels like it won't end but it will. However, you won't be able to get used to bad mouse accel. Because you are already using custom curve, I'll just tell you that I am indeed using the Preset 6, or at least very close to it. All of the presets are solid. The folks at custom curve (I am not sponsored), know what they are doing. Just because a preset curve feels bad, doesn't mean that it is. It just means that it doesn't suit you or you haven't fine tuned your in-game sensitivity to accommodate the new mouse accel curve. This is a critical key component when you introduce mouse accel as you likely will need to tweak your sensitivity to accommodate the mouse accel curve. How many days or hours have you been trying mouse accel?
@@HaloDaycare I’ve tried it a few times one game is really good the next is awful. The stick aim with trying to hit someone strafing messes me up or tracking will be behind. Then 1v1 head on is dead on. I’m in a 1v1 w a onyx player now. I I usually play 1600 dpi 0.7-0.9 sens I’m trying 3200 0.45.

Do not listen to this guy lol mouse accel is not good at all if you can't remember how much to flick at a micro second at a person in any angle than you dont know your sense... if you are trying to be competitive than mouse acceleration off and get more desk space and aim on lower sensitivity. Everything becomes a factor with aiming for example: desk real-estate/ desk height/ chair height/ mouse pad texture/ mouse skates/ type of mouse/ dpi and more... Instead of trying to re learn how to aim on a sens that you can never 100% say you know because of velocity and are guessing on how much to basically move.. you can just practice on 1 universal sens measured by cm per 360 and actually learn a sens.. I speak from experience as I have high scores in aimlabs Kovaks and have many high ranks in multiple games... onyx being one of them related to this video... Just don't do it.. and lol if you need to download a program to get an edge its called cheating lol
There are many flaws with your argument. For one, I am asking to see your high scores in aim trainers, your gamertag to verify your rank within Halo Infinite, and I want to see these sooner than later. If you know anything about aim theory like you claim to know, you know that "learning a sensitivity" is proposed as nothing more than a myth. It's a lie. Mouse control > learning a sens. This makes your argument flawed from the start. Based on the context given so far, we can also conclude that mouse accel isn't objectively bad. Yes, you have to be good enough to adapt to using mouse accel, but the same is true for anything. You also have to be good enough to adapt to a new game, new sensitivity, new fov, etc. That is on you, not mouse accel, sir or mam. Mouse acceleration is based and I have multiple DMs from people thanking me forintroducing it to them. The Halo mouse and keyboard community is slowly learning that mouse accel can be good. However, it isn't for everyone. At no point did I claim in the video that it is for everyone. Your comment has been noted and I have taken a screenshot. If you choose to not provide proof of your aimlab/kovaak scores, your gamertag to verify your rank in Halo, your rank in other games, and you fail to do so in a reasonable amount of time, I will delete your comment for blatant misinformation.
