    Love the way you sound soooo joyful talking about your plants, it’s contagious and I see you as a real plant lover and not just those plant tubers that all of a sudden acts like you tube stars for owning “rare” overpriced plants. Your knowledge and passion is the reason I comeback to watch every new episode. Thank you Nick!

    Love your point about needing at least a full growing season to get to know a houseplant and how it grows in your home! I think sometimes we get antsy and forget this. Thank you!

    Agleonema modestum is an oldschool plant. My grandmas was dying from root rot so I rescued it and took two cuttings and they are growing beautifly and in my school that is 100 yo has giant poots of aglonemas modestums that flower in spring!

    Ahhh! I have that Aglaonema too and I love love love collecting them all I have this one by my White diamond and they compliment each other so well. Great video, I have Aglaonema modestum, it came from one of my mother's plants I inherited. This plant is crazy easy to grow, during the winter I have it in my foyer with east facing window temperature around 50, during the summer I put it in a shady spot on the deck. Water around once a week. I wish I could add a picture it is around 3.5' tall in a 30 inch pot. So easy to propagate, I have given it away often. It is a plant which thrives in any conditions.

    That hanging Dischidia you have is so big and lovely! I bought a small one that was sold as "Dischidia 'Emerald'" or "Dischidia bengalensis 'Variegata'." It seems to be a slow grower but, as you said, quite drought tolerant. I water it about once a month and it's looking fine!

    Florida’s are great, they all have red petioles and they say is a cross of pedatum and squami! The flordia beauty is the 3 digits for a dang cutting, that’s the variegated version! Lol the ghost is by far my favorite though, which produces white leaves then transition to green. It’s incredible.

    • @flowergirllove21
      @flowergirllove21 3 роки тому

      The pedatum has the green petioles. I find it funny that so many people try to sell the flordia as a flordia beauty. Which a beauty is a beautiful variegation- so definitely much different! Lol

    Thanks Nick for a great video, I love to buy plants, and go a little crazy sometimes. I really love all of my Hoya, I have a Hoya Curtisii that I got at Walmart and it is huge and doing so awesome. I also love Aglaonema, the green ones and the colorful ones. Learning how to take care of our plants is part of being a plant parent, and I have a buy three rule, I will buy a plant three times as I am learning how to take care of them and will not buy it after that, usually after three times I have learned how to take care of the plant, so I don't need to buy it again, but I will repurchase a plant even if I already have one. Thanks again for another very fun video, sending love and hugs, bye for now.

      wow, that's the first time I've seen someone worrying about fern spores indoors. Believe me, spores is the last problem you'll get with ferns :))) in order for them to spore they must be quite happy and that's not what majority of people experience with ferns :))) But joking aside - I grow a lot of ferns at home and they are wonderful houseplants if you don't mind watering your plants every day. Although staghorn is a bit more resistant so I think you should go for it. It needs a lot of light though. I haven't had any of them spore excessively yet so I wouldn't worry.
