I was talking with friends about Prodigy a few weeks ago. I believe he's the most skilled X-character with his mental blocks gone.
He's like Marvel's version of Mr. Terrific.
I enjoy his glasses way more than the T-Mask. But it’s a cool comparison.

Oh, dude, he's far more powerful than Mister Terrific.

Would they recursively keep copying each other until they explode? 🤯
Well Prodigy would learn Syncs knowledge, but that's all.
Sync would gain Prodigy's power then gain all of Prodigy's knowledge.
So two smart dudes walking around absorbing all knowledge. Though Sync would eventually lose Prodigy's powers when he leaves his side and then all the knowledge as well.
Prodigy seems like Marvel's nuanced response to Mister Terrific.
So if he get close to Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Dr. Doom, Valeria etc, he just end up being the smart person on earth.
I wish they’d give him his own solo series. Being that he has a penchant for working in areas outside of just mutant scenarios and he has his powers back and can retain knowledge he absorbs. I think it would be great to see him go on a sabbatical to accumulate as much knowledge as possible, create a enterprise and then moonlight as a vigilante. A kind of Batman type hero that utilizes gadgets, magic, and his tactical and combat knowledge. There are so many possibilities to go with that direction.
Dang, he's like taskmaster. If taskmaster went plus ultra and was a bad ass. Imagine putting him in a room with Reed Richards, Forge, Tony stark, Captian America, Wolverine, Blue Marvel, old man Cable, and Bishop. It would take a reality warper to stop him. I'm gonna call it now. In the future he's going to be running the show.

I would like to see Prodigy meet/interact with Isca the Unbeaten. It would be interesting to see what skills he could pick up from being around her.

The New change truly did make me happy and them giving characters like Prodigy more spot light is great. And tbh i feel like the changes with the X-Men is rubbing off on other comics which its about time
Prodigy? An overpowered combo of Forge and Cipher. I liked him better when he was de powered but still retained his previous knowledge.

Mad Love for the Full story about Prodigy. I initially felt he was a Synch Knockoff, but he's thoroughly different and a definitive standout character on his own. I DO... However, I think it's bullshit for Emma and Mirage, who literally conjures peoples WORST nightmares, to "predict" what Prodigy would be like in the future if his powers were unlocked. I don't see people putting locks on Cyphers, Shadowcat or Jubilee who have ALL be quoted as having potential to be definitively powerful in the future. They basically nerfed the brother. Reed Richards, Hank Pym and T'Challa are doing just fine with super intelligence.
How about giving the lowdown on Bling and Monet St. Croix?

If he has taken all the knowledge of the Sorcerer Supreme doesn't that mean hes a Omega level mutant? Also with such an ability isn't he more suited to be in excalibur and help develop Mutant technology? If I was Apocalypse he would have been one the first people I would step to
For Magic stuff, even if he knows how to use it doesnt mean its gonna work or work well. If 100 people use a simple spell they learned, probably only 10 people would have it activate. You have to have magic capabilities to do powerful spells. Perhaps he has nearly no aptitude for it. But he could write all the magic stuff down and catalog it for others.
Also just because he has knowledge it doesnt mean he can utilize it well. That comes from Wisdom, not Intelligence.
I will admit his power truly is OP and if I was him I would find a way to become the most powerful being I possibly can be. Learn to utilize magic or get magical equipment I can use if I have no aptitude for magic. Build Tech I have knowledge of and can utilize. etc...

@@tmd-w1552 Well for the magic, can anyone be gifted and become the sorcerer supreme? Obviously not. There have been stand out magic users stronger than others and having the potential of replacing Dr.Strange. That's not knowledge but aptitude and natural ability. Sometimes it's the quality of your soul, like with Pixie being able to make a Soul Dagger and was taught by Magik
@@tmd-w1552 His intelligence for engineering and science is his best aspect. it's all about acquiring the same solution through a repeatable process.
But combat, strategy, and tactics differ. Think about how athletes have good games and bad games. They always have the same knowledge, but why do they perform bad sometimes. It's your ability to use the knowledge you have. Sometime you can make a bad judgement call based on feelings and emotion.
If Cyclops and Prodigy did a danger room exercise. Most likely Cyclops would get better results from his long term wisdom as a leader.
His limit is his range -- he's like a wireless Rogue.
Just imagine if Apocalypse could amplify his limit to be *nation-wide.* Or even span the entire planet.

Has Prodigy ever met Taskmaster? Would he learn everything that Taskmaster ever learned at that moment & could he beat him.
Taskmaster still has physical stats that are closer to cap than say Prodigy. Hes not Darwin.

Prodigy is one of the most under appreciated characters. They do him wrong. He's just a brain. He could be so much more but they don't know how to use him. And what do they do make him bisexual for now reason just like making Iceman gay and it didn't work
You can’t make someone gay or bi , They Always have been , It’s about showing Representation especially since he’s Black also , I understand about iceman and agree but prodigy was created in a new Generation and is right where he’s suppose to be .

Another fantastic summary, I liked Prodigy from the beginning in his New X-men debut but knew little of his development beyond the series besides being de-powered and now appearing on Krakoa as a member of X-Factor. He's definitely gained a lot of depth. Grateful for the update.

Prodigy is what Taskmaster wishes he could be. So much potential. If he could figure out how to stay a hero with his limits released he would be able to help solve a ton of problems and would arguably be one of the most dangerous non-powered combatants in Marvel... Well, actually depending on who is around he already is one of the most dangerous non-powered combatants in Comics because he would body Batman if literally anyone else that could fight or think was around while they fought. If that's a stretch to you, I will get out of the way of Batman's god-level plot armor because that's the only thing that could protect him.

This guy has honestly gotten less interesting as time has gone on imo, could be that they never give him much to do tho as well since he lost his power. Though, even now hes still basically just there in X-Factor

I have been a long time fan of Prodigy, being a nerd myself. I would love to see him in other media hopefully. I always felt that Prodigy and Synch are the mutant equivalent of the Sharingan.

Man it’s crazy to see prodigy getting love, one of my few favorite newer X-men, always thought him, elixer, magik, hellion, s. Cuckoos and surge should be pushed more into main stream X-men stuff, imo.

Before losing his powers he'd been around Doctor Strange, so when the cuckoos helped him re-remember all knowledge he'd absorbed and lost, magic was wielding was on that docket. So yeah...he's a practitioner of magic too...I kind of wish they'd show him use that area of knowledge more often.
Prodigy is an example of how black characters are now used to check every minority box.

@@karmabum21 I don't know if you have noticed but black and brown characters newly created as of late must also be in a sexual minority, it's just like an employer that will hire a black woman to fill the quota of both a female minority and minority...minority. I appreciate diverse characters but I don't like that black and brown characters have to check every box for inclusion. (Prodigy, America Chavez, Green Lantern- Sojourner Mullein, The new Future State Flash, The New Warriors, etc...)

I figure that his bisexuality might be a byproduct of his powers. He is constantly bombarded with the knowledge of others. I assume some of that is sexual knowledge. It would be only natural as the scientist that he would want to be able to explore that. But you also have a point

Black people like us exist and for too long comic book companies would be so reluctant to make a black character part of the lgbt community, and when they did they were nothing more than a stereotype

A most interesting character, indeed!
Between Prodigy and Jamie (Multiple Man), both of them give a run for the money against Hank McCoy, Reed/Valeria Richards, Anthony Stark, Riri Williams on genius levels. Prodigy could stand next to Reed, Dr. Doom, Tony/Riri and Valeria and pick up their abilities in a flash. Jamie just works via his duplicates, merges back and has absorbed the information, which makes it incredible concept on the Resurrection Protocols. When Synch returned from the vault it was indicated that his cerebro backup was larger than when he departed. It would seem that Prodigy and Jamie would both of them would have the same situation as knowledge growth of both would increase everytime, a new set of skills/knowledge was acquired and if both were constantly accumulating new skills/knowledge into cognitive ability, it would increase exponentially everytime it kicked in.

Prodigy would make more sense as a villain that would be nearly untouchable. I just can't see Prodigy as a very good hero. He would be much better utilized as a sympathetic villain.
