Mode for Marvel United! This time it’s Captain Marvel Vs. Ultron. Can the maniacal android put up a better fight than Red Skull??

I misread how the Battle Plan “Heroic Leaning” card works. It actually provides an extra heroic to any support card that ALREADY has one, not to cards that don’t have one. Sorry about that, and thanks to Chris Hillery for catching that!
Definitely continue! This is one of my favorite games! The stretch goal boxes have much more difficult villains with interesting twists on the gameplay if you are looking for more challenge, the core box is mostly pretty light.

Good play! Thanks for trying the new solo mode and sharing it.
About increasing the difficulty in your next play, I suggest you to don’t change it yet. In my experience, Ultron and Red Skull have a similar difficulty, but Taskmaster is completely different beast. Is a tricky villain and made me lose a lot more times than the other two.

Yeah for how huge this game there doesn’t seem to be too many people playing it on UA-cam. One Stop Co-op Shop also plays it on there channel and they do a great job so you might want to check them out too! 😃

Great stuff. It does feel like this solo mode might be a bit skewed towards the heroes, and in particular the Villain barely gets to seem to play - only maybe 3 Master Plan cards in both your playthroughs so far. I wonder if it might feel more like the multi-player game if the Villain started Under Pressure, just so they get to show what they can do a bit faster. But I see other comments saying that other Villains make things tougher so I'll wait and see I guess!
Thanks! Yeah I agree. I’ve seen a lot of chatter about it being too easy and a lot of variants and such that seem like solid ideas. As you say I’m waiting to see if it’s just the core that’s a little too easy and maybe it kicks it up a notch outside of that.
I like the idea of starting with no battle plan on heroic, and then if you get beat start adding one thing at a time til you find the sweet spot for that villain. Cause if I wasn’t filming I could easily see myself playing the same setup two or three times and trying different tweaks
I really enjoy these Marvel United playthroughs! I have a lot of Season 1 and Season 2. I'm not 100% excited for the new multiverse characters but the new solo mode and team decks are definitely interesting. The new solo mode really does give that feeling that the others are there supporting - like ant-man lending shrink/grow discs, or Captain America throwing his shield. Great videos!
Totally agree! Love the theme of the solo mode, as you say I can easily see in my head that others are just jumping in and out. Kinda feels like Champions in that way, that you’re the hero and the others are your allies.
Based on what people say on the internet I’m in the minority of people who actually enjoyed phase 4 lol so I think the new Core is awesome, but I can easily see it being underwhelming for people. The expansions look even better though, that Inhumans box is AWESOME
But it’s all about the team decks for me. I just cannot wait for those and I think they’re really gonna take this game to the next level. It’s just enough more to kick it up to a decently deep game with soooooo much variety and combo potential. And I don’t care for one second about trying to keep teams legit lol. I just look at them as a modular set to throw into any group to add a new flavor. So so cool
@Get Up and Game! agreed about the inhumans box! I didn't follow them until Marvel Crisis Protocol bit those minis are amazing!!!

@@GetUpandGame Absolutely love your Champions content, and I've had my eye on United for a while. So, as soon as I'd seen that you'd made United content, I was for sure gonna watch it. I almost spent £80 on it last night, for the Core set, X-Men Gold expansion and the Spidey expansion with Miles and Gwen.

I see you're using the plastic tokens, are those also the cardboard locations? What do you think of them? The tokens are a bit pricey, but I'm tempted...
I LOVE the plastic tokens! The locations are nice for sure but a bit inconvenient. If you want the threat to hang off the edge like it’s supposed to you also have to use another little piece of cardboard to prop it up. That’s why I have the threats all the way up in the locations lol. I didn’t feel like getting those out. Plus you have to find more storage for them. I do like them, but if I had it to do again I might not get those
I do also love the cardboard villain dashboards and the mission tracker/cards. Those are really nice too

Are the tokens cardboard punch outs, or do they come in plastic?
The tokens that come with the game are cardboard, but there were plastic tokens available in the Kickstarter. I don’t think those are available outside of that though 😕
@@GetUpandGame that's what I kinda figured. But the game does look fun and simple. Might look into getting the base game in the future
@@alexbiersner3350 it’s really fun! I liken it to Pandemic where you’re managing the fires around the board til you can position yourself for a win. One thing about it that is a consideration, it’s definitely a game that gets better the more stuff you have. Particularly villains. The core set villains are fine but pretty simple. The expansions start to add more interesting villains as well as modular challenges that can be added to any scenario. Not good or bad but something to think about!
Oh no doubt, it's the norm for games like these. Looking at you Marvel Champions. Had to give that game a break while the mutant block was going on
