      This case is local to me, and I have been following it from the start, and
      has been thus far been a travesty of justice for the victim and his family that's been patiently waiting on a trial
      In hopes of getting justice for their
      Son, father, brother or other family members. I've never heard of such a thing and very disappointed our legal system has allowed this to go on for 4 years. At one point does a judge tell her that if she is not happy with the court appointed attorneys, to hire her own.? She could go through 50 court appointed attorneys, and the case evidence is the same. My heart really go out to the family especially the parents of the victim. I'm not sure I would've been able to suffer in relative silence it somebody close to me.

    In Sarah's world she's above the rules and that's just a fact of life other people need to accept. At this point I'm convinced she's completely incapable of wrapping her mind around any alternative to that perceived reality. She killed a man, torturously, and genuinely doesn't think she did anything wrong. She's never going to be able to understand and accept something like ethics.

      I agree, she wants a lawyer to control and get on board with her made up defense strategy.
      I only half agree with Peter though, in that i think she might be hoping for a change in her charges. By fighting the process, therefore delaying it, she may think different charges could result. Of course whilst technically a possibility, the State wouldnt do that, but her rediculous (& possibly clinically diagnosable personality) thinks she's able to sway & control people to that extent.

She is a wretched women. I just don't see her at a Leticia Stauch level conniving, sadistic, pure evil monster, the way I see LS to be. • @QemeH
      @QemeH 3 місяці тому

      I don't think so. She reads more as a narcicist to me. So she absolutely thinks she is right and only did the thing everybody says is so wrong because of the victim and nobody wants to see that. And since she probably has been a narcicist all her life, she's also used to having "inferior" people disagree with her and be complicated with her, but usually she can out-argue them fairly easily. What she has not learned (and can not learn due to being a narcicist) is that they don't give in because she "won" with her arguments, but because she wore them out. So while the technique may _read_ as intentionally wearing out the patience of the court, from her perspective it would be "I just gotta explain this a hundred times, like I always have to with dumb people". She will find out that the court will not be worn out (or in her mind "be convinced by her superior arguments"), which will send her into a deep spiral basically all narcicists go into when finally confronted - violence. I predict at least (!) a verbal outburst on sentencing, maybe even throwing hands with the bailiffs.

  • @ninastanek3388
    @ninastanek3388 3 місяці тому +23

    I think she’s delaying unconsciously. Her mind wants to save herself from the reality and what she did. Probably because something went terribly wrong. It’s easier to write letters of „innocence“ or disagree with every lawyer than to have to face the truth in court and get convicted by a Jury. Her only chance is taking the stand and she knows all the evidence against her. It’s a one way ticket, therefore I‘m with Judge Scherer on this. As long as she isn’t convicted, she can betray herself with „her“ truth and that she’s innocent.

    I'm sure she realizes she spoke too much to the police officers who responded to the scene, as well as to the interrogators later at the police station. The video from her phone is incriminating. Given all this, I'm sure her previous lawyers have tried to formulate the best defense argument possible while still maintaining their ethical responsibilities. I think she views ethical responsibilities as a nuisance and an obstacle to be overcome. She can't get past "unintentional." I agree with you Peter that she's not delaying a trial for the sake of delaying. I think she views herself as the brainchild of her own defense strategy and that she's looking for a malleable attorney who will merely act as a technician.

    @Peter Tragos or @Lawyer You know
    Here's a prediction of a scenario that fits this Judge's speculations and the lawyers' withdrawals:
    Bankowitz opened a door for Sarah Boone when he proposed the battered spouse defense. Sarah Boone has either
    1) expressed to her Lawyers she will tell an expert lies about her and Jorge's domestic violence to make herself appear as only the victim and never the perpetrator
    2) told her lawyers differing accounts of the DV to where they know she is lying
    3) has done both of these and expressed she will give false testimony regarding the DV

    Sarah Boone's explanation of why her now deceased boyfriend was in the suitcase is absolutely ridiculous! She claims that they were playing hide and seek but they were the only two playing and she put him in the suitcase so she knew where he was so how is that playing hide and seek? It absolutely makes no sense! I cannot believe that no one has mentioned this! The object of this game is to seek out the players that are hiding, hence the name Hide and Seek. If she put him in the suitcase and knew where he was then he's obviously not hiding and she's not seeking! She needed to come up with a reason to explain why he was in the suitcase but its ludacris to say that you're playing hide and seek with only one other person that you yourself put into the hiding place!

    In respect to her relationships with her lawyers there is one common denominator…her. I’m no lawyer but I’m almost willing to bet that she is still unwilling to accept responsibility for what she has done. In her mind, she fully believes she is the victim and that thinking probably leaves her unwilling to accept the consequences for her actions. Her lawyers are probably telling her, “Look Sarah, you’re going to be doing a significant amount of prison time, the big question is how much time.” The fact she hasn’t plead guilty to me means she doesn’t think she did anything wrong. At some point this judge is going to get tired of all the delays and the amount of taxpayer money this eats up. He will schedule a trial and tell her that it will be happening whether or not she has representation. Also, it could affect her sentencing as well, especially in a case with so much incriminating evidence.

    my biggest worry about this case is- this will create the template for other defendants as a "how to delay your trial infinitely" depending on how long this goes without forcing her to move on and go to trial. In fact, is it possible Boone is savvy enough to already learn the more difficult she is, the more conflicts she gets into with counsel, the longer she can delay this. And even continue to test the courts on how long she can indefinitely delay her trial?

    • @grimtt
      @grimtt 3 місяці тому +3

      It’s an old tactic but probably more successful back in the day when cases relied heavily on witness testimony (which fades or ppl die) or evidence that might get lost or deteriorate over time. At least now with digital camera footage, better ways to collect, analyze, preserve DNA and other physical evidence, a case can be “on ice” for a while. That bodycam video of the suitcase will be just as poignant down the road as it is now. It’s her own memory which might get addled the longer she dwadles! I think SB wants to control everything rather than trust someone else knows better how to mount her defense.

    I don’t believe they were playing hide and seek. I don’t believe she “accidentally” fell asleep. I believe they were drinking and fighting, she beat him and put him in the suitcase, filmed it, and thought she’d let him stay there as long as she saw fit. She was probably so drunk she didn’t care if he lived or died, and went to bed. She probably didn’t *expect* him to die, because she’s not smart (even though she says she excels at everything and was a straight A student 90 years ago). She probably woke up, went to the suitcase to “let him out,” saw that Jorge had died, panicked, called her ex-husband, who told her to call 9-1-1. She called and pretended to be doing CPR-she was merely counting out loud, CPR is exhausting and there was no sound of exertion while she was counting, nor was there any sound of her putting the phone down to administer CPR. She tried to think of a cover story to explain how and why Jorge even got in the suitcase so she fabricated a story that they were having a “good day” and they were “playing hide and seek” and then as a “joke” Jorge got into the suitcase. She even said to the first responding officer “We both were laughing about it.” (Lie.) Almost every word out of her mouth is a lie. She is definitely guilty of second degree murder, though she feels that it being “unintentional” means one is off the hook completely in the eyes of the law. She is absolutely unbelievably selfish, narcissistic, and powerfully stupid.
