The Avata self flipping thing is called "washout". It's a common thing that happens to cinewhoops with propguards, but it seems to be more prominent with the Avata in manual mode.
@@ezisTEvagy you absolutely can, just either 1. go slowly (with a low camera tilt angle), 2. Do wide turns if you're going fast, or 3. Slow yourself down before turning sharply going fast. Also update your Avata to the latest firmware, since DJI implemented a self-save feature when it detects your drone flips unexpectedly. It already has saved me a couple of times.
The crash looks similar to many other who review Avata, look at some FPV channels on UA-cam posting examples / issue with factory PID setting, in other words when you sharp yaw turn notice that bobble that happens, thats prop wash , gyro over corrects control and then crash.
What about gyroflow and post editing? They say on their site that be avare of ND filters, don't use it, the faster the shutter, the better result will be rendered out in the stabilized footage and you can add motion blur in post production. I must try.
Can you comment on resolution sacrifice? Do you have to sacrifice resolution in order to get smoother footage? I mean, due to stabilization? Or resolution can be maintained at 4K through all the post-processing? Thanks!
nice video, about your crash the Avata has some problems with sharps left turns my has an upgrade motors and still does the same thing do not fly this drone like a regular 5" fpv drone till DJI fix this , chances are they won't.
great info. I just want to focus on flying, can i leave it to auto with nd16 or 32. just want to decrease the shutter and remove the blown out footage, will i still get a great footage vs with no nd filter

I am a photographer and we hate high iso coz of the noise, plus for me it is strange when the exposure is changing in the video - now I mean when iso is changeing, then the footage will become lighter. Just I don't know that, on the end will it give you better result, or is it better to leave the settings fixed?

Ive started applying nds to check what the shutter would be in different conditions. By testing that on cloudy days, sunny days, overcast, partially cloudy days, you get to know what to use when. Then i switch to manual settings and use the appropriate nd when i fly.

No, just no 🤦 Always double the fps. Of course, if you need to you adjust accordingly to get better exposure. But always ND and always double the fps regardless of movement. I do use 50fps and not 60 which ill cover in a different video. This record was just made with the 60fps settings as i had to factory reset the avata and goggles back to CE.

Here is the statement from Gyroflow documentation: "A 90 degree shutter is typically a good compromise between artifacts and pleasing motion blur, and is thus a good starting point. In filmmaking, the 180 degree shutter rule is commonly used (shutter speed half of framerate). Depending on your use case and amount of shake, applying Gyroflow stabilization may result in undesired motion blur artifacts. Note that even higher shutter speeds can make the footage look less "cinematic" due to the lack of motion blur. If you're only concerned about stabilization, a higher shutter speed is generally better." So, on one of my latest footage from Avata after stabilization with GyroFlow i've got tons of artifacts and i wonder if the reason for that was 180 degrees shutter. I will probably try 90 degree shutter and fly the same location to see if that helps. Maybe it was just the issue with the footage or something else. I will let you know.
Sorry about the AVATA. Looking at footage, looks like the wind got it and flipped it. After that…game over as they say. CineWhoops and winds just don’t mix. Happens to the best of us…hopefully your back will n the air soon. Anything over 15mph winds seems to get a bit risky with the quad.
Sorry to hear about your drone dude! That’s pretty concerning since it should fail safe into a hover! I had a similar problem with my viswhoop which similarly dropped out of the sky because I flew through some saltwater spray… 😖
@@RobHK you should totally reach out to DJI and send them your logs. Sounds like they still need to iron out some bugs. I saw @AdventureFPV had his Avata lose control when doing slow nose over flips. Maybe something like that happened?

Ye, you can adjust this with the Exposure Value(EV) as well.
in manual mode, you can set the ISO to auto and while the shutter speed is set to double the frame rate? its like a shutter priority settings?

This happened to me in auto mode too. DJI almost didnt want to take responsibility for it.
