I like how you're prioritizing great initiative over "better" abilities. That's how I know you're a player and not just a theory crafting keyboard warrior. It's not like you can use the top of every card, every rest cycle. Sometimes you just need a bottom move!
I wanna say for anyone Googling guides give this one a shot. Once you've played the Crag a few times, you'll really see how taking the low initiative cards he does even if they're not the most "powerful" on paper improves the flow and experience of playing the Crag. Excellent guide.
Read your guide! Very good. Creating obstacles is one of most powerful abilities in this game. Some scenarios becomes very easy with proper obstacle management. In GH Digital I had some maps where monsters are constantly spawning in one room, where Crag constructed obstacle belt, leaving mandatory opening (where tank was standing). So tank was being hit by only one monster, everyone was healing tank and shooting ranged attacks. Felt a little cheesy, but then again, you have to be tactical :D And use all your tools to ensure victory :D
I've played probably about half of the characters in Gloomhaven and Cragheart is still one of if not my favorite class. That Forceful Storm + Unstable Upheaval combo has to potential to be absolutely BONKERS... and you can do it at level 1! Pair it with power potions, goggles, and a warhammer- you've got yourself a scenario changing turn.

James! This is my favorite mid level class. Probably not the most powerful but so much fun. I like making "mazes" for the non flying enemies.
Yep one of the best designed classes for sure!
Cragheart TD
So much fun. I'll play one as my next character.
You seem like a chill guy that would be fun to hang out with and do some dungeon crawling. Props to you man!
Don't suppose you live in Calgary huh lol
Craggy suffers with low movement; high movement plays a big factor in the choices
totally. some card choices can make playin crag insanely awkward!
Love your videos, really helpful. Would you be doing a guide on Scoundrel?
I see that shadows of brimstone in the background
Wait, so you CAN'T push the monster through an obstacle if there is a empty hex where that monster COULD be pushed? Talking about heaving swing.
heaving swing you can because it specifically says you can but normally push has to go into empty hex
Ooooh, ok, then I misinterpreted what you said in the video, as this is the way we play it. Thanks for the reply :)
What about envelope x guide?
