    I would have liked to have seen your take on the Craghearts level 1 cards and card swaps throughout the levels. Nice video! My buddy is a Cragheart in our group and we’ve had a lot of success with it.

      Cragheart is just an awesome class! Fun, balanced, good nuance. I'll be putting out a ton of Gloomhaven content over the next couple of months so I'll try to incorporate something like that in. Also, coming out today, Circles class guide where I go through every single card! Thanks for the suggestion and for watchin!

    My friends and I started Gloomhaven a couple months ago. My first character (and only one, so far) is a Cragheart, currently level 5. It's fun to hear what other people have to say about it!
    I'm a little surprised to hear you think Backup Ammunition is a trap card. It's 5 xp each session (including the extra one from Forceful Storm), so I'd almost be willing to play it just for that. Even considering that one charge is usually wasted, the effect is strong enough that I'm always pretty happy with it. Opposing Strike is the one that feels a little weak to me. So much of my strategy as a Cragheart is about preventing melee enemies from closing in for an attack. I feel like most of the hits I take are from ranged enemies, where the retaliate doesn't help. I think it's a pretty rare scenario where I take 6 melee hits. My party also has a Scoundrel and a Brute who became a Two Minis though, so maybe party composition is a large part of it.
    SPOILER for level 3 card!
    I LOVE Clear the Way. If there isn't a handy obstacle, I just play it with Avalanche. Plus that way you still have an Earth to use next turn. It's a non-loss card that generates 2 xp and attacks an area. It might be my favorite card.

      Tom thanks so much for watching the video and taking the time to comment! Avalanche and clear the way is a great combo, I love it! I think we are playing a little differently though, and that's great. Even when I play more ranged focus I get into melee some because the Cragheart isn't a "tank" per say but has max hit points and also a hand size of 11. Especially in 2 players, Crag needs to be in close to absorb some of the aggro from whoever else you are playing with and because of his high hit points it works well. I don't think Backup Ammunition is a bad card, in fact I think it's good, but the problem is it looks amazing. It can be pretty easy to waste a charge or two, especially in 2 player where there are far less enemies. Thanks again for watching the video and don't forget to subscribe! Hatchet Guide coming out next.

    Backup Ammo and Earthen Clod are a good room opening combo at low character count. I kept it even at level 9. Damage 2 and immobilize 2 target at range 5 is a pretty effective way to open doors

      range 5 is really nice considering Crag's low mobility, but if you are entering a small room and expect to find enemies in close range, Massive boulder can be a great opening move. You want to use it when there's plenty of suffer to disteibute.

    My brother and I just started Gloomhaven on Monday and I went with Cragheart. I completely misused him and we couldn’t beat Scenario 1 as a result lol. Need to really learn how to best utilize these cards.

    Hey man. Love your energy and enthusiasm. Keep up the good work and your channel will grow. You're one of only 2 channels doing Gloomhaven stuff as far as I can see, so thanks for helping me out with all this advice. I just retired my first character (Tinkerer - so much fun), and I'm trying to decide who to go with next (Crag/Brute/Scoundrel/Doomstalker/Plagueherald). I can't make my mind up haha. My party is my bro and sis (Summoner/Mind Thief).

      Thanks so much! Spoilers below..
      I would take doomstalker or brute with the mind thief/summoner. doomstalker can tank if need be but also does great at range. brute is a tank and can help take aggro away from the summoners summons so they can survive longer

    I will stand by sentient growth every day of the week. Yes it's terrible damage but it's great for a quick heal and some minor damage on close enemies.

    18:20 the reason you think it is game breaking is because you cannot make 1 enemy suffer the damage 3 times and you think you can. It is really good, but not as good as you think it is

    • @neuralnetgames6540
      @neuralnetgames6540  3 роки тому +1

      Hey I don’t think 1 enemy suffers damage 3 times. Monster A/B each get targeted for atk 6 and then they each suffer 6. Monster C suffers 6+6 =12. Total of 36 dmg(+/- modifiers). This was one of my earlier videos so I wasn't as polished; I definitely should have had a graphic up to illustrate but the combo works exactly like I stated in the video! Here’s a thread with the question answered directly by the creator of the game, Isaac Childres. boardgamegeek.com/thread/1781492/cragheart-level-9-card-questions-item-interaction

    • @jaredrichardson78

      @@neuralnetgames6540 Ok, we take that example, attack Monster A, takes 6, Monster B and C suffers 6. Monster B takes another 6 from being targeted with the second attack. Monster C cannot suffer, because he has already suffered 6 damage from the attack, but A has not, so A suffers 6 damage.
      I suppose that is still a metric shit ton of damage, 12 + 12 + 6 is a ton of damage!

    • @neuralnetgames6540
      @neuralnetgames6540  3 роки тому +1

      It's pretty confusing but because you are not targeting monster C, it can be hit twice with splash damage, so its 12 to each monster in a triangle configuration. You resolve each attack separately, apply splash damage and move on. It's true you cannot target the same monster twice but because C is never the target it takes adjacency damage from each attack to A & B!

      @@neuralnetgames6540 are you sure? How is that different from the "throw three rocks" card that can't hit the same monster 3 times?

    • @neuralnetgames6540
      @neuralnetgames6540  3 роки тому

      It's all in the wording and the wording on my card is more ambiguous because it's a 1st edition card! If you google up the new card it's much clearer, or you most likely have a 2nd edition card. Rock slide says "all allies and enemies adjacent to one or more created obstacles suffer 2 dmg" meaning they suffer 2 dmg max!

    I am playing the Cragheart in the steam version with a friend. I'm not enjoying him, but your suggestions are going to help a lot and maybe at some point I'll develop a soft spot for the rock man.
