RIP to the best manager of all-time Bobby "The Brain" Heenan Stream 100s of Full Shoot Interviews ➡titlematchnetwork.com/wrestling-shoot-interviews-results/
My Mom never understood why I liked pro wrestling, but during the last year while she was dying of cancer, she wanted me to be with her and said go ahead and turn on wrestling. She would laugh so hard at Bobby and Gorilla throwing verbal jabs at each other, while they were hosting. Bobby never knew the joy he brought her. I saw him quite a few times wrestling and managing in the 60s and 70s, both at the Chicago Amphitheater and the Hammond Civic center.
He was good at his craft, very funny and greatly experienced, yea we get it, but on every video for any star, there are 200 comments on this person being THE greatest at something that ever lived,; mostly a bunch of kids caught up in the moment to impress others in the section of their extreme adulation and can't recognize someone was one of the best, ...blah, blah...Like he stated, and some in the business didn't like it, he was basically a form of comic relief (on the heel side) for wrestling, there were those knowledgeable of the holds such as Soley, bodily make-up, ligaments, bones, muscles, like Monsoon was, etc., As for general announcing, Vince was very proficient, skilled and articulate before the days of the Mr. McMahon character, and they were all very good, maybe even better.
He was one of the best! He had a short lived talk show after wrestling with Lord Alfred Hayes - these fellows would have put Johnny Carson - no slouch he - to shame!
Bobby is the best. He’s wrestling Royalty. No manager ever was as great as him. I love this shoot interview because if you ever wanted to know about the business, this man is the real guru. I wish he did more before he passed.
Thank you for this. I'm about 1 hour in, and Bobby hasn't launched a personal attack on a single personality the entire time, when he easily could have. What a class act. There will never be another Bobby Heenan.
Had Bobby not succumbed to the horrible disease, he'd definitely have his own podcast on YT and endeared fans with stories of the territory days along with tongue in cheek humour. An excellent man gone too soon.
I showed my dad this interview and he loved it. He really thought Bobby was funny which he obviously is. That's what's missed in wrestling today. Good commentators and people that know the business

Bobby heenan the cream of the crop of wrestling managers the absolute best and the nicest guy in the world! Very easy going! Bobby the brain heenan forever!
I watch this every 6 months or so. Bobby seemed like such a good guy. Just one of the all time best. The best manager ever. One of the best color commentators ever. RIP Mr Heenan.
This is one best shoots as an old school wrestling fans I watched a lot of his 90s work with wwf /wcw great talent very entertaining Thank you Bobby RIP Bobby the Brain Heenan.
Maybe the best heel color commentator, as there is a big difference in that claim by itself. I think Ventura, being an ex-wrestler was just as proficient, though I loved Heenan too.
Miss him so much, this men was so talented, intelligent and knew is job like no others! WWF during their peek had key players and Bobby was one of them!. R.i.p Mr Bobby Heenan 🙏 Best heel manager to ever step in the ring.
Absolute Gold! Absolutely priceless. Full 2 hour sit down with Bobby "The Brain" who's sadly no longer with us, and unarguably the best ever at what he did. Thanks for giving us this to cherish for years.
Watching this again today and getting emotional as so many have passed from the golden era. God what amazing times to be a kid. Sat morning WWF wrestling Challenge. And every now and I would wait late night to see if Sat. Nights Main event was on. Thank you, Vince McMahon, for making WWF such a great time to watch.
exactly, I remember those days, just hoping, and when the music hit 4 Sat Nights main event, life was good, best moments ever, Orndorff refusing to tag, bundy and studd teaming up, hogan, piper, what times that was
I’ve noticed that Bobby Heenan is one of the rare people in the wrestling business that has the respect to call wrestling fans “fans” and not marks like so many other people like Vince Russo for example. In fact Russo constantly calls the fans marks because he has no respect for the fans and the wrestling business itself and believes that he’s above the fans as he’s an excellent writer and the fans are just dumb marks!!! God I miss Bobby Heenan and when I saw some of the last pictures of Bobby Heenan before he died I cried! Bobby didn’t look so good at his WWE Hall Of Fame induction compared to how he looks here but still looked a million times better than in those last pictures. And when Bobby talked about the nerve in his jaw that’s making him slur some of his words it makes me think it can’t be long after this video that he went into hospital to have it fixed and they found out that he had cancer
Heenan and Vince were gold on commentary. The era who listen to Michael Cole has no idea how good Heenan was as a heel announcer. I think Heenan is the best worker in wrestling history actually.
Man, i always liked Bobby Heenan, even as a kid. He was one of the few heels i loved to watch work. Bobby knew how to keep it clean and classy where it was kid friendly but also knew how to get stuff over that only adults would understand. He was an incredible manager. In my opinion theres bobby heenan and then everyone else is number 2.
@SimplyJ53 I think you should watch the vid again. There are multiple times where he expresses a favorable opinion on exactly what AEW is doing and is all about
I miss Bobby so much. Wrestling fueled my imagination, when I was a child. He managed my personal favorite, Curt Henning , and Rick Rude . The best set of heels .
I know this shoot video is over 20 years old, but I can't help but pause when he talks openly about Hennig, Piper, Savage, Miss Elizabeth, Orndoff, Snuka, The Bulldogs, Kanyon, and the Ultimate Warrior ALL OF WHOM were alive when this recording took place, and they are all gone. Just wow.

Bobby Heenan/Gorilla Monsoon were the absolute best imo, and cant be beat. Their chemistry was amazing. Heenan was just hilarious all the time.
Listening to this i really miss those days. I grew up watching the WWF starting in 85 when i was 12 years old. Ive been to so many live shows. Ive seen all the WWF greats in person. Me and my brother watched every weekend, we watched every Saturday nights main event. We recorded all of them on vhs and i still have most of them. My brother was 4 years younger than me and we were buddies who loved wrestling. That was 85 to the 90s. We love Hulk and Macho, demolition, bulldogs, hart foundation, jake the snake, andre and Bobby the Brain and just about the rest of them. We later loved Austin and Rock when we were in our 20s. Iam now 50 years old. My brother died 2 years ago from liver failure. The day before he died i sat with him in the hospital, he was awake but he couldnt talk. I sat with him and played wrestling on my phone while i held his hand. We watched Hogan and Macho on Saturday nights main event and we watched the Rock concert and some Austin. At my brothers funeral i did a eulogy at the end i told our life of wrestling and i said i would meet Stone Cold Steve Austin and tell him about my brother. Last september i met our hero. I live in nevada and steve lives close to us. He races offroad and comes to my small town alot. Steve signed an autograph to my brother and this memorial day 2024 my whole family and i are taking it to his grave and giving it to him. Im putting the autograph on his cross.
This post took me awhile because I kept tearing up. I have so many great memories with my brother. Hes up there with Bobby now and the rest of our heros
@@itchybeaver5266 I agree. I don't see Bobby being interested in how it works now. I know I am not as into it as I was in the 80s and 90s. I still enjoy it, but for different reasons. Where Bobby was so integral to what wrestling WAS in those decades, it makes sense that he would think the game was over.
As a kid in the UK in 1991, I was as fascinated by Heenan, Okerlund and Monsoon as I was with the in ring talent... those guys sold it, made it matter.

Bobby was the greatest! He was super funny and very down to earth! And this legendary manager actually flattered me by saying that i should be a wrestling manager because i had the look.bobby actually came up to me! It was in king of prussia pa. I actually could talk with him one on one! Bobby was super funny and the greatest guy! Rip bobby. I love you and miss you brother! Ron marcella
I trust Heenan's assessments. He has no axe to grind. He's not jealous or bitter like most former wrestlers. Just honest.... I'm sure that pisses off a lot of haters out there.
Until Cornett passes then everyone will see him as the best. I see him as the best now, corny is doing what no other manager ever did. Love Bobby but corny is the 🐐
Bobby Heenan said Hogan was always up for the big ones. Bobby said Hogan was always up for the big money matches. Heenan loved to say HULKAMANIA is DEAD! And Bobby loved every minute of it and Bobby loved every minute of Hulkamania in WWF and WCW.
Only problem I had with that was that they acted like Heenan had never managed a champion, as if his AWA run never existed. Always wondered if that was Vince's doing, or if Costas was that clueless about wrestling. I'm sure he wasn't a fan, purist that he is.
I love Bobby so much. I never missed Prime Time. My mom was a good sport letting me watch when I know she didn't care for wrestling, although every now and then I'd catch her paying attention. She liked looking at Rick Rude and The Ultimate Warrior, lol. I loved Bobby and Gorilla (and Roddy Piper later on) more than the actual wrestling. Loved the Bobby Heenan Show too. Wish I could've met him. It broke my heart to see him deteriorate and have his voice taken away. It must have been so hard for him.
Monsoon and Heenan were likely the closest we will see to Abbott and Costello. They bounced off each other so, so well. Heenan is a huge reason why being a pro wrestling fan back then was SO much fun. I know he is gone, but still, thank you for the memories.
When life is really, really getting me down I watch this. I’ve watched 20 times I bet. The best part is when he describes his admiration for Gorilla Monsoon. “He was a gentleman…”. I hope someone speaks about me when I’m gone. Bobby Heenan was the greatest of all time. I wish he was alive just so I could hear him talk about anything and everything.
My favourite part of wrestling was listening to Bobby and Gorilla on commentary back in the day. Bobby was absolutely hilarious to listen to. Really sad what happened to him. Rip Bobby, gone but never forgotten.
@ 40:20 Bobby says The Weasel Suit matches with Greg Gagne were great. @ 44:35 Bobby lists The High Flyers, Brunzel and Gagne as amongst his favorites to work with. When THE GOAT says you were great to work with, it must be true. God bless Bobby Heenan.
My favourite heel manager of all time, period!!! My favourite manager and the greatest manager of all time!!! As a kid, Bobby “The 🧠” Heenan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage was the reason I fell in love with pro wrestling. He is, was and will always be the 🐐 of managers. His knowledge of wrestling is through the roof. #RIPBobbyHeenan
Is he tho? He swore wrestling was dead cause the magic was gone and here we are 20 years later and going into another boom again. Most of what he said was right but not that lol
@marcuserickson4488 I don't see it. I feel like wwe is still the same, aew is all over the place, and wrestlers still wrestle the same. That new car smell wearing off.
He was the best! Remember him when I was a child he was the manager of Nick Bockwinkle & Ray Steven's. They wrestled at the Amphitheater in Chicago & Hammond Civic Center. Legendary matches with the Crusher & Bruiser. There was blood everywhere.
i consider myself lucky to have been a kid in the 1980s to have been able to watch the brain especially on monday nights when him and gorilla hosted prime time wrestling

"There's alot of guys that all pull in those places at 4 o'clock in the morning wearing galoshes."😂😂😂
Two people in wrestling I missed the most of Bobby Heenan and Mean Gene Okerlund there will never be anyone close to these two men ever
I use to love reading Bobby's little article in the WWF Magazine!
Love ya Bobby! May you Rest In Peace! The greatest of ALL TIME! What ever he did was top tier!
I'm watching this years later and this guy is an absolute beauty.
Thank you so much. This is the reason I got the premium because of the shoots and half of them aren’t even on here in full.
He is a likeable guy. Speaks from the heart.
If you want to witness the true genius of Bobby Heenan:
_Bobby Heenan on "Later with Bob Costas" (1989)_
Only problem I had with that was that they acted like Heenan had never managed a champion, as if his AWA run never existed. Always wondered if that was Vince's doing, or if Costas was that clueless about wrestling. I'm sure he wasn't a fan, purist that he is.
He flipped it on costas...it was a great battle of wits....
I've always loved Bobby Heenan. He was funny and he was just one of a kind
Monsoon and Heenan were likely the closest we will see to Abbott and Costello. They bounced off each other so, so well.
Heenan is a huge reason why being a pro wrestling fan back then was SO much fun. I know he is gone, but still, thank you for the memories.
I always knew the brain would have been a great person IRL. This interview proves it. Was a joy to listen to him.
He was an absolute genius.
I will never forget the brains comments on nitro the first show after Gorilla died, still makes me tear up
Me too. Seeing Bobby fight back tears makes me tear up.
Will never be another one like Bobby. Greatest manager of all time.
Bobby was a legend... probably quickest wited dude ever wonderful annocer as well
Bobby's hand grenade line about WCW, is one of the best and most apropos ever.
I miss this great man. Honest and was taken from us too soon.
Us “humanoids” will never forget Bobby The Brain Heenan.
A true legend. Rest In Peace.
This man brought so much joy to my childhood. I wish he was still with us 😢
he was an amazing man RIP
When im stressed or sad ill put on some Bobby Heenan he could always cheer me up. He's just.....Funny.
18:39 - Bobby's statement here really aged well.. even to this day 2024..
Everyone should want a true friend like Bobby Heenan.
22 years later, Bobby Heenan is still right about the state of pro wrestling.
@@marcuserickson4488The magic is gone though
He was the best! Remember him when I was a child he was the manager of Nick Bockwinkle & Ray Steven's. They wrestled at the Amphitheater in Chicago & Hammond Civic Center. Legendary matches with the Crusher & Bruiser. There was blood everywhere.
i consider myself lucky to have been a kid in the 1980s to have been able to watch the brain especially on monday nights when him and gorilla hosted prime time wrestling
I am 1 of the hams & eggers that followed the Brain since I was 6.
Thanks for posting this. It’s truly a gem. Bobby was a legend, we are lucky to have this 2 hour honest interview!
Thank you for uploading this, it’s such a treat to hear the brain!
We miss you brain. You were hilarious and had great natural charisma. I wish we could still have you and tell us these great wrestling stories.
