I do this all as a means to keep myself busy, happy and healthy! It's so unintentional, but doing things like these are the only way to enjoy life and create genuine human connection - regardless of whether you have wealth or not. Creating versus consuming and engaging with your community is the best way to support your mental health.
When you mentioned about sleeping on the floor until finding the right bed frame, it really spoke to me. I have no furniture in my room because what I want is on its way, for the right time. I’ve been particular about any materialistic collecting. So much so that I’m hella confident that I’ll either get what I want or better. Because of my passion for fashion and thrifting, combining forces has blown my mind because of the outcomes (not controlled). I recently left a relationship with someone who wasn’t able to understand my way of living. The same thing that piqued his interest about me (unique style attained through selective thrifting, stellar deal for a nonproblematic economic car, waiting for the best job for my early 20s- waited and received!) became a wedge between us (I’m patient, he’s not when making purchases and life altering decisions). I’m a hard worker but I never force. It taught me that it’s important to align your methods alike with people around you (or those who will let you be unapologetically you), to not be pressured to let yourself go.
I agree with so much of this! I grew up dirt poor like egg crate mattress on the floor no furniture no nothing so I got creative with room decor and beauty treatments when I was a teenager. I would get magazine pages from like vogue of beautiful pictures and cover an entire sliding closet door with them like wallpaper, I bought a large paper fan at an international store at the mall and used it as a large piece for decor. I’ve used dollar store hooks and hung scarves or clothes as decor. I used a garage sale bought diaper changing table with a mirror leaned against the wall on top as a vanity with a dollar tree silver plate to display any shiny makeup items/ body sprays or candles. I’ve used mirror wall stickers to reflect natural light, and a found outside lamp that I painted to match my room decor and bought a $25 vintage loveseat for my bedroom from the Salvation Army. I love going to libraries and botanic gardens and museums and parks as free beautiful places to visit. I also still only buy things I know I will use for a long time a have items I use and wear often like sweaters and thrifted dresses/ jewelry and purses that are over a decade old. I’ll take care of all my things even the stuff I got super cheap or free because I value my things and don’t want to have to repurchase them again. I also use free photoediting apps and Lightroom to take beautiful photos of places and add a filter that sets the mood in how I perceive the place like glamourising my life. i look on Pinterest as inspiration for pairing the clothes I already own in different outfits to pull off a trendy aesthetic.
U can also get dvds from the library!! There might be beautiful events and classes hosted by the library as well! Like flower-arranging classes. The library has so many free resources ❤
If you did ever need more video ideas I think a video on tips/tricks/walkthrough of upcycling and dyeing clothes to make new dresses would be great. Also re:old things losing their shiny novelty. I was just watching a beauty tip video today that mentioned how important it is to clean your things (focused on makeup and the vanity area). Instead of going and buying shiny new things when bored, get some isopropyl alcohol, clean the products, reorganize and take stock of what you own to make them shiny and new-feeling.
I think she’s done a couple of videos on it! But I’m assuming further detail? Particularly in the planning/design sector prior to the process of execution
Libra/Taurus energy 😄🛍️💖 I just bought new clothes and updated some things I’ve been putting off for too long. I forgot how great I feel when I am surrounded by beauty and fashion. In my own way! 😌
OH, thank you for this reply because now I understand some of myself too, (basically a Tauraus here regardless of being born in the tail end of Gemini...everything about me is totally Taurus!)
To avoid overbuying, research for the best colors and cuts of clothing for your body type (or pay a professional if you can) and evaluate your day-to-day activity. Do you walk a lot and need comfortable shoes? Do you need to dress professionally for work? Once you know what does and doesn't work on your body/lifestyle and your colors, there is a ton of shit you won't buy.
I used to live an hour north of LA so when I felt like it I would just drive to Beverly Hills to window shop. I wouldn´t even eat. I would make sure to eat before I left so I was with a full stomach. LOL And just go to walk around and be surrounded by beauty and luxury. It was so much fun.
Literally as I was watching your video, I’m in a local brewery wirking on jewelry projects. I’ll just bring whatever I want to focus on and will get my beer and a snack. It is BEAUTIFUL.
Just wanted to let you know that your content resonates deeply with me. I subscribed after one video! Btw, I'm 65 years old and have always had a sense of wonder and curiosity about esoteric and philosophical themes.
You reminded me of one occasion of art and beauty. Once my parents and I went for a coffee in a 5* hotel. Its a beautiful historical building in a ski resort packed with art- paintings and photographs from private collections. We went there and had a coffee and looked and enjoyed it all.
He who possess little is possessed that much less. Blessed be, a little poverty. The most frugal moments in my life taught me the lessons you’re talking about now. I appreciate my things and my experiences that much more. Everything has beauty and meaning and feelings of joy for me now. The quality of my life is reflected in the quality of the objects around me and the memories I cherish.
Absolutely. If you can’t afford the museum, I just learned your local library system might come with discounted museum passes- a lot of them you can reserve online as long as you have a library card. Also a lot of libraries have tools and stuff if you’re wanting to repair/ upcycle and need equipment. I’ve been doing this stuff my whole life as a trash rabbit who couldn’t afford all the things- or any things at all for a long time tbh. My partner and I literally slept on the floor for years because only one certain bed frame was going to work for us both, and it was way over our price point (thousands of dollars and we are in the scraping-by camp). Eventually someone near us was selling the exact bedframe, less than a year old, for a hundred bucks. We have a good number of things that are much nicer than we “should” have by using a lot of the ideas you mentioned! A lot of it comes down to paying attention to the things that matter to you about an object or experience, so you know the thing when you see it or you know what it is you’re holding out for.
Your videos are refreshing in a world full of people who are dying to be the same. We need more individuals like yourself. To bring all colors back into a blood-colored world. Thank you!

I’m 57 and can attest to all these things. I sometimes grab leaves and berries from a holly bush at Christmas and place them on my counter or even on a simple spice cake or simple sponge cake for decoration. If you make a Bundt cake, you can pile unpeeled Mandarin oranges or nuts in the middle and dust with powdered sugar. I buy the best trouser socks I can afford. And I’m about to purchase really nice, thick, fluffy bath towels. I hate the ones I have because of the color. I’ve had them forever because they were made well, but I am sick of looking at the color. I’ve held onto them for YEARS because I didn’t want to waste. But it’s now a mental health issue. lol
Loved this video! Switching rooms with your roommate sounds like such a fun and wholesome idea! A simple way to create new experiences and change your environment without spending tons of money.
Also that colour is amazing on you. Love all your different looks- you radiate such divine creativity feminine energy with all your different looks. Thanks again for all your videos - what a special soul you are - these times void of soul and meaning need you desperately.
Don't worry about the lenght of the video, the quality of the content is what really matters the most. For me, it was the most valuable video I have watched in a long period of time. I prefer longer videos because there is opportunity to dive deep into the important details instead of rushing it. It is like fast food versus home made menu. You're definitely the home made menu for me in this case. :D Though I still love cheaper things more because it gives me the playground space to channel my creativity to make new value out of them. And I fear less to mess it up in the end, I love to make gifts from scratch and items for my own personal use. It is my new comort safe space for mental recharge.
There’s a book I read a long time ago, called,The Rich Are Different. Although I can’t remember the story, my takeaway was rich maintain and care for, rather than throw out and replace their belongings.
If you don't buy something, head home and put some money in shares instead. America has micro-shares, so you can invest tiny bits. You will feel rich rather than splurged needlessly. Also helps break the cycle of young women being poor, buying on payment plans, while men hoard money and amass wealth they refuse to share.
I just got a $1 secondhand decanter for my blue mouthwash and it makes me feel like royalty to use that. I frosted a clear plastic container by nail filing it and now instead of seeing individual flosser picks it's just a frosty blue mystery box beside the mouthwash. Been peeling off labels and what a difference. Most bottles are neutral colours and look look kinda nice once you get all of the branding away. The shapes of the bottles become a visually interesting way to tell the products apart. Loving the process so far. I keep finding new ways to make little areas of my home prettier with such basic changes, easy swaps or minor repairs. It's great. Currently using one of my prettier metal belts as a curtain tie so that i get to look at it more than just special occasions
Oooh! I value "practicality and functionality" so much. Looking forward to this. What we have within us will shine throughout, no matter what our social class or income is, (outside of abject poverty at least.) I also think a lot of beauty is in simplicity and in choosing which not to do. Avoiding eating things that are no good for you is a way to have beauty and health. Also, choosing what to do or avoid is also beauty. Choosing to use simple lotions, (versus super swanky high cost lotions,) is a choice. Alternating and using expensive sometimes and simple for the other is another choice. Also, something that I realized when I started to do anything related to beauty products, (after 45 finally started using lotion, silly me, I do not recommend wasting that long,) one thing that was high on my list is, "I don't want to use product that is going to expire at midnight!" I wasn't looking to have an altered appearance that turned into cinderellas pumpkin when the clock ran out. Granted, I missed out on some amazing products and just started using occasional nightime moisturizer with retinal, (when I remember,) at age 58. Wow. Another thing that really helps even is understanding your own skin type. Okay, time to watch your video!!
i’ve never ever heard of sheepskin pillowcases. sounds expensive asf 😂 does it help prevent acne? i’ve heard that polyester pillowcases can dry out skin and could cause dirt/sebum buildup on skin and hair
I want to let you know that your teachings and shared philosophy has been a keystone in my understanding of life and wellness. Beauty had been the missing piece in my life. I was raised to discount beauty as frivolous, wasteful, vein. You taught me to understand that beauty is an imperative buffer for the soul. It’s the layer of protective fat underneath the skin that prevents a cut from penetrating straight to our flesh each time we encounter a sharp object. It’s the difference being feeling blue versus depressed on a regular basis. Beauty is medicine and necessary for our survival. Thank you for teaching this. No one else is saying this online. In another podcast you asked what the audience believe what love is or means? I found this amazing short video that explains it as best as I understand it myself. I hope you find this information helpful too. Thanks again. ua-cam.com/video/X9bVDnpsL74/v-deo.htmlsi=kRS6bEH8OkntqXfB
I love the tip about the museums but also go to a place that is beautiful like a national park or local park or even a state park always so beautiful and free also bring a tripod document your experience ❤
I like that you hesitated before you said "hesitate". This was a treat to get such a long video. Personally I would love to see more sewing videos as well! It's fascinating to see those kinds of transformations.
This happens to me too. I see item in my head (shoes/tops) and I wait for them sometimes for years as well until I see it. It’s the coolest thing when you finally find it and it makes it more exciting.
In my country, we ha a few services that allow you to postpone a few payments during the same period of time. It's a blessing that lets me purchase things that I will keep for years, instead of something that I would resent having in my wardrobe or "decorating" the flat. I really love the idea of dressing up for watching films at home. It can be an occasion, especially since I do it regularly in Discord servers
I have collectors mentality with a lot of books and tech stuff, musical instruments, etc. but with clothing I find it so difficult to find because I don’t have good thrift stores where I live. So even though I wear fast fashion I just get all black basics and replace them when they wear out :( but it’s pretty quick.
We are too poor to be buying cheap shoes. I've made that mistake in my younger days. I don't even blink putting down good money on shoes that will feel good and outlast me with proper care.
One time I had no money I went outside and I harvested a flower and I grew it up strong and then I brought it to the cement jungle City and I planted it then I came back a week a week later and saw that it was alive I thought why do such things then I thought somebody might see this little flower and feel empowered to grow so strong and such adverse conditions then I thought about our designer and I laughed and I hugged the tree and I hug you in your mind I love you have a great 🧬 life ❤️
I love this! I've been doing a low-buy year and seeking out content in that sphere, but so much of it is based on function over form. I am deeply affected by the beauty around me and the perception of beauty in myself. It is exponentially worth it for me to thrift beautiful home goods to replace ones that work perfectly fine because I get a little rush of happiness each time I use them. That is worth it to me!
You deserve so many more subscribers! I’ve been watching for a while now and have never checked your sub-count. I am shocked to that its not even at 100k.. Your videos are so well done and you have such a consistent aesthetic and such mature wise words,,
Can we see some of the dresses you upcycled? I want to upcycle so badly, you gave so many options and advice to live more beautifully I’m going to take a evening walk after dinner the sunsets here are so gorgeous thank you
I’d also add Maison Margiella as a great fashion house to look up when it come to upcycling clothes. Maybe not so much very particular patterns, cause it’s all very complicated, but the overall approach and philosophy. Deconstruction, upcycling and the beauty of mundane are the pillars of this brand. I remember how I was watching an amazing series from Bliss Foster about this house and just got so inspired that I took my recently thrift man’s shirt, buttoned it in a weird wat, snatched the waist, all without the sawing machine. God I love this shirt, the way I could find this piece of clothing with it’s history and add a little bit of my history to it and make it fit my body, just makes me a tiny bit happier each time I wear it)
Celiiinee! Your videos are popping lately oh my gosh. You're the only content creator I can trust to be on point in every single video. You deserve all the growth you've gotten lately and much much more 💖
This video was the evidence i needed to finally pull the trigger on splurging ti go visit my best friend and incidentally found insanely cheap flights the week of fashion week to go see her and im so glad to have watched this video rn
LOVE this video!!! i’m a HUGE thrifter and have been for maaaaaaany years now. i also have many examples of waiting for items to find me. im a huge twilight fan and looked for vintage twilight shirts in thrift stores for YEARS. like YEEEEAAAARRS. almost everytime i went to the thrift store i would look through every single black t shirt as if it was going to be there. and one day it was!! two of them actually!! i couldn’t believe it but i was so glad i waited. since then i’ve found sooooo much twilight merch, i have NO merch i haven’t bought from a thrift store.
I hope you do an upcycling fashion video! I'm working on some upcycled designs this weekend, going to make a satchel bag and a few other things. I watch a lot of films on Criterion, and also watch a lot of fashion shows on UA-cam-very transportive!
I was just talking to my boss yesterday about buying a lamp. It's a little more than 300 bucks, but I have never wanted an object more in my life. You mentioning that you can make payments on those things made me double check it---I CAN DO IT. I'M GONNA DO IT. THANK YOU FOR THE CONFIRMATION.
On your last tip suggesting visit a beautiful restaurant and ordering the cheapest thing on the menu for the sake of just being there... my ex and I used to cook out meals at home, and then go out to a beautifully appointed restaurant for dessert. That way, we could get the satisfaction of a full meal, but embellish it with the ambience of a place that we couldn't afford for to have the entire meal in.
Thanks for the advice!! ❤ I would love your view point/advice on something that is more interior - how do we accept being misunderstood? & how do we find like minded people? I have a feeling you will have an interesting and insightful perspective on this. After a lifetime of feeling different and misunderstood, I wish that I can say that it has only strengthened me in my individuality, it has to a degree, but it has also made me hate feeling misunderstood, especially when people try to categorize me in a narrow box. How do you ignore those voices? I have loved your videos on confidence 🫶🏻
Sadly I can’t thrift clothing because I’m 6-1. I have to buy all my clothing online from the same average quality brand that I’m sick to death of. I feel like, at 52, it’s time for me to start wearing grownup clothes. 😅 I plan to start sewing some higher quality pieces. I have some black linen sitting here waiting to be made into something comfy and beautiful. I am in the middle of a body transformation and I also just figured out my kibbe body type so I can’t wait to get started. Maybe today will be the day!
I would really like to see a house or wardrobe tour From you. Would be nice to see some of your favorite items and how you’ve styled them, interior or fashion wise
I have a very similar mindset to you - a lifetime of parents spending poorly on poor quality 'it'll do for now' items and then it just stays and looks shit, feels shit and is uncomfortable until they replace it with another low quality 'for now' item - they've done it with all sorts: dining chairs, sofas and mattresses to name a few. I moved out and decided I'd never waste money like they do - my Husband and I spent a LOT on a high quality mattress and I've never regretted a single night of comfortable, blissful sleep. We also spent a lot of money on a high quality sofa; we made do without one for months until we could afford the one wanted and it was absolutely worth the wait. "Buy cheap, buy twice" is a really true adage in my experience.
loved that this showed up on my algorithm - it speaks to my own philosophy and relationship to things so much! currently my mattress is on the floor and I don't have a couch yet hahaha but im perfectly content to wait for the right things to come and find me
My mom does some floristry for a lot of the weddings of the various young people she knows. They are usually on a tight budget and she spends the money on the flowers main, then she has scoped out her area from her walks. A waking track that goes along the back of a lot houses. So she knows where the Jasmine is, the Ivey, the various eucalyptus.
I would love to see how to up cycle clothes and make them into dresses! I'm disabled and struggle to find clothes in my size, nevermind my style and budget

this longer form of content is so beautiful too, thank you so much

There’s a book I read a long time ago, called,The Rich Are Different. Although I can’t remember the story, my takeaway was rich maintain and care for, rather than throw out and replace their belongings.
If you don't buy something, head home and put some money in shares instead. America has micro-shares, so you can invest tiny bits. You will feel rich rather than splurged needlessly. Also helps break the cycle of young women being poor, buying on payment plans, while men hoard money and amass wealth they refuse to share.
lol. Feminism strikes again 🤦🏼♀️. Men have more money because they do jobs that pay more and they don’t make senseless purchases like women.
i love that you speak freely into the full depth of your point! its not long it's gold!!
42 minutes, I’m in love with this♥️
I just got a $1 secondhand decanter for my blue mouthwash and it makes me feel like royalty to use that.
Finally brushed my sheepskin pillowcases today, oddly satisfying😂
Nice!
i’ve never ever heard of sheepskin pillowcases. sounds expensive asf 😂 does it help prevent acne? i’ve heard that polyester pillowcases can dry out skin and could cause dirt/sebum buildup on skin and hair
Ok I just discovered your channel and it’s life changing. I can’t get enough and I thank you enough.
I’m so happy you exist.
I'm so grateful for every second of this 42-minute video!
i love your mindset. this channel is absolute GOLD. also, congrats on the recent surge in subscribers! you deserve at least a million imo haha

IM GLAD SOMEONE FINALLY GETS IT!!! I have not been surrounded by people with this mindset!!!
I love the tip about the museums but also go to a place that is beautiful like a national park or local park or even a state park always so beautiful and free also bring a tripod document your experience ❤
The spirituality of thrifting! Genius , thankyou 🥰you have changed my life with this video
I like that you hesitated before you said "hesitate".
This was a treat to get such a long video. Personally I would love to see more sewing videos as well! It's fascinating to see those kinds of transformations.
ever since i found your channel, i don't watch anything else. this is it. thank you.
I want to upcycle so badly, you gave so many options and advice to live more beautifully I’m going to take a evening walk after dinner the sunsets here are so gorgeous thank you
I'd love that too! I've been obsessing about reversable clothes lately. I'm so interested to see how that dress was made, it is gorgeous.
Me too
She has a video showing some I believe!
26:42 YES!!! I love going shopping in my own house
Need to see her birth chart
As a Taurus rising, i sense Libra/pisces/ Taurus rising
She has said in earlier videos that she is a Virgo sun :)
the entire video I was admiring your dress, and it makes it even more beautiful that you upcycled it.
god the topics and ideas that you present are so lovely. i found your channel recently and you’ve already inspired me so much
This is what I am saying, live the gilded life no matter what station in life ❤
LOVE this video!!! i’m a HUGE thrifter and have been for maaaaaaany years now. i also have many examples of waiting for items to find me. im a huge twilight fan and looked for vintage twilight shirts in thrift stores for YEARS. like YEEEEAAAARRS. almost everytime i went to the thrift store i would look through every single black t shirt as if it was going to be there. and one day it was!! two of them actually!! i couldn’t believe it but i was so glad i waited. since then i’ve found sooooo much twilight merch, i have NO merch i haven’t bought from a thrift store.
Wonderful video; I love long form content and I love your videos... this is outstanding advice. ❤
Magnificent. I’m so excited to watch this.
I just clicked for the title and stayed , I really needed to hear this ❤
My people are here, thank you for creating this community
I feel so seen by this video
I found your tips very insightful and inspirational, especially as a guy who misses beauty in everyday life
I hope you do an upcycling fashion video! I'm working on some upcycled designs this weekend, going to make a satchel bag and a few other things. I watch a lot of films on Criterion, and also watch a lot of fashion shows on UA-cam-very transportive!
ur teaching me how to be happy in a lot of ways i feel i already knew but forgot at some point. thank you
We NEED more of the trashy series they are amazin'!!
LOVE that you said you'd rather have a little beauty than just stuff to use as filler! right on
Great video and helpful tips thank you so much ❤❤
I add organic shiro miso when I am cooking rice instead of salt. It smells and tastes much better this way.
I absolutely love your channel, I always thought I was weird for liking things a very particular way but your videos are super inspiring ❤❤❤
great channel and also your model level pretty so striking :) thanks for supporting others
please make your upcycling video! id love to see it, whether the algorithm wants me to or not!!
I would love your view point/advice on something that is more interior - how do we accept being misunderstood? & how do we find like minded people? I have a feeling you will have an interesting and insightful perspective on this.
After a lifetime of feeling different and misunderstood, I wish that I can say that it has only strengthened me in my individuality, it has to a degree, but it has also made me hate feeling misunderstood, especially when people try to categorize me in a narrow box. How do you ignore those voices? I have loved your videos on confidence 🫶🏻
Hi! love your thoughts.
I'd love a video about nails and how you do them etct etc
Please do an upcycling video!
It's good that you didn't make it into two parts cause by the time you finished, I was also finished with what I was doing. It was the perfect length.
Would be nice to see some of your favorite items and how you’ve styled them, interior or fashion wise
loveee the longer vids! I could hear you talk forever
Why are angels so sad is the question🎉
Don't they know they can go outside and make a beautiful garden ❤
Just found your channel, utterly obsessed. I think you just took me out of a many months long rut
I love this so much. I always enjoy your thoughtful videos. 🖤
loved that this showed up on my algorithm - it speaks to my own philosophy and relationship to things so much! currently my mattress is on the floor and I don't have a couch yet hahaha but im perfectly content to wait for the right things to come and find me
Hi I love your videos and find them so inspiring. I am curious what your thoughts are on celibacy and the 4b movement?
Thank you. I was already doing a lot of this stuff on some level but I’m inspired to enhance my experience even more.
Please don’t apologise for long videos, I can’t get enough!
I would love to see how to up cycle clothes and make them into dresses! I'm disabled and struggle to find clothes in my size, nevermind my style and budget
