I can’t recall more than 2-3 reviews I’ve written in my life. With that said, this is the most inconvenient, poorly designed product I can recall trying to use. With the original (recalled) Dreamstation you pressed a button to pop the lid, poured in the water and pushed to close. Deadly simple. Beautiful user experience. This is a *literal* five-step clumsy process. 1. Pull out the water chamber. 2. Unlatch a cheap plastic top. 3. Pour in the water. 4. Close and reconnect the lid latch. 5. Then, fidget to line up the chamber to get it back into the base. INSANITY!!!! What makes it even more bizarre is, they could have easily added a blow hole on the top of the chamber where you could have just poured in the water; or press a latch and have the top open without ever having to pull out the water chamber from the side. Bizarre!!!!
Preach! And if you don't pour it just right, you get water all over the place. Water + Electricity typically *do* go well together. (insert sarcasm). I was just told today that my doctor can't remote into my machine because I didn't move the modem from my old machine over. I wasn't aware I needed to do that? Was anyone else notified they needed to move the modem over? Such a pain!
One step forward two steps back! I have the 1st. Dreamstation and to add distilled water I simply lift up on the hinged door to fill. This "New" design turns that into a 5 step process. 1. Push down on indent. 2. Pull water reservoir out. 3. Pull up on lid to remove completely (note there is no hinge). 4. Align back of lid into the tabs then snap lid back down. 5. Slide container back in so it snaps in place. Seriously you guys should find some new product designers.
Yeah its alot smaller than the other dreamstation but quieter. I noticed if the tubing comes off the mask, the machine makes a little noise. It would be nice if it beeped.
I believe they could use some female engineers to get it right this time. It’s more like one step forward and 10 steps back! In plain English it really sucks big time! 😩😢😭😤😠😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤯
I’m so disappointed with this unit. Both my husband and I have to use one and filling the wells has now become an ordeal. I thought surely what looks like a button would pop the top up. I wish we had never seen this ridiculous thing. My 9-year-old great grandson could have designed one better and with little effort.
Of the five different humidified CPAP machines I've had over the years, this has by far the worst water tank, which is an even bigger come-down when you take into account that it replaced the machine with the _best_ water tank, the DS1. In a way, the fact that these machines aren't covered by my insurance is kind of a blessing, because it means once I scrape together the money, there's nothing to stop me going back to ResMed.
This is my fourth CPAP machine and it replaced my recalled Dreamstation 1. I really wish they could have just replaced the toxic foam out of my old machine. I now will have to deal with this insufferable piece of junk until the insurance will buy another one. Apria knew the Dreamstation 1 had defective foam when they sold it to me in November 2020 and so did Philips. I basically went from having a machine with defective foam to a machine with a defective humidifier.
Update: I don't know if my machine's humidifier is technically defective. I live in southern Illinois and the weather is all over the place in October. When it's cool and damp at night my humidifier will shut off and it becomes too dry for my sinuses. When the humidity is really low I will run out of water in 6 hours. When the humidity is high what prevents mold and dust mites from growing in the sound abatement foam that is in the air chamber? My next machine will not have foam in the air chamber. That foam should be sealed off. All foam breaks down in time and it should not be used in a part of the machine that has air flowing through it.
@@farmer2025able I'm still using it and having issues with the humidifier. In the winter the tank is too small and lasts for only 5 or 6 hours of sleep. The humidity will be going up this time of year and hopefully, it will use less water. I'm going to try moving it to number 2 instead of 3. I actually slept 8 hours last night and woke up to a bone-dry humidifier this morning. I filled it to the max before I went to bed last night. My sinuses were very dry and I hope I don't get a big headache from that.
This humidifier design is astoundingly bad. How do you go from a simple hinge system to this clunky, line up the tabs system? This makes the location I have placed my cpap for years incredibly inconvenient.
Omg I’m so happy I received the old version revised one today instead of the new Dreamstation 2. The revised Dreamstation 1 is technically the same. Except for the humidifier part. Which is a pain in the a if I read some it these comments. Anyway, the revised one has also cell data transfer, so you don’t have to use your own internet anymore. I like the Dreamstation 1 the most. It’s looks like a proper medical machine. The new one looks smooth and modern but I’d rather have a functional one. Also I like the tube coming out the top instead of coming out of the front like the new one does. Plus the nixed the pre-heat in the new ones. Happy with my revised DreamStation 1. Anyway happy low ahi sleeps peepzzz!
Pretty standard compared to Dreamstation original model's features. It is a little smaller, but not so much as to make a difference imo. I was sent this machine as a replacement due to the recall of the original Dreamstation. My major complaint is that the humidifier tank design is horrible. You have to slide it off and on, and the power cord gets in the way. There is a lid attached to the humidifier tank, and it clips on and off, quite fussy. If you have arthritis or are not dextrous, this will be frustrating to remove, fill, and carefully slide back into place. My adult son who is disabled could change the water in his machine independently, but now I have to do it for him. I find it tedious and I can't imagine why someone thought this design would be an improvement. I am debating asking the doctor for a prescription for a different machine. I would rather pay money for a better machine than use this annoying device I received for free. I miss the original humidifier design.
@@ymerojas When, because his sleep supply place would have told us. This is the dreamstation 2. The dreamstation 1 got recalled. The white one. We had to give it back.
I've had the DreamStation 2 CPAP machine for well over a year, I started having pain in my lower left side for the last 8 days. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the recall? Curious
@ Philips Healthcare: Hello Philips. Why haven't you yet sent this new C-pap device in replacement of the recalled ones??? What's the wait??? Us, patients, are still using the faulty device with toxic, cancerogenic foam that can enter our lungs... :(
@@PhilipsHC I am not sure how to reply in a private message, but my location is Seattle, Washington, USA. I have already been contacted by my C-Pap supplier and have registered my Dream Station with Philips for recall, and received a confirmation that my device is recalled. I feel this is too long of a wait for such a serious recall, and patients shouldn't be waiting this long for replacement/repair of their devices. Life without these devices is difficult, so patients are forces to continue using these dangerous devices, just to be able to function, without any estimated date and action is sight by Philips. This is horrible and disappointing!
Hello Una, At this time, the company is working to address all affected devices within the scope of this correction as expeditiously as possible. Philips will provide further clarity on projected dates for implementation of the correction to begin when this information is available.
Really hoping I get sent one of these and not a refurbished DS1. I paid $2700 AUD in May last year and would hate to get a refurbished unit as I would have no way of knowing if its a previously used refurbished unit or a "new" refurbished one with the new foam in it. I would hope that with my unit being 13 mo ths old when I registered for the recall that I would receive a brand new unit. I didnt drop almost 3k for a refurbished cpap machine. Would be nice to have more updates as well. 1 email late August confirming my confirmation of registration is bloody poor.
I couldn't have been more happy to get this today!! I have been one of the unfortunate few who still had to use the one that was on recall. Have to say, little depressed reading all the bad reviews!! I agree the water resevoir is definetly more of a pain in the a** than the old one. But I'll take that over using the one that i have which has been on recall for the last idk....2 years?!?! Some minor inconveniences are well worth it to me for having a newer non toxic machine!! Listen to yourselves people, so it takes a minute and a half instead of 10 seconds to fill water, not like its taking that much away from our day!! Now once i start using it i might bitch about it too🤣🤣🤣 but i doubt it.
It is Sept 2022 and I just received mine! It is a terrible design. I live on the road much of the time and it says plug into an outlet not connected to a lamp! Nearly impossible these days! And what’s with the water chamber you have to use it? Like the old one you did not have to use the humidifier system this one you must.
Guess i am lucky enough to not have to travel with mine. And i totally liked the old one better!! I just am geateful not to be breathing that shit in anymore because i was stuck using it, couldnt sleep without it. I always used the humidifier prior to this one anyway. I would guess dont fill it with water if you dont want the humidifier option. You would definetly think newer one would be easier to work but its not. Have had it 3 months and have it down pretty good now. Old one was MUCH easier all around tho
@@lollybabygoodman3877 haha!! NOOOO. It says not to plug it into an outlet with a lamp “that’s controlled by a switch”. This is so someone doesn’t flip the switch off and kill the power to the machine. You can hook it to any plug you want. Even with a lamp. As long as it has constant power.

From what I can see the Dreamstation is a far better design than the Dreamstation 2. I am supposed to get a new machine and I think I would rather have the Dreamstation with the new filter. Maybe you should drop the Dreamstion 2 and go back to the Dreamstation. That would make me happy.
The tiny fibers floating in the water tank are from the filter. I changed the company where I get the filters. Now only once in a while I see a fiber or two. I never use the machine a second time without changing the water. Never fill the tank to the level line. Fill a little under the line. I like the DS-2 a lot. It was a free replacement for a recalled device.
Hello! We are so happy to hear that you like the Dreamstation 2 device. Please remember to be sure that you are cleaning your filters every 2 weeks and replacing them every 6 months to help eliminate the fibers in the water tank. I registered (verified) to get my replacement device in August of 2021. I’ve made repeated inquiries, relayed and received info, jumped thru all the required hoops and still nothing. Made another call today after checking the patient portal and they’re saying that mine is slated to be shipped in April of 2023 but that’s subject to change. Lucky me.
I thought I was the only one with the water tank problem. I have tried to get it on COUNTLESS times. I have used this only once since I got it a year ago--or was it two? I do feel the effects of NOT using it. And now people are saying there is some kind of card or chip that has to be transferred from the old one to the new one? That has the original doctor instructions on it? There was no instruction about that. I do still have the old machine. Were we supposed to return that? Very frustrating.
I just received this device and was watching some reviews indicating that there may be a problem with VOC emission from the silicon foam. Is this true?

ive watched several videos on youtube talking about that same thing. the DS2 uses the same foam as another device philips sells outside the US and that silinone foam is releasing huge amounts of VOCs. i took my DS1 apart and removed the foam. i think i will keep using my old modified machine instead of this junk they sent as a replacement
The issue is with the foam in the device that is used to reduce sound and vibration. In some cases, this foam showed signs of degradation (damage) and chemical emissions. This is a potential risk to health. The initial concern with the foam related to possible emission of particulates (tiny particles) from degraded foam and certain chemicals of concern, called volatile organic compounds (VOCs). As a result, testing and assessments have been carried out. Review of this assessment has determined that exposure to the level of VOCs identified to date for the first-generation DreamStation devices is not typically anticipated to result in long-term health consequences for patients. It is important to note that the tested DreamStation devices were not exposed to ozone cleaning. Review of this assessment has determined that exposure to the level of VOCs identified to date for the first-generation DreamStation devices is not typically anticipated to result in long-term health consequences for patients. This new assessment is limited to the evaluation of VOCs for first-generation DreamStation devices and does not evaluate the risks of potential foam particulates or cover other devices affected by the recall. Further testing and analysis is ongoing Please note that it is important that you only use approved cleaning methods for our devices and masks, as unapproved cleaning methods such as ozone may contribute to foam degradation.
@@PhilipsHC Why are you not responding to the terrible reviews of this new CPAP? It's an awful design and I hate it! Can I get a refurbished (refoamed) dream station like I had before?

I got my DreamStation 2 yesterday to replace my recalled DreamStation. I found it fairly easy to get this new machine set up. My provider had it setup already to the settings I needed, the same that was on my original DreamStation. I like that the machine is smaller and lighter weight. I agree that the humidifier and location of the filters are more cumbersome. I used my existing dreamwear mask and tubing. I am putting in a request for a new tube and filters. When I first turned it on, I thought it sounded quieter--yay! But upon actually using it, I found it a bit louder for me with the sound cycling back and forth with breaths from higher tone to lower tone--sort of like a distant two-toned horn. UUUHHHH-uuuuuuhhh. Over and over... I guess slept well, around 8 hours with 1.8 AHI. But that sound is going to take some getting used to. My original DreamStation sound seemed to be a more steady hissing, white noise, which was better. I wish I hadn't had to turn my old one in when I got this new one so that I could have operated them both for a better comparison.
Sounds like Darth Vader with a wheeze. The humidifier is a bit more of a pain in the butt. Well... while it was working. mine no longer works or gives me options to adjust the humidification.
Ok, I have a question......after receiving my Dreamstation 2 recall replacement ,on the Basic Set-up & return instruction sheet,on the bottom of the page I'm guessing the fine print. It says" The enclosed device is being provided to you to replace your current device which must be returned to Phillips as soon as possible so that the old foam can be removed and replaced with silicone foam as part of the recall remediation plan". So does that mean that our original Dreamstation machine will be returned after the fix?...🤔 because honestly this toy looking gadjet looks like not much effort was put into it to make it user friendly. Especially the water tank in this one. I can image how the elderly folks are have to deal with all the unnecessary steps to put water in the chamber.

Sad news: If you dig around in the link Philips provided in their non-answer above and find the right question under the FAQ list, buried in the fine print under that one is the bullet point, "As we have previously noted in connection with the return of your DreamStation device, we will not be returning DreamStation devices back to the original user. Please review the DreamStation 2 Setup and Use video for help on getting started." So, no. I don't know where all our old DS1s will end up, but they won't be coming back to us, which is a very great shame, because they were _so_ much better than the DS2.
I received my machine today and I already detest the design. The water tank is so inconvenient and I spilled water 3 times with the first fill up. The designer clearly doesn’t understand how these things are used. I will replace this machine as soon as possible.

So... you have to REMOVE the tank to fill it? Same stupid mistake ResMed made with their S10... obviously designed by someone who doesn't actually have to USE a CPAP! More wasted space on my nightstand!

@@janetstyron9338 so you leave it on but just don't add water. My previous which I loved and they recalled you had to remove the humidifier completely if you weren't going to use the water tank. Making for a smaller machine that you could use for travel.
I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to convert this very poorly engineered Draemstation 2 into a portable unit by removing the heater plate and the water tank because I don’t require either of the them. The old Dreamstation model was a breeze (no pun intended) to remove the water tank and have more compact unit. Does anyone else think that maybe the people that design these do NOT use them? I’d they did, why would why they make a new model that is a worse design than the original?
My touch screen stopped working on my machine. Is there a way to hard reset it? I don't have time to send it in for repair and wait for a new one to come, i am going to a different state for business travel on tuesday.

The DreamStation 2 is my first CPAP, and so far so good...but everytime I get a filter reminder, I hit the dismiss button and the reminder just stays on the screen. I change the filter if needed and the reminder is still there. I end up having to unplug and plug it back in to get to the main menus to use the machine. Any idea why this keeps happening? My husband just received his new dreamstation 2 and just like the previous dream station we leave it plugged into the wall. I'm still trying to figure this one out. If you are using a full face mask because of stuffy sinuses, keeping your mouth shut is a bad thing. If you are getting dry mouth from a nasal mask, then you need a chin strap to keep your mouth shut. The machine doesn't do any good if it is blowing in through your nose and out through your open mouth. A humidifier helps to prevent dry mouth for people using a full face mask.

For the first few days I was able to do that, but then all of a sudden I get a big nope for any humidity adjustments. I received my DS2 replacement for the recall DS1. Does the change from the old to the new require taking the SD card from the old and put it in the new one? Does it require my supplier to set up my new machine?
I used mine without a card for the first couple of weeks. When I turned it on initially, it downloaded my profile and machine settings. Before my next doctor visit, I put the SD card in my computer, created a folder for the DS1 and moved all the old files into it. Then just put the card in the machine, and it created all the new files and history for the new machine. I miss being able to pre-warm the humidifier like the DS1 and it's a pain in the butt putting water in. And the front viewing screen and control was much easier to read and use.
This is the replacement for the “recalled” version. And this one is big and bulky in comparison. You’re forced to have the humidifier even though many people don’t use it. I don’t like this machine for that reason. I need one half the size like the last one.
really I have to take the unit apart to fill it up. I refill my container 3-4 times a night whos stupid ideal was this? Have you forgotten to use distilled waste by the gallon. unreal i need a new machine and two hands / tree hands to use it. Did anyone think to ask the customer opinion.

The first one I had, it took a few minutes to ramp from 4.0 to 11.o Now with this replacement it looks like it takes at least 15 minutes fo that to happen. And the ring looks greenish to me, not blue.
My replacement Dreamstation 2 unit arrived last night and I was completely dumbfounded while trying to lift the lid with the water reservoir still in the unit. On Dreamstation 1, you just push a tab, the water reservoir opens, you fill it, and then close it. Done and done. I said to my wife "I can't believe, but I think I have to pull the whole reservoir out every time I want to fill it." She read the instructions and lo and behold I was right. For this blunder, I would call the designers of Dreamstation 2 morons to their face if I had a chance. So, last night, while laying in bed and trying to sleep for my first night with this machine, I had a eureka moment: Drill a hold on the lid and either fit a PVC pipe with a screw top, or get a plastic plug that you can easily remove and put back. Problem solved. And if I ever have to send it back, I'll just buy a reservoir for $30 so they don't ding me for destroying the reservoir. It's sad that I have to go to this length to save myself time and frustration every night, but like Clint Eastwood said in Heartbreak Ridge: you improvise, you adapt, you overcome. The only thing is that the lid has 2 parts to it: the cosmetic top, which also acts as the latch mechanism to hold the reservoir in place, and then the actual lid to the reservoir. I may have to forgo the cosmetic top and remove it completely, exposing just the lid and do my work through that. We'll see. I'll post a video of how I did it when I get around to it.

Called Tech support phone number; Very rude woman said she was there only for shipping issues and asked me where I got her phone number. Had no idea how I could get help & hung up on me. 4. Very flimsy and cheap looking (DS2) looks like it will break very easily. 5. I only use humidity in winter, never in Spring, Summer or Fall. Can't remove it, even for traveling when this cheap, thin hard plastic is sure to break. Still can't get it to work so I'm back to my old DS1 hoping I don't get lung cancer.
Sorry I laughed but I totally understand your frustrations. This DS 2 is crappy. How do you turn it off. They say unplug from outlet. Closest outlet is behind a bed that can't be moved
I have many complaints about this effing machine that I’ve had for two or three years. The filling up the water takes five steps instead of one. The water evaporates before I get up so it’s just blowing warm air that’s my biggest problem. Totally dissatisfied it’s like one step forward 10 steps back. The machine before this one, the recalled one was 100 times better than this poorly designed piece of crap.

i just got my DS2 from philips due to the recall. this thing is loud. i can hear every breath. the humidifier chamber was designed by a moron. now i see videos that are saying the foam in this device is the same that is in the A-series machines not sold in the us and the FDA is saying the foam is releasing huge amounts of VOCs. this thing is junk and again you are poisoning us with some crap foam that dosent even make the device silent! i took my DS1 apart and removed the foam completely and the machine is still silent. the new DS2 is junk and i will be looking for a different device
Dreamstation 2 is a piece of garbage. Did they set out to make it as inconvenient and finicky as possible? Who was the genius that decide you should have to disassemble half the unit just to put water in the reservoir? When the recall was announced, I remember thinking "well at least I get a nice, brand new machine out of this". Joke is on me again, I guess.
I set my min pressure to 6 and max to 16. Ramp+ is off, Flex is 1, using HT15 tube from my old Dreamstation 1. My Dreamstation 2 didn't go past 7.5 all night and i had 8.8 AHI ! My wife said i was snoring. Good mask fit. what is wrong?? Thank you!

I’ve had this piece of crap for a month now. It’s my ‘replacement’… my AHI has doubled and I’m exhausted and have headaches when I didn’t prior. What are you doing to do about it Phillips? This doesn’t have half the features my DS1 had!
I changed mask type to ResMed N20 Nasal and turned the tube size adjustment to OFF. To completely stop leaking I have to use a chin strap because of open mouth breathing. I never learned to like the chin strap but I use it because it gets the job done. The N20 Nasal Mask takes some getting use to but once you find the right adjustment to the straps your leaking problem should be gone. This stopped my leaking problem. it might be of help to you.
Hi Arizona. If you have not already done so, please register your affected device at to.philips/6054y4CkK. This will place your device on our repair/replacement list. We have initiated replacements in several markets and are preparing to initiate the repair and replacement programs in the majority of our markets by the end of September 2021
I love my my dreamstation too but the only disadvantage I have one I ordered my parts for my machine to catch up with my records when I got my new dreamstation to my insurance only pays for the water chamber but it does not pay for the lid and that is ridiculous the lid but I love my dreamstation too and it's easier carrying its lot smaller but they should be paying for the whole water chamber not I have a chamber where you put it in and there's no lid when when you get your supplies and I know it's new new train station to but they should have a lid for the water chamber to pay for when you get your when I finished for your water chamber I know it's cuz of the cost it it needs to be the whole chamber not just to watch him we're not just the lid it needs the whole thing for the insurance to pay thank you big k
Hello, thank you for reaching out to us. Some of the reasons that can cause a leak or a whistling sound not related to mask leak are: the therapy device air inlet may be obstructed, the tube is not fully connected or the humidifier seals are not fully seated or are missing. This is what to do in this case: 1) Check therapy device air inlet is not obstructed, and filters are free of debris and properly inserted. 2) Confirm that the device, humidifier water tank, and tube are connected properly and not leaking. 3) Confirm that the water tank lid seal is present and properly seated. We hope this will be helpful. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
Dream Station 1 recalled, Dream Station 2 under investigation by FDA for overheating and a list of other issues. The way the company handled the recall was abysmal. After almost 3 years l got my replacement for the Dream Station 1. This company is ether incompetent or just does not care. I am going to put my brand new Dream Station 2 in the closet and buy a ResMed 11. The only way l will use the DS2 is if l have no other choice.
Who else is have an issue with water evaporating after a few hours? My mask is tight so i have no leakage. Then after water is gone from tank i get this awful smell that im breathing which wakes me up at night!
Very disappointed. 1- Water chamber is a mess. The water runs out during the second night on SETTING ONE! You have to refill every night. The lid connections are very cheap snap on tabs. I doubt they last very long since you have to refill every night. On the original Dreamstation you could disconnect the tank to make it smaller and more packable for travel. You cannot on the Dreamstation 2. 2- Modem. You can't permanently disconnect the modem. Your only option is to re-enter airplane mode every 3 days. My insurance and provider do not require reporting so this is an invasion of privacy.
Really disappointed in dreamstation 2. The water chamber IS smaller than that on the recalled device. Literally getting less than 7 hours with this junk. I run out of water and I'm left choking on hot & stinky aluminum odor. At this point, I remove my mask and turn off the machine. Then I have to cover up the white circle button because it stays on while the machine is off. Already have my Dr working on getting a ResMed device. The Dreamstation 2 is a disaster.
Hello Cole. We appreciate you reaching out and sharing your concerns. We take this matter very seriously. To support you locally, please share your country of residence with us in a private message.
Hi Cole. We understand that any change to your therapy device can feel significant. If you are accustomed to using a DreamStation CPAP device and have received a new DreamStation 2 CPAP Advanced, this new device has also been set to comparable/equivalent prescription settings and is ready for use. The DreamStation 2 CPAP Advanced is designed to provide a simplified user experience, including a premium color touchscreen with fewer panes to navigate. Both the DreamStation CPAP and DreamStation CPAP Advanced include an identifiable Therapy ON button. Unlike the DreamStation CPAP device, the DreamStation 2 CPAP Advanced device features the Ramp Plus feature where a user can select a comfortable start pressure. Once set, the device will automatically start at the selected Ramp Plus pressure with all future therapy sessions. A patient no longer needs to tap a Ramp button every night to start at the desired pressure. This means you can set the Ramp Plus pressure once and there is no need to restart/activate it each night. Even Auto ON is enabled so that, all you have to do it is put your mask on and start breathing.

I must agree with many others here; the water carriage is PISS POOR! This couldn't possibly be a German design. This was either a rush job or a Chem/Mech Engineer who needs to be fired; the manager too. How did this POC ever get past the design department?? Why didn't you "professionals" just change the materials of construction to avoid the black flakes? Let me get this straight, In the last 10 years, you build a machine that is compromised by an ozonator and now you build/design a unit that challenges the mind! Is this a test for Dementia? This the worst thing since John Lennon allowed Yoko Ono into the Abbey Road sessions.

Thank you for writing exactly what I wanted to write. Very well said!
Ditto....
I could not agree more.. disgusting machine. Poorest design of 4 machines I've had.
From Bad to Worse
One step forward two steps back! I have the 1st. Dreamstation and to add distilled water I simply lift up on the hinged door to fill. This "New" design turns that into a 5 step process. 1. Push down on indent. 2. Pull water reservoir out. 3. Pull up on lid to remove completely (note there is no hinge). 4. Align back of lid into the tabs then snap lid back down. 5. Slide container back in so it snaps in place.
Seriously you guys should find some new product designers.
Dumbest engineering ever.
Yeah its alot smaller than the other dreamstation but quieter. I noticed if the tubing comes off the mask, the machine makes a little noise. It would be nice if it beeped.
I agree with you. This is ridiculously dumb engineering. What were they thinking?
Agreed!!!
I thought I was doing it wrong. I was like, there’s no way it’s this hard to refill the water. It really was just awful design!
Plug the power cord in the other way and push the wire into the side to side slot. That will hold the wire in place & solve your problem.
My husband has had so far about 4 or 5 cpap machines including this one, and this was the first recall.
This was recalled?
@@ymerojas
When, because his sleep supply place would have told us. This is the dreamstation 2. The dreamstation 1 got recalled. The white one. We had to give it back.
That humidifier tank should be criminal for how bad it is

I've had the DreamStation 2 CPAP machine for well over a year, I started having pain in my lower left side for the last 8 days. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the recall? Curious
@ Philips Healthcare:
Hello Philips. Why haven't you yet sent this new C-pap device in replacement of the recalled ones??? What's the wait??? Us, patients, are still using the faulty device with toxic, cancerogenic foam that can enter our lungs... :(
Hi Una. Could you please confirm your location in a private message, so we can look into offering more specific information? Thanks in advance.
Hello Una,
At this time, the company is working to address all affected devices within the scope of this correction as expeditiously as possible.
As long as it has constant power.
what is new for tecnology? i did not see any improvement

@@PhilipsHC I have. Thank you.

I also got mine to replace my old CPAP. So much smaller than the other one, so nice.
Sounds like Darth Vader with a wheeze. The humidifier is a bit more of a pain in the butt. Well... while it was working. mine no longer works or gives me options to adjust the humidification.
@@eddie3721 that's a great description of the sound! bummer about your humidifier. Hope you can get it fixed or replaced.

This one I got from recall sucks. I can’t get enough humidity. Stay dried out. At least my old one would flood me if I wanted it too
So... you have to REMOVE the tank to fill it? Same stupid mistake ResMed made with their S10... obviously designed by someone who doesn't actually have to USE a CPAP! More wasted space on my nightstand!

If you're not using the humidifier do you leave it on or detach it from the Dream Station?
I need to know too
You have to leave it on, otherwise the machine won't run. At least mine wouldn't.
@@janetstyron9338 Janet is RIGHT. Mucho thanks...:)

Okay so where do those filters go…
The DreamStation 2 is my first CPAP, and so far so good...but everytime I get a filter reminder, I hit the dismiss button and the reminder just stays on the screen. I change the filter if needed and the reminder is still there. I end up having to unplug and plug it back in to get to the main menus to use the machine. Any idea why this keeps happening? Surely there must be a better way to actually dismiss a reminder!

After turning the machine off, does it always have to be unplugged from the wall. My husband just received his new dreamstation 2 and just like the previous dream station we leave it plugged into the wall. I'm still trying to figure this one out. The settings because as I was told, once you push a button on it, it's set. And I cant go back and increase the heated tubing that my husband wants. Regarding dry mouth, how about keeping something in your mouth, like a XyliMelt oral disc? Doesn't that help the mouth stay shut?
If you are using a full face mask because of stuffy sinuses, keeping your mouth shut is a bad thing. If you are getting dry mouth from a nasal mask, then you need a chin strap to keep your mouth shut. The machine doesn't do any good if it is blowing in through your nose and out through your open mouth.
A humidifier helps to prevent dry mouth for people using a full face mask.
Is the menu always on? Mine won't turn off.
Hi Harry. Please feel free to reach via Facebook or Twitter with a video of your case so that we can examine this for you further. We will be awaiting for your message.
Here's the problem I'm having. My Dreamstation 2, and app don't match up on AHI. This morning for example, CPAP shows 4.3, app shows 1.8, not really helpful. I tend to side with the app because I have always had an AHI of around 2 on previous CPAP's.

And now I want my recalled machine back. At least with that one, I could adjust the humidity. With this one, somebody "disabled" it and now I can't. For the first few days I was able to do that, but then all of a sudden I get a big nope for any humidity adjustments. This makes sleeping with this machine almost as bad as not sleeping with one, I wake up every two to three hours to gulp down water as my mouth and throat are have less liquid on them than the Sahara Desert.

@@markmandel6738 lol no idea how that got there. Probably dozed off. You're gonna be ok. Trust me.

I have many complaints about this effing machine that I’ve had for two or three years. The filling up the water takes five steps instead of one. The water evaporates before I get up so it’s just blowing warm air that’s my biggest problem. Totally dissatisfied it’s like one step forward 10 steps back.

The N20 Nasal Mask takes some getting use to but once you find the right adjustment to the straps
your leaking problem should be gone. This stopped my leaking problem. it might be of help to you.

Why can i hear myself breathe? Its not a leaky mask
Hello, thank you for reaching out to us. Some of the reasons that can cause a leak or a whistling sound not related to mask leak are: the therapy device air inlet may be obstructed, the tube is not fully connected or the humidifier seals are not fully seated or are missing. This is what to do in this case:
1) Check therapy device air inlet is not obstructed, and filters are free of debris and properly inserted.
2) Confirm that the device, humidifier water tank, and tube are connected properly and not leaking.
3) Confirm that the water tank lid seal is present and properly seated.
We hope this will be helpful. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Dumbest machine
This has to be the absolute worst design ever. Just put a pillow over my face until I stop squirming instead!
