Just got my DS2 as a result of recall. Your video was "spot on" in helping me setup my new DS2 without using the phone app. Call me old fashion but I love old fashion button pushing. Cheers!
Just got my DS2, and really, the only gripe I have is the button light. Why on earth is the light illuminated all the time, unless the device is active. If my wife goes to bed before I do, the light fills the room with a blue glow. I shouldn't have to keep a piece of clothing sitting on top of the machine if I'm not sleeping. All they need to do is have the light time out after a few seconds... (or at least, have a setting that will allow you to configure this behavior)
Dude!! Thanks for this video. I just got a DS2 because of the recalls. When i started the machine it wouldn't go above 7.5. I was prescribed 15.0. After watching this...your explanation was fast and to the point and it worked. Thanks a million!!!
Reviews are very good and helpful. Just got the DS2 and results with it are better than with just the DS it replaced. However I suspect from what I found out that I was sold a used machine by the first provider I used. They let Medicare pay them and I had to purchase some of the extras which should have been included.🤣
Thanks for the video. i a veteran that part of the recall, first CPAP was great, i hand washed mine so i had no problems. the new dream CPAP machine is even better. quiet and very great in solving my breathing. I recommend and enjoy my new CPAP machine to the max.
Thank you! Your videos are always so very helpful. I have learned more from your videos than from medical professionals for the past five years. Had no clue about understanding ramp...did not really know I could look at my own statistics chart-wise. Did not even realize that I could change or re-set my own settings; was under the impression that only the professionals could do this. It is sad the lack of info the CPAP medical world hands you as you walk out into the world with your brand new baby...your CPAP! Thanks again for helping all of us fellow CPAPers. :)
Thank you so much. Just received my re-placement for the recall and the instruction's to change the air pressure was lacking and I didn't want to have to pay to get it set by my Doctor. So quick and easy now to change the setting after watching your instructions. Thanks again for the great video.
My replacement DS2 was delivered pre-programmed except the Flex Mode was off, as well as the AHI not visible. This video made it simple to turn those back on without having to contact my provider. The flex mode made a lot of difference in my comfort level and I would not have known what it was for except for this video. Thank you.
Thank you for this info. It's too bad the industry feels like they need to conceal this data from patients but I guess it allows them to make even more money by forcing us to pay our providers to give it to us. YOU are an angel.
I got my new dream station 2 advanced and this video was much better than the book I received with the machine. I tried to call Philips 4 times for the past 2 days with no luck (maybe they need indeed for more help) I purchased a resmed auto pap as soon as I got the recall and I like it much better, my insurance paid for it since my machine was recalled. A lady from Philips called me 2 months ago and I told her I didn't need a new 1 as I bought a resmed. She said they will ship it to me anyway so I can have a spare to travel with. I spent a good week fumbling around trying to figure this thing out and Thankfully I ran across Nicks video. Quite frankly I like the old Dream Station much better, not a big fan of fumbling around a tiny touch screen and the humidifier tank is poorly designed on the new 1. Than you Nick
My DS2 pressure suddenly increased drastically. Pressure was too high to wear it. I had disassembled and cleaned it that day. I took a look and found the rubber seal between the water tank and electronics sections was barely, and I mean barely, misaligned. It was very slightly pushed in a tiny bit too far. Reinstalling that rubber seal very gently fixed the high pressure issue.
Great video...just got a replacement DS2 (Phillips recall). Both Phillips and the DME would not help with settings. This did the trick in a couple of minutes!
Thanks a million for your video. I also got a DreamStation 2 on the recall and after watching most of the other videos I was going crazy because the settings were not available to me. Now I have my machine set up the way I want it. I'll go back and look at your other videos. Thanks again.
Thanks for the awesome video. Your explanation is spot on. Just got my DS2 due to the recall. The machine was sent with my old prescription settings. Thanks to your video I am now able to adjust the pressure to my current prescription.
Thanks for sharing all this helpful info. The DS1 used to work great until the recall halted the use of it. The DS2 replacement from the recall is good but menu is pretty limited. This video helps to get under the hood a bit. Cheers!
Got my ds2 a couple of weeks ago and I was wondering why I couldn’t get it to start by just breathing like the old ds1 did. I stumbled onto your video and was able to look through the menus. Thanks for the info. I have to say the new machine is much quieter than the one that was recalled
Brand new to CPAP after knowing I needed one for several years. Got this unit and your vids are helping me set the device to help me get used to things. Very helpful. I'm two nights in and got 5 hours and 6 hours on the unit and my AHI was 4 the second night so feeling good about it so far. Like the unit. Very easy to use, set, etc. Super quiet, can't believe how quiet it is.
Very Helpful and informative. Got my new machine and despite the fact the doctor instructions on my prescription clearly state to show me how to change the pressure I was told they were not allowed to show me the settings. Reason it is on my prescription is because as discussed with my doctor that he gave me a couple of choices for the pressure and to try it at the lower or higher setting and see if it would make a difference. I seem to find at different stress levels or time of year that the pressure does need to be changed. However my provider says can't show me how to change those settings which made no sense. So here I am at your channel and all the advice you provide is so helpful. Thanks.
Really appreciate info on how to access the controls my provider said I did not have access to. I got this one because of the recall on my old machine. I really like it better than the previous one. I agree the screen is a step backwards.
Thanks for the info. I received the Philips Dreamstation 2. I had no idea of the additional adjustments. I was disappointed with replacement for it didn't offer the many settings you spoke of; however, I was wrong. No instructions came for these adjustments. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your video. This is my 3rd. When it comes time to replacement, I'll most assuredly check your sites. I have been a very loyal Philips Respironics person. Wouldn't have had any other. However, your videos opened my eyes and as I am returning my 1 1/2 yr old Dreamstation wishing I could get them to repair, I no longer want this. I'm trying to type this so it will be entered on your site. All in all, perhaps, I'm not making good sentence structure, but I just want you to know how very helpful this video has been. I'm sending it to my e-mail, so I can review. thanks again, a 75 yr. old CPAP users. Have a super blessed day Barbara
Received a DS 2 for the replacement of DS1 yesterday. I needed to know how to get into some of the settings and, as usual, your video gave me the answers. I was in the middle of my insurance replacing the DS1 with hopefully an Airsense so I'm not sure that will happen now. Time will tell but if it arrives I know where I can find all the helpful videos that I'm looking for. Thanks Nicko.
I'm just getting started with this machine and I think this information is going to make a big difference. Thanks! I'll check out your Facebook group was well.
Hi Nick - Just got a Dreamstation2 today 10/30/21 to replace the Dreamstation1. I received no notice this was coming and it just showed up today. They tell me to send my DS1 back to them in same box. They provided the return label and even the tape needed to tape the box shut on the DS1. Hey that is pretty cool!! Oh BTW - this is a great helpful video now that I will set up a new DS2 without the evil foam. 😊👍
This is exactly what I was looking for. I registered my original DS for the recall in June. I received the DS2 about 4 weeks ago. I used it for a couple of weeks with the settings that were in it and then took it a local DME provider (I moved across the country after getting the original DS) This was the first DS2 that my local provider had seen. He made some adjustments and also arranged to order some supplies. With this information I can now tweak the settings. Thank you very much!
Great video, Nick, as usual! I really appreciate your videos (eg. foam removal on the remaster). I now have a brand new DS2, thanks to the recall (which, I agree, Philips handled like shit, knowing for years we were breathing in toxic gas and particles). I really think you foster a sense of ‘community’ for CPAP users, with straight forward, honest evaluations, mixed in with a wry mischievous sense of humor. Good on ya mate!
I recieved a SMS message from Phillips SRC to tell me they were sending a replacement for my series 60 Autoset. I was a bit sus that it might have been a hoax so I called the Phillips help line. They assured me it was genuine so I clicked the link and filled in the form asking me for a photo of my settings so they could program my machine for me. I then got a message telling me that I would be receiving a "Dreamstation" on Monday. I'm assuming it will be a DS2. It's a nice feeling to know that if I want to make any adjustments, I can just as I could with my old one. My first machine (purchased over 10 years ago) was faulty. I had to return it after a couple of days. The therapist removed the provider book from that first machine in front of me but she forgot to do it when she gave me the replacement machine. So I was able to get into my settings then. I have not been back to the sleep therapist since then. My apnea is well controlled. I resent having these people forcing themselves into my life (they have tried). Your video gives me the power to take control when my replacement machine arrives. Has anyone got any experience in Australia about what happens if you don't return the old machine? I hear this stuff about keeping it as evidence, but I'm not sure if that is over the top, or if it is even something one would be able to get away with here.
Luv this site but wondering why I would register my ResMed AirSense 10 as my sleep doctor already has all that in her system (via the internal card) and checks up on me every year. I assume this is a follow-up on my own to see if she is on top of all the stats? Thanks again for such great info. Good info. and fun too.
G'day Ron, glad you're enjoying the channel mate. There's a lot more info provided on www.sleephq.com compared with what the doctors get. Here's a good video which explains how it can be used to improve your therapy results - ua-cam.com/video/xfeYfoy-BS8/v-deo.html
I can't find your video that talks about MIN and MAX pressure in detail. I clicked in the upper right corner and several videos came up, couldn't find one that covers the pressure ranges.
I'm interested in the chart about mask type resistance you mentioned. I believe you said that it will be in the description box. Am I overlooking it? If the chart is not available..... My question is..... What would be an instance that choosing OFF would be the option to go with?
Awesome video ! May you please provide a link to your previous video where you talk about min and max air pressure optimization? I would like to try to lower my average air pressure to the lowest possible level. Thanks in advance !
Just a heads up- at 8:35 you said you would link a chart in the description of which mask type goes with what resistance setting and at 2:03 there’s no link to the video describing auto setup for beginners. Thanks for all the content though learned a lot about apnea and my machines!
They seem to have removed this. It’s mentioned in the manual that it should be there (If your home care provider has enabled the Automatic On feature, the device will automatically turn the airflow on when you put on your mask and breathe.) but none of the menus as of today (10/1/21) show it.
The DS2 is quieter than the DS1. But if you are an older person, it's impossible to pull out the water chamber, take off the top and pour in the water WITHOUT spilling. You can pour and splash while hitting the round part to the entrance, tilt the chamber slightly and it spills. Worst of all the bottom of the water tank is removable and if it lifts the water pours on the floor. Any recs on filling the chamber without disaster? Tired of wet floor, desk and sheets!
Thanks for the tutorial. I hate this new machine. The integrated humidifier is terrible and the touch screen is unresponsive. With this video I was able to adjust the settings g though so that helps.
I use a ResMed AirSense10 and it works great, with no problems. (it is a older unit tho) But I bought a brand new Phillips Dream Station 2 from a person from the local paper whose grampa died before he could use it. It is Brand New (not "like new") still in plastic wrap, and never opened. So I am starting from 0 setting it up. Thanks so much for the info. Now I can match the new one with the same pressure settings as my trusty old ResMed 10, in case I need a backup. Also, should I try registering it with Phillips for the warranty? It was originally purchased by someone else tho. Thanks for all the good info.
Excellent information! Just received mine a few weeks ago, and with severe lung function issues, not having these fine adjustments has made using my new machine pointless. Thank you!
I don't understand your explanation for EZ Start. The way I understand your explanation is is that this overrides the therapeutic values in Mode setting. Is this correct?
G'day mates If you use a ResMed AirSense 10 or 11 you can now register for a free www.sleephq.com account. It's super easy to upload, review and share your cpap therapy data. Ps: the phone app is great for monitoring; however, it does not have control features

I’m new to CPAP and your channel. You’re amazing and thank you.
Hi Eddie, great to hear it mate! Best wishes on your cpap journey
Good job! Covered things that I did not find in printed materials after a search online. Appreciate your time, mate!
Thanks for the info. New machine was delivered today. I see some possible problems with tiny tabs breaking on the tank lid.
Dude!! Thanks for this video. I just got a DS2 because of the recalls. When i started the machine it wouldn't go above 7.5. I was prescribed 15.0. After watching this...your explanation was fast and to the point and it worked. Thanks a million!!!
Your videos are a big help. This is my second cpap machine and I love the way you explain things that are new to me.

They wanted to charge me $750 to set my machine. 🤦🏼♀️ it’s ridiculous
Just got my DS2 due to recall today. You are my go to for how to set up! Thank you so much. I'm in Texas.
Legend mate, glad i was able to help. All the best from down under xo
Exactly the video I was looking for!! Thanks

Meaning they can't charge you if you do it yourself ...or they don't want ya mucking it up JS
Patient at my hospital are receiving their machine in the mail. Free from philips, thanks for the information….
Excellent . Thank you mate !
Just my recall replacement DS2..thank you for the set up!!
Now getting my dream station 2 due to the recall I love your video always breaking it down cause was confused on how to work this thing
You're most welcome Andrea, best wishes for the future
Excellent narration
Really appreciate info on how to access the controls my provider said I did not have access to. I got this one because of the recall on my old machine. I really like it better than the previous one. I agree the screen is a step backwards.
Awesome. Very helpful! Power to the people! 😁

Have the DS 2 for over aa year now and really like it.
Well Done!👍
I'm just getting started with this machine and I think this information is going to make a big difference. Thanks! I'll check out your Facebook group was well.
Good stuff!! Needed that , great information! I love the machine, just need to get the settings right.
Exactly what I needed thanks. my old Cpap was recalled so this is my new one and I know how I like my settings
Hi Nick - Just got a Dreamstation2 today 10/30/21 to replace the Dreamstation1. I received no notice this was coming and it just showed up today.

Very good and easy to understand, thank you. Now if I can just get my replacement
I hear this stuff about keeping it as evidence, but I'm not sure if that is over the top, or if it is even something one would be able to get away with here.
nice one mate, enjoy the upgrade
ARGH...my provider settings are NOT available. It is set for 8-20 and I have constant dry mouth from it.
THANK YOU!
God bless you man! 👏👏👏👏👏
Bravo! Well done, answered a lot of questions then some. Great! Thanks
Thanks John, glad you enjoyed it. Try and move to a different brand next time you upgrade. Nick
Hi Nick thank you for your information I was watching your video adjusting my new DS 2 I had just received Thank you again. 👍
Hi Chas, glad you enjoyed it mate. Cheers. Nicko
Great video, thanks. Cleared up a lot of questions.
Thanks mate. Appreciate the support. Nicko
Thank you 🙏
Welcome
4:03 pm in Florida! ? How to set auto off and on on the dream station 2. Thanks
Thank you for the video, just got the new on in exchange..thanks for the info.
Got this in the recall. Thanks for showing a way around the dream app for settings. Water tank 1/2 size as the other. Not good.
Excellent information, exactly what I needed. Thanks for sharing 👍
Very good info-thank you!
My machine does not allow me access to these menus
Mine too
Can’t find the Mask Type chart.
Nick are you going to show us the type chart?
Thanks very much for your tutorial it was very helpful 👍🏽
Hi Julio, you're welcome my friend. Best wishes for the future
How do you turn on auto On & Off? Also is there a way to dim the therapy button light?
Useful presentation.
Nice of you to say Helen, i'm glad you enjoyed it. Nick
How do I adjust the Auto on and Auto off feature? That was the only thing missing video and why I watched the wonderful video. Thanks!
Did u put a link to the mask type cart?
Many Thanks! You are the Best.
Thank you!!!!
Welcome Amy, best wishes mate. Nicko
Thank you thank you thank you.
I can't find your video that talks about MIN and MAX pressure in detail. I clicked in the upper right corner and several videos came up, couldn't find one that covers the pressure ranges.
thanks for this, it was very helpful
Where do I find what the x1 x2 x3 x4 and so on is for the nose pillow mask
Very good information!
I'm interested in the chart about mask type resistance you mentioned. I believe you said that it will be in the description box. Am I overlooking it? If the chart is not available..... My question is..... What would be an instance that choosing OFF would be the option to go with?
very helpful video thanks so much
So, EZ-Start is about starting CPAP therapy, rather than about starting up pressure for the present night???
Awesome video ! May you please provide a link to your previous video where you talk about min and max air pressure optimization? I would like to try to lower my average air pressure to the lowest possible level. Thanks in advance !
DROPPED FROM 16 TO 13 was originally 17.5 thanks for the clinical setting hack
Awesome mate :)
Hi guys, ResMed is trying to take down my channel. Here's a Facebook Group i started! Please join for support - facebook.com/groups/138127984943408 .
@@CPAPReviews why are they doing that

@SLR-hn5yy How did you go from 16 to 13 ? I am at 17.5 which is a little concerning
Just a heads up- at 8:35 you said you would link a chart in the description of which mask type goes with what resistance setting and at 2:03 there’s no link to the video describing auto setup for beginners. Thanks for all the content though learned a lot about apnea and my machines!
Great vid! Very helpful to me. Do you know if there's a way to turn off Ramp on the DS2? My old one did not have it, and I dislike it quite a bit.
Is there a way to transfer settings from my old machine to the new one?
Move the SD card from the old machine to the new machine.
Where is the setting for Automatic On and Automatic Off?
Trying to find out the same thing......
Same! I lost my auto start when I went camping this weekend. 😔
They seem to have removed this. It’s mentioned in the manual that it should be there (If your home care provider has enabled the Automatic On feature, the
device will automatically turn the airflow on when you put on your mask and breathe.) but none of the menus as of today (10/1/21) show it.
Just a couple of days ago, my DS2 started running at a constant 4cm, while it is still set to 10-20, ramp off.
Is the Dreamstation 2 available in Australia??
Thanks for the tutorial. I hate this new machine. The integrated humidifier is terrible and the touch screen is unresponsive. With this video I was able to adjust the settings g though so that helps.
Perfect video thanks mate
Nice one, cheers
@@CPAPReviews nice one?
Very helpful. Thanks
You're welcome mate
I would add that the option for the heating setting for heated tubes will not show unless the heated tube is plugged in.
Excellent information! Just received mine a few weeks ago, and with severe lung function issues, not having these fine adjustments has made using my new machine pointless.
Thank you!
Great information, but I have trouble setting up blue tooth to connect to Dream Mapper apps, please help. Thank you.
I don't understand your explanation for EZ Start. The way I understand your explanation is is that this overrides the therapeutic values in Mode setting. Is this correct?
Hi Deanna, this will help - www.documents.philips.com/assets/20210428/7007133af6a742abb29fad180126bed5.pdf
Can you use without humidifier?
Hi Brian, yes you can, you just need to turn off the heater plate (humidifier)
Ok thanks
Where's the chart for the different types of masks?
Hi, how do I turn the auto OFF feature, for when I take my mask off it stops the air flow by itself?
