    So I have had dreamstation 2 for just over a week. I got it as a replacement due to recall. After reading reviews I was ready to keep my original unit and take the chance of getting cancer.I have found this new unit to be very easy to use and clean. Smaller than the other one which is a plus. I find it very quiet with no breathing noises like others have complained about. It is very easy to clean. As long as you understand how to open and pull off covers nothing is going to break. Pouring water in it is very easy using a gallon jug weather it’s in unit or I pull it out which is simple. I take mine into the shower, I put a bit of liquid Dial soap into the tube, then push the shower button down on the tub so water just comes out of the tub faucet. Then I run water into the tube till almost filled. Then I plug both ends of the tube with thumbs and raise and lower the tube so it agitates the soapy water - then dump the water and rinse the water and let the tube drape over my soap dish in the shower so it dries. I do this once a week. And I wash out the nose piece daily with soap and water, Never had any problems. Been doing this for years. Voila!

    I am very concerned the tabs and hooks on the water chamber will break. It takes a lot of force to attach and remove them from the main unit. I also pity the elderly who will have difficulty doing this.

    Wash the tubing daily and allow it to air dry. Seriously? That's just plain stupid. There is no way the tubing will be air dried in a day.

    Considering you "Phillips" had six whole years to improve upon the Dreamstation 1, the maintenance on this design looks like a real pain in the 😠alls !

    Hi my lid seal will not come out of the water chamber. It is stuck on there. I am scared I will break it if I try harder to get it off there. I worry that I won't be able to put it back on. What do I do? I clean the water chamber the best I can.

      Hi there, thanks for your comment. :) We're sorry to hear that you've been having trouble removing the lid seal from the water chamber. We recommend not forcing it off, as there is indeed a chance that you might accidentally break the piece. Can you please share your country of residence? That way we can look into providing a possible solution, or forwarding you to our product team. Hope to hear from you soon!

    I cannot seem to get my tubing completely dry after washing. Any tips you could share?

    • @PhilipsHC
      @PhilipsHC  3 роки тому

      Hi Deirdre. Thank you for reaching out. :) Our suggestion would be to make sure that all the water is removed from the tubing and perhaps let it dry in a vertical position in a not too humid environment. You can leave it to dry for the entire night and day. We hope this helps!

      I simply plug it in and let air run it through for 1-2 hours after getting water out of the tube as much as I can. Water tank (without water) needs to be in place too.

      Hi DuWayne, we know how important it is to feel confident that you are cleaning your device properly.
      For detailed information about caring for your replacement device, please refer to the device's User Manual and Accessory Cleaning and Inspection Instructions. It is important that you use only the cleaning methods approved for your device, as unapproved cleaning methods such as ozone may contribute to foam degradation.
      Please also refer to the FDA safety communication issued on February 27, 2020 titled “Ozone and UV light: Potential Risks associated with the use of ozone and ultraviolet (UV) light for cleaning CPAP machines and accessories.” Continue reading below for a few key points stated in the article:
      • “Follow the CPAP manufacturer’s instructions and recommended cleaning and replacement guidelines for your CPAP machine and accessories. If you cannot find the owner’s manual or instructions, or have questions, contact the CPAP device or accessory manufacturer. You also can contact your health care provider with any questions.”
      • “Be aware that the FDA has not evaluated the safety and effectiveness of ozone gas or UV light products claiming to clean, sanitize or disinfect CPAP machines and accessories in the home or healthcare setting.”

    I had to order a new filter today and had to pay $10 for one of those little filters which have to be replaced too often. We need a filter that can be washed and cleaned. Also, the maintenance is a real chore, especially for the aged people who use these units. Very disappointed with this new "replacement".

    I cannot find printed cleaning instructions. The video says I can clean humidifier in dishwasher, but doesn't specify WHAT parts of the humidifier - tank, clear-ish plastic top, and/or dark, plastic lid. Can all three go in the DW occasionally?

      @@PhilipsHC I don't think this answer is at all helpful. I don't expect my health care provider to know about recommended cleaning procedures for every device they prescribe. I would expect the MANUFACTURER to give me this information. I couldn't find anything in my paperwork, nor in the pdf I found online, that addressed using a dishwasher for any of the three parts of the humidifier (tank, gasket-like seal, or lid), that is why I sought more information.

    What about the chamber from the tube to the humidifier where the air travels mines filthy but soap and water will damage the machine. Dream station 1 didn’t have this issue as the tube came strain from the humidifier.

    • @PhilipsHC
      @PhilipsHC  Рік тому

      Hi, Tanner. Thanks for sharing your question with us. It's okay to clean the tube chamber with a damp soapy cloth as long as you do not use harsh detergents, abrasive cleaners, or brushes to clean the system. Make sure the cloth is slightly damp and not draining, so you prevent any liquid from entering the device. We hope this answers your question. If there is anything else we can do for you, feel free to message us again.

      Hi, I've actually always washed my heating tube completely in water and my cleaning solution and then let it hang dry. I do this in the morning though so it has all day for the prongs to dry out completely. I've never had a problem with this.

    Hire more people to answer phones. To deliberately understaff is a denial of service which in this case is a threat to public health.

    bad design to go from a SEPARATE water chamber to integrated. NO ONE is going to change the water EVERY DAY, especially when the unit is difficult to disengage from the front unit.

    I have this through my Kaiser program which is a joke it's a racket. I can't get the damn tubing off the machine that's stuck on there in the one time I've been able to get anyone to Kaiser to answer the damn phone they tell people to pry tubing off machine with pliers and all kinds of stuff cuz you can't simply just put it on and put it off it's stuck on there I can't get it off I haven't been able to clean that like I'm up two months this is why people abandoned the CPAP programs cuz their shity equipment poorly staffed it's a joke and a racket to make money I really believe that.
