After my first date with my boyfriend, his best friend texted him asking “how’d it go dude” and my boyfriend replied “bro I think I’m in love.” I know this because he had saved the text convo and showed it to me months later. He still has those messages saved and we’re celebrating our 2 year anniversary in March. I also have two brothers and have been that bestie that they asked advice on girls or shared secrets with. Men are just as sentimental and cute as we are.

Your videos have me grinning and giggling and kicking my feet. And thank god for the continued ToG series slander, I was beginning to feel utterly alone in my distaste for them. When I attempted to read them they truly had me thinking "hey you know what, maybe reading isn't for me"

I love sarah j Maas’ books! But I also understand why people wouldn’t like them I hate how the fan base treats people who don’t share the same opinion as themselves it bothers me so much because these books aren’t for everyone!
i read this in high school, i remember asking my friend if anything crazy happened in this, and she was like no nothing big, only for me to read and find out that nehemia is killed lmao. also listen your main character can be the best assassin to have ever lived, she can also be the secret princess, but a fae too??? like come on, leave something for the rest. i remember also feeling so mad at the princess reveal, just because it's not something she finds out, like the fae thing, it's something she always knew and actively hid and repressed, and i just couldn't like what do you mean you lied to me?
Totally agree. The fae thing was cool enough she didn't have to be royalty 🙄
That’s something Sarah j Maas does a lot, her main characters know something that you don’t and it’s barely hinted at until the big reveal. In this own book I read by her (it was something about catwoman or whatnot) the whole time you read the characters inner thoughts and you all the other characters perspectives and then at the end there’s this massive fucking reveal, even though the characters inner monologue never mentions it and actually tells you something totally different. Like why are the characters lying to the reader too??? It’s so annoying.
I believe she also knew the fae thing all along, just wasn't sure how strong her fae side was

Was anyone else confused when Celaena said she was a virgin in this book? Because she says and does a lot of things in the first book that gave me the distinct impression that she wasn't. I guess with the timeline it makes sense, but it felt like a retcon to me.
I remember reading five books of this saga when I was in my early 20s and how much I didn't like Chaol and his stupid name that I never learned how to pronounce, but of all the things I hated of this saga, Nehemia's end was the one that hit me the hardest. I read the saga around a time where finding Black characters in popular books was extremely hard, so I was super happy for FINALLY finding a Black character that had an important role in the story (and an unspoken romantic relationship with the main character because yes, Nehemia and Celeana or what's her name, I don't care, had an extremely homoerotic friendship and I can confirm that as someone who has had a lot of homoerotic friendships) but then she was offed in the most traumatic way possible. I don't remember any of the things that happen after that scene because whenever I think about ToG and Sarah J. Maas, I think about how a Black character was awfully murdered to further the white character's development (and how weird that whole "mate" SJM has a kink with is).

I read the ACOTAR series and I’m waiting for the final book, anyways I think Sarah J Maas has good ideas and concepts with some strong characters but just can’t seem to keep it all together for the entire series. For example the main character ACOTAR is great in the first series, great book deserved the TikTok hype, but as the series went on this girl got so lenient and just did whatever her mate said….

I’m on book no. 5 (I was forced to read them all), and honestly at the middle of book 3 it gets super super good, then book 4 it’s also amazingly good, and book 5 is currently so boring (starts with a lot of exposition as book 2). Will continue to update if I remember lol

The thing I don’t understand about Celaena being so angry over Nehemia’s murder is that she knew Nehemia WANTED to die, like she literally set herself up to be killed on purpose as a way to push Celaena on the path to accepting her fae-identity and all that comes with that. It was more of an assisted suicide than genuine murder.

children of blood and bone is a good fantasy trilogy i believe, but also its taken the author like 4 years to write the third installment while there was only a year between the first and second book, might be because the series is actively being turned into a show or something idk, but yea children of blood and bone is cool

Nehemia is honestly a legend, Celaena risks everything to open a portal to speak to her dead bestie, is on the brink of an emotional and mental breakdown and all Nehemia has to say is how dumb she is for doing that and that she misses fleetfoot😭😭😂😂

I don’t think you’re a hater I first read books 1 and 2 when I was in 2015 ish and dropped it for a few years because they were boring. I finished the series when sjm got popular again a few years later and was surprised by how bad they were. I think the books are worthy of a lot of criticism (all of sjm’s books are, especially acotar)but I’m grateful that they are a gateway fantasy
