I was expecting Tookie to be the daughter of the Belladonna because there was that part at the beginning where her dad doubted his parentage. Was that meant to be a twist? Why give the interesting plot reveal to the side character? It also makes sense why Creamy didn't like Tookie because of all that resentment. Maybe it would've been explained if subsequent books happened. Maybe it's also not that serious.

I read the books, and i agree it's absolute nonsense where some stuff just isn't explained. But i just love America and maxon they are too cute, but why did he just overlook the nonsense? america was literally cheating on him. I absolutely loved this series

If you dont really understand how sextual oriantaion works and think of it is just a choice people get to make, yes, it does sound really unwise to diviate out of the traditional household structure and make your life harder than they already are, it does feel insulting when 2 people you considered as potential partners "choose" this much more dificult life, with each other, over being you. ignorance can be remedied and forgiven, but the true problem is that the fricking queen of this kingdom has reach a marriageable age without knowing as much as how sextual attraction works. It has incredibly sad implications of the state of gay's rights in this kingdom. It doesnt sound to me like the author herself actually thinks that being gay is a choice, which is good, she just made her character look incredibly ignorant in order to use her as a vehical for comantating on the unjust reality of same sex couple in the real world, but the unfortunate side effect of this choice is that we end up with an incredibly ignorant main character

I cannot believe that you didn’t talk about the monsters in the Diabolical Divide. The ones that are made of severed limbs and that steal the limbs of the people they kill to make themselves bigger. I know they’re not necessary for a plot recap, but it’s such a genuine horror moment in the middle of this batshit attempt at a YA novel.

I feel like there is a difference between semi-incest in the real world vs semi-incest in fiction. As long as you didnt grow up together in a familial reletionship, your familial support network is not at a risk from ending the relationship, and the genetical relation is not close enough to pose a risk to any future biological children you may want to have one day - whatever, consenting adults can make conseting adult choices, if they arent hurting anyone its not my place to judge. But if you are writing a book, you have complete control over the reality of those fictional characters, and you still go out of your way to confirm that they are biologicaly related, and you make them get involeved with each other romanticly - i just have to assume its a kink. Its sometimes hard to tell the difference between "this is moraliy wrong" and "this is giving me the ick", so its imporatant to remeber exactly why incest is wrong

ngl it doesn't feel racist to make characters pronounce words like we say them, because we literally use those spellings when people type words. like people use "boa" or "dayum" . It's directly mirroring reality. it isn't racist to aknowlegse we all all different.

The author of Harry Potter is the lovely and talented JK Rowling who has donated millions to help women in the middle east and has opened a crisis center for women who are victims of sexual abuse in just this past year! You should totally read about her because in a world where misogyny is rampant and elitist Westerners lack empathy it's nice to have on celebrity standing up for women at home and abroad!

In regards to sjm and periods, maybe don't read the acotar series, as apparently in book 4 there's a plot point where lady faeries get periods so bad it leads to the main girl deciding "yaknow what maybe i should just have a baby so i don't have to deal with this shit"

i used to be so obsessed with the selection series until i finished the crown and hated eadlyn and the ending so much that i never opened the series ever again

Prince Maxon is still better than Prince Ben in Descendants! This would've been a far better romance, if they took notes from Ever After, the best retelling of Cinderella! Their romance is so cute!
