Hi Ray and Tracy, I'm thinking about moving to Hu Hin in about a year or less. I'll be taking a 3 week vacation there in January to see if it's something that I really want to do. I'm a retired healthcare worker living in Sugarland Tx just outside of Houston and an Army veteran so financially I'll be ok with my social security as well kicking in this month. Samut Songkhram province is small province in Thailand , it is in Central region and west of Bangkok metro , it has the Amphawa Floating Market. Wat Khai Bang Kung
There is a malls, Big C. Lotus and Makro mall.
There is fishing, raising shrimp, crabs, fish, salt farming, coconut plantations, fruit orchards, palm tree plantations, and tourism.

Been driving my wife's car back and forth from Bangkok to Hua Hin....Been driving the motorcy aka scooter for 15 years...Love it!!

Hi Tracey and Ray. My wife and I are flying over from the UK next Tuesday. Its a reccy trip for 4 weeks to dip a toe and look into whether retiring to thailand is good for us.
As of now we are looking at 4 weeks in Hua hin. Can you recommend a place to rent for 4 weeks , preferably with a communal pool and small gym ? We will be keeping our eyes open for you guys and hopefully treat you guys to a smoothie lunch. Jeff and julie xx

Ray and I would most likely suggest to rent an Airbnb for 4 weeks.
I think a hotel would be too expensive..there are lots of condos here on Airbnb for short term rentals and I think that’s our best advice.
