I always do it myself. Never had an issue. Immigration here is so easy to deal with in Hua Hin. I don’t get all the trepidation from expats about this. It’s not complicated.
I think quite a few expats have no choice if they don’t have the required amount of money in their bank accounts or the money required to bring in each month. Agents are definitely required if that’s the case 🤷🏻♀️
But agree, it’s no problem doing it on your own if you do! 😉🫰💜

Really great that you show it is not too difficult to do your own extension. Nothing against those who use agents, but not very difficult to do without an agent.
I believe you will find Bangkok / Chiang Wattana extensions are very straight forward.

1. Is that a 1 year Retirement visa ?
2. 800k in Thai bank and lease required?
3.**Is that a Multi-Entry visa if you go out and back ?
4. *Do you have to stay for most of year in Thailand?
5. How do you go with Tax?
Do you need to pay tax on your foreign income if staying over 180 days?

Yes correct. It’s the Non Immigrant O Retirement Visa.
I have the 800k in my account and yes, you need a lease agreement.
We did not get the multi entry this time as we don’t go out.
It’s an extra 3800 baht though if you need it.
We stay all year because we have our dogs, but if we needed to leave for any reason we could apply for a single re entry permit at the airport before departure.
That costs 1000 baht we believe, but we have never done that ourselves.
We don’t pay any tax as we are already taxed in the states on Rays pension.
We are from one of the countries that does not Double Tax.

Did Raymond use proof of monthly income for the initial O visa application? I heard the US embassy is no longer certifying pensions (SS) and etc, how did he certify his pension since he didn't have a years worth of deposits for the initial visa, what was required for that? I'm thinking going this route instead of the deposit requirement..I enjoy watching both of you and your content, you two make a great couple..

We used an agent in Bangkok for our initial Non Immigrant O visa as it makes it so much easier.
I highly recommend going that route for that visa.

The immigration lady your referenced, did the same to me and I even had Biama with me to translate thai. I went 3 times, but the third time I brought her a box of chocolates and suddenly my paperwork was perfect. Next year I know to bring a treat for her. What is the name of the pretty cafe you recorded this at?

If you don’t mind, will you tell us what Dog-friendly condos did you pre-view? I am moving to Bangkok and want to bring my Yorkie but the mass transit doesn't allow pets from the research I have done. Is that true
If you google Pet Friendly Condos Bangkok you’ll find a slew of them! Also there are lots of Facebook groups in Bangkok you can join where you can find them! Small dogs are actually no problem there!

Have a question on your Visa Renewal. Requirements are to have Health Insurance to renew your Visa, what did you two provide since your Self Insured? Thanks
No, actually the Non Immigrant O Visa that you apply for here in Thailand does not require any proof of insurance.
It only applies when you apply in your home country for the “O A” Visa.

We have never used a visa agent here in Hua Hin, so we personally can’t recommend any. But we have “heard” that Anna on Soi 94 is good and a friend of ours works for her.
