Narratives are why I am a vault member I have really been missing these. Used to be 2 episodes a week with small breaks between shows. I honestly don't remember the last narrative campaign. I think it has been at least a year if not more. There may have been some of the big event style narrative campaigns where guests come. But there are almost too many battles to keep up with. I like the Deathwatch or Fate of Fayoom style.
I love these campaigns. Would love to see them do it where everyone has a different race of elites. Like Steve revive the Deffwatch and play orcs, Luka do Necrons, Dave do Chaos etc..

This was such a good episode, the combat system used kept me on my seat and super engaged. I used to be a member but I can't play tabletop anymore so I ended it, but i'll absolutely revisit membership to see this series out, keep it up.
Amazing. Signed right back up as a member, at the return of narrative (this and the Skari vs Matt game in one week. Oh, the joy). Very inspiring. We will absolutely be recreating this style of game at home. Can't wait for my dad's Deathwatch to board my Drukhari ships, or invade a hive ship (a la that very memorable campaign game where Steve's Necrons boarded a hive ship way back when)
Great campaign. I really liked the older thumbnails for Deathwatch campaigns, that were a bit more stylised and would show the enemy, like maybe an Eldar craftworld, but the content is great.
Finally a narrative campaign! I love the willingness to make rules different and to improvise on the fly! A little downside is that marines feel too little resilient
I was sort of thinking the same, but perhaps like any videogame, it has to be like that at first. But then... step up the Abhorants. Suddenly, the marines are not so resilient. SPLAT
I *FINALLY* got enough money to get a lifetime membership without having to worry about other life things. So happy to finally be able to help you guys! I love your narrative campaigns, Deathwatch one especially! Please keep doing the amazing work! "YOU CAN'T DIE! WE HAVE A FLAG!" almost made me spit my drink. Two Aberrants were bad enough, but three was too much (made worse by bad combat rolls, and then tactical errors) which cost three Space Marines dearly.
I forgot how much i missed these. Would LOVE to see a Horus Heresy Narrative campaign hosted by Dave. I feel their "Reactions" mechanic would work amazingly well
@miniwargaming Matt have you thought about a narrative campaign instead of Death watch but with Grey knights like the Chaos Gate game?? Like a new story line, not that i don't like Death watch they are in fact my favourite narrative campaign series made by you guys. But grey knights team might be interesting too.

I love seeing more narrative stuff, but not a huge fan of Deathwatch. Would have loved to see something new, but many seem to like them so... Fun game to watch nonetheless!
10th edition? It must have been a while since I’ve checked in with you guys. I think the last time you were introducing the new 8th edition. Melee seems to have changed a lot: seems like you can do unlimited damage if you are lucky.

Mixing 10th and 2nd... two of the worst editions of 40k... 2nd edition close combat was actually mechanically broken, where the better you were at fighting, the more likely you'd fumble and the worse you actually fought on the table. Back in the day Chaos Lords and Assassins, who could roll 12 dice sometimes, would choose to only roll four or five dice so they wouldn't crit themselves to death. I guess you folks were having fun and that's all that matters... The narrative action was next level insanely awesome, though. Kept me watching despite all the terrible rules. Very much looking forward to future episodes. Can't wait until you folks do narrative games in Ravaged Star which has really solid, straightforward, intuitive rules...

The melee system is great! Lots of tension in those fights.

Yeah, this is pulled from a completely different system (or maybe combining a couple?). Nothing like the actual current 10th edition melee rules.
