So many good points. I started down this fashion journey about a year ago. I’m 57 and retired and I had two types of clothes, grungy, beat up crap and business casual workwear. I started by buying very formal suits and trousers and a load of Eton shirts. But I never wear any of those purchases because I’m not going to wear a suit to the grocery store. It took me some time but I’ve zeroed in on my style which has taken a lot of inspiration from this channel. And these are clothes I can wear anywhere I go and still look very put together.

Thanks Will! that means a lot. I had a very similar journey when trying to find the right balance between casual and formal attire and it’s still something I have to consciously think about when buying clothes. Suits are always the more appealing to me but just not practical for everyday wear

@@LukeHodges, by the way…I didn’t know Reiss existed until I started watching this channel. In the last two weeks I’ve bought two thrifted Reiss chore coats, one cotton and gray and another made of linen and dark navy. Wonderful jackets and I paid a total of 50.00 US for both and both had the tags still on.

My biggest takeaway from this is the importance of dressing for yourself! Turning up well dressed is a statement of intent! Some people will definitely feel uncomfortable because you’re upping your game…that’s THEIR problem.

Luke I’m 43 and I’ve been getting dressed with intent since 1991. Had some hip hop years early on (I’m from the Bronx) and transitioned into a more IVY - and now as a post retired Army guy I’ve traveled and have many influences and inspirations - I’m somewhere between Alessandro Squarzi and Angel Ramos. All that said I enjoy your content and applaud your effort. Great stuff - simple and easy to digest while providing options and perspectives. Keep going brother

Great video Luke!! My biggest style change that’s upped my style to the point people have noticed and commented on it is nailing fit I’ve started getting items tailored and being more picky on the fit of my cloths

Hey boss! I am very inspired by your work, stumbled upon your product photography video and was wondering where you happened to get the backdrop as it looks pretty clean. Currently working on upgrading my pictures' quality as essentially it is what convinces people to buy. Keep up the great work!

Luke, I'm a big fan of your channel-keep up the great work. Could you please consider creating a video on belts, similar to your top 5 loafer video? (Which was fantastic, by the way-I now own a pair of Alden’s and B&W.) I'm interested in investing in a few quality belts but unsure where to begin, especially in the used market. Can you share insights on reliable brands, tips for distinguishing a quality belt, and where to look? This would be incredibly useful and much appreciated. Thx

Hi Luke, I really like you videos. To enhance the quality I suggest putting timestamps with the tips in the video :)

The prepping your outfits in advance is so important as I usually leave early for uni seminars. I tend to pre-plan like 2 days at a time what I'm going to be wearing.

I ride a classic Triumph motorcycle and I don't like anything that's there in the market. Makes me feel like I am getting ready to go on Mars with those gears. Can you please advise what can I wear on a motorcycle to look cool? Also I'll be riding only in Spring and summer so no leather jackets.
    Thanks

The bit about socks and belts is pretty much the same bit about sweaters and such from the first point. Some of your foibles aren't everyone's foibles, but I find it difficult to find quality stuff used much here that may be easier in UK and other places. No, I would NOT wear white trousers in winter much because they are out of season in aesthetic feel but also because they get all muddy, etc.

Tailoring is kind of the same point as proper fit again. So we're more like at ten points or I missed one? Yes, dressing more intentionally is what I tell younger people who aren't sure how exactly to shop or whatever.

Most will not be able financially to Start from Scratch and should not be discouraged if the process is more gradual: As long as they are buying intentionally moving forward, then it will only take a couple of seasons to evolve out the old look more completely.
