My wife bought me the permanent style/private whites Donegal overcoat in cream for Christmas. My initial, reaction was that it was a return, I just couldn’t imagine myself wearing this long slouchy coat in my daily life. But I wore it out a few times and it’s completely changed my style trajectory. I was pretty dedicated to the very simple stylish casual look. But now I’m very interested in that rumpled luxury look. The coat reeks of luxury but it’s also very quiet and can be worn with a t-shirt, jeans and some sneakers,(my favorite look so far. ) it’s crazy how a single clothing item can completely change your aesthetic…thanks for the great channel.
Hey man! I went to Anglo Italian on my trip to London and told them you sent me their way. I ended up getting 2 jackets, 2 shirts, 2 knits and a pair of high rise trouser. They fitted them and waiting on them now. Thanks for the recc and love the content all the way here in seattle!
Brilliant video again Luke.. would appreciate a “rebuilding your wardrobe” style video at some point as i am unsure as to what to prioritise with my budget and maybe some affordable high waisted jeans/trousers! Thanks
I hv alwys wanted 2 buy a nice chunky navy cardigan, and I did spot a similar product from an Indian brand few years ago, it had raglan sleeves n right kind of elesticity wherein the fabric wasnt very body hugging, just sat on shoulders in a very snug fit,bt wt I absolutely adored ws d brownish velvet elbow patch. Unfortunately, my size ws sold out n I nvr found my size..I was so gutted, such details just add a vintage charm. Also, i am wearing a bright coloured gilet vest ovr my sweaters/ jumpers these days, inspired by Brunello Cucinelli, a pop of colour 2 help stand out
Hey Luke, very pleased to pick up your JL shawl cardigan on at a decent price in the sales 😊 on a separate note, I've been after the Beckham coat in your thumbnail for time. Have you been able to source the designer? Thanks
Hey Luke, another great collection delivered effortlessly! I’m liking the nod to John Lewis, and in a similar space I’m seeing M&S delivering some great staples too.
So glad to see you back. GreAt content as always. I’ve been wanting a coat the style you’ve been keeping an eye out for . Permanent style has “ The English tweed overcoat “ that’s really caught my attention . Love the wrap belt aspect of it .
I layer a thin cardigan under a suit jacket with jeans and get a lot of compliments. I'm not sure if I would wear one under a standard formal suit. Have to depend on the suit and cardigan fabric, cut, colour, etc. Let us know if you do it :)
Thanks for producing the content Luke and hope you're well - I wonder what you think about Community Clothing, they produce some of the basics you mention in your videos so it would be interesting to hear your thoughts. Very worthwhile enterprise by Patrick Grant and their jackets in particular are worthy of attention I think.
Thanks Dan! I really like what CC are doing. Some of the styles/colours are maybe not what I would normally wear but the basics and jackets like you say are really nice and clean designs. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get a hands-on impression yet but I might need to change that
Also the flannel sport coat for me is a must, I've got four different ones that I wear every week currently, recently picked up a beige flannel from Morris Heritage.
I'm wearing some now just to test the longevity of two brands over the course of a month or two but I have plenty of sweaters already. And younger men can be hit-miss in charcoal suits but almost anything better than black.

blue or brown?
I genuinely think this channel is on the brink of going big.
Insight and tips are always excellent. Editing is great as well.
Hey Alex! thanks so much, 🤞🏻 you're right!

Legend! Sounds like you had a successful trip. Let me know how they are when you get them back from being altered
Recently purchased a pair of Cinnamon Suede Chukkas from Thursday Boot Co., just love 'em! The best $160 I've ever spent on boots! Awesome quality!
They sound 🔥
They are, @@LukeHodges! Great videos, BTW!

Thanks mate. It’s very been thinking about putting something like that together for a while now. Will try to soon!
Thanks for the great video Luke. Full of helpful choices.
Happy to help!
Really helpful that you give some advice on who makes a good product, sets you apart and as I said , helpful
spier & mackay has a solid chunky shawl cardigan
Great shout! Really like what they put out but we don’t get too much of it over here sadly
Good morning ..happy holidays..much success in 2024

Great material, thanks man!
Thanks mate!
Luke, I loved the outfit on the gentleman in the jeans, cream jumper and olive jacket. Do we know what jacket he is wearing?

Really well done! Subscribed!

Thanks Iain! Yes seen alot of good M&S basics too. Was thinking of giving their thermals a go this season

Thanks mate! Love that coat too, exactly the style i'm looking for
Really enjoyed cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it Paolo!
I'm loving the list you put out here. Of course, I'm a big sucker for suits and scarves. I'm curious, would you ever layer your cardigan under a suit?
Cheers Alex! I wouldn’t layer the one I have as it’s a bit chunky but a thinner version I might

The thermal layer is such a key wardrobe staple for me, the other day we had -26c
Also the flannel sport coat for me is a must, I've got four different ones that I wear every week currently, recently picked up a beige flannel from Morris Heritage.
A flannel sport coat is a great suggestion 🙌🏻
@@LukeHodges doesn't really matter what colour the sport coat is in, but a pair of grey flannel trousers will pretty much always work as a separate.
A big duffle coat is essential
David Beckham, China's top celebrity.
Hi Luke! Is that a Drake's cardingan you're wearing?
Hi mate, this one is from John Lewis, it's really well made and a fraction of the cost!
where did you get your shawl collar jumper you are wearing in video? Please advise
It’s from John Lewis
Many thanks! I subscribed based on your content. Continued success!@@LukeHodges
Thank you!
OMG my brain is cooked

Jeans don't hold heat AT ALL. I hardly ever wear them in winter and I'm in California.
I'm wearing some now just to test the longevity of two brands over the course of a month or two but I have plenty of sweaters already. And younger men can be hit-miss in charcoal suits but almost anything better than black.
Don't get me started on boots, but some the brands here I like may be less available in England or elsewhere.
I wouldn't wear white pants in winter, either, but I guess purple socks is holiday festive now?
I seldom get to wear heavy coats, either.
Are down jackets more PRACTICAL? They don't work in rain, right?
