i would not be surprised if DROCK in 20 years builds an awesome business because of the knowledge and information he is around everyday

+rebel code 20 years? I think it might be less than 5. :)

+rebel code I just think their is a side to Gary that he draws leaders to work with him. People like Drock could walk away at any point and "do their own thing". Gary is a true leader in that he develops leaders and then constantly checks their pulse and makes adjustments. The amount of talent at Vayner is incredible, and I think it stays there because the community at Vayner does not "work FOR Gary" they work WITH him, and that shift in perspective makes the culture amazing.

Honestly can't thank gary enough. I'm 15 years old and I have made nearly £100 in the last month making snapchat geofilters. In Daily Vee 25 the whole video was on the topic of filters and by the end I had signed up to several gfx websites. To many that doesn't sound like a lot to brag about but it's that fact that I have so many friends who hate their jobs and can't wait to leave. But for me, I can't wait to start. Thank you Gary!

5enr As I said, I signed up to several big graphic design websites. The one that worked best was a website called fiverr. I started of slowly with just 1 order in the first week. Now I am receiving a lot more orders. This week I have had at least 2 orders per day. It has taken patience but it is worth it in the long run.

It's so refreshing to see someone talking about workplace culture who isn't full of shit, believes it to their core, and backs it up by walking the walk. It's so crazy that the guy who actually gives a shit about his people is the in-your-face bravado freight-train personality that is GaryVee.

  • @Jav38r

I hope you get to read this Gary. You know, one of my goals has always been to have a business that at its core is to do good business. What I mean by that is truly care for people, pride on being ethical and do good. I thought I was the only one with this mentality because every "successful" person who gave me advice, told me that the only way to be successful was to do the opposite. That I had to do what I had to do to get ahead even if it meant someone loosing. I disagree and they told me "well, will see how far you get with that mentality" I didn't give a fuck and I continue doing business how I want to do business. Sure It's taking me longer than I would like but I rather have slow growth with my beliefs than growing fast with someone else beliefs. It's so refreshing to see that It is possible to build a truly successful business doing good business. Thank you Gary for giving me hope and inspiration to keep going even when the growth is slow. If you need people to work with you at VanerLA, please reach out to me. I would love to be part of your team/movement. You don't have to pay me, I generate my own income. Thank you once again, you have no idea how many lives your changing.

Great to see @garyvee and @davidrocknyc in L.A. Words to live by for leaders, "It's a leader's #1 job to deploy his or her religion to everyone under them." I would add, do it often because vision leaks.
You are modeling leading by example. So simple in concept but it takes discipline, commitment and hard work to doing the right thing. "Going above and beyond is the standard."

If you want to know what people think in Topeka Kansas... all you gotta do is ask. Lived in KS my whole life and my kids were actually born in Topeka! You are going down the right track for sure. What works in urban areas doesn't necessarily work in rural areas. It's stereotypical but rural KS is normally a few years behind urban for most cultural shifts. Kids maybe not so much but adults, 100%.

This may be the preworkout talking, but the emotions I felt from this episode were on another level. You've talked before about when you interview people you don't even listen to what that person is saying, you just "feel" the vibe of the room...that is what I got from the talk at the end of this. Watching your videos is part of my escapism and I can honestly say I've became a better human through the content you've put out. You like to talk about that "one fucker" who your content really impacts, well... Here we are. :) just really going to step my fucking game up as an entrepreneur and more importantly, as a person. Just selfishly like I feel like I "get" how you talk to clients and since I have volunteers under me at my church that I need to grow and encourage and push to the next level it's neat to see how your both aggressive on your personal mission as well as pushing them to accomplish theirs and how those really coexist and help each other.

I'm happy to see a topic like this addressed and "put out there" - not just for VM but in general. I had read on a site (glassdoor maybe) that one of the biggest beefs were the cliques and young professionals in-fighting at VM, or "drama" was the word as I recall. So, refreshing to see that the top guy says it won't be tolerated, and more importantly, is AWARE of it in the first place.

Culture is so important. Before I went out on my own, the company I worked for had terrible morale and culture. The management simply just didn't know how or didn't care about it at all. You'd walk in and just about every single person looked like they hated their job, everyone complained about every little detail. It really slows down the entire work-flow. People never responded to calls/emails or they didn't think things were important, etc. It's devastating to a company if they can't get it under control.

Gary! Crazy that this episode ended up on my Up Next video today. Ever since I originally watched it on May 5, 2016 "A great culture enables speed" - Gary Vaynerchuk has been written on the white board in my office (in the top right corner). Many people have come by and read it, not every response is the positive answer I'd like to hear, but at least it makes them think about their role in that statement. I believe in that quote 1,000% and I am (slowly) trying to make that our thesis. Thanks for providing the phrase that make my coworkers think. Keep putting out the fires.

I rarely post UA-cam comments, but this episode was my favorite and the story D-Rock told through the editing and music was phenomenal. Gary truly is a top notch human being.

Gary, I'm building a new team in the organization I work in. So many of the principles you discuss in this episode resonate with me and how I want to build the framework and environment for this team moving forward. The attitude and atmosphere of the team starts with me. Thanks for reaffirming!
