Introducing The GMRS Radio TalkPod A36+. A Ham-Solo Field Review.

I was able to contact TalkPod and get them to send me a radio for review. Thanks to TalkPod for sending me the radio free of charge so that I may field test it and see how it functions. I will show the parts included and then proceed with an Airband receive test followed by a GMRS transmit and receive test near the Denver Airport. Overall I think it has good receive audio and appears to transmit fine. I don't check for spurious emmissions because I kind of already expect that. Hope you enjoy.

The airband receive is very good, a properly tuned antenna for airband would make it awesome. Not a bad GMRS bargain radio. What was the radio you had sitting on the end of the table in the hotel room? Thanks for sharing. 73. KC3UEE/WRPD614

I didn't think GMRS radios had airband, very cool. Hope it can be unlocked to ham bands and have 8w for them.... and be clean.🤞🤠⁷³

Yeah I think some of the other UA-camrs had done some spurious emissions tests on it but I assume these Chinese Radios are all like that. Haven’t tried to unlock it but I think Talkpod is sending me the 8w version. Ham-Solo K0FYR
