    Great video man. I just got the RC 600 this week and this channel has been a game changer for learning the RC 600 quickly.

    I havn't used this device yet but it appears that the "upper tone" U are referring to is the original signal of the guitar mixed with the effect 50/50. so If U want an accurate comparison between the Octave/GTB and the "transpose" then try going further into the options for GTB +Octave effects, +turning the original signal 100% off and the effect 100% on, THEN make the comparison. It was still a very useful video as I had not thought about changing the speaker size when using any type of guitar to bass effects, that is a REALLY good idea, all those other tweaks should be useful as well.. Also if U ever do a follow up video on this, it would be interesting to hear the difference between the transpose by itself, played back+forth ("A-B"'-ed) between the transpose with all of the enhancements. Thanks for the video!

    the G2B effect default setting is 50:50 balance.. I suggest using 100.. that warbly sound goes away. I also turn volume down on the guitar a bit and add an LPF in the FX chain in front of the G2B.

      @@RossGallagherMusic I would appreciate you showing how you have your actual RC600 Set up to perform songs live eg:
      Verse 1 - pedal 1
      Chorus 1 - pedal 2
      Stop start etc etc
      There’s are so many different set ups on UA-cam. For a beginner like me - simple is best. Thank you 😃👍🏽🎤🎸

    I've managed to set up a bass sound quite nicely but what I'm really having trouble with is the ability to use my GA-FC to change my Katana 100 mk2 guitar FX without them changing the the looper output. I had no problem setting this up with individual pedals but can't work out how to do it through the bloody RC 600. In other words, I've just put my footswitcher back in the box and decided to just use the RC 600. I'm a SUPER noob at these things, sorry to be an idiot 🤦‍♂

    I take it you have a FX loop on the Katana, you could also do the bass FX on that, may be better than the RC. Personally I use Helix HX stomp in to the RC600 and the Guitar to bass patch I have made on that is so much better than the RC600, so much so that I have been accused of pre recoding the bass parts and miming to them. And your right, transpose then a pre amp is the way to go, I find some gentle compression before the transpose can help, and a little after the pre amp too. But this is a great vid on how to do it on the RC600. Nice work

    This is brilliant. Great setup for the baseline. Can I ask, do I have to set the preamp, transpose effects for each memory slot, or can it be saved globally?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  Рік тому +1

      Excellent! I'm glad to be of service, James. FX can't currently be saved globally, so you would be best having a template saved for your FX and then just copy that over to a new memory when you want to move them across. However, there is a fantastic piece of 3rd party software called the RC-600 Editor, which will certainly help you customise your RC-600 a lot more freely. Feel free to check this out and see if it comes in useful. Here's the link www.rc600editor.com/

    Great video. Iv subscribed! In the video you are using an SG, but what settings would you recommend for an acoustic?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  Рік тому

      Thanks for the sub! For an acoustic, I would probably be more inclined to just use an octave setting. What I tend to do now is run a G2B tone using the settings on my amp, and my amp has an acoustic channel which helps to achieve a better tone. If you just wanted to use the same method in the video but for an acoustic guitar, you're probably best playing around with the effect levels first, just to see if you can achieve a nice balance for the acoustic. Hope this helps. Ross

    Curious if the notes get glitchy? What I mean is play a chromatic scale starting at low E and run up the scale and at what note does the sound get warble perhaps it doesn’t? Thanks for video I’m still using my Headrush and pedals but would love to have less gear to worry about.

    Someone anyone please help me. I have had the rc600 for about 3 months. Still unlocking its powers. Everytime i try what this gtb effect here and record a riff the rc600 lags. to the point where the entire loop becomes unrecognizable. this is not the first time i've experienced this. it also happened when i tried to stack two types of delays together. delay plus a panning delay and same result. once i record a riff the playback sounds like shit. I have not upgraded the rc600 yet because im still learning and i've read that people say upgrading can mess this thing up even further... has anyone else experienced lag with this device? (i have not found any videos)

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  Рік тому +1

      Hi Jay, I haven't experienced this myself. I would suggest to update the firmware to the latest version and also complete a system reset. Remember to backup your Roland folder first though, to ensure you don't lose anything important. I would also make a note of your settings, assigns, FX etc, so that they can be setup again the same way, just in case. Let us know how you get on. Ross

    you've got the guitar tone in with the octave thats why its warbling the guitar needs to be muted out of the mix if possible
    if you can't. mute it . try a flat tone, reduce guitar volume. and increase the octave gain and lower the frequency
    can you Change the polarity that might fix the warbling or compress/limit then eq?
    it would be better to get an old octave pedal in my opinion or a bass guitar... to be authentic, as it sure sounds flaky and crap
    maybe get a electro-harmonix 95000 and fill it full of live drum loops is a good thing just as an experiment
    I'm really tempted by the sy 1000 from boss as loopers are ok but you really need to sound extra hifi good
    with the rc 600

      They're Mooer footswitch toppers and you can get them on Amazon fairly cheap. They're not bad but I'm sure there are much better options out there.

    Ross question for you. How are you connecting your Katana to the RC600.
    Are you using the record out, or the line out?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  10 місяців тому

      Great question! I actually use a 4 cable method and run my guitar into a tuner, then from the tuner into the front of the amp. Then using the FX loop on the back of the Katana, I use the 'send' to go into the 'inst in' on the RC, and then 'sub out 1' to the 'return' on the Katana. This means that you can change tone settings on the Katana without affecting the recorded loops on the RC-600. Some people run into the RC, then out to the front of the amp, but that doesn't make much sense, unless you plan on keeping the same guitar tone throughout. Hope this makes sense. If not, I am actually making a few videos this week on my rig, settings, connections and some simple EQ adjustments I've made, so stay tuned for those. Cheers, Ross

      Hello. Thank you for the information. I tried your method and it is excellent. I look forward to seeing your rig rundown. I also picked up a second Katana artist cheap and have become spoiled running the stereo expand feature of two Katanas. I also have been attempting to figure out how to maintain the stereo into the RC600 to my PA. Unfortunately BOSS really did not think about stereo outs. I attempted using your method for the Master Katana (IN - RInst to Sub Out R), then ran the stereo link out to the (IN - LInst to Sub out L) and it seems to work. Now I am attempting to get left and right separation to the PA out the Master outs of the of the RC600 to the PA. But I am getting what I think is some channel bleed over. Not sure what that's all about but will keep you posted. @@RossGallagherMusic

    Is it possible to setup a pedal so that it records and activates an effect patch at the same time? For example when I use guitar to bass I need to hit a button to turn on the G2B effect and then hit another button to record. Can this all be done with one button?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  2 роки тому +1

      Absolutely - you can use an assign to do this. Let's say you are wanting to activate the G2B effect when you record of Track 1...
      MENU>ASSIGN>Select an assign>Ensure it is turned on>change SOURCE to TRK 1 REC/DUB>change TARGET to whichever FX (A-D) your G2B effect is on. Hope this helps and let me know how you get in. Cheers, Ross

      I was able to set the assign to trigger the g2b effect. I hear the bass sound when playing but the loop playback does not have the bass sound. So I was able to use the assign to turn on the bass effect it just will not record. What am I doing wrong?
