Hello brother, i purchased this editor. And it very helpful! Thank you. My next wish is you make ipad version. Or do you know if there is a way to import file from the ipad to my rc 600 ?
Thanks, besides the shaky camera work your videos have been very helpful switching over from the Headrush Looperboard to the RC600.
can I record different tempo to loop?
My goodness. I must be getting old. I need a few cups of coffee to get through this. It's very informative. It just seems a bid overwhelming.
Can you use this with multiple players so that different instruments dont interfere each other while making loops? So if everyone are playing and one want to make a loop for single instrument. Then everyone can make a loop on their turn...
Gracias
I hope he shows how to change the circle light to blue in standby. Mine is a blinding white. And trying to program it. And learn it as a newbe. And the bright light in my eyes is killing me
Thank you so much for your tutorial and compliments. However, I would like to ask you for further information: Is there a way to ask the loop station to isolate an input signal during a loop? let me explain. let's say I connected my microphone and my guitar to the loop station. if I start a recording in which I'm playing and singing, at the end of the loop, the rc 600 will reproduce both the voice and the guitar. Here. Is there a way to set a track so that, even though I'm both playing and singing, the machine records for example only the microphone, excluding the guitar from the loop? Thanks a lot
were you able to program the MIDI Captain usinig the M1? Or did you have to go into "Supermode" and edit the text files to program it? I own the MIDI Captain and editing the functionality of the switches, changing the colors etc is cumbersome.
Is it possible to route vocals to one out put without fx, and another output with fx?
You've got some options here; FX are applied to each input e.g FX A (Reverb) to Mic 1 etc. Because of this, you then wouldn't be able to record using Input FX and then remove the FX afterwards. You could of course use Track FX which can be turned on/off and separated for each track and each output. You could also use 2 mics, 1 with FX and one without. Perhaps you could also use an XLR splitter so that you could run this with one mic, and then plug into both mic inputs, one for FX and one for a dry signal.
Do you sit or stand to play? I've been using them for a few weeks now and still getting lots of miss hits cause I stand to play and seem to come down on them from too directly on top rather than rolling my foot onto them like I would if I was sitting down. I'm sure I'll get used to them, but definitely an adjustment.
Great question; I do both, but my acoustic set is a lot more of a lounge feel, so I do tend to sit on my cajon and play more than I stand. However, when I do stand, I still haven't experienced any issues with these toppers. Is your RC-600 on the floor when you play? Mine is mounted on my pedalboard, which is raised slightly off the ground. Because the angle is slightly different when the RC is a little higher, this might help? Maybe other users can post here if they have experienced similar issues to you.
Thank you man, this was super helpful. I loop kick and snare drum with hitting the guitar strings like Ed Sheeran does and I was running into issues of it causing my amp to clip. Doing this and being able to split microphone loops and guitar loops into separate channels fixed the issue and I was super worried something was wrong with my amp or my RC600. Long story short you saved me a ton of money and headache so definitely worth a like and subscribe.
@coreytravisbean ahhh, top man! Glad it's helped you out, and I appreciate you checking out the channel and subscribing. I hope you find the other content useful too. Cheers, Ross
Hi Ross. what part of the UK are you based, hope gigs are going well. ? . got the Boss rc 505 (exact same brain as the 600), to a Bose mixer and system, Taylor 400 series and SM58 mic. Im setting up the looper with the mixer for the first time. I worked really hard to get the instruments perfect on the mixer initially. Question please - What would be the first setting to check on the looper to ensure it's EQ is "flat" (no setting) before sending to the mixer which has set EQ's. or do you think I am going about this the wrong way? thanks for any help .either way i got ya coffee. great vids.
i configured everything to go to separate channels for the separate mixer as in you video of "Send 6 INSTRUMENTS to 6 SEPARATE OUTPUTS via 6 INDIVIDUAL TRACKS"
Ahh, that's really kind of you man. I really do appreciate that, and I hope you're getting value from the content. I'm based up in the North West, originally from Manchester but I live in Warrington these days. How about yourself? Regards to your question, is there anyway for you to bypass the EQ on the Bose mixer, or perhaps run into a different speaker system to check things? The EQ coming out of the RC should be as flat as possible, provided you haven't changed anything, but it will also be determined by your EQ being flat from the source, I.e your Taylor, and anything else you have in your chain that could affect the overall tone.
@@RossGallagherMusic much appreciate it. gonna refine everything first (i did over simplify my side) and will hopefully get onto your ideas and do some sharing with ya.
Awesome, thanks for the update man... When I get around to it will defo use your link.
Super cool, Im using the synido pads for my drums.
Brilliantly put together 👌 well done & thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool video man, thanks for this. Really like the way these work.. will be interesting to see how you get on with them. Have they given any indication as to how long the adhesive should stick? Some are sensitive to temperature, losing adhesion if either too how or cold. Hope you’re well!
They've been on for a few months now, and I haven't had any issues whatsoever. I'm not too sure how long the adhesive will last, but if you get some and do have any issues, I'm sure Stadium-Music would be happy to help out if they can. Cheers, Ross
@ thanks for your feedback Ross 🙏

What is the point of having these on footswitches? It looks to be less precise than bare switch. The print quality... :/
For me, having a larger surface area was the main reason. Definitely worth the investment for anyone looking at adding quality toppers to their RC.
Interested in these pedal toppers? Check them out here www.stadium-music.com/ross They are definitely worth the investment, in my opinion!

Where did you get the track button covers? I’ve got no covers at all on my recently purchased RC-600 and the covers in this video look very functional.

Can't they make the display even more smaller, please to make sure that nobody can read it?!
👍
On the RC300 I only use the bass effect. When you press the effects button, the bass effect will then switch on immediately for recording on any track (very easy to quickly record a baseline). Is it possible to create this same scenario on the rc600 except assign 1 button for bass and maybe another for harmonies? My thoughts are to use "Track select" button for the bass effect and "undo/redo" button for harmony effect. Is this possible? Just to clarify, i want it so that pressing say, button 8 alone starts the effect immediately? I’m asking if I’d be able to activate it without needing to press and hold the FX button before hand. Hope that makes sense!
Hi! I have a question but I first want to thank you for all your videos on the RC600, they're absolutely invaluable! Just posting on a random video - I can't find anywhere to email you directly. I want my undo button to undo the last loop I've recorded whether or not the cursor is on that track. At the moment when I press undo it undoes whichever track the cursor is on but this isn't practical. On the RC300 the undo button just undid the last loop recorded. Is there a way to set the undo button on the RC600 to function in the same way? Thanks x
Thanks for checking out the videos and taking the time to comment. The Undo/Redo will only affect the last recorded overdubbing of the currently selected track, unfortunately. Depending on how you're using it, the Mark Set and Mark Back features might work better for you. Have you checked those out? Ross
@@RossGallagherMusic Hi Ross, not really. Do you have a video on this? Many thanks for replying so quickly!
I don't, but I'll definitely pop it on the list and get one out there. Think of it like the MARK SET will 'remember' the current status of your loops, then you're free to add as many changes and layers as you like. When you then press MARK BACK, it will revert back to the status you had when you pressed MARK SET. Does that make sense, and could that help you out? Ross
@@RossGallagherMusic Yes that makes sense. No, I don't think that's what I need. Is there a way to change the track cursor independently of the REC/DUB/PLAY switches?
@@rosegreenwoodmusic by cursor, so you just mean selecting the track?
Thanks for the explanation without the noise. Made it easy to focus on the activities within the lesson.
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful.
Hi Ross, I have another question. I want to assign a delay to an external expression pedal. The delay should be applied to all instruments (input) except for the vocal. All my instruments come in on Input 2 (stereo from an Xair18). But I cannot apply an effect to the L+R of input 2, only L or R...Any ideas? cheers!
Can you activate FX bank A and B at the same time? Or is it only possible to applay 4 FX at the same time?
Unfortunately, it's only possible to use one bank of FX at the moment. Perhaps Boss could look at adding multiple banks to a firmware update if that's possible. I know there are a few fellow users who would benefit from that.
Hi mate. G'day from Australia 🏄♂. Trying to use midipad2 to operate 'tap tempo' on my RC-600 (just to keep signatures in the right neighbourhood for my delays. Do everything live). Just can't get it going. Any thoughts? Cheers.
I've not tested it myself, but it may lie in the MIDI settings menu. You will probably need to change the Midi clock settings so that the internal clock isn't being used, and you can then control the tap tempo externally. Fingers crossed.
Thank you! Cool vid, easy explained...can I use the RC600 as a multi fx pedalboard in the fx loop of my amp and assign an effect to every footswitch (on/off)....for example fs1-delay,fs2-chorus,fs3-tremolo,fs4- etc?
Can't wait to see the upcoming M1 video! There's a real need for some video tutorials 😉
@chumbo completely agree! Hopefully I'll be able to fill that void soon.
$90 for 3d printed toppers? lol
Worth every penny! I'd feel lost without them now to be honest.
Ready now for my new unit to arrive. Thanks much!
Many thanks, John. I hope all goes well and you enjoy your new RC-600! If you haven't already joined, take a look at the Facebook group for fellow RC-600 users. There's a wealth of knowledge on there and plenty of amazing people to help you out along the way. Ross
Have you recorded an acoustic guitar through a mic for looping so it sounds like a real acoustic guitar?
Have you recorded an acoustic guitar through a mic for looping so it sounds like a real acoustic guitar?
I haven't done that myself, mainly because of the issues we all face when micing up an acoustic guitar. There are plenty of options to get a better tone from an acoustic these days, including quality pickup systems like the LR Baggs Anthem, or IR's you could add to your signal chain. It's difficult to get the true natural tone from your guitar, but you could certainly get a lot closer these days.
totally well thought out preset, will try this for sure
Excellent! Best of luck.
The Usb port on the 600 is it a USB A?
The RC-600 has a USB-B type port.
When i start a track, the track syncs to rhythm. But when i switch to next track, the second track is out of sync with rythm. All my tracks have sync switch on. Whether i am on immediate or measure sync mode, the track does not sync to rhythm after switching to second track. Any insights?
Hmm. Is it completely out of sync, or has it just synced to the next measure etc?
@@RossGallagherMusic its sounds like it has synced to next beat. The guitar rhythm on the track sounds messed up.
@@RossGallagherMusic i have set all tracks to immediate sync mode. i try to press the foot switch at the count 1 of 4/4 rhythm (just when the base of the drums hit). No matter how precise I am the tracks comes out messed up like half or one beat behind.
@@RossGallagherMusic shouldn't the track sync to nearest beat when i am in immediate sync mode and sync sw is on.
Is there a way to get a track sync to nearest beat instead of nearest measure?
Great tutorial. Very useful thank you.
You are welcome!
Very good en in depth review.. Thanks.. Regards

It would have been a much better demo if there presentation has some kind of order to it. It is just all over the place.
Thanks for the feedback. This was one of the first videos recorded on the channel, so there's been a lot to learn along the way.
I’m not a guitar player/performer, but very much interested in midi and technology. So, how does your ipad react to your midi messages? Great video!
Thanks for taking a look! My iPad has the Midimittr app installed which allows you to connect to devices wirelessly. A really useful app to have if you haven't already checked it out.
@ thanks, I will check his app!
Hey Ross - I hope all is well! I wondered if you knew if there was a way to control the Boss 600 with another controller (if you wanted to control it on the other side of the stage)? Couldn't find anything online about it - thanks a lot for all your helpful advice!
Absolutely! There are plenty of MIDI Devices out there capable of doing this wirelessly. You would need to invest in something like the CME Widi Master to stick into the back of the RC, so that wireless messages can be sent. Take a look at the Airstep by XSonic, or the one I'm currently using which is the Luminite Graviton M1 with the F10W footswitch. It's an incredible device and you could easily control various parameters within the RC from afar with this. Best of luck!
@@RossGallagherMusicthank you so much - this is so helpful to know!
@@georgepelhammusic no problem at all. I hope you find a device that works great for you!
It would be great if you can put synth sounds in rc 600. There has to be a folder in rc 600 where you can copy the synth sound file, like the existing drum sounds.
Thank you for a straight forward video! I hate these videos that go on and on about everything but what you are watching it for 😂 very informative, thank you!
@shaneparkermusic86 you're very welcome! Glad it's been useful.
Hi, I've got a question: I use microphone 1 and a specific reverb and delay as fx and have it all go through the headphone output (which my band uses for the full in ear mix). Is it possible to send out the fx without the dry signal to another output as well? I'm using a splitter before going into the Roland RC600 so the soundengineer has the dry vocal but I want to send him the applied fx so he can blend it in while still hearing the dry vocal through the headphone output.
@wiebertjeen a good workaround for this would be to use an internal FX loop in the RC. For example; run into Inst 1L and route this to designated tracks and to its own output for the dry signal e.g sub out 1L. Then use that output to send to the sound engineer. You could then run sub out 1R with the same signal, back in to Inst 1R, and route that to tracks and through the FX you wish to use. This is all assuming you have enough inputs and outputs available, but it could be worth looking into! Ross
Deffinitely the best tip and tutorial of the Boss Rc 600, unlike other self centered reviewers out there..Thank you❤❤❤❤
You are very welcome. Thank you for your kind words, and I'm glad it was helpful!
