@@Arzeeree I love Hoenn (I started with gen 3), but I consider generations 4 and 5 as enhanced versions of it. I mean, gen 3 games have good music, fun exploration and beautiful environments, but gen 4 (especially Platinum) kinda had the same elements but remixed for the DS. Except diving for gen 4, the DS games have pretty much all the things that made gen 3 so good. Nothing tops the regi trio quest in terms of exploration, though.
@@craftygui4762 same thoughts, my first game was emerald so I fell in love with it but its not my fave. Feels like there is something missing that the next gen games (especially the unova games) provided it for me. Hoenn games are still irreplacable in my heart nonetheless

For me, it's Gen 5. The town themes hit different, the battles are challenging, and with the fun dialogue and extra goodies the game is loaded with, it just feels like the devs had a lot of fun making these games the best they could be. I admire the hard work and passion that Unova oozes.

hold up, everybody likes gen 5 now? i remember a few years ago where everyone hated on it and would say it’s the worst game. it’s good to see that it’s getting the love it deserves now!
I feel like Unova was made for an older audience. When it first came the fans were probably more interested in how cool and strong the pokemon were. Unovas pokemon designs were debatably lack luster in comparison ( though some of my favorite designs are from BWBW2) and the starters themselves were actually pretty weak. (Personally I think you can kick ass if you know how to use em properly but yknow...). However as we grew older we became more invested in things like story and characters- having the starters and making the most of them was a fun challenge.. the game showed that it had depth. I love it so much lol

Most people always liked gen 5, it’s just that there were a couple of genwunners who constantly spammed on every gen 5 video complaining about Trubbish and Vanillish lines’ designs.
There was a lot of fanfare for gen 5 when it came out, from the fully animated battle animations to the camera rotating in Casetelia City.
Just look up “Pokémon Wonder Drug,” it was a huge meme that came out around that time, fans did one on probably every gen 5 Pokémon; there were so many. I used to spend hours just watching all the different versions of the meme.
There was definitely always a lot of love for gen 5, but you mostly only remember all the fistfighting from genwunners because really that annoying stuff is hard to forget. They were rampant.
Don't get me wrong, I still hate gen 5 pokemon for the most part, but the story is amazing and the region is a lot nicer the second time playing the game.
I still remember the days of people talking smack about the gen 5 games and honestly even if some of the pokemon in the unova region has questionable designs i would argue that it is one of if not the best pokemon games created

To this day I actually have problems seeing it as a Pokemon game. It was a really good game, but for the most part I keep forgetting that it was part of the Pokemon series - to me it was just a nice standalone RPG where you can battle with monsters.
Between Emerald’s Hoenn and B2W2 Unova, I think every player could find what he’s looking for.
I'd throw Platinum in the mix as well, but I agree. I think this video neglected Emerald hard

Black and black 2 are still my two of my favorite games, idk there’s just something about them that has hooked me from the start.
For me it's the story. N's ambition being pure-willed. The conflict between him and the protagonist brings forth a problem that doesn't have an easy answer. The plot twist with Ghetsis using N's ambitions as a front to conquer the world was an element of the story I did not see coming, and the music that accompanied the final battles sent a shiver down my spine. I'm personally most attached to gens 3 and 4, but gen 5 by far would leave the greatest impact on most people playing Pokemon for the first time.
androidgaming yes pokemon Black was my first game I could actually have fun with (fire red was my first but I was extremely young and dumb, lvl 100 charizard ayeee) and I was just captivated by the vibes the game gave off. The way the music tied into the story it just seemed like they really tried with that gen.

Fun fact, if you bring the shiny event legendary beast (literally any of the three, I used Suicune) to Lostlorn (aka, the forest you didn’t know about), you get to battle and catch a female Zoroark. Likewise, if you wanna start using a Zoroark earlier, you can bring an event celebi to the boy in Gamefreak headquarters in Castelia to get a free male Zorua.

I believe that Unova has the best music, and a lot of people might disagree, but listen to the Team Plasma battle win music. That is the music for merely beating a grunt. And it is amazing.

So excited for scarlet and violet, feels like they will finally make a good pokemon game that looks good, and has some good story.

I was introduced to pokemon through gen 3 and 4, but to be honest my favourite gen is gen 5, the music, the pokemons, the characters and the region itself are more than perfect and I'm glad that in the past few years more and more people give this gen the love it deserves

And linear game design is not a bad thing either.
I'm surprised they didn't mention the easiest games and the most challenging games for Nuzlockes.

mop plop more like impossible. You literally can’t enter Fuchsia City gym without having 50 different Pokémon.
I agreed with almost all of these expect for Shiny Hunting something I would say I get the most out of my games. Let’s Go overworld sparkles are great but they become more of an annoyance especially when sky encounters are added in the post game, as most of the time you just have to sit there. I would say HGSS and B2W2 are easily the best due to the wide range of legendaries, gift Pokémon, and amazing hunts. For example double grass and game corner are incredible to go back to each time. If you enjoy Method Hunting more I’d say the best are probably ORAS, Dex Nav, Fish Chaining, Hoards, and so many huntable Legends. With all of these if you are determined enough the shiny charm is there if you want it. Those are just my experienced two cents.

I would say Gen 6. That game had the BEST shiny method, the radar chain. I love how they had a way to implement skill and reward into shiny hunting. It was hard to use and master but when you do master it, it is very rewarding

Saber Hg as a full odds hunter I would say I’m totally biased to 1/8192 but for a Method Hunter Gen 6 as a whole is easily systematically the best
gen 7 had some good shiny methods to and legendaries? you can actually get all legendary pokemon with usum alone

I agree with the Unova love. I think it and gen 4 games feel like the most complete games. Galar looks nice, but it felt like a facade. It didn’t take long for me to ask “oh, is that it?” Routes were short, cities smaller than they appear, battles over quickly. But the buildings do look great. And as soon as they played the gym leader battle music, I was like “well that’s not fair. That music is great!!”
*cries in Hoenn trumpets* Glad Sword and Shield got a lot of well-deserved love though.
If you wanna hear the epicness of the gen 5 music, all you gotta do is listen to "Gen 5 music hits real hard" and "Gen 5 music hits really hard".
I know Kalos is not very popular, but it has been my favorite ever since release. The beauty of the region, the amazing soundtrack, the changes to the type chart, Mega Evolutions and the absurd diversity of wild Pokémon (there are 7 available Pokémon in the initial route whereas some regions only have 2) completely sold it to me.

They dont really do something more unique than the other ones, other than beauty contest. They're credited with creating the battle frontier and involving legendaries into the story though, but all the other content can be found in other games

my overall favorite is definitely gen 5. it has been that way since the first time i played the game. mainly due to the fact they felt refreshing. and i love how the pokedex dont have pokemon from previous gen while still contains over 100 new pokemons to catch

Bruh, I still can't believe that Gen 5 wasn't received well initially. It is unanimously believed to be Pokemon's peak, but that was because it was the first region to try something completely new, which is a huge undertaking and a large risk.
B/W was my most fave story.
X/Y was my fave for doing pokemon egg.
Platinum has my fave Pokedex.
Pokémon Sword and Shield have my favorite region and legendary pokemons
Pokémon X and Y have my favorite region, legendary pokemon and gimmicks (mega evolutions).
Pokémon Black and White have my favorite favorite story and rival characters
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Platinum also have my favorite region, legendary pokemon and my favorite champion.

Black and white 2 easily, only ones that even come close to challenging Black and white 2 are the gen 2 remakes and Platinum.
I would also say that Pokémon conquest is the best spinoff game. With a close second in the Pokémon Colosseum series and then the mystery dungeon series.

Black 2 & White 2 have the most amount of content I've experienced in a pokemon game.
There's a lot of features unique to Gen 5 that I wish were included and improved upon in future gens. From catching N's released pokemon, Easy/Challenge Mode, Seasons, Pokemon World Tournament, dating trainers at the Nimbasa Ferris Wheel, and so much more.

When your gym battles soundtrack beats almost every other soundtrack from most of the games (barring a handful) you know you've got a good one.
Gen 5 is my favorite generation and I see it is mentioned a lot for being th e bed Tina. Lot of aspects and I agree. I wish we could get the story quality of Black and White in the future games. Also due to living in Northern Jersey near the NY border it feels like home
I think for me, the best games are Sword and shield are the best for me because I love collecting Pokémon and filling the dex. But I love all the regions and games I’ve played (Shield, Let’s Go Eevee, Ultra Sun / Moon, Omega Ruby, X)

No offense, but I'd predict the reason why you say shield is your favorite pokemon game is only because you haven't played gen 4 or 5.
DrCalamari I’ve played gen 5, but from what I’ve seen, gen 4 is slow, has too many HMs, and has a forgettable soundtrack, with only a few exeptions. Now compare that to USUM, my favorite games, because they really only have one main flaw, being the cutscenes, but the music, Pokémon designs, region, difficulty, postgame, story and characters all outweighs that one negative.

I'm usually very adamant about gen 4 games (including the remakes) being the ideal pokemon games, but I think this video gave me more appreciation for the later games.
I love this! It's true what you say, every Pokemon game has it's strengths and weaknesses, and which Pokemon game is best totally depends on what you value in a game. For me, the two main things I most value in Pokemon are the story, the characters, and the vibes.
I absolutely love Sun & Moon, because it has an exciting and engaging story, great characters (I adore Team Skull), and the whole tropical island feel was perfect.
I also love Sword & Shield, and used to get really upset when people hated on it. I think out of all the Pokemon games I played so far, that one is the best at capturing the feeling of being a Pokemon trainer aiming to become a champion. You really feel like you're some kind of sports player rising in popularity are competing in big championships. Plus like you said it has some great towns, and not to mention it also has some amazing characters (I litteraly went through a whole rollercoaster of emotions with Bede. At first I just found him slightly annoying and satisfying to beat, then after he upset Hop I really hated him and took great joy in beating him, but by the end of the game after seeing him complete his arc I was actually really happy for him)
X & Y is also one I enjoy. Although I find the story and the characters to be a bit lacking, the vibes in that game are SO GOOD. There are so many memorable areas in that game! Also the X & Y anime was amazing so it gets some bonus points from me just for that
I played Black & White a long time ago and I can't really remember much about it, but I'm planning on playing it again soon and based on what I do remember about the game I think it has a very good chance of because my new favorite Pokemon game
Less than 10 seconds on shiny hunting surprised me, allow me to redress the balance. Let's Go is indeed the most accessible traditional game however Pokemon Go has regular events releasing or boosting the odds of particular shiny Pokemon providing a varied, if unchallenging experience. Honerable mentions also go to USUM and ORAS. USUM has a reliable SOS mechanic making hunting a specific Pokemon much easier than random encounters, incredible wormhole odds and a large selection of available legendary and ultra beasts to shiny hunt. ORAS also boasts a large cast of huntable legendary Pokemon as well as DexNav and chain fishing methods to boost your odds. Shoutouts to the Johto games and B2W2 for having guaranteed shiny Pokemon with the red Gyarados in the former and Haxorus in the latter with an additional Gible in Black 2 and Dratini in White 2. Whether these count under shiny hunting is debatable but they at least deserve the mention.
If however you are a full-odds purist then you already know what you like, specifically gens 1-5 since all have uniquely interesting and challenging hunts and have a 1/8192 chance as opposed to later games sporting a 1/4096 shiny rate.
Wasn’t the wild Pokémon encounter rate lowered starting in Gen 6 though

The newer areas in galar (mainly the crown tundra) is big and I get lost pretty easily in some of the areas in the crown tundra postgame and a new town freezington and many more in the postgame and this alone makes galar the best region in Pokémon.

and the rest all fall under the same category of the mechanics are dated but the games are still really fun

i loved this video so much. My first Pokémon game was Blue in 1999. Since then, I love the Pokémon world, although I dind't play every game (only the game boy games, the first DS games, and now Scarlet/Violet). I don't play competitively, I just enjoy Pokémons, and I love the histories, the characters, to train my team and the feel of taking care of them. My heart is always with Fire/Red and Soulsilver for the nostalgia, but I think my favourites are Black/White and Black/White 2. Scarlet/Violet, despite the graphic issuesm is definetly one of my favourites now, I enjoyed so much surprisingly.
For me its gen 3 since that is my game and thought every pokemon was in gen 3. For me it is the best.
So from what I seen gen 5/7 has the most stuff but gen 1/3 has the least lol 😂

I actually argue that the best shiny hunting experience is both XY and ORAS in terms of variety of hunting methods and challenge.
I’m glad x and y were mentioned more than once. I feel like not many people like x and y because it’s really easy but x and y has lots of stuff to do and lots of places to go which makes up for how easy it is ( or I feel like it does)
Yup 👍, but in my opinion, Pokémon X and Y is just decent. But the music 🎶 of Pokémon X and Y are actually great 😊. I have Played Pokémon X and Y for 5 years since 2016 and I love 💕 hearing 👂 couriway town’s music 🎶, so relaxing 😌.
