My neighbor had a clean Metro for sale last summer. If my commute wasn’t 4 miles I totally would have done the same thing as you. Merry Christmas Kyle and family.
I had a big block automatic hatch back metro like your red one. It would get almost 40 mph. It's pretty flat where I live though. It was super reliable too. Leg room in the rear is unbelievable for such a small car.
Love your Geo Metro Videos. One mod I've heard Metro guys do is to remove the Wiper arms, if it rains slap on the driver side for a day. It must reduce wind drag and you get better milage for no cost. Thanks for your geo content, Mike from Nebraska.
I've heard about the wiper one too. Seems like there wouldn't be a huge payoff but I may try it for summer. I think a air dam up front might help for the same reasons.
I own a Lowrider as my fun car. And just got a Chevy metro as my daily driver. We are a little similar, my daily commute to work and back is 65 miles. This geo metro I have got 40 mpg, I replaced the o2 sensors and spark plugs and ignition coil now I’m getting 47. It’s awesome. Not to mention the insurance is half the price as my old “beater car” My old beater car was a 95 Volvo 940 it was 21mpg. So I’m saving a ton of money to play with my dream car
i love a good metro!!!! had a cream puff of a ‘94 in high school. prices are up at least here in indiana for a good example of a metro that doesn’t have rust issues on the front t frame horns. i’d love to see some “how to get better mpg mods” for a metro!
I drive 90 miles a day for work and been debating to buy this exact type of geo metro. After doing the math as well it’s a no brainer. I drive a v6 truck that gets around 20 mpg. So assuming the geo metro gets around 45 mpg I’d save 200$ a month from gas and 2400 dollars a year. Much appreciated for the video and help opening my eyes.
Also you can drive Uber during your commute, knew a dude that drove from San Jose to sf, and would Uber people to SFO. Got paid and got to use the commuter lane
I have my mums 1995 Suzuki Swift HB 4cyl 1.3 sohc 5pd ABS 208,xxxkm her name is Smudge! She's purple and fun to drive. Want to get a turbo for it ! And future to put SR20DET in her! She's my run around not a beater though! I get 37-39 mpg city 40-43mpg hwy!
@@FortuneOffRoad the ultimate is the 89-94 Metro xfi it had a slightly modified engine that produced even less hp and no creature comforts. Amazing though Metros are still pretty plentiful considering the age of the cars.
I had a chevy sprint with a 3 cyl, they only made it for 2-3 years, got 45-50 mpg and I wish I never sent it to the junkyard. that was 20 years ago.
Yeah! They seem to last a long time and get great mpgs with very little mods

Yeah if mine was 4 miles I would drive the Samurai!

Yeah other than the power and looks these cars do surprisingly well in a lot of areas. Plenty of head room too!

Don't forget to duck tape the gaps between panels to decrease air drag and increase aerodynamics.
That's on the list!

I just did spark plugs and wires on mine but mpg looks the same. I should try thr o2 sensors.

Right on, I've been doing sim reading on other mods!

I love driving the metro. With the mods I've made and mindful driving, I'm hovering around 50mpg!
Just need to find a 2001 Chevy metro with the g13bb 16v. Chuck that motor in the samurai and BAM! More power AND it will get 30 mpg! 😁😁😁
My Samurai does great on the trail. I'm the only that seems to get through the Rubicon without refueling
ive been looking at one of those, i hate putting the miles on my renegade and the commute from the east bay to sac is eating up a ton of gas
Same here. Mileage is biggest factor is resale value for my nice truck too. It really helps out not going through tires too

Very cool. Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas to you too! ❄️👍🏻

I think the newest plates I've seen so far has 9DD____ serial numbers on them.
Just ordered a custom plate for the metro 🤘🏻
@@FortuneOffRoad personalized and/or special design?
@@SayAhh personalized!
I drive a company vehicle for work. Should be banking the savings for my Tacoma.
That's best-scenario there! And you're probably doing it in comfort too
I have an aux, but it is a Grand Caravan.
155s are so skinny I went to 175 7013s as it has better stopping power and handles better. Don't think it effected the mpg.
That's what I just switched from better driving fornsure, but less MPG than these 🤓
automatic sucks up a lot of fuel
It sure does!
You can easily get more gas mileage with that 3 cylinder
Oh yeah, I definitely am
