I lived in Lincoln from 1960 until 1971 (aged 11 until 22). I didn't enjoy it but it looked nothing like it does now. Looks a great place now and, of course you can't move for history!! Great video, thanks!
My home town❤ I really enjoyed this, I haven’t been back there - or even to the UK - for 4 years (the year after you were there) and it made me very nostalgic. Thank you!
As a couple of Aussies with fond memories of our previous canal adventures in the UK, and plans for return in the making, we have delved back into all your vlogs since day one and are now up to date. Enjoyed them all and look forward to your next edition. Been a little CHILLY over your way lately so hope your keepin your plums warm. Cheers Mate!
Robbielad! ANOTHER fun, brilliant outing! LOVE your video shots, as always, and the drone footage was great, too. I'm really enjoying the way you weave everything together in telling your stories - a great sense of fun and humour. Looking forward to the next installment... J.
Thank you John, glad you appreciate that - took me about a month to edit and work out the order of all the shots etc so it’s great to know that gets noticed! Cheers! 8^)
great vid rob, probably the best vlogger regarding narrowboat life on UA-cam, from the editing to the music, to the genuinly funny banter. its easy to relate to even if you don't have a boat..not many vloggers recognise their viewers like you do. Cranken it through the glory hole!
Beautifully filmed and edited vlog! Stunning. I loved that Jasmin was so concerned about the state of the toilets! Thank you for another hugely entertaining vlog
Welcome ye to the hole of glory. Don’t forget to check out the description for details on music/drones/how to support the channel Oh and check out the end of the vid to see my Valiant haul and check out some extra gear reviews and footage from the next video 8^)
A good time as always watching your vlog. I really enjoyed seeing that you got Jasmine quite relaxed, yeah we'll go with relaxed, in all the pubs you visited. It looks like you had quite a good tome in Lincoln over the winter. Looking forward to the next one.
Great Vlog Robbie, full of facts and information, loved the pub review, even tho I just might be 30 years to late for some of them. Love all your history bits as well. Keep them coming once you get back on the water.
Great video. I stayed with a friend in Alford in Lincolnshire recently and passed the coal merchant you used. I did plan to visit Lincoln but decided to wait and go in the summer because it was freezing. Thanks for confirming the pub was dog friendly, that’s a great help for me. Looking forward to your next episode on Boston. Thanks.
Thanks! Yes I thought of you when adding that Sylvia! Most pubs in Lincoln seem to be dog friendly which is good. Just returning from Boston now, the wash not inspiring at this time of year, would also be much better in Summer I think.
I have to admit that I'm seriously jealous of your pubs in the UK. American bars just don't have soul. You got Jasmine good and pissed didn't you? I love when you guys get together. Great video as always. Thanks!
I enjoyed lincoln and your month video awesome, Born in Nottingham we went to lincoln right up until I went to new Zealand, good show Robbie john in New zealand.. all good me duck.
I have driven by Lincoln many times on the way to race at Cadwell Park but never actually been there. It looks like I missed out. Great vlog Robbie. I take it then that crossing the Wash was not practical which was just as well as that sounded like a recipe for disaster. Take care mate.
Good to see you out of hibernation, and selling yourself for sanitary products. We love Lincoln too, but prefer it in the warmer months. As for cleaning your stove glass, the waste product from the stove works really well, but if its free then why not. Looking forward to the next episode.
Cheers Darran - not sure about hibernation just not enough time or electricity to film/edit that’s all! The waste product from the stove? Are you sure?! I burn coal which is just fine dust - or do you mix it with water?
Not tried the method myself as my stove has a steel door (no glass), but from watching the other channels that is the preferred method by mixing with water and using newspaper. loads of ways on here .
Yeah no I’ve realied it was a stupid idea, it’s winter so not everything is open, had snowstorms while I was there and then had to get back to Lincoln. Also my boat is far too slow to really enjoy the journey.
I can't believe that Sugarcubes nightclub is still going!! The floors were always sticky and you could guarantee there were sick in the toilets 🤢 Apparently there used to be another night club behind the Odeon on Newland (now the Addaction place) which I've been told is where sweat would drip off the ceiling in to drinks... nice. Oh and if you're still in the area, you might like eating at Browns Pie Shop near the Magna Carta pub... yummy!!!
We go there regularly, as we like Lincoln, but it's change so much , where the pub called the shed is now , was a sort of a shed bar , & it used to flood alot , & guys would go in there with their wellies on lol , when dad got his first boat , my mum would'nt watch it going in , as she said it bad luck to watch your boat going in lol .
Hi Robbie. So glad you enjoyed Lincoln. I was born in that beautiful City. I lived there for almost 50 years before moving to Oz. Your video made me homesick :'(
Ah I’m sorry - hopefully brought back good memories though! Would have loved to have known what the pool was like before all those new buildings were added.
Hi Robbie. It was my wife CEAL who commented about being from Lincoln. Brayford Pool was a very place when I was younger. My Dad worked in one of the old places that dealt in marine engines. I can't say that I like it as it is now. We visited in 2016 - the first time back in 10 years. Might be able to catch up with you as we're moving back to England as soon as our house sells.
Always a fantastic watch, Keep it coming! I can tell I'm watching you canal bashers too much as when all the snow came last couple of weeks, I've been waiting for vlogs to see how you guys get through it. :)
Just 'discovered' you Robbie, having been a narrowboat blogger for nine years (NB Areandare). Sound like you're just a few days behind us. We were in Lincoln and Boston for a few weeks - iced in on the Witham in fact! Hope you get up the 'Stump' - we'll look out for your Vlog of the experience - and the Windmill, open only Wednesday and Saturday (sadly we didn't synch with those days). Hope to meet you one day - we're heading up to the Leeds Liverpool - in Doncaster currently ;-)
Depends on a wide range of variables. In this case, it’s winter, I need power, I need to be close to facilities and shops and public transport due to work being especially busy at this time of year. But in summer perhaps when it’s less busy I would seek out a shady area in the middle of nowhere, but usually I like to be near enough to civilization that I can lead a normal-ish life
Ha ha yeah that was funny. After I said ‘lookin hard’ I added ‘well you don’t have to try’ but that didn’t go down well (they thought I was being cheeky but I think they were just bored and wanted a fight)!! Now let me guess who’s commenting... Theo?! Thanks for watching anyway!! 8^)
Hey Robbie, would I be able to use your music as background music in my live streams? All I do is play video games for one or two people. If you don't want me to, I understand.
Your welcome. I'll tell you one thing it's a great series for folks wanting to live on a boat. Every season and problem you have covered which should help them well done.
Ah cheers Matt, yeah all dogs look the same to me (is that racist?!) but I loved coming back to the visitor moorings each day just for the mad greeting those two gave me! 8^)
Peter for goodness sake read the description man! No sadly not mate it belongs to an am photographer pal of mine, Matt (he’s operating it in the intro bit)
Thanks Emma! I know I saw in your vlog ha ha! Maybe you can do something else - cool cut cafes?! Or whatever! People will expect it on every video mind so pick something you like!! 8^)
Yo, I got a mention. I'm famous now! Pronounced "wotmo" , it's the bane of my life. It is of medieval origin, was mostly found in Yorkshire, although I am from Madchester/Cheshire. Great video, Robbie! I feel like I've just been on a Saturday night out with you guys. :) p.s. porta pottis FTW! I don't use those usual toilet chemicals though as they usually contain formaldehyde but I use bio laundry liquid, it works fine.
Yes! Cheers Ben Ha ha! Yep, I’m not a huge fan of surnames as you can imagine but we all have our crosses to bear! I’ve just heard about an incerating toilet that only leaves ash which sounds amazing but I’ll wager costs a pretty penny/rinses your batteries. I use that green liquid stuff but not sure how ‘green’ it is
Sounds sh*t hot! Hmm, I've just looked the Incinertoilet up and someone commented that it uses 1900 watts. My inverter is only 2000 so it wouldn't cope. I heard the composting toilets are okay but expecting it to turn into actual compost is not feasible (waiting and storage of waste on a boat). Apparently it becomes safe enough to dispose of anywhere and without the use of any chemicals. I have been tempted by the green stuff, they sell it on my local coal boats (Halsall and Alton). Anything is better than that blue stuff, it knocks me sick.
Very nice vlog as usual Robbie. You & Jasmin make a great double act and your joint PoTW research effort was very amusing! Great natural chemistry. More please!!! :)
It’s one of my favourite cities now. But £60 soon adds up when you’re effectively on minimum wage... Was great to see how the other half live for a while though!! 8^)
Wow I was starting to get worried about you & then I saw you was with that Jasmine girl & that just summed it up... lol... People calm down I sub to her to. Robbie knows I'm joking. Right? Oh asking Robbie to verify me is like Robbie doing his own clothes... ahahahahahah.. How that was funny... I'm just glad your ok & it's nice to have a friend to go with you to find a pub of 2 months... lol... Oh I ment pub of the week.. Glad you got you some lazy coal delivery to your boat. I think that's what you said or maybe I heard that wrong, but I know I'm picking on you I'm sorry, but you made it easy this month.. lol... I love ya Robbie, & I'm sorry I'll try to be better next video. Not to pick to hard, Your friend from Missouri, Chris
The glory hole!!! Ah when old men name things. I worked for a horticulturist that created an azalea. He named it "golden shower"... Because it was yellow... Had no idea why it was funny... Yup.
Well to be honest no - and in fact I am really struggling with finances at the mo - but I thought at least if I set some sort of goal that would be nice for supporters and force me to push the boat out even further so to speak!
It isn’t obvious so not to worry. Patreon will only let me set goals ‘per video log’ as that is how my patrons support me, they send from $1 to $10 per video, and I thought ‘right, well surely if I’m at $300 a video I should be able to put that towards a special trip somewhere’.
Nice to see our old band, The SlimlIne Papas, playing at the Tap and Spile at 13.25ish.
Thank you!
I never realised what a fab city Lincoln is; thankyou!
Robbie mate, you are a true martyr to the cause of the pub of the week. a totally commendable feature. all in the name of research.
I thank you Darren. You’re absolutely correct - meticulous research which demands to be carried out under the strictest conditions 8^)
As a couple of Aussies with fond memories of our previous canal adventures in the UK, and plans for return in the making, we have delved back into all your vlogs since day one and are now up to date. Thank you yel plums are thawing out as we speak!! 8^D
Outstanding !! ... Thanks for the walk around in local night life !!
Ha ha you’re welcome!

It's all amazing! And the wait has been WORTH it! Please keep 'em coming! J.
Fantastic vid, Robbie, and great drone shot! Lincoln looks incredible. You and Jasmin are a cool pub warrior team! Thanks!
Thanks Esther!! 8^)

Beautifully filmed and edited vlog! Stunning. I loved that Jasmin was so concerned about the state of the toilets! Thank you for another hugely entertaining vlog
Thank you Mandy so glad you like it! 8^)
yea I do not remember why ! i feel like this may be due to creative editing but i dont really remember.....
Welcome ye to the hole of glory.

Now I want to go to Lincoln! Great vlog as usual, thank you
Love your chilled out vibe and the great drone shots.
A good time as always watching your vlog. I really enjoyed seeing that you got Jasmine quite relaxed, yeah we'll go with relaxed, in all the pubs you visited. It looks like you had quite a good tome in Lincoln over the winter. Looking forward to the next one.

Fantastic! Superb camera work and brilliant editing. One of your best videos yet. (this is number 48 from the beginning)
Lockdown viewing of this one and imagine my delight on hearing Mr Frank Turner playing on the jukebox.....excellent taste in music
Great video, as usual, Robbie. Lincoln looks amazing. Might have to head down there next year sometme.
Cheers Al yeah it’s really interesting. I didn’t film it (yet) but it’s got a guillotine lock as well.
Great video. I stayed with a friend in Alford in Lincolnshire recently and passed the coal merchant you used. I did plan to visit Lincoln but decided to wait and go in the summer because it was freezing. Thanks for confirming the pub was dog friendly, that’s a great help for me. Great to buddy boat / drink with a friend nice to see more of the life off board at these towns.
I have to admit that I'm seriously jealous of your pubs in the UK. American bars just don't have soul. You got Jasmine good and pissed didn't you? I love when you guys get together. Great video as always. Thanks!

Yep absolutely would’ve been stupid espically with all the snow and wind just not fun - cheers for watching! 8^)

Robbie where did you see the Egyptian doorway in Lincoln.
It was in Boston 👀
@@RobbieCumming ok thanks your video was very helpful as we have been to a few of the places in it.
Glad to hear!
Any more thoughts about crossing the Wash to the River Nene as you are so close?
Yeah no I’ve realied it was a stupid idea, it’s winter so not everything is open, had snowstorms while I was there and then had to get back to Lincoln. Also my boat is far too slow to really enjoy the journey.
Not the best time of year for a crossing thats for sure. Enjoying your VLOG btw!

Oh yes! Browns pie shop! Great shout. Only place I’ve not been pretty much (apart from addaction)! 8^)
Come to Cambridge, lots of pubs here and plenty of nutters :) I'm moored up at fen ditton. Watch out for the rowers though!

Great fun as usual Robbie! Very comprehensive PoTW :)

The drone shots was brilliant Robbie. Takes the video to the next level. Great video again buddy 😁
Thanks Tom!! 8^)

Nice bit of drone work in this episode!
God I miss pubs. Great vid Robbie!
Thanks Nick 8^) they miss you!

Robbie Cumming - Saving us from mediocre TV.
Ha ha thanks Keith!! 8^)
Top notch Robbie! Great video, ah yes the glory, glory hole.
Thanks Chris!! #crankitcrew 8^)
Brilliant!
Question for you!
How do you choose you mooring what criteria do you use when choosing your mooring?
Depends on a wide range of variables. In this case, it’s winter, I need power, I need to be close to facilities and shops and public transport due to work being especially busy at this time of year. But in summer perhaps when it’s less busy I would seek out a shady area in the middle of nowhere, but usually I like to be near enough to civilization that I can lead a normal-ish life
Fantastic vlog, always really well done.
+10 for production.
Thanks very much 8^)
Hi there JASMIN and ROBBIE ,I am from LINCOLN and now live in SHROPSHIRE ,hope to be able to make a narrow boat trip later this year , to Lincoln

Did your self a camera drone ?
Brilliant vlog! That shot with the bouncers had me creasing 😂
Robbie Cumming haha! Spot on 😉
I love this blog!!!!!!!!
Jasmine looks to be a fantastic party animal and huge fun.
' A little bit too shabby on the chic ' great quote Robbie 😂
how much would it cost to change over too the cinderella system?
Brilliant as always 🤓
Hey Robbie, would I be able to use your music as background music in my live streams? All I do is play video games for one or two people. If you don't want me to, I understand.
Hi Declan, of course - you might possibly get a UA-cam strike as they are all copyrighted but as far as I'm concerned it's up to you go for it!!
@@RobbieCumming Okay, thanks a lot, Robbie! Have a great day
That was some piss up! 🤣
Watched Michael Ball and Alfie Boe in concert in the grounds of Lincoln castle last summer 😀 lovely place...
Great vid will be trying Lincoln possibly next year. Looks interesting but the industrial look new buildings are so dull!
Wow awesome.
Thanks Patty! 8^)
Your welcome. I'll tell you one thing it's a great series for folks wanting to live on a boat. Every season and problem you have covered which should help them well done.
Fabulous 👍🏼👌🏼😍😊🤩
Haha, atmosphere looks atmospheric!!
Totally worth it just for the end clip tasters .... Thought that was Jono's Molly for a second!
Ah cheers Matt, yeah all dogs look the same to me (is that racist?!) but I loved coming back to the visitor moorings each day just for the mad greeting those two gave me! 8^)
Mmmmmm.......got yourself a new drone Robbie?......nice, what type if I may ask?
Peter for goodness sake read the description man! No sadly not mate it belongs to an am photographer pal of mine, Matt (he’s operating it in the intro bit)
The glory hole? Sounds ominous! 😂😂
Ps, I'm watching your pub crawl while I'm in the pub! Good Times! 🍻
Darryl you legend 8^)
Robbie Cumming if you ever go down the river nene, and come to northampton you'll have to let me know, and I'll show you a few pubs there
Oh yes please - I’ve only been to the Old House and the Fiddler’s on Welly rd
Robbie Cumming mate, there's so much more to explore, and alot of real ale pubs
The church tower in Boston (final shot) is called the Boston Stump and can be seen from far distances across the fens.
hi - thanks for this, looks like a great place
I guess this is before you had a series on BBC?
Yep!
Love it. I live in Lincoln California.
Ha ha I bet that’s different! Cool - thanks for watching! 8^)
Wish we had your Lincoln's nightlife.
Some pretty impressive editing - I think someone else mentioned you turning pro?!
Ha ha thanks! 8^)
another great video. we have the same phone case love it. on my channel my mum wont let me do pub of the week because I am only 10 lol !!!!
Thanks Emma! I know I saw in your vlog ha ha! Maybe you can do something else - cool cut cafes?! Or whatever! People will expect it on every video mind so pick something you like!! 8^)
We've voted and reckon you and Lorna should team up... :)
Just came here to watch the pubs
Never been to Lincoln, what a beautiful place.
My home town...but I live in Wolverhampton at the moment, actually I think I saw you recently in my area 🤔
brilliant vlog Robbie 😀 Will "Pub Toilet of the Week" be a new, regular feature from now on? 😀 And have you got a drone now too?
Ha ha yes would you like to help me with that one?!! No drone for me unfortunately - read the description for details!
Well, how can I refuse an invite like that?! 😀 Sorry for being one of those thickos who didn't read the description for the drone info!
Yes -10pts for that I’m afraid 😂

Yeah man do it - it is more expensive but perhaps crucially it doesn’t erode the rubber seals as blue does (or so I’m told).
Very nice vlog as usual Robbie. You & Jasmin make a great double act and your joint PoTW research effort was very amusing! Great natural chemistry. More please!!! :)
Nice vlog again robbie 🖒
If you come to Hamburg just gave me a quick shout. Like to meet up for a Beer or two...
Awesome that would be great, remind me in September if you can! 8^)
Hehe, will do so.
Glory hole lol, thanks for the vlog Robbie. Jasmin hope you did not get a hangover !
my mate lost the top off his boat going through there lol, the bridge was there berore the millenium , the statue is a waste of money
Wasn't aware that Lincoln was totally Blitzed during the war!!
Great vlog bet Jas had a sore head lol
You’ll see in her next vlog it was me who came off worse!! Too old for this sh*t!!
I love Lincoln Robbie and not bad 60 quid a week in marina.
It’s one of my favourite cities now. But £60 soon adds up when you’re effectively on minimum wage... Was great to see how the other half live for a while though!! 8^)
Someone that tags along on a 2 month bar crawl can truly be classed as a real friend
Never fails to surprise me who you find at the other side of a hole.
Wilko's has also been there since the 11th century
You know it's going to be a good video when you're less than half way through and the hosts are absolutely twatted.
strugglers by far the best pub in lincoln
Wow I was starting to get worried about you & then I saw you was with that Jasmine girl & that just summed it up... lol...

The glory hole!!! Ah when old men name things. I worked for a horticulturist that created an azalea. He named it "golden shower"... Because it was yellow... Had no idea why it was funny... Yup.
Wow ha ha ha!!!
hello robbie,
how does the patreon work,
$278 of $300 per A video log?
will $300 per video pay for you to go on a trip to Belgium?
