    Brooke I have a question, if I find a product that I think would be good for my skin but it has ONE ingredient that feeds fungal acne, is it not a big deal that there’s only one bad ingredient? It is one bad ingredient enough to mean I should steer clear of it?

    Love your videos! I’m looking into fungal acne sunscreens is the supergoop daily moisterizer spf 40 fungal acne safe?

      Mariah xx thanks babe! No- unfortunately the only supergoop product I know to be safe for Fungal Acne is the daily correct CC cream- it has an SPF 30 in it, but I do think you should use it with another sunscreen still!
      I am still using and loving my Paula’s Choice Resist SPF 50 daily. Here’s a link to my sunscreen video + some product links that are for safe products. People also comment on that video their FA safe recommendations, so feel free to check all of that out & see if any of it works for you!

    Hello Brooke. Thanks a lot for this. I wanted to ask if I could still go on using those "triggering" ingredients when I see the fungal acne is gone? Or will being cautious be a permanent situation for me? Because there are so very few good products that are fungal acne safe.

    • @Brookesbeautybazaar
      @Brookesbeautybazaar  4 роки тому +1

      Great question! It's fully up to you. I have heard plenty of stories from people who cleared it up & then moved back into their old products with no issue. Sometimes, fungal acne seems to be a one off for people. At the same time, there are a lot of people who will struggle with it long term & would want to avoid their trigger ingredients long term as well! I have personally found that it's better to avoid. I plan to start re-introducing stuff a little at a time in the future- but I haven't started to yet! Long story short- once you're cleared up for a while, you can try reintroducing & if it doesn't go well- revert to the fully safe stuff!

    Hey brook I love your videos,, just came across your channel Randomly and I guess this is a sign for me to change my whole skin care thanks to you❤️❤️!!! But I was wondering if the cerave hydrating face cleanser good or bad as it contains Glycerin and the products glyceryl stearate and polysorbate 20 are considered esters do you think these might have an impact and make the fungal acne even worse??

    • @Brookesbeautybazaar
      @Brookesbeautybazaar  4 роки тому +1

      I do think those will cause you problems. I do use glycerin, but I actively avoid any esters! As you go about your journey be cautious. A lot of times people will buy all same brand products just because one or two in their line are 'fungal acne safe'- and most times that isn't the case!

    Hi Brooke, hope you are well. Have you tried Biossance Squalane with Vitamin C Rose oil? Checked sezia and simple skincare science approve it. I haven't heard anyone with FA use it for feedback. Thanks.

    • @Brookesbeautybazaar
      @Brookesbeautybazaar  4 роки тому

      Stefani A - I am well and I hope you are too! Yes, I have it and use it on occasion- I was definitely using it in the winter. I don’t think it’s life changing as far as products with vitamin C go- BUT I do think it’s lovely to apply to parched skin before bed or first thing in the AM- and it’s pretty luxurious feeling- so good treat yourself type of product! :) it takes a while to absorb (at least for me)- so if you’re planning to use it under makeup- I’d allow ample drying time!

Or will bring the acne back ? Like I can’t understand, those Ingredients causes the fungal acne or it’s just ‘’feeding’m the acne when it exists

      Hi Sara, I think this is something each of us will have to test for ourselves. For me, I am happy with the fungal-acne-safe products I have found, because my skin has never been better. Therefore, I'm not in a hurry to reintroduce my old products. But I do understand what you're saying, and I empathize with you! Assuming your skin is calm, clear, and healthy - why not try reintroducing one "unsafe" product at a time? Test it for at least a few weeks before making any other changes. But I would also continue to use an "active" to continue fighting the yeast. Keep something like Salicylic acid (Stridex pads are cheap & gentle) as a regular part of your routine. If you're still regularly breaking out, then hang in there & trust the process a little longer before you add back in any "unsafe" products. Hope this helps!

    • @Brookesbeautybazaar
      @Brookesbeautybazaar  4 роки тому +1

      Hi babe! Yes, Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser should be safe for you to use. It contains 2 fatty alcohols, Cetyl alcohol & stearyl alcohol which is why I think some people steer clear on it. There isn't significant research on whether fatty alcohols contribute to the growth of Malassezia. It you find that it works for you, then by all means, continue on- if not, just discontinue & swap to something else.

    I’m on my 3rd bottle of thermale Avene tolerance extreme emulsion moisturizer. It has Shea butter. I entered it into the sezia website and it appears to be an ok product. I noticed the tiny skin color bumps on my face. I’m so confused if that’s harming my skin. Not to mention I’m also using squalane oil. My skin needs moisture. I’d appreciate the help.

    • @Brookesbeautybazaar
      @Brookesbeautybazaar  4 роки тому +1

      The Avene Tolerance Extreme Emulsion has 2 lipids that can promote the growth of Malassezia! The shea butter- which will probably have been called BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER, as well as the safflower seed oil which is the CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS. I would definitely recommend NOT using it anymore.
      If your skin if feeling super dry- I am a FIRM believer in wetting your face & adding a few drop of Hyaluronic Acid- patting that into your skin. It acts as a humectant & will help the moisture stay put.
      I love this one --> amzn.to/33WvwFL by The Ordinary for an inexpensive fix.
      or this one --> amzn.to/37KP5Ru by Asterwood Naturals which is pure HA & has no glycerin, so a lot of ppl like it better!
      I currently use this moisturizer by Garnier: amzn.to/2WWGcTs
      It's on the light weight side, but over the Hyaluronic Acid & water, it performs well! Once it dries down, you could add a slick of Squalane if you still feel parched.
      OR
      I honestly like to use this: amzn.to/2UNgJsN CeraVe Moisturizing Cream on my face when it's super dry. It's rich & very restorative! Usually, I only have to use it for one night- maybe two and then I go straight back to the lightweight moisturizer! I mainly use it as my go-to body lotion, but it's been a real savior on dry face days!

      @@Brookesbeautybazaar thank you so much! after watching your video on hyaluronic acid, i purchase a bottle of timeless hyaluronic serum. I am currently using the timeless squalane serum and decided to give the brand another try. On Simple skincare science there is a difference between olive oil squalane and sugarcane. I am wondering if i need to also change my squalane oil to sugarcane option because it apparently gave give you fungal acne if you are sensitive. I am 3 weeks into stridex pads and the bioderma cleanser you recommended. Thank you once again.

    • @Brookesbeautybazaar
      @Brookesbeautybazaar  4 роки тому +1

      Stefani A yes, there is a difference. I’ve been using the biossance 100% Squalane oil for a long time now- and I really love it! It’s derived from sugarcane. I would definitely swap that out when you are able- and then hopefully your results will improve even further!

      Jaren & Jalil Kids Zone hi!! A lot of people with FA say that glycerin makes things worse for them. There is not significant research to prove it does or doesn’t promote growth- so it’s up to you! I personally use glycerin based products and have no trouble- so you can if you want to!!
