Congratulations Marty, you persevered thru a heck of a chore & came out with a pretty good looking model! I love the color scheme & the gold appearing letters against the burgundy paint looks really nice! Good job my friend, really enjoyed this episode! Well done!
Loving this. Love the funky new music too. Registration errors even on original decals weren’t unknown either. So you could leave it. I still like it. Well done for persevering Marty.
When your theme music starts up, it's like a form of therapy. Instantly, nothing else matters in the world and I know I can relax for 15 or 20 minutes (or 30).
Marty - what a marathon. Fantastic video and makeover! I truly hope that you won’t be disheartened by the setbacks and that you next models “behave” wonderful looking model! Regards as always from Brazil!
Got to say I had a "What's he doing?" moment when you taped up above the line rather than below the line on the roof. Loved the '80's style 'Miami Vice' painting section.
There is just something about watching you work and listening to your voice that I just find so relaxing and so entertaining! I, and I am sure MANY others, want to thank you Marty for your channel and for doing what you do!
So that model give you headaches 😂. But Marty, after 8 days of work the model look amazing, seriously. Can't wait for the next video, hope is unboxing this time😂😂😂.
Oh Marty! You recovered well, but you sure had a lot of setbacks with this one. Thank you for showing what can go wrong with a makeover. You could have hid that from us and we wouldn't have known. Thanks Marty. Love your work, even when it has its problems!!
You can have a fire there down under! My AC is running around the clock in PA/USA. You won't make that mistake of setting thick paint on something in front of the stove again. I was amazed that painting the top with that masking tape screen worked as well as it did - until it got ruined. Wheels/axles came out great - nicely done. You have a lot of patience.
Hi from Canada Marty. Have enjoyed your channel for several years and restored a few of my own. I do a lot of scale modelling as well, usually 1/12 F1 cars. A couple of years ago I purchased a food dehydrator that I use as a paint curing oven. 3 or 4 hours at 45c will harden paint to the point where it’s rock hard and totally safe to handle. No more worries about leaving fingerprints in soft paint!
Restorers have all been there, Marty! You're working to make one area look sweet, and at the same time another area is getting damaged in the process! lol. One step forward, two steps back it sometimes seems. Glad you survived this one! lol
aw man! such a beauty again! :D the roof thing, well it happens with thick layers of paint; but the decals thing! I whinced when I heard you talking about it, and the replacements are printed badly, too... nobody would have blamed you for tossing it across the room. BUt! here it is, (mostly) looking like it should.
Dang you, Marty! 🤣 I needed to get some cotton balls to apply some chemicals on an item and I was thinking, "I need to get the cotton "BUDS". I have been watching your videos too much! We don't call them Cotton Buds in the states! 😅
Dear Marty, I live in Brazil, and I can swear to you that I have never heard of raining kangaroo balls in Australia. (laughter) ...But, changing the subject, I really like your matchbox restores. Very Brazilian hugs!
Ouch ! What a painstaking process. I admire how flegmatic you stay in this kind of situations. I am happy to own a factory fresh example of this delicious old lorry. Watch out, Kevin might be attracted by the smell of those tasty biscuits. 😋
Excellent job, Marty! Masking can be a major PITA! As a model railroader, we're told to work from light to dark, and to overspray the masking with either the masked color or a clear coat to seal the edge with paint to prevent seepage. Therefore, it would be primer, roof color, dry, mask roof, seal masking with clear or roof white, dry, spray body color, remove masking, dry, reassemble. The axle reassembly was very innovative, but I'm not sure about the finished look. It was a lot of work for little in the way of added detail or character.
First. Tape the vehicle off, from the roof as apposed to what you did - if your going that way. Use low tack tape. Second. All paints take weeks and months to fully cure, but are generally OK from that kind of problem from softness after 2 or 3 days. As you said yourself, you overloaded. So it would take longer. I have to add, it looks super. Thanks MMM
Your cat thinks you are talking to him or her. I'm sure the power tool sent it scurrying. It's 7:30 a.m. here in Maine & I am drinking coffee. I hope you really know how endearing your videos are along with that pleasant music.
Hi Marty! That is one of the models that I sent you. I must have missed the video when you first uploaded it. Sorry it was so much of a challenge, but you did a fantastic job. What appears to be corrosion is actually some sort of glue that was used to attach several of the models that I sent you to a display that was in the store where I purchased them. If you decide to restore any more of the models that I sent you, you will find the same glue on them. Maybe you can remove it with some sort of solvent. I love watching your videos!
Bless your heart Marty. I love watching your videos and I am really glad that you don’t get too upset when something goes wrong. Keep up the good work!
Good morning, Marty. I just woke up it's 7am here in Kentucky. I saw you had just posted this. A very nice way to begin my morning watching you do your work!! I hope you are doing well. As always, a great video!
Do you know what your problem is? You are a perfectionist. But it’s okay I am too. I would have repainted it also. I enjoy watching your restorations. Keep them coming!
Some had the radiator and the shell detailed. Also, a light brown and a dark brown version. One version had two lines of text. That version is rare and valuable.
Awwww, CUTE kitty! Just stopped by to say hello and get a pet/stroke or two. That was worth the price of admission. Thanks, Marty!
I loved the redoing of the roof section with the music and the Yeah at the end. Outstanding.
Thank you very much, an greetings from Germany. We are happy with that.
Congratulations Marty, you persevered thru a heck of a chore & came out with a pretty good looking model! I love the color scheme & the gold appearing letters against the burgundy paint looks really nice! Good job my friend, really enjoyed this episode! Well done!
Thanks Marty, you did a good job regardless of all the problems you had.
Making me hungry for Jacobs now but the hips don't need them . Well done
Lots of hard work and time .
But your finish is great .
Love this casting .
Mike
The challenges. Wow. You may disagree, but I think the odd decal gives it something I like. Thanks for the video!
Kevin's got competition!!! LOL Great video as usual- Thank you

The lesson is: don't try to cut corners.
Remove the top! 😉
Nice work as usual.
👍👍👍

It just goes to show that not everything goes to plan. This has made my birthday.
There is just something about watching you work and listening to your voice that I just find so relaxing and so entertaining! I, and I am sure MANY others, want to thank you Marty for your channel and for doing what you do!
Restoring these cars is not for the faint of heart. They do give your vocabulary a workout sometimes.
Omg those text decals are amazing. Your old newspaper is... interesting.
Beautiful restoration. 👏👏
"Jacobs. Even kitties do love our cookies".
Jacobs Company ad, 1918. :)
Great video !!!
...Oops! I meant "biscuits", not cookies.
Very good, and very patient.
Another awesome & amazing restoration Marty🥰🥰🥰🥰!! Tell Kevin we love him
You are a good chap Marty. I would have definitely thrown it across the room at some point!
So that model give you headaches 😂.
But Marty, after 8 days of work the model look amazing, seriously.
Can't wait for the next video, hope is unboxing this time😂😂😂.
That is the model of perseverance. Hats off to you!

Our summer is their winter.
Again a Great makeover. Thank you very much.
Absolutely fantastic!!
When you are cutting that wheel axel you have to put small piece of wood under wheel axel. Rest is beautiful😊
Oh man. I was so sad about the roof, but the montage really turned that around. Shame about the decals. That was a good ride!

Marty it looks great. Yes the decals are a bit off, but it looks great none the less.
Another outstanding makeover, despite the decals.
So glad you are back Marty. I literally Laughed my ass off. "Kangaroo balls fall from sky".
Loved the roof painting montage :)
Great Job Marty
I think that the faulty decal are fine, you did a great job!
This one really tested you, huh? Still, looks great!
Hi Marty, Hope you got over this makeover, , less said the better, but a good job , stick to the ways you know, All the best Brian 😃

Sometimes projects are a pain in the bum. Well done mate
She's a beauty. Twiglets are the best.
Restorers have all been there, Marty! You're working to make one area look sweet, and at the same time another area is getting damaged in the process! lol. One step forward, two steps back it sometimes seems. Glad you survived this one! lol
Well done Marty, this one put up a fight for some reason.
The van reminds me of corporal jones butcher van in dads army. ❤ very good job well done
Hey, Marty, give yourself some credit man! This turned out awesome! Great job! More, please 😊
aw man! such a beauty again! :D

My favorite part is always the magazine headlines 😂
Sometimes they fight the whole way through! Nice finish!
Hey Marty
She sure fought you, well done.

Love the 80s montage!
Hey Marty!
A makeover a day, keeps the blues away!
Also in tip top form😂
Beautiful little model. Love the roof color.
+1 for the 80's music montage
Dear Marty, I live in Brazil, and I can swear to you that I have never heard of raining kangaroo balls in Australia. (laughter) ...But, changing the subject, I really like your matchbox restores. Very Brazilian hugs!
Marty, you make most enjoyable videos of all of the videos that I watch.
Thank you.
Very nice Marty 😊
❤WE WANT KEVIN!🐨

I heard that one bit about the decals as a "cursive squirrel"! 😆

You've got a steady hand, mate. I wouldn't even attempt to drill out such a tiny tube.
Nice, very nice job, Marty! )))

That must have been frustrating. Well worth the effort. Brilliant restoration.
Bless your heart Marty. I love watching your videos and I am really glad that you don’t get too upset when something goes wrong. Keep up the good work!
It amazing how complicated the restoration of such a simple model turned out even without the issues of the decals going bad twice.
Marty "the biscuit king" brilliant mate!
A couple of hiccups but in the end it looks awesome 🌴👍👍😎🌴
Yikes, "Murphy's Law" definitely applied to this project! But good on you for working through all the setbacks, hopefully the end result was worth it!
Another great video Marty , everything went tits up but you still managed to do a great job . Well done Sir
Awesome restoration and a wonderful old model. The pictures at the end gave a beautiful reminder of the past.
This truck reminds me of the Truck that was used in Dad’s Army that was Lcpl Jones.
More trials and tribulations Marty , but in the end the 1918 4 ton Leyland van looks the business , nice job 👏 👍
Good morning, Marty. I just woke up it's 7am here in Kentucky. I saw you had just posted this. A very nice way to begin my morning watching you do your work!! I hope you are doing well. As always, a great video!
Same. Denver here. Nice surprise to wake up to a MMM video.
You have a good eye for color.
love the 80's montage
You can't win them all. It is still an amazing transformation. Just a bit off of your normal greatness though.
We’ll done, and thank you for your perseverance! Your videos are a highlight of my week.
Props to you Marty! The video editing is superb. Thank you so much for this video. Greetings from Germany!
Great job Marty !
Greetings from Brazil !
Do you know what your problem is? You are a perfectionist. But it’s okay I am too. I would have repainted it also. I enjoy watching your restorations. Keep them coming!
Great job Marty 👍
Very nicely done! Wow what a frustrating job that was but you kept at it. I love the headlines in the paint booth too. 👍❤️
Wow, that was the model from hell! But great job!!
Wonderful to see you . Your projects are always fun .they bring me back to when I was playing with them. Thank You
Some had the radiator and the shell detailed. Also, a light brown and a dark brown version. One version had two lines of text. That version is rare and valuable.
Nice restoration, details and paint job 👌 👍
Epic video Marty, love the roof fix montage!
Don't worry about the roof ripple. They weren't perfect when they left the factory. Came out beautifully.
IIRC, the roof on the real vehicle was probably canvas over wood slats so some sort of texture would be acceptable, just not that texture.
I got my cup of coffee. Let’s go. ❤
Great video
