I found a useful tip for building underground and wanted to share it so first build 6 tiles either vertically or horizontally then leave the tile next to it alone, then count 10 tiles away from that dame tile, basically make an L and mirror it on the other side, then dig out the tiles then that would have a 6x10 room which is bigger and looks aesthetic. If you know about it I didn't really know about it until i saw it and tried it on a new save, it worked and now im just excavating like this everytime.
That's a good way to do it, though if I'm understanding you right, you'll need to be careful since anything above it will have a really low stability. You can use beams to help deal with that.
Quickest way to improve a cellar in a hurry if it gets too warm in a heatwave is to just quickly dig out a 1 block wide tunnel in one of the walls. This just seems to suck heat out of the room, a 6-8 tile long tunnel like this could well be all you need to get things back under control. Surface area seems directly tied to the temperature. A 5x5 cellar will be a little cooler if you leave the center square as undug earth, so having corregated walls or columns can really improve the effectiveness of a cellar at keeping stuff cool.
liking your videos, but is there any way you can slow them down a little. Talking fast and having text on the screen at the same time is hard to follow
Conversely I much prefer talking fast! 🤣 Because I prefer fast talking, I often have to speed up UA-camrs. So this may be a solution, on the inverse, for you too! 😊 Select the settings button on these videos and click to change the playback speed. To slow down speech for you, you'll want to go to the negative speed (so 0.5 as an example). I've found going to a 0.25 increment avoids the voice sounding so distorted it is distracting. So for you, a playback speed of 0.75 will likely be perfect. In fact I've found a lot of UA-camrs seem to have slowed their voice in post. Either they speak too fast and want to make it slower for viewers that are not native English speakers, or want videos to be longer for adverts. *TLDR:* Try changing video playback speed, under settings, to 0.75 or 0.50 in order to slow their voice to your preference! ☺
You can slowdown the playback speed. However I think its better for content creators to speak a little slower to add a few more seconds of engagement time
Thank you, you have explained so much better than other videos or sites. Perhaps you could make a video about the blocks of ice and how to use then properly
I'm planning to make one on cellars and temperature soon for the new fermentation update! In the meantime, you have to make ice when the temperature's below freezing, and set up a storage zone for ice blocks in your cellar. They'll slowly melt over time but decrease the temperature of the area until then.
Your videos are great soon you will have a ton more subs this is quality work Could you do a video on rats I havent seen one on them Or maybe the ability of all the animals
Last I saw of this, if you got a cellar cold enough with ice, it was possible to make the room self sustain the ice so it doesn't melt, making a freezer and lets you make/replace ice.
@@JustDontDie A RP UA-cam named Rycon did that, was able to make ice in winter then made the cellar cold enough that it was possible to make ice year round.
There's a mod to do it on nexusmods, here: www.nexusmods.com/goingmedieval/mods/6 If you want to fine tune it to a point where you feel it's balanced, you can go to /streamingassets/trebuchet/trebuchetbase.json and manually tweak the damage numbers. imgur.com/a/0ZWMMyj has the file destination and what you're looking for. I'd recommend using the mod, since that won't be changed every time an update comes out and you redownload the game files for big updates.
Im pretty sure trebuchets wont spawn as long as the raiders can reach things in youre base as in not having to break down doors to get you stations. Someone told me if you put a few pyres outside of youre base they won't spawn
I've recently started playing and have laoded a few saves up and started over again to get a better grasp on the game as I go, the map I am currently on has no iron or stone whatsoever and just clay. I have literally checked everywhere and cannot find any and I am not sure if it is due to the place I picked to start or a bug. Is there a way for me to edit some of the clay deposits around the map and turn them into stone and iron?? I am confused on the whole thing entirely why I didnt get any stone whatsoever.
Kind of, but it'd be very tricky and you can only do it when generating the map, not after it's made. I'd suggest remaking a different kind of map. I believe hillside and mountain maps always have iron. Swamps never do, and valleys rarely do.
does building underground affect the structural integrity above it? like let's say i build a building then hollow out a cellar room below it, will that collapse parts of my building above it?
If you don't keep stability in mind, then yes. You can have a 6x6 cellar and not have anything collapse on the level above it, though the center tiles will be low on stability which could make building anything above that difficult because you couldn't build as many floors. If you built an 8x8 cellar, the middle tiles above it would start collapsing.
You can double click to select all windows on screen, or hold shift while clicking each one you want to open to select multiple windows at once before you click 'open'.
I still have trouble when I get attacked, or I get a huge group decked out so hard I cant beat them in the early game, or I getso many raids I cant heal or recover. any tips for that?
It sounds like you're planing on higher difficulties, where you really have to make the fights unfair with defenses. Having more archers and focus firing theres while a single file gate (or line of gates) halts their advances works pretty well. Back to back raids should be really rare. That's a good question, I'll keep an eye out next time I face off with trebuchets. My assumption is that they can eventually. Limestone has a health of 1600, more than walls, but it's presumably still a target. I don't think dirt has a visible HP though. I'll check when I can!
