Hello Roybon and thank you for following my channel for so long. Wolves will only attack deers when they spawn as an event. Regular Wolves should not kill deer. You can hunt them all as they respawn off map and come onto the map to reproduce. So the more you hunt them the more will you have to wait before they increase in numbers. Try to hunt them separately, some rabbits, then deer, then wolves. By the time you go back to rabbits they should have their numbers back. Hunt wolves with 2 or more settlers at the same time.

thanks for the tips, I have a problem that all my cellars are to warm, even fully closed of. the only way to not get the cellar warm is to not tile the hole floor.
Indeed, the more floor tiles you place down the higher the temperature inside is. So, what you do, is make a room twice the size, but only use half of it, with floor tiles, to store food.
Hi Halim. That game mechanic is stil not implemented in the game. Make a new stockpile away from your village and just check a single option for that stockpile, bones / remains and your villagers will move it there.

Hello again Wong, while you wait for the base design video, here is one about basements and all mechanics connected to digging out rooms: ua-cam.com/video/Vza4R7LJCyU/v-deo.html
Told you! It's a brilliant mix of building gameplay, survival elements, management and low polygon graphics. It's already on Steam's Top 100 games by number of players page.
The biggest issue I have is the degradation of clothes. If you constantly have to switch between summer and winter clothes, whatever you switch out of isn't going to last until next season. There should be a way to keep those items from season to season, and only replace them if they get damaged.
How does dismantle work? I can't specify what clothes or tools they should dismantle. I can only put the order to dismantle. Do they only dismantle bad things? Or will they dismantle everything they can, even good stuff or stuff I just produced?
Hello Das and welcome to my channel. So about that: Each workstation which can make something can dismantle the same things. That is the last option for each workbench. Your click there and then in the window at the right side you que up several times. A settler will dismantle everything that workstation can dismantle which hasn't been set to NOT ALLOWED, the hand icon when you click on an item.
@@perafilozof Thank very much for your answer! I really hope they put the feature in it, so you can say they should only dismantle bad tools or clothes. Likewise with raw meat and the other raw things for storage :D
@@dasjapanischeamphib8762 You are welcome. When it comes to making something, some of the workbenches have a tiny icon named EDIT on their production window.(once you chose something for production) there you can pick the materials from which it should be produces or what fuel should be consumed.
Hello Nick and welcome to my channel. You first neee to unlock agriculture, then plant a field or flax. Once is ripe it will be harvested and turned into linen from which you can make choathing once you unlock tailoring tech and build a tailoring workbench.
Hello Drew and welcome to my channel. My next video, up soon, will tackle just this problem. But in short, you need to place wooden beams between underground walls or pillars. Those wooden beams will support the structure above. No more then 4 tiles apart between two walls or pillars. But again, it's best you watch my next video where everything will be explained with examples.
Is there a way to make the villagers collect more than just one type of material on the ground? I've used shift to high light several say seeds, but the villager will only collect one instead of the three I high lighted. I'd be really happy if I could force them to gather instead of picking up ONE material then running off to do something else. Thank you for making these videos, extremely helpful!
Hello and welcome to my channel. No, every one can carry only one type of item at a time. Some things they can carry up to like a 100 or more. Some things just 1.
Hi Shawn, and welcome to my channel. Add a new stockpile away from your village and only on it check the waste box in the stockpile options. Your villagers will haul ash and other remains there.
Just click on mine command and press x to cycle down levels, the cursor will tell you which node is iron even when you don't see it multiple levels below
Hello Marco and welcome to my channel. You need to research Chemistry tech. From there you unlock Apothecary bench. You need to produce all three types of research points for that, chronicle, textbook and thesis. It's quite the advanced tech.
After heat wave my underground storage is bugged, i think. its as hot as outside air. during heat wave my basement was about 30-40C. and after heat wave endet it is as hot as out side. ( before heat wave it was about 0C )
Where the doors closed? You have to have at least one villager do caretaker job so he closes doors and doesn't let hot air in or cold air out. Also, welcome to my channel Matti.
How do you defend against the OWH FUCK ME raids ? I saw a person get raided by 6 flipping trebuchets that just focus fire the villagers with unholy precision and made short work of them. Seems like if you play on harder difficulties that you should build most stuff underground, or at least have a panic room down there.
How do I make the villagers to completely haul all the things from an area after harvesting or mining. I had an underground room mage for storing the food over my summer but the whole place is littered with clay and the villagers refuse to completely carry it off. Am I missing something or is it a bug
Does your stockpile for food excludes clay? Maybe clay storage is on, and that is why they don't move it to another stockpile? Also it could be that the way you have set up your villagers jobs isn't letting anyone do any hauling? Also, welcome to my channel Ramesh P.K.
@@perafilozof this is my very first playthrough into this type of game and your guides have been extremely helpful. Please continue making these videos
I sure will. There is a serious lack of quality tutorials and guides about this game. Seams like everyone is just doing Let's plays with zero knowledge about the mechanics and fumbling about.
Hello braydon and welcome to my channel. You click on the manage menu in the top left. Find the villager in the list with the chains, chose his hands to be empty.
Hi! Do you have a playlist for an introduction to the game for beginners? This video is the first in the "guides, tips... " playlist, but it seems to already assume i'm familiar with the game?

Space Saving Storage Tip: Use shelves in your Cooler for Food and Perishable resources. Shelves hold 3 Tiles worth of materials, in the space of 1 tile, and extend the _Shelf Life_ of items stored in them. Plus, like your Dumping Storage, Shelves Priority level can be set from Low to Very High. I set mine to High Priority in the Root Cellar, for Food and cooking resources. Great Hall and Dinning Halls are set to Very High for food.

@@perafilozof And one more question. Did material affect the room temperature? Because no matter how deep i store food in, it always get the room temp about 9 degree C and my food only be kept about 5 days
Did you watch my video on building basements? ua-cam.com/video/aTZTeV43muc/v-deo.html Dirt is the best insulator. The more you place other materials the hotter the room gets.
Hello D Matthews and welcome to my channel. No it's still there. 1. You can hover your mouse over a tile in that room and read the temperature in the uper right cornet next to the clock. 2. You first have to make sure the room has the actual room status. It has to be closed off from other rooms by stairs or doors. The the room name showes up when you click on an object in that room. Clicking on that, in the bottom right menu opens the room's menu.
It's simple Lovely PeT. Manage option up on the left. Find the villager on the list, go to his hands equipment section and set empty hands. BTW welcome to my channel.
Hello Le Bread and welcome to my channel. First, what year and season are you in now ? What is your regional influence? How many villagers do you have now?
So you are just 11 days into your playthrough? No worries then. Every so often, about 10-20 days you will have a new event come up with an opportunity to have a new villager.
I just bought the game on Steam, and have been enjoying it so far, but... I've encountered a problem with a brewing station. I'm trying to make sour wine, and I have quite a lot of redcurrants, but when I assign someone to this job, it says that I don't have enough resources. I tried harvesting some more, but it didn't resolve the issue. I then decided to demolish the station and build a new one in another location, but nothing has changed. Has anyone else had this issue?
Hello 1LangMan1 and welcome to my channel. I have a video dedicated to brewing drinks here: ua-cam.com/video/Nwduohg0iWI/v-deo.html But! From your description, I think what you are missing is wood as fuel. How much wood do you have on your stockpiles?
@@perafilozof thank you for your reply! I've got a lot of wood and berries. Does the station have to be inside a building? I like your content, it's very informative and well-structured. There aren' t many content creators who cover this game. I hope your channel will keep growing! 🤞
@@IndigoFeather Thank you for the praise! If you have the required resources at the stockpile then please check is wine the only and the first job. Maybe you accidently clicked on beer or ale as the next brewing recipe to be made? Another thing that might be the problem is that non of your villagers has a high enough priority for cooking or hauling resources. The channel is booming right now right along with the game. I am soon going to publish my new long video on the game.
I built my food storage 2 levels underground, sealed it with clay wall and a door, yet the lowest temperature I could get was 7 degree celsius during winter
Hello Max laa and welcome to my channel. Did you tile the floor as well? What does the food information say when you click on it? In the bottom right. Does it have a decomposition text or non of it?
@@Trifler500 Oh, nice, I must admit having skipped the last few updates as I just have so many requests to showcase new games I wasn't able to play it. What do you think of it so far?
@@perafilozof I think it's a lot of fun. I really like the building mechanics. I would like to see them add a more advanced insulation system. Possibly more like Rimworld's, where air can actually mix. There's room for a lot of DLC ideas, so hopefully they won't call it done and stop.
@@Trifler500 Same here, I love building new settlements, more than going to the end and maxing them out. There is definitely lots of room for upgrades and new content.
Hello Austin and welcome to my channel. First you unlock the Technology called Tailoring in the research menu. Then you build a tailoring workbench. Then a villager with a high tailoring should have that job prioritesed in his job options. You then order up clothing in the tailoring workbenche's menu on the right, when you click on it.
@@austin2kk Yes. Once you disassemble an item you get the materials they where made from. Since you can't make leather yourself that is a way to get it. You have to have 80 of the same type of material to make a single winter clothing item.
Hello Jin Wei and welcome to my channel. Once you unlock agriculture you have to open up the menu at the bottom left for Zones. Then sub menu Cabbage field. There you will find another menu open up and there you have to move the slider to the right to find a birch tree.
Haha, good one! The thing is there were in the game for a very short time. But the developers had some issues with them, and promised to bring them back.
Hello Gabriel and welcome to my channel. You click on the manage menu in the top left. Find the villager in the list with the chains, chose his hands to be empty.
For some reason that i still don't know, when i send one(and i said one, not a hunting party) i draft him/her, and directly control him/her, and from here i found an exploit for archers/hunters or anyone shooting a bow or crossbow, during the cooldown between shots, you can force that specific settler to move(even if you stopped the time, if you force them, the exploit still works) and the cooldown will disappear and you can then force them to shoot the prey. Pretty much nullifying the cooldown thing. This also works against raiders.
Oh! I definitely need to test that out! Thank you very much for letting me know. I will use that against the master archer raider who will attack my village in my upcoming Let's play episode. Also, welcome to my channel [[[NOPE]]] interesting nick.
If you feel a bit confused of how to do the exploit(just in case), here's a step-by-step: 1. _just skip to the part when you want your settler to start blasting_ 2. Wait until your settler shoot 3. Pause the time and tell him/her to go somewhere and then before continuing the time, tell him/her to *blast* the prey 4. Rinse and repeat until the target is dead
@@perafilozof no not that part at the very begenning when u can chose 1 of the 3 senarioos you can add a new one with 3 or more settlers like you did with the 10 settlers on the mountain monastery
@@perafilozof thanks for the quick reply iam going shopping now but i will try and add more stuff and let you know how it went ive just started to wath the monestry lets play and thanks again for speedy reply
Very little. Banished is more about building and resource production and gathering, while Going Medieval is more about managing your villagers and providing for their needs. The scale is quite different.
Hi The other Dave and welcome to my channel, I have had similar feedback before. That I need to make these slower. I have applied that advise to later videos on this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLRYGjguAn0CF9g2QAQz0qSRDZph6r8bUt.html
Hello Raziel and welcome to my channel. You might think that, but here is my experience: 1. You cut trees from your base towards the edges of the map. This increased travel time, and creates long hauling distances. 2. If you are on a mountain map there won't be many trees growing on it naturally 3. Planting trees close by makes it fast to go to them, cut them down and bring the resources back to base.
@@perafilozof absolutely, those 3 are perfectly valid reasons to do that :) my issue was with reasoning: "plant early or there will be no wood on your map". Living in the valley I was perfectly fine with trees just naturally growing close to my base for the first 5-6 years. Another great advice: don't chop down entire forests, chop random trees selectively and you'll always have a fresh forest near your base. They grow back as long as there are trees nearby.
Indeed, that is also good advise. Cutting down everything in a large area would prevent old trees from helping new seedlings be grown. About the phrase I used... it's sometimes better to make a broad statement because if I go too much into the details the whole subjects becomes to complicated to follow in a tips video for new players. So if I say that, and they follow my advise they will play more carefully.
The one thing that surprised me is that they don't have the option to eat flax, just grow it for linen (and the real world process to make linen has a lot of stages, I hope they expand on that)
Hi Bliffle, cool observation. Indeed linen production cycle expansion is one of the more requested feature over at the game's discord suggestions channel. The only problem with must such additions is the time required for settlers to actually do all that work. Some things would need to be changed, shortened to accommodate that additional gameplay.
Thanks for a clear and concise video that was really useful :)

Owh man, this game does look great!
Do you keep the clothes inside of a room on crafted floor tiles? Btw welcome to my channel Jeff.
When mining what’s the space capacity before requiring support beams to prevent cave ins?
Same as when digging rooms. About the fardest length wooden beams will cover. 5 or so tiles. And welcome to my channel Dustin!
@@perafilozof yes I know about this. Makes live easier to handle ressources
@@dasjapanischeamphib8762 Exactly!
Nice video, by the way do you know how to get fabrics in colony, i can' t produce suits for winter :(
Hello Nick and welcome to my channel. You first neee to unlock agriculture, then plant a field or flax. Once is ripe it will be harvested and turned into linen from which you can make choathing once you unlock tailoring tech and build a tailoring workbench.
@@perafilozof Thank you, can t wait for futer uplodes
my underground keeps colapsing if I build under a existing building.. Bug maybe? ONce it collapses, there is no recovery i noticed..
You will find this video immensely helpful Drew, fresh of the render: ua-cam.com/video/Vza4R7LJCyU/v-deo.html
@@perafilozof Thanks for reply. It's a little better now that the animals gather.
how do you deal with waste?
Hi Shawn, and welcome to my channel. Add a new stockpile away from your village and only on it check the waste box in the stockpile options. Your villagers will haul ash and other remains there.
Just click on mine command and press x to cycle down levels, the cursor will tell you which node is iron even when you don't see it multiple levels below
Cool tip! Thanks blight blightt and welcome to my channel.
how do you make simple healing kits/healing kits/etc?
Hello Marco and welcome to my channel. You need to research Chemistry tech. From there you unlock Apothecary bench. You need to produce all three types of research points for that, chronicle, textbook and thesis. It's quite the advanced tech.
@@perafilozof thanks :)
Pero filozofe odlično 😉
Hvala Saša! Dobro došao na kanal!
Hi Matti, I just posted a comprehensive video on this subject! ua-cam.com/video/Vza4R7LJCyU/v-deo.html
How do you defend against the OWH FUCK ME raids ? I saw a person get raided by 6 flipping trebuchets that just focus fire the villagers with unholy precision and made short work of them. Seems like if you play on harder difficulties that you should build most stuff underground, or at least have a panic room down there.
Dig a mote around the whole keep? Also welcome to my channel.
@@perafilozof I think it is the job profile this is my very first playthrough I might have to tinker it more
@@darrenblack5541 Could be. Remember that jobs on the left are higher priority than jobs on the right, even when both have 1 set.
Okay I need some help. I keep getting settlers that have the "chained up" debuff and I have no clue how to remove the chains. They keep rebelling
Hello braydon and welcome to my channel. You click on the manage menu in the top left. Find the villager in the list with the chains, chose his hands to be empty.
@@perafilozof you're a lifesaver, subscribing for that one
Thank for that! Welcome aboard!
Hi! Do you have a playlist for an introduction to the game for beginners? This video is the first in the "guides, tips... " playlist, but it seems to already assume i'm familiar with the game?
Hello nickt and welcome to my channel. This is the video on exactly how to start: ua-cam.com/video/5AbgRl__vmo/v-deo.html it is only missing the part about seeds and planting crops which was changed in update 3 for which you want to watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/aiQ6-I1huqg/v-deo.html
Hello Odee Dillon and welcome to my channel. That is a very important advise and one I only figured out much later. I plan to add it to my next fresh list of advise for new and old players alike! I hope you will have more such great advise to post on that video!
We NEED a base building guide. What ideology guides your first structures and how to add onto them as the game continues.
Hello Mr. House and welcome to my channel. Thank you for the suggestion, you will be happy to know I am working right now on one such video and it will be my next upload, probably several uploads.
well, are there anyway to expand the map?
Hello Tuan Long, and welcome to my channel. No. What you can wait is for mods which will let you chose bigger maps and for Devs to add it as later content.
Is the room temperature feature removed? I can't seem to find it.
Bro dont u know or what to do on settlers got chains on him i wan unchains him but dontknow how

@@perafilozof oh ok :)) thank for the help
No problem, happy to help.
Digging tunnel 4 lvls below and adding a door makes the temp go minus 3, add a floor too which makes your resources last forever, good luck 👍
Hello Max! Here is a new video covering that whole topic: ua-cam.com/video/Vza4R7LJCyU/v-deo.html
One thing some people don't realize is that if you don't clear-cut, and instead leave some trees, then new trees grow near the existing trees.
Hi Trifler, welcome to my channel, and thank you for that excellent tip! How long have you been playing Going Medieval ?
@@perafilozof Quite a while. I think since it went into early access on Steam.
How do you make clothing from flex?
Hello Austin and welcome to my channel. First you unlock the Technology called Tailoring in the research menu. Then you build a tailoring workbench. Then a villager with a high tailoring should have that job prioritesed in his job options. You then order up clothing in the tailoring workbenche's menu on the right, when you click on it.
@@perafilozof I did unlock the tailor but somehow I can not make clothes from flex or leather
You don't choose the material. The villager automatically uses what he has available.
@@perafilozof but i m able to make clothes from disassembling the clothes that I got from bandits
@@austin2kk Yes. Once you disassemble an item you get the materials they where made from. Since you can't make leather yourself that is a way to get it. You have to have 80 of the same type of material to make a single winter clothing item.
why cant i build a tree nursery even thought i have the research done?
Hello Jin Wei and welcome to my channel. Once you unlock agriculture you have to open up the menu at the bottom left for Zones. Then sub menu Cabbage field. There you will find another menu open up and there you have to move the slider to the right to find a birch tree.
If only we had the science for ladders.
Haha, good one! The thing is there were in the game for a very short time. But the developers had some issues with them, and promised to bring them back.
How to get the chained up person free?
I believe this works best with crossbows, if memory serves, the bow took a bit of time before they shoot.
I see, thank you for the extra info. I will test both to see what happens.
If you feel a bit confused of how to do the exploit(just in case), here's a step-by-step:
1. _just skip to the part when you want your settler to start blasting_
2. Wait until your settler shoot
3. Pause the time and tell him/her to go somewhere and then before continuing the time, tell him/her to *blast* the prey
4. Rinse and repeat until the target is dead
@@Mifey05 Thank you. I underground as much. The action to move resets the shooting cooldown, but while the game pauzed.

@@perafilozof no not that part at the very begenning when u can chose 1 of the 3 senarioos you can add a new one with 3 or more settlers like you did with the 10 settlers on the mountain monastery

I am not sure what you are asking?
damn they really riped off rimworld
Trees so early are absolutely unnecessary. If you deforest your map it will be years before you run out of wood. Especially since trees respawn.
The one thing that surprised me is that they don't have the option to eat flax, just grow it for linen
(and the real world process to make linen has a lot of stages, I hope they expand on that)
Hi Bliffle, cool observation. Indeed linen production cycle expansion is one of the more requested feature over at the game's discord suggestions channel. The only problem with must such additions is the time required for settlers to actually do all that work. Some things would need to be changed, shortened to accommodate that additional gameplay.
but you don't show how to actually do the thing ...geeze ... you're relying entirely on autonomy ...
Hello Agni Das and welcome to my channel. Which exact spot during the video are you referring to?
