Don’t do the mudding. Hanging sheet rock isn’t bad, but mudding and sanding is a crap ton of frustrating work if you’re not used to it. Hire a contractor for that. It will go quicker and the finished product will be better. Signed - a guy who has done more mudding than he should have before figuring this out. 😂
I'm loving the intro song, but I can't help but sing "My veins are blue, and connected and every single bone in my brain is electric"
Parts shortages are affecting pedal builders. I was finally notified in the middle of July that I could get a Snouse Black Box built after a year wait, and it has finally shipped. The thing was that I had gotten a notification that a shipping label was created, but I had to follow up a couple times, and I was notified they are dealing with parts shortages and I was lucky to get mine built. They may have to stop production for a period of time due to parts shortages.
Much love to you guys. There's something so comforting about watching you guys talk about most anything guitar related.
Rhett in a mood on this one. I love it.
Just bought JHS's Bender. I've had a few Fuzz Faces and tend to gravitate toward that sound. Not a big muff guy, although I love Wren n Cuffs versions. Their Box of War with all the mods is incredible. So, I needed a bender. All you need is Fuzz. Fuzz is all you need.
Woot! I'm currently shopping for fuzzes! Talk about timing. This podcast is deep in the pocket on the 2/4.
Sound channel in between layers of drywall definitely helps if you're taking that approach
This posted at the perfect time, I’m just starting my drive to work
glad I already bought 3 of those red bakelite knobs for my Mjolnir! (It's an older one, smaller housing, came with the smaller, black knobs).
As soon as you spoke about the guitar, it made it an item for flip. That is the world we live in and due to the Internet it’s not going to change. For example: Ask anyone who drank bourbon prior to 2018.
Octave fuzz is awesome! I love it! My new favorite is the EHX Octavix.
Rhett, I couldn’t agree with you more on the stream deck. As a live production guy, they are one of the single most useful tools in my arsenal. Also, if you haven’t started using it with the 3rd party program called companion, you gotta. It makes it even better.
If you get back to Rockwood, theres a parking lot at Delancey and Suffolk. Or at least there was when I was there a couple years ago.
“Didn’t mean to buy it but I guess I did.” Yep…can we start a support group already.
Rhett - You talked briefly about your Tone King Iron Man II Mini at
I've owned the JHS 3 Series Fuzz (FuzzFaceish), Legends Bender, and Legends Supreme. Ended up getting and keeping a MXR Sub Machine and selling the others.
My fave and current Fuzz and which has an octave option is the Fjord Fuzz Odin. Fantastic sound and just one large (enough to be possibly foot adjustable) gain/volume knob. Mind you my first ever pedal back bought used in the early 70s was a Vox Tonebender Mk 11 for about £10! Sadly it eventually stopped working and I let it go years later in a trade - d’oh!
The other nice thing about 3-Transistor fuzz circuits ala Tone Bender is they typically have enough gain/saturation on their own to sound amazing into cleaner setups/amps as well, which can't always be said about 1 transistor (Rangemaster) or 2-transistor (Fuzz Face/MK1.5) type circuits
Check out the MXR/CAE power supply for one with variable outputs. It has 2 9vac as well as 2 9vdc that ranges from 4.5v to 15v. I use it to run my SuperFuzz at 6v and the Carbon Copy at about 12v.
